@@tabithajones113 not necessarily, he can do it with any item so he'd just need to fill his inventory, go to the store then duplicate something to sell to Pierre
This glitch is useful for more than just money! I played around a bit with this glitch on my own copy and found that while duplicated items are buggy and don't last overnight (aka you can't hoard five stacks of duped coal, cause I tried), items CRAFTED from duped items stay and work perfectly well! So if you dupe a bunch of the 3 kinds of tree seeds and craft a whole 999 stack of field snacks, those 999 field snacks are perfectly valid to the game and you now essentially have unlimited energy as well as a way to make infinite money.
I decided I was tired of the grind and will exclusively not exploit this bug to get money or free consumables but I’m fine with duping stuff like a couple iridium sprinklers and walls and paths, looking at you paths that require gold or refined quartz
Actually you can keep the dupes items overnight you need to obviously dupe the item but then trash every item on the floor and in the chest there should be the amount of the item in the chest
"But naturally when a game is made by only one person there's a couple of issues because when you have a very limited amount of people working on a game there's not exactly much time for testing and exploit fixing" Forgot about every Bethesda game, are we?
BGS was 100 person team when they made Skyrim and Fallout 4. And I would say it's fairly safe to argue that those games are way more massive in size and scope compared to a game like Stardew Valley. When you actually consider this, 100 people isn't actually all that much and is actually fairly comparable to a single person working on a game like Stardew.
If you exploit during the first run, you’re just robbing yourself of the joy and experience of what the game offers by beating it the correct way…2nd run though, all bets are off and you can lie, cheat, and steal like what my favorite Mexican wrestler once advised me
I played my first time fully legit and completed everything but lose the save file sadly, but the second time I played I used the item code in name thing after 3 yrs in game just to get some money I have already completed everything so I just did it to save time. FYI for all of you, yes this works on switch, I just used it. Actually on switch you can just hold A, so it’s actually slightly less work. Edit: Also an additional tip, I recommend putting the chest you use underneath the sell box. The items that pour out will generally gather above the chest and whenever you Hold the A button to sell an item in an inventory slot it’ll also automatically sell any item that enters that slot off the ground, making selling from that single slot just as easy as the dupe on the switch :) Additionally, while Spiff uses different items to fill his inventory (most likely because of how the Organize button works on PC) that actually isn’t required on the switch, I just used a single piece of fiber in each slot. Hope my new edits are just as useful :) Edit 2: To anyone unaware this has since been patched with the 1.5 updates and no longer works if you update to the newest patch.
For anyone who hasn't found out yet this glitch doesn't work anymore but there is a two person glitch you van do with any item you can set on a table 😉.
I love how you regret spending so much time picking up dandelions when you could have placed the chest right next to the other chest and probably not have moved at all.
The Spiffing Brit it doesn’t. Started stardew valley recently after seeing your previous vid ... which they fixed, then found this exploit and currently have over 20,000,000 in game, just hit my second Spring. Duping the Legend fish really breaks the economy. Each 512 stack is over 3mill.
@@thespiffingbrit I just tested it with diamonds. I sat the chest with one space between the drop box and the chest and duplicated them to the right side while standing in the middle. There's a quicker way to get a million using your previous stardrop exploit Spiff! Just use the name [434] and talk to the bartender while holding a piece of furniture. It will cancel the eating animation and stack the stardrops in your inventory instead. They're worth 7777 a pop, so just repeat the loop and sell enough to make a million! naw man, it's called mercantilism, you exploit the lower classmen and prevent them from importing too many goods from another place so that your economy can grow. Not only that but the lower class who just happens to be on every side but the benefitting side can (with materials provided) make you into the the biggest cheese 'n cheddar tycoon ever to exist which in turn leads to popularity amongst the cheese loving public giving you significant political power as well as the right to use as many cheesy jokes about milk processing as your soul desires. becoming the greatest cheese connoisseur would be a mere first-step to completing your goal which is likely to conquer and dominate the entirety of this galaxy using the power of a cheese
Tried in multi-player, seems like if the duplicated items are cycled through another players inventory they become legit and count towards what you put in the box. The game no longer knows they are duplicates after that.

@@YiotisTheGnome Approximately 2014 I believe? Basically, the Harvest Moon franchise was originally developed by one company (the franchise is called Farm Story in Japan when literally translated), and Natsume just published the game for western audiences. Well, Natsume still owns the rights to the name "Harvest Moon" and is now developing titles under that name, while the developers for Farm Story continue to make games, but they cannot sell their games to western audiences under the name Harvest Moon, so now the titles are under Story of Seasons.

Oh I didn't remember to dupe iridium

BGS was 100 person team when they made Skyrim and Fallout 4. And I would say it's fairly safe to argue that those games are way more massive in size and scope compared to a game like Stardew Valley. FYI for all of you, yes this works on switch, I just used it. Actually on switch you can just hold A, so it’s actually slightly less work.
Edit: Also an additional tip, I recommend putting the chest you use underneath the sell box. The items that pour out will generally gather above the chest and whenever you Hold the A button to sell an item in an inventory slot it’ll also automatically sell any item that enters that slot off the ground, making selling from that single slot just as easy as the dupe on the switch :)
Additionally, while Spiff uses different items to fill his inventory (most likely because of how the Organize button works on PC) that actually isn’t required on the switch, I just used a single piece of fiber in each slot. Hope my new edits are just as useful :)
Edit 2: To anyone unaware this has since been patched with the 1.5 updates and no longer works if you update to the newest patch.
