Would have liked to have seen actually footage of it in use.
I really do not like the distortion the wide angle lens creates
Very nice video. Detailed explanation.
Appreciate it and thanks for tuning in!
Great video, I really enjoy how you present and communicate
Thanks, Scott!
Its not just the pads. The software controls so many settings
With that auto switching issue, do you think if you set all 3 to the same "priority" setting, like medium for example, it would work more smoothly?
If you give all cameras the same priority, my guess is that it would give equal switch time to each angle. Not sure if that meets your def of more smoothly. It would feel like more equal time for each angle.
Great video as always! Thanks Kri. I thought of doing a similar video on my channel for course creators and entrepreneurs but I can just send them this!
Thanks Michael!

Does this work with the normal Rodecaster pro
It works with any recording device that has an XLR input
@ ok thanks I have the normal rodscater and want to buy the rode interview mics will they work with my machine
thanks your voice is incedible with mkh50
Thank you!
Great guide! Thanks for the information Kri!🫵
Thank you!
great video! you should also do one for just making general videos for people who don't want to make a podcast, but want to make videos like you!
That's a great idea thanks Casey!
you answered your own question. she just did in this video. once youre finish upload your video to opus clips and let opus grab dope clips fromy our video alond with captions and b roll
Thanks! Now I want similar gear but based on a table tripod :)
Nice!
I just got the MKH50 and can’t figure out the best settings on the rodecaster pro 2. Help 🙌🏼 what are your settings
I use the built in condenser mic setting and turn all processing off in the RCP2. I prefer to edit audio in post.
@ thank you
Hi Kri. Thank you so much. I'm just starting out doing research to see all what it takes for a good video podcast setup. I cannot tell you how helpful your video was. It's a lot to grasp for me, as I'm so green to all this, but I'm finally starting to understand just what I'll need. Thanks again so much. I did have one question, when you plugged your HDMI into the camera, you fastened it secured with something onto the actualt camera. What was that? I'm thinking its something not included with cameras and needs to be after market?❤
Glad you found it helpful! I have a small rig cage for my camera that comes with the hdmi clamp: www.smallrig.com/SmallRig-Cage-for-Sony-FX30-FX3-4183.html?skuId=1626864585649934337&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAxea5BhBeEiwAh4t5K0ePqBgncBjQ_kaTPe7ACnwjMmuud3AmbE3BKa2X9SCMbzSz7NTaOxoC9iwQAvD_BwE

That's what I needed to see so I can buy the 10- 18 sigma... thanks... any additional comments?
Glad you found it helpful. I use this lens all the time and love it!
Thanks for the video. General advice to all about the Oktava - I've used it quite extensively. I have four or five of them (cardioid for orchestral/operatic recordings), but almost as many again went bad on me. So, they're good but delicate. The quality control is not quite there really. Handle with as much care as possible. Alternately, just stick with the Sennheisers. They're rock solid, industry mainstays for a reason. Cheers. 👍
Appreciate this insight!
👍🏾 nice
Thanks for watching!
Does riverside have better video quality over Zoom, given the same setup?
Yes
Would this adapter work on the Streamer X with a wireless go II?
Yes!
Did you have any trouble with the teleprompter being too front heavy and sagging? I think I need a better ball/fluid tripod head.
Setup is very light so whatever you have should work.
So useful! Currently I am in confused state whether I should go for Sigma 10-18mm f2.8 OR Sony 10-20 F4. What you suggest ?
If you want a blurrier background or are concerned with low light go with the f2.8.
Thanks
Does it power on pretty quick?
Takes a while to power back on if it overheats.
@ what about general powering on cold? Is it pretty quick to get up and running or does it have to load for a few seconds?
This video would have been more helpful if you had specified not only the lens size but also the exact distance from the camera.
Agreed
Thank you for the info. It is great to see a small channel with good content. Keep going strong! ❤️
Thanks, appreciate it!
If I’m not mistaken you should use Rodes VXLR Pro adapter. It’s got some fancy magic inside to sort out the gain issue you’d usually get from using an XLR to 3.5mm like you have.
The preamps that are in these newer Rode audio devices can handle the gain issues you're referring to, but your recommendation is an option as well. Thanks for sharing!
@@kriedholm odd...I tried on my Rode Caster Video and my Rode Caster Duo and it didnt work so I had to order the VXLR Pros as per Rodes recommendations...I wonder now...im confused lol
I did the same with Rodecaster PRO II, just used a TRS 3,5 mm > 6,5 mm instead XLR adapter. It worked the same way as in your example (2 sets of Wireless PRO). Anyway, good tip!
That works, too! Lots of workarounds are out there to get the most out of these devices.
What hacks are you using to get the most out of the Rodecaster Video?
Hi friend. Is it possible to conduct a zoom meeting through mackie? If so, which entrance is it through? Is it possible to play background music at the same time? I have an Android phone, does it support mackie mainstream? Thank you in advance for the answers🙏
Hi Varidi you sure can conduct Zoom meetings using the Mackie. This video gives a rundown on all the ports and may be helpful for your setup: ua-cam.com/video/Qn8mnuFrrvw/v-deo.html
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
You are very welcome!
I like the Roland UVC-02. It is similar to the Rode Streamer X as it has one XLR, a hdmi input and an aux input and controls for mixing all three. In addition it comes with iPad Switcher software that lets you switch up to 4 mobile phones and a Chrome web-browser wirelessly and create various video scenes.
Sounds like a great device! Appreciate you sharing.
The DJI Mic 2 beats up Rode Go 2 for 5 times, and I’m saying this cause i have both of them,i feel like the same thing happened with Canon and Nikon, while they both were building DSLR cameras Sony was so quiet building Mirrorless Camera winch these days is the King in Mirrorless Cameras anyways 😅Have good day love your content, new subscriber!
Appreciate that! Thanks for subscribing!
Another amazing content Kri! Thanks a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the awesome video!
You bet!
I've been using this device for a few weeks and am not happy with the auto-switching. It just lags too much on someone who isn't even talking to the point where the file is unusable. I even had a viewer comment on one of my podcast videos saying they didn't like the camera switching. I'll keep tweaking and hopefully they release an update. Thanks.
I hear you and the sooner they dial this in, the better
I don’t get why your videos aren’t getting more views…🤨 I love your content! It’s tough to earn UA-cam’s trust, but once your videos start getting indexed, they’ll take off!
Appreciate that, Matt! My plan is to keep going :)
Horribly convoluted device. Software is even worse.
What's your preferred device?
@ that’s the whole problem there just aren’t many choices. The RODE stuff, though well built is janky af. The software feels like beta at best, and the way it interacts with the windows mixer is horrific. To have a device mixer running on top of the windows mixer which also has to run on top of the TikTok live studio/OBS mixer is an absolute -nightmare-The manual can’t even properly explain how to use the device (this is repeatedly noted by many reviewers) It’s unreal to me that after all these years windows is still such a mess. To answer your question, my preferred device is a UAD Apollo, but naturally it doesn’t work with windows 🤣 in 2024 this is WILD. Now, is my application very specific? Perhaps, but this is a real use-case for this device and I am very underwhelmed. Do I see it improving? Absolutely. Eventually.
Does it have an output file for video editing software like the atem mini where you can open the davinci resolve file and edit the whole session (adjust switching) easily?
It doesn't at this time. Hoping for a .xml file output in a future firmware update.
A masterclass in clear confident presenting and judging by the quality of the image all this fuss about 4K seems a bit overdone although I agree it could be a little cheaper
Thank you
I'm holding out hope it will go on sale for Black Friday. Thank you for the over views. They are very in depth abd highly appreciated. Hated I missed the live.
That would be fantastic and hope it happens. Thanks for tuning in!
Sorry I missed it when you were live. Maybe next time I can catch one of your videos when you are live. One of the features that I like and I’m excited for is the auto switching.
I hope you can catch me live next time!
You're unique, your contents are educative and inspirational. Hezekiah, your fan from Nigeria.
Hello Hesekiah! Thank you for tuning in all the way from Africa. So cool!
What is your favorite thing about the Rodecaster Video?
Great Video! Is it possible to use Obsbot Tiny 2 Lite with the Streamer X as your camera?
Don't believe so unfortunately, but check with Rode just in case I'm out of the loop.
Awesome video Kri! I appreciate all the value added info you provide in here.
Thank you, glad you found it useful!
The black magic ATEM its a capture Card tooo so its not necesary use the streamer x ti do this
Nope but if you want to, you can!
Love the channel !!! What is the great difference between this and the roland vr-1hd? b
Main things that come to mind are that I never felt comfortable using the VR-1hd for client work, unable to record to external ssd, and lack of features/accompanying software.
Thank you for posting this. I wanted to know if another 2 usb rode microphones could be connected aside from the 2 xlr microphones for a 4 mic podcast. You just answered my question with this video. Looking forward to more of your videos! 😎
Good to know and appreciate you tuning in!

I'm really enjoying it so far. Thank you!
