Great video Kri! In my case the Streamer X might be the best, compact and versatile of the three. I'd just hope it could have at least 2 audio input and 1 video, that would really be perfect to me.
@@luiz-seigo Thank you! I have a feeling that Rode will eventually release additional options for their audio/video device lineup, including a device that will address what you're looking for. We'll see!
I'm really enjoying your videos. You missed the opportunity for a video title.... "Which Rode should I go down". "Don't go down the wrong Rode". "The Rode to Success". 🙂. Keep up the great work!.
I co-sign the pro2 over the pro duo. Unless you’re a streamer in your student bedroom or video game type of creator, you’ll be more future proof with the pro2. Also people usually forget these XLRs double as Aux inputs. So you can add other sources than just microphones to your mix. And the pro2 is larger, but for whoever had the first model, it’s way more slick and fits in a bag pack. Remember the days where serious audio mixers were the size of your car’s booth
Thanks! You're so right about XLR's doubling as Aux inputs. I prefer removing as many limits as possible when it comes to my gear purchases. Appreciate you tuning in!
Hello, i have an issue with the Streamer X on Mac: i use Teams set on Unify Chat (Speaker and Mic). I cannot send sounds from the Pad (eg : Applause) into teams conversation (Voice effects works). I've tried bunch of settings without results.. Can you please help ? Main audio choice in Teams is Rode Unify chat (other choice can be Rode Connect System), Speaker and Mic choice in Teams are Rode Unify Chat Virtual (other choice can be Rode Connect System, Rode Connect Virtual, Rode Unify Virtual, ...).
Wouldn't it make more sense to connect the camera to the Atomos and then out to the streamer x? Caled Pike at DSLR video shooter also made a video on this
One of the primary features I find lacking in Streamer X is a dedicated on-off power switch. I would prefer to avoid the continuous rainbow effect generated by the colored lights in my room.
Can I use a device in a class with students -- are the mics all cables or can more that one wireless mic be attached . i.e I teach, guided meditation with background music & effects ) Im kean to find the device that allows me to use a wireless levallier mic so that my vocal has a reverb sound effect? I want to sync a Rode device to bluetooth speakers in the classroom. What device is inter-changeable between these audience settings so I can opt to do podcasts online or teach in person and just get the right speakers to pair up with it? -- Also please recommend anything alse to help me pull this off. When I hold classes in person I want to do guided meditation and energy /sound healing with sound effects from the device ... On other occassions I then want to do a meditation and a dance mix which will be pre-recorded for them to move to ( like a mini ecstatic dance ) ** I have been looking at the sub-zero wireless headset levallier mic so I can be free to use my arms and play chimes gongs /etc in sound healing and then do meditation with reverb and sound effects live. If this is too complicated I will prerecord the entire meditation but I want to freestyle it and get the kit that will achieve this. Online I will want to do a video feed broadcast as I will do online meditation and sound healing / playing an instrument & vocals there - they may even just for reels on tik tok instag etc .... I may need stream yard but before I commit to that I want to know what gear to buy. Thank for your help. You explain things well . I just wanted to ask you this before I buy anything
I'm not aware of a single device that can do everything you're describing. Try videos on church/worship setups as they may have similar requirements. Best to you!
@meredithmarsh_vidpromom I haven't had any issues. Rode Central has been buggy on occasion, but based on the number of firmware updates they've released recently, I believe their device software is still a work in progress. Those who are experiencing issues may need to do a simple firmware update to fix and if not, Rode's customer support is top notch.
@@kriedholm I watched Meridith’s video and based on the issues she’s experiencing I was tempted not to get it but it seems as though the experience is different for everyone. #decisions #decisions
@@michaelocunningham just watched @meredithmarsh_vidpromom 's video and the user challenges she covers are valid! I can understand why she chose to return the unit. I guess it comes down to user tolerence until more firmware updates come out.
Which of these devices will work best with your workflow?

If you can link the duo with the streamer x does that give you 3 XLR microphones inputs?
Unfortunately it isn't possible to link the duo or rodecaster pro 2 with the Streamer X

I recommend reaching out to Rode directly to help with this. Best of luck!
Yeah got my rodecaster Duo for 320 USD including tax in price brand new on sale best deal i ever got.
Wow! Great deal and I hope you enjoy it.

You could do it this way as well! Caleb is amazing. I just ordered his videodock to streamline this setup even more.

I agree about a dedicated on-off switch. Also, you can change the color and brightness of the pads using Rode Central.
can the duo do everything the streamer x does?
No. The duo supports audio only.

You can technically get 3 mics the front has a jack for a headset.
Which device are you referring to?
@@kriedholm oh sorry the duo. I have two of them and they can take a headset with a mic attachment like Rodes own nth-100m headsets
