What is your experience with the Rode Streamer X - Love it or Hate it?
Price is high
Setting it up was not trivial. It did not worked with regular cable so I bought a rode cable to connect it to the computer.
So cool to see a video that doesn't just cover the basic features.. thanks for making!

As a “Bass Player”, I was able to use the combo jack to plug my instrument and record a cover song trial.. using QuickTime Player!
It was crispy and clear!

Hi Kri, great information... do you know if it is a hardware limitation that you cannot connect two wireless GO TX units in merged mode or could that change with a firmware update?

I've read that the Streamer X is not compatible with iOS devices at this time. Maybe it'll change in the future?

I have another expansion usecase both I am not sure whether it is possible or not. I want to make an interview podcast setup with two camera and two podmic. I am planning to use one dedicated streamerx for each camera/mic pair. Is it possible to connect two streamer x (each controlling one camera and one microphone) to a single computer for reconding/streaming both streamerx output.
Ooh this is a great idea, but not sure that what you're describing is possible. Maybe try using software like OBS? Would be great to hear if you find a solution that works.
Can i use it to make a dual computer streaming set up(the streamer x only)? my pc being my gaming rig and the mac as the streaming pc. also if both of my HDMI connections will be occupied with the computers where can i connect a camera to it?
Don’t believe the streamer x alone will get you the result you’re after
What about connecting external speakers? I have the Rodecaster Pro II and was thinking of getting the Streamer X, but I need speaker output.
Your only option is utilizing the headphone jack on the Streamer X or check out the Mackie Mainstream.
When you capture 4K video from the Streamer X to QuickTime on your Mac, does QuickTime yield a 4K video file? For me, I only get 1080 for some reason, though I get 4K files when I record in Ecamm Live.

i do wish there was something that could let me connect a camera and a console to the capture card simultaneously but maybe that will be in a future version

I'm interesting in getting one myself. Do you know if the Streamer X audio input receives a stereo input? Like, if I record from a stereo mic (let's say for example an asmr mic) and patch it in to the streamer X, will the left and right channels show up as individual levers on the same audio track, or will the streamer x auto mix the stereo L and R to be a mono master on both L and R?
The only audio inputs at this time are XLR, headset, or rode wireless mic sync. Sounds like you need something with more advanced functionality.
Okay yeah, but I mean does the streamer X capture a stereo input through just the XLR input? I have a mic that can record a stereo track, with panning to left and right depending on where I talk relative to the mic, and the monitor output to the recording is in stereo. So just to be clear, when I talk on the left side of the mic, I only hear it (or just hear it louder/closer) to the left ear. So, would the streamer X capture that as stereo if I just plug into the XLR port or will it mix both left and right channels into a mono track?@@kriedholm
Hello, i have an issue with the Streamer X : i use Teams set on Virtual Chat (Speaker and Mic). I cannot send sounds from the Pad (eg : Applause) into teams conversation (Voice effects works). I've tried bunch of settings vithout results.. Can you please help ?

I thought the Rode Wireless Me and Wireless Go II has an automatic wireless connection with the StreamerX due to the fact it has a built in reciever for Rode wireless mics? Why the need for the XLR to 3.5 adapter?
The XLR to 3.5 adapter can be used with ANY wireless mic system, so it's an option if you don't have the Me, Go II or Pro from Rode. Additionally, you can only connect one RODE wireless mic directly at a time, so if you want to use 2 mics, you can connect using the adapter.
Is there a xlr splitter to connect 2 mics? Can I connect my phone as a camera source?
You could use a xlr splitter to connect 2 mics. I haven’t tried connecting my phone so not sure about that one.
The ATEM Mini allows you to mix 2 stere 3.5mm mics + all the HDMI camera’s audio!

Any idea why the capture is so finicky?

No. The ATEM Mini output maxes out at 1080p.
@@kriedholm Thanks, I'm looking for a 4k switcher for 4 cameras that I can use for live-streaming. I can't find anything yet that's not made for major production and thousands of dollars. Do you happen to know of anything? I like the streamer x because it can output in 4k but can only do one camera. I had thought of buying serial of these and connecting them to a single source but that seams like a lot of headache and extra gear.

Why don't you just use your ATEM to stream. Fantastic audio capibilities, 4 camera inputs, 2 mic inputs,etc?

Hello, can someone please tell me if I could use all 3 microphones simultaneously (and be able to manage the gain on each separately) if the streamers x is connected just to an external power bank and not a laptop? I will be very happy if someone answers?
You cannot use 3 simultaneously

You can use any camera that has a HDMI out with the Streamer X

Just a specific Question to the Video Capture Capabilities of the Device: 1. Did you found out if the USB-C Ports definitely not Input Ports and i cant using it for a UVC Camera for conncet to the Streamer Device? 2. If you come from the ATEM Mini HDMI - do you recieve 4K Quality ? I gues the Atem Mini just deliver 1080p.
This is the Big disadvantage of the Streamer X 1 Camera is ok, but most of the People are now trying to have more Video angles, like you metioned in your Video. So for this environment Streamer X is not the best Solution.
As of now, you can't use the USB-C ports as additional camera or mic inputs. Also, anything coming out of the ATEM Mini's will be maxed at 1080. My hope is that RODE will make a larger version of the Streamer X in the future that supports additional inputs!
Can I capture video on iPhone? And still use my rode microphone? How do I plug that up, I’m new to this!
I've never done a video on this, but it can be done!
