let me be the first to say... your channel and content is amazing my friend. thank you for your hard work. your sub 37 video convinced to purchase mine. keep it up!
Thank you! It's not easy for sure, (hence why the video is a day late) but I'm trying to post each Tuesday, but it's little tough. I'll never slack on the effort though, I really appreciate you stopping by and checking me out!
Man, I really appreciate you taking the time just to twist the knobs! I can't tell you how many monologue videos I watched and they did not even touch the damn thing! Nice to finally hear those sounds.
Just discovered your channel today and been watching two straight hours of your content. Beautiful, so amazing and really admire how much work you put in. KEEP IT UP NOIR!
This is by far my favourite synth, as I quickly learned when starting to use it I realized that if a synthesizer was made for me then this would be it. I love the sound, feel and look and it fits my workflow beautifully. Korg sure to know how to make quality products!
Totally agree! (I miss you MS2000, RIP). It was a ton of fun making this. I wish I had more time in the editing phase, but I think it turned out decent! Thanks for checking it out!
Athaphian if you read up on how the UA-cam algorithm works you would see that a thumbs down actually helps a creators video more than doing nothing at all, as every interaction is counted as positive engagement. So I appreciate ya :)
Great video! You are hilarious. I like the way your videos are entertaining, very precise and detailed oriented in naming the facts of each piece you are reviewing. Keep it up!😎👍🏽
Thank you, thank you! I so the best I can to balance fun and real details, I mean I legit read the manual for every single synth. I had fun doing this episode, but man am I tired lol
I chose gold as well, and even paid full price to get it (there were a lot of black or blue ones available used). There are other red or blue synths on the market, but who else is gold?
Great review, thanks for showing how easy the sequencer is to use, I thought it would be really difficult,my only negative regarding my purchase was the lack of power adapter, but it is a brilliant little synth !
This is the first video of yours that I have watched(recently got a monologue), and I am sold. Your humor is terrific, and the production of your video is high quality. Well done sir. Also, I love the channel title. C’est magnifique.
Mini keys "(nooo nooo noooooooooo...)" hahah I love that. The monologues are killer, but damn korg for making me want one after just buying a prologue!
Your old time subscriber, and I want to say thank you for what you're doing! iI personally am still saving money for a monologue, and your video even more convinced me. Also, I think your videos one of the best in that "music gear review" field on youtube. And you have greatly improved them during this time.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you sticking around while I found my style here on UA-cam. Those first videos were so cringe worthy. It can only get better from here. I hope you get the Monologue soon. I'm giving this one away in a future video, so you could wait and hope to get lucky ;)
Noir Et Blanc Vie it's my first synth and I think it's a pretty cool choice for beginners. The little screen helps you a lot to understand what is happening with the sound. Now I need some volcas to make things more interesting. Btw your videos are very helpful. Keep on the good work
Thank you! If I could be a great singer I would feel like I had it all :) I love the oscilloscope! I think this synth actually helps beginners more than anything released ever.
I love everything about this! Thanks for the helpful review! Also really digging the skeleton hands as our guide! 😂Keep up the awesome content, fellow synth lover!😎
Awww thanks Rebecca! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😊 Just trying to be uniquely me as much as I can be. I’m a nerd, what can I say 🤓 (Also, it looks like I have a new fun channel to watch now....YOURS 😉)
Woo!! 🥳Welcome! 🎉I am so humbled and honored to have you over at my channel! I think you'll like it there (I'm quite the nerd, too). Psst...more synth love to come, stay tuned!😎 Keep being uniquely you!✨🤩
Got to say this intro is one of your most entertaining and I loved the bit where you stopped to clean your eye balls. That is quite a synth. But for 300.00 it will be soon overlooked, sequencer, patch memory and all to the Model - D from Behringer. As a hair raising modular clone of the infamous Minimoog Model D at the same price, after listening to it's demo's the synth community of Analogue, whether openly or in some strange hidden fear of judgement will also quitely pounce on that! It's sound in contrast to the 3,500.00 legend is mind blowing! Even if you own or would want to own the original wouldn't you rather poly-chain and create the poly-moog? I think if Moog would do it with PATCH MEM, they'd have it, but time will tell. I think that could be the Father or the Mother series. A 3 voice modular with patch bay, patch mem, (yes patch memory on main board with modular patch bay for experimentation) and some over arching feature to cap off the mother series, maybe some west-coast features? Change things up a bit at Moog.
Holiday for all senses, I really enjoy watching your videos Mr. Noir =] I'd like to see a review for Minilogue, or at least I hear your opinion on this instrument. This might be my first analog synth.
I've been stuck in modular land for a while now, but I got a payday coming and I got those thoughts again about how nice an old-fashioned synth would be. You know what I mean?
Hahaha, I know what you mean. I have so many modules hanging out in boxes over here. Maybe I'll review something you like! What modules have you been really feeling lately?
I borrowed my friend's Make Noise Shared System and it was fricking amazing. I can see why you enjoy the Erb Verb so much, it definitely is a sophisticated all-pass reverb with really nice dsp that's just as capable as sfx as it is for solid ambiance. I also loved the rene more than I thought I would, I hooked up Pamela's New Workout to clock inputs running euclidean sequences through the x/y clock inputs at different rates and suddenly everything sounded like it was sequenced by Flying Lotus or Prefuse 73'.
Awesome, thanks for the great video. Nice to see a decent product for the price. Especially with the motion record and sequencer. I just sold my Volca Bass to upgrade to this little beast.
Love your videos :) This was hilarious. I can never find it in my heart to buy any of the new gear though... I have a Juno 106s, Wavestation, a Moog and might be getting a korg ex 800 next...
The monologue is perhaps the most under rated monophonic analog to come along - ever. I prefer to keep it's virtues a secret. Or wait a minute, I just broke my own rule. buy one!
I tried out the Prologue, sounds like crap, too resonancey for my taste control interface wasnt really upgraded enough for the these prices these are my honest thoughts. Video to come soon.
Best gear video ever! My monologue is the key piece if kit for me, it's programmable microtuning is unique. While you can use a patch editor to scale tune a Moog taurus the scale tuner onboard here is unique for analog. If you do Indian and middle Eastern music this is a must have synth
Yeah if it wasn't for the microtuning I would have gotten the roland se02 instead, but since I do electronic renditions of classical middle eastern music and Indian ragas this synth is an absolute godsend for me.
It’s tough, only one Synth I’ve ever used is like a 10/10...maybe the Sub37...the problem is I totally make these reviews based on my experience and enjoyment so scores kinda mean nothing and are jokes half the time haha. I’d say it’s as close to a 10/10 as it gets. The price and sound quality is just all there. That said I don’t love the sound for some reason, it’s good, really good...but I don’t love it in an emotional way.
Wait this is today's video? I thought monologue was here some years ago. What a coincidence I thought. That explains why there were no used on eBay.. Great into, great review.
My first synth is the Volca Keys. From this demo, this sounds identical to what I have for 1/2 the price. I will use an Arturia Keystep as the keys, sequencer, and arp. I think I got the better deal.
Newb question. Why would someone get a mono synth versus a poly synth? Can they do things the poly can’t do? Seems limiting to me. Enjoying your channel! I found it when I went searching for the volca fm and your video for those were great. For the time being I’m going to stick with Dexed software but will keep my eye for a deal on the volca fm. Thanks!
So it all comes down to preference, for the music in the video it's all done with the Monologue except for drums and the Rhodes patch. I had to track the chords on the Monster Mash cover three times since it's only a single voice synth. Obviously live you can't fake poly out of a mono, but for recording you total can. Mono's are just cheaper usually, so you can get a great sound for less money, the tradeoff is just the amount of voices...I hope this makes sense.
let me be the first to say... your channel and content is amazing my friend. thank you for your hard work. your sub 37 video convinced to purchase mine. keep it up!
infamousemac1 Me too.
haha that intro! well funny!
Thank you!
yes indeed!
I can't get over the production of your video man, you go above and beyond. Please keep it up!
Thank you! It's not easy for sure, (hence why the video is a day late) but I'm trying to post each Tuesday, but it's little tough. I'll never slack on the effort though, I really appreciate you stopping by and checking me out!
Noir Et Blanc Vie of course, looking forward to more of your content! It's been really informative.
This is tight ... I laughed hella hard at you not screaming but screaming good times!!
Hahaha, I hope I did a good job, I can never tell. I'm glad you liked it!
Great review! BTW, the wood on the back of both the Monologue and Minilogue is actually real (Pyinkado).
Is it really, oh gosh...My mistake, I need to adjust a card to say that. It's beautiful real wood in that case!
The wood is real, apparently, not fake. I like your vids, very creative.
I love this. I've never been so entertained by reviews in my life. You rock, dude!
Man, I really appreciate you taking the time just to twist the knobs! I can't tell you how many monologue videos I watched and they did not even touch the damn thing! Nice to finally hear those sounds.

I had so much fun watching this episode; hope you had just as much fun making it! 😃
Also, out of all the colors available, I like the blue color the most: it really gives off that MS2000 vibe 😉
Totally agree! (I miss you MS2000, RIP). It was a ton of fun making this. I wish I had more time in the editing phase, but I think it turned out decent! Thanks for checking it out!
You deserve soo much more views! Your content is awesome man. Thank you :)
Epic as always. You are one of the superheroes of youtube. Keep up the great work
>one min synth review
>10 mins long
>me: c:
LOL. I can't make them any shorter! I hope you approve ;)
The more the merrier!
Athaphian if you read up on how the UA-cam algorithm works you would see that a thumbs down actually helps a creators video more than doing nothing at all, as every interaction is counted as positive engagement. So I appreciate ya :)

Just picked up a gold Monologue about a month ago and have 0 regrets. Keep up the great vids man, loving the production quality! 👍🏽
Thank you Chris! I was so impressed by the performance and sound quality at the price!
I have the red one, but really might pick up the gold as well because it’s so cool looking.
I chose gold as well, and even paid full price to get it (there were a lot of black or blue ones available used). There are other red or blue synths on the market, but who else is gold?
I finally overcame my anxiety and got this Korg Monologue as my first synth.
You made the right choice! The monologue is a synth I always think about revisiting.
Me too. :D
@@NoirEtBlancVie I did as well, now ive mastered it , i'm ready for a new one, would like to stick with Korg
@@NoirEtBlancVie this a microbrute or save up for something else?
Great production .including the stop animation of the unboxing.
New to your channel, but man I’m impressed. Not by the gear, but by your personality. You gotta good thing going here.
If you hold the shift key down while turning the Intensity knob (either for the EG or LFO), you can get negative values out of them.
Great review, thanks for showing how easy the sequencer is to use, I thought it would be really difficult,my only negative regarding my purchase was the lack of power adapter, but it is a brilliant little synth !
I love the whispering of the features with candlelight. Hilarious man.
This is the first video of yours that I have watched(recently got a monologue), and I am sold. Your humor is terrific, and the production of your video is high quality. Well done sir. Also, I love the channel title. C’est magnifique.
Lol these vids make me feel good, best synth channel for sure !
What what!! Thank you so much, I appreciate you saying that.
Watching Donny Benét use the Monologue in his KEXP set, almost brought tears to my eyes. 😎

Still loving the Monologue in 2022? Mulling it over as I want something portable for the Summer.
You deserve a lot more attention for your videos. They are very very good! Keep at it bro.
This video is so scary that 1 minute felt like 10 !
It’s horrifying lol
came for the synth, stayed for the charm
Why thank you Roy! I really appreciate it!
9 out of 10? Wow, but this little monster definitely deserves it. And: lovely review!
It's that good...I mean I did give the SUB37 a 9/10 as well, but that was with the old OS. Now, I'd honestly give that synth a PERFECT SCORE!
Great channel. I value your perspective and the videos have a lot of character while being very strait forward and informative.
Thank you Daniel I really appreciate it!
I was drooling over a Minilogue at the store the other day. Although this Monologue might just do fine. I enjoyed the video.
It's super dope, while I'd love the Minilogue too the Monologue is just so small and great sounding!
Love my monologue. Perfect synth for beginners. And at an affordable price.
Isn't it great, for the price it's sound is seriously great!
That opening alone is deserving of a like and subscribe!
Haha why thank you!
I just bought it last week and I was waiting for your review. I'm kinda loving it
Isn't it awesome!! The price is just so great for what you get!
Top notch production. Congratulations
Thank you Vonzo, sorry it's a day late, but I'm just trying to consistently put out good stuff you ya!
I love this man. hope your doing well my dude!
Amazing video. Keep up the great work.
haha, this made my day!! I love your reviews, man!
Thank you for sharing this work of art. Greetings from Germany.
Duuuude this is sooo funny and good!! Love it
Thanks mate. For the production and thé content
This video made me subscribe to your channel. The little bat killed me haha
Keep up the great work! So much effort deserves way more subs!
Thank you! Glad to have you here, it’s fun to just make videos like this when I have the ability!
I love everything about this! Thanks for the helpful review! Also really digging the skeleton hands as our guide! 😂Keep up the awesome content, fellow synth lover!😎

Once everyone buys a Boog they will realize the limitations and appreciate synths like the monologue that offer sequence and patches.
Holiday for all senses, I really enjoy watching your videos Mr. Noir =] I'd like to see a review for Minilogue, or at least I hear your opinion on this instrument. This might be my first analog synth.
I'm loving the halloween special!
Thanks Robert! Where you been at? ;)
I've been stuck in modular land for a while now, but I got a payday coming and I got those thoughts again about how nice an old-fashioned synth would be. You know what I mean?

I'm so jealous!!! I need a WAY bigger Eurorack case over here!!
Please do a review of the Minilouge XD!!! Love you dude!!! Your videos are amazing
Holy production value, Batman!
Dude your aesthetic is great!
Thanks Korgi, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Because of your channel i'm going to buy the nord drum 3p tomorrow!
Hell yes, once you get a hold of it it's kinda addicting! Enjoy!
Production values are off the chart!
Awesome, thanks for the great video. Nice to see a decent product for the price. Especially with the motion record and sequencer. I just sold my Volca Bass to upgrade to this little beast.
Awesome as always, man.
Thanks Jake!
I liked the eyeball cleaning gag at the beginning :-D
Nice baseline at 7:46 👍
Love mine! Love creating base lines and effects
excellent channel and videos! Have you played a Bass Station II? I have one but it'd be cool to see a similar walkthrough of features. again, thanks!
Epic review, I died so many times watching this!
You deserve the subscribe, more content, please! :)
(You have to try the Novation Circuit btw)
Awesome video as always!!
Thanks Daniel!! It was fun!
Kinda wish everyday was halloween! The skeleton hand cracked me up.
Lol, I'm going to use a larger skeleton hand next year haha
Worth mentioning is the possibility to activate the front panel by simultaneously pressing shift and play.
Love your videos :) This was hilarious. I can never find it in my heart to buy any of the new gear though... I have a Juno 106s, Wavestation, a Moog and might be getting a korg ex 800 next...
Great work as always amigo! That a blue Kiwi mic you're using there?
Thank you!! It's actually a Bluebird, I use it for most of my voiceover.
You ALWAYS can use another synth. Awesome vid!!
Great video! I believe they include power adapters (as well as batteries) these days.
Thanks for helping this synth newcomer to choose an instrument. This looks ideal for a beginner.
It’s a fantastic piece of kit, I’m glad I could help!
Don't drop wax on the baby:)
This year I only spilled one candle. I still have to clean up my floor haha
I was legit stressed.
JalapenoStudios Me too.
Same here. Horror movie.
Haha made me cringe seeing how close that was to spilling on the synth! Great review though. :)
Didn’t Aphex Twin create some of the sound patches on this?
Just found your channel and subbed immediately...for great justice!!!
Thank you!
you deserve so many more subs/views
thatgoodgood THUG thank you! I'm just trying to keep making good stuff for as long as possible!
Monologue just sounds evil haha. The sound is so crisp and edgy. Amazing synth and the step sequencer is awesome. Also has lovely buttons and knobs
The monologue is perhaps the most under rated monophonic analog to come along - ever. I prefer to keep it's virtues a secret. Or wait a minute, I just broke my own rule. buy one!
MrCowfood hahaha I totally just let the cat out of the bag. I really love this thing!! It's so so dope!
I’m in love with the monologue but what about the SE-02 plus K-25M?
🤔
Fantastic review! 👻
Great review! Any chance of a Minilogue or a Prologue review? Keep up the good work!
I tried out the Prologue, sounds like crap, too resonancey for my taste control interface wasnt really upgraded enough for the these prices these are my honest thoughts. Video to come soon.
Sp🅾🅾ky aesthetics. THIS is why I love your channel! Keep up the great work! :)
Thaaaanks! It was super fun to do, hopefully I topped last years!
Smashin' that like button. Oh, yeah... Smashin' that like button... :)
Thank you! Did I surpass last year Halloween episode?
Oh, gods no... Not the... Not the... Please no... :(
Best gear video ever! My monologue is the key piece if kit for me, it's programmable microtuning is unique. While you can use a patch editor to scale tune a Moog taurus the scale tuner onboard here is unique for analog. If you do Indian and middle Eastern music this is a must have synth
Wow, thank you so much for the Kind Words Brian! I should have touched on the microtuning, a missed opportunity by me.
Yeah if it wasn't for the microtuning I would have gotten the roland se02 instead, but since I do electronic renditions of classical middle eastern music and Indian ragas this synth is an absolute godsend for me.
Man, I wish I had my hands on an Se-02 already...need me one!
Yeah my buddy Dub Gabriel got one pre-release from Roland, they hooked him up with the tr08 a couple months before release as well.
Amazing quality video !
Thanks Jackson!
Good review, I own one myself actually. I am just curious, what could they have done differently to get a 10/10 review?
It’s tough, only one Synth I’ve ever used is like a 10/10...maybe the Sub37...the problem is I totally make these reviews based on my experience and enjoyment so scores kinda mean nothing and are jokes half the time haha. I’d say it’s as close to a 10/10 as it gets. The price and sound quality is just all there. That said I don’t love the sound for some reason, it’s good, really good...but I don’t love it in an emotional way.
Great content, subscribed! Wanted to ask what you think of the minilogue?
Wait this is today's video? I thought monologue was here some years ago. What a coincidence I thought. That explains why there were no used on eBay.. Great into, great review.
Hahaha, I totally caused a buying frenzy! This synth is so awesome, I'm still enjoying the presets and I have some tips to share in a video next week!
I've got to be honest I'm sold on the oscilloscope.
It's great, I think I'll name this the best synth for beginners! Maybe I'll do a video on it.
ugh! I want one now
BUY BUY BUY....or....win this one when I give it away on Instagram haha
THANK YOU BABY 💜👨💻
Love your vids, sir.
Can you have your sequence change key on fly by transposing (sort of like an arpeggiator)?
Awesome video review.👍👍👍👍👍😎
Please do the minilogue too please please
great stuff man. if you ever get your hands on a microkorg or one of its friends,....
My first synth is the Volca Keys. From this demo, this sounds identical to what I have for 1/2 the price. I will use an Arturia Keystep as the keys, sequencer, and arp. I think I got the better deal.
You're definitely not wrong!
awesome video - sad there is no mod wheel on the monologue...:(...does it have after touch?
Stephen Wright that's so true, it's funny that I didn't notice missing it at all. If it had a mod wheel it would be close to perfection!
Im suprised - your outro jam was so funky I almost went to try to press some vibrato for you then noticed it wasn't there...
You can use the joystick as a modwheel instead of a pitch wheel. Its assignable in the menu
How much quality do you want?
Noir Et Blanc Vie
: Yes
Hahaha
Hm, everything is stylish about your channel. Very welcome in the midst of all the spec- oriented clone reviews.
Haha, this is pretty good, cool video
Newb question. Why would someone get a mono synth versus a poly synth? Can they do things the poly can’t do? Seems limiting to me.
Enjoying your channel! I found it when I went searching for the volca fm and your video for those were great. For the time being I’m going to stick with Dexed software but will keep my eye for a deal on the volca fm. Thanks!

Noir Et Blanc Vie yeah makes sense. Thanks for the reply!
You're very welcome :)
Great synth indeed. My only complaint is that for being an analog synth, it doesn't have any kind of CV/Gate I/O. But I still like it very much.
I do agree, that would be freaking an amazing combo!
hell yes!
Haha, I hope that means you liked it!
