"If the *entire pokemon world* loves pokemon so much why don't they just marry them?"

@Milos9 eh, anything other than gardevoir, lopunny, and lucario are basically just niche.
@@niko_8208 and you can say so so confidently why?
@@noahp1124 Isn't it obvious?

according to the pokedex entries of steelix
silver: It is said that if an Onix lives for over 100 years, its composition changes to become diamond-like.
SoulSilver: It is said that if an Onix lives for 100 years, its composition becomes diamondlike as it evolves into a Steelix.
so the chance of a wild steelix isn't that weird
it's actualy a Easter egg call back to the episode where ash confronts a crystal onix.. but I like that for steel is as well
Pinsir's lack of evolution bothers me to this day.
Well, at least it has mega evolution
@@ZarChasmOfficial So does Scizor, so Pinsir still getting the shaft. Poor Pinsir.
@@faerylnhiikira1053 but scizor has the exact same base stat total as scyther, so you're not really gaining a lot by evolving it, other than the nice typing.
It feels incomplete
4:03 Well at least the Gen 6 starters are those types... when they are fully evolved!
I am just now noticing this
I can’t be the only one who played the Pokémon diamond bootleg
“Did you know that during the development of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, they originally planned for you to be able to travel back to the Hoenn region?”
Not gonna lie Papasea, you had me for a moment
If the sinnoh remakes add a hoenn expansion it will be the best Pokémon game of all time
knowing nintendo now, they’d make it paid DLC smh
@@peanits333 you want everything free don't you ? It's a business
Hoenn would be odd Johto would t be more like it cause HeartGold events line up with diamond and pearl
@@baberellafox5429 not like timeline wise just make it where I can go fuck around in the hoenn region. Idc if there’s nothing to do in hoenn besides explore and catch legends, if they made DP+Hoenn it would be the best game of all time hands down
@Chris N yeah and if they include it the game will probably have dynamax to balance things out 🤮
I hate it when there's an imbalance in exclusives. This is a more minor example, but in later gens, Arcanine is simply better than Ninetales in almost every way. They should've buffed Ninetales along with Arcanine, maybe giving it more Special Attack, but they didn't. Yet they still remained exclusives.
Both are great Pokemon, and I actually like Ninetales a little more, but this always seemed a bit unfair to me.
The worst one by far is Gligar and Delibird being exclusive in Gold and Silver considering Gligar looks pretty badass while Delibird is a useless Pokemon that only knows one move
I love Stantler! The johto anime episode with Brock taking care of the injured baby one was great. But still great video
I personally think Heracross is the best bug type pokemon.
Snom, checkmate
Infernopod
You right tho
Scizor
pheromosa 😎👌
2:30 The Gambler trainer class wasn't renamed in the Spanish version (it maintains the same name as it had in FRLG, "Jugón"), so the censorship was most likely exclusive to the English releases as opposed to all the Western releases
If you evolve your pokemon between receiving it and going to professor rowan you will get a text saying "oh you've evolved your pokemon already?"
I remember those bootleg Diamond back in the day. I could never past the first town for some reason...
I am Italian and in my Diamond/Pearl copy P.I/Gambler are indeed named Rischiatutto ("Risk everything dude") so fortunately that private investigator bullcrap didn't stand lol
And I can confirm it's the same for Europe, Croupier in French, Jugador in Spanish
Also in the german Version he is called "Spieler" (= Gamer).
@@peterdeter6343 They did rename the class to Gamer in Let's Go! Pikachu/Eevee
I remember skipping workstudy my sophmore year of college on a Saturday to buy the game on the first day it was out to play it all weekend. I was fired the next day.
Perfect example of content I want in my recommendations
perfect example of a comment I want to see after a rough day
I have one, it's about Platinum as opposed to Diamond and Pearl, did you know that in the Australian versions of Pokemon Platinum they keep the slot machines in the game and what's weird about this is that Australian versions of video games are based on European versions of video games and because PEGI changed it's stance on video games with other regions of the world soon to follow, so this means that the Australian localisers went out of their way to keep the slot machines playable, when they could of simply just had left the slot machines with a text box like the European and later Korean versions as opposed to a full on mini game, it's a small change between the two versions, but it's a change that I'm glad they did, shame that Europe and South Korea never had it in their version of Pokemon Platinum and in South Korea's case the slot machines weren't playable at all in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.
I’ve been really distanced from pokemon since gen 6, so I’m glad this video popped into my subscriptions uploads, a good blast from the past lol
I also knew someone with Jade growing up. We could never get far in it because it was so weird and badly translated, but it's always stuck in my mind after like... idk, close to 20 years?
My friend from school had the bootleg Pokemon Diamond, only played it once but thought it was pretty fun not the best thing i've ever played but it was pretty cool.
The reason Steelix are found in the wild is because of all the iron found in the rocks they eat. It enters their system and makes them steel type and gives them a steel exterior.
I disagree with the whole bit about wild Steelixes. Dex entries talk about how the Steelix evolves from Onix, and it never mentions the Metal Coat and Trading. The way I understand it, items and trading are ways to accelerate the natural growth of a pokemon. An Onix that lives long enough and burrows deep enough into the earth to whether certain pressures will naturally evolve into Steelix.
Didn't know about the typos in different countries that's interesting lol. Sucks that Tatertot (Slow family) is exclusive to pearl but at least we can trade or import it. The fact that they can connect to the most games just is incredible
I like stantler :(
This one here officer
@ROBBY43 alright mister we can do this the easy way or the hard way
SAME.
Same here.
This is more on the topic of Gold and Silver, but I've always theorized that Heracross was originally supposed to be a King's Rock evolution of Pinsir rather than a standalone pokemon, but they later decided they wanted a really rare bug-type pokemon to be found exclusively on small trees. It always seemed weird that they would include an evolution to Scyther but not Pinsir.
Another oddity with disproportionate evolutions is that Magmar, Electabuzz, and Jynx were once a trio of humanshape pokemon. In Red, Green, and Blue they were version exclusive counterparts to each other (with the exception that Jynx could be obtained by trading in Red and Green), they were each the only pokemon of their type to have the elemental punch attacks, and they all got a baby form in Johto. Then Diamond and Pearl comes along and makes ane evolution to Magmar and Electabuzz but nothing for Jynx and ever since, Jynx has been left behind.
Maybe the Dark, Fighting, and Psychic is a hint at the starter Mega's.
love the content
The thing about scyther and scizor is that they arent normal evolutionary line. they have the same base stat total of 500, when scizor got more def while scyther got more speed. so they are more or less like equal in strength, only having a different play style. and I actually like stantler more than kecleon - kecleon is pretty gimicky in my eyes, while stantler can be actually a pretty solid normal type pokemon for a playthrough
I love your content. I’v watched 10 vids yesterday and today
Very good, this was just great to watch thanks for the awesome video!
I actually had one of these copies of Pokémon diamond, the bootleg version, I think I swapped another game for it with a boy who was much older than me. I don’t really understand what it was and thought it was pokemon red/blue predecessor. If I recall correctly you automatically caught every Pokémon after it fainted.
You missed the recent discovery about encounter rates in Diamond & Pearl increasing or decreasing on the days of real life holidays and tragedies respectively.
Dan Samolewicz I heard about that after this video went up. I’m surprised it went so long without being know
All these facts beat “There’s an NPC who trades you a Haunter with an Everstone so you don’t get an instant Gengar” which is even in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and I just think this is GameFreak trying to troll us…
I actually really enjoy calling monsters in telefang who take time running to my location to fight for me.
I was jabaited in the first 10 secs lmao woah
Not so much a weird fact, but theres some exclusive Pokemon you could get in the Diamond and Pearl games (And possibly platinum too) but putting in one of the Gen3 games into the GBA slot that the DS line used to have up until the DSi. I actually found this out by accident when a friend borrowed me his Emerald version for me to unlock the Regis (Since i had internet and knew how to do it) and left it plugged in, just to discover a Pineco on Route 204.
Also, on that note, Steelix isnt actually the only trade evolution you could catch in the wild in Diamond and Pearl. Using the previously mentioned method with literally any Gen3 game, you could catch a Gengar in the old Chateau.
There were also several other rare pokemon you could find like that, like Lunatone and Solrock by plugging in Sapphire or Ruby, respectively, and going to one of the lakes, Turnback Cave, Sendoff Spring, or Mount Coronet.
Hers a fun fact, Pokémon Diamond has a very slow experience bar!

Yo. ! Just subscribed. Love your content
I feel like PI flipping the coin also could have been a Harvey Dent reference
stantler is a cool pokemon, he just has the Noctowl problem where despite being normal type they learn almost exclusively moves from a different type which ruins them. If Stantler / Noctowl evolved into psychic types they'd be far better lol
Dimond and Perl was the only game at the time where u could see every Pokémon in that dex
Great vid, subbed :D
The Japanese versions have a glitch where you can surf from the room of one of the Elite Four
People used that glitch as one way to access the void glitch that let you get the event legends free
The Azure Flute to catch Arceus wasn’t released because Game Freak thought it was too hard which was odd considering it was similar to the other two events
First games with a worldwide trade system although Crystal had a mobile link trade system in Japan. To celebrate, a bunch of Starlys, Bidoofs, Magikarp and others were put up for trade. I have a few cloned ones in my event collection. The gts also had a glitch where a Pokémon could be deposited and if the player made a trade and then retrieved it, it would evolve. Cloning was possible too and that’s why the gts has long been clogged with impossible trade requests. GF finally helped things out this gen though. And you can still access the gts if you have a WPA capable wifi. There are fan servers up replacing the shuttered official ones.
If you can do the bath and get the right trainer ID number you can get a 1 in 20 shiny rate in these games with s cute charm lead Pokémon.
No one:
Me: yay! Stantler!
So underrated please remember us when u get up there PaPaSea I love ur videos bro
I had Pokemon Jade in middle school!
I will have to check my Australian diamond box for the typo
can confirm it says space thats so weird lol
I had that pokemon diamond bootleg game on my emulator. It was in japanese and i never knew what was it called or what it really was about! Thanks!
I would've that starting the dark type pokemon in those games were the best
stantler might be unremarkable but that doesnt mean it doesnt deserve love
Loving the mewmore bgm
If you listen to it as background noise as much as I do, you'll find out that Dan Avidan from Game Grumps considers Stantler to be his favorite pokemon.
I love Telefang! ❤️.
Well... on the subject of the P.I. (private investigator) having a coin...my mind DOES go to a bit of trivia...
In 1930's japan, there were a series of novels about a fictional policeman/detective, set during Japan's Edo period. Apparently, he defeated criminals by throwing coins.
Now, this'd likely be something only known in Japan, at the time, and even with the gradual proliferation of the internet, not many in the west would be in on it. But, it's still a fun thought.
Bidoof looks good in orange
Sinnoh had sum of the best Pokémon I ain’t gone flex and champion cynthia is so broken
Y’a this was the new generation graphics of Pokémon it was a huge leap from the game boy advance games I was so happy when I got diamond. The graphics was so clean dawg and my last game was platinum. Black and white kinda but mainly platinum I stopped there. Sinnoh region i was done with it.
The pokemon marrying people thing is a legend, doesn't mean it is true.
Do I hear the temporal tower music in the background?
Dude, have you never seen a PI flipping a coin? That's like a common thing in media...? Could still be a gambling reference but probably not.
I never understood the whole version exclusive thing. Like it’s probably because the company makes more money which I don’t necessarily care about, but like it’s the same region lol
This reminds me of "did you know gaming?" videos
The first games where you can catch an early game electric Pokémon and it may competitively doesn't perform well but in game it is a fantastic mon to use
Um no? Pikachu in gen 1. Mareep in gen 2, you got me in gen 3 cuz you you can't catch an electric type till after your 2 gym badge. Gen 5 had blitzle. Gen 6 pikachu again. Gen 7 grubbin
@@sceptilep717 well you forgot magnemite and mareep in bw2
Golly likes are good for the UA-cam Algorithm, I always thought fossils were for that
what about dongle mode using gen 3 games in slot-2? Gengar is also available in the wild (first time you can catch wild gengar) at the old chateau. (sitting at a 4% encounter rate 8% in platinum in the room with the purple picture that has red eyes)
I still have my original Pokemon Diamond game. :)
I like Pearl's exclusives more than Diamond's.
I see gen 4
I click
2:18 Hey, hold on. In I
Italian, the name for that trainer class is "Rischiatutto", which is a name used to describe a gambler. How come it didn't get censored in italian, but it did in english?
Really interesting!!!..
Imagine going back to the Hoenn Region in 4th gen 😩 they should have added it for the 3 regis and Regigas
Small thing i heard about of the marrying pokemon thing there is some...weird thing i heard about with vaporeon... That it was compatible with humans. Idk if this was confirmed, but it is weird as hell. Figured i'd comment about it right quick while on the topic. (Lets not talk about it again, i don't plan to for sure)
Edit: also stantler is one of my favorite pokemon, so can't say it doesn't at least have a few fans. ^^'
RIP Stantler
Actually, Pinsirs evolution was cut in gold and silver for some reason.
Watching this when they're remaking it :D
You didn't mention the cute charm glitch that makes your shiny chances 1 in 5
I don't typically talk about glitches in the fact videos but I do make some glitch videos where I mentioned that glitch
Couldnt you get a Gengar in the 4th gen games when a 3rd gen game was in the gba slot
1:12 no, it first came out in Japan in 2006
In Japan, yes, which I am very well aware of. If you listen to what I said at that timestamp though I said released worldwide, as in 2006 it was not released worldwide. It was released worldwide in 2007
I SO WISH we could have gone to hoen after....
Well guess I'm theguy that likes Stantler
The best generation. 😍💕
Also the cut Cyrus datamine.
You know I just thought about this but do you think you could actually show us all the connectivity that diamond has with all the games? I'm not sure if there's anything like that on UA-cam so it would be cool
I don't have all of the games or a way to record some of them
@@PaPaSea ah ok np
Does the connectivity to other Pokémon games also apply to Platinum or is it just Diamond/Pearl?
I like Stantler :( :o
Yeah I thought Hera/Pinsir were the pair...weird
I like stantler.
me too mate
i like stantler :(
0:40 I guess you forgot about Corphish huh?
Nintendo we want remake
It’ll happen eventually
Watching from Canada papaseaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
bonjour
I wonder where the actual proof is that it talks about humans and Pokemon being able to marry in the Japanese version? I'd heard it before, myself, but people have said that it's not true, and I can't find any proof of it, so it's like, is it actually a real thing or not?
It’s in the library in Canalave City. From what I’ve seen it is real
@@PaPaSea I just mean that I wonder if there's any actual translation of it. I know it's in the library.
There's multiple sources online, like Bulbapedia, which translated the Japanese text and it says something along the lines of "there were people who married Pokemon"
did pokemon really evolve from trading in anime?
I don't know. I don't really watch the anime
I believe once when Binaca traded a Pokemon with Professor Juniper and the black and white anime. It was one of the Random episodes I watched of that part of the anime at that time.
Was Stantler always so thicc?
2:12 it is gen 3, gamer is not in gsc
I don't know how i missed that when the sprite I used was clearly from generation 3 lol
What about for platinum?

Were you the first like too?
