You should have the info from find my drone. It’s working for me 4 times. Down to with in 2 feet. Try that. Don’t forget about the old looking signs! Good luck Bob. After 6 days nothing some clouds returned for me. Happy thanksgiving.

you mentioned that you wanted to land on the main trail and then when you dropped altitude, lose signal, and it would RTH. I wonder if you you could have changed the option to land or even hover.

I'm not familiar with the Mavic, but my Mini lets me change how the drone reacts if it runs out of battery or radio signal. Options are RTH, Hover, and Land., It would seem if you could get over the trail and select Land, then when it runs out of battery or if you turn off the radio, it would land right there.

That is a great idea. Sadly, I was more concerned about the drone doing an uncontrolled landing. People use these trails. Losing a drone is bad but hurting some is far worse.
