You can see that Oliver has been really well brought up by Petter and Pernilla, he's very humble not cocky because of who his dad is. Now he is earning his own respect in rally sport, fair play to him.
I feel like the driver/codriver nature of rally makes it way more personal and grounded than F1. You could never have a drive with a family friend in one of those cars, in a rally car it’s possible to connect generations this way. Was really cool to see the driver switch to calling the corners, makes me want to have that as a bonus stage.
You have the same facial expression even when you are a passenger as when you drive, Oliver. 😉The difference was that you looked a little nervous 😰when Julian started to speed up and skid a bit. It looked great fun anyway. 🤩
Yes not bad at all. But Oliver, pleas stay in the left seat where you belong. Why? you sound like my mother in law when i drive her to the saturday bingo! hahaha! Going literally Bonkers...-"this is my favourite part" :D big respect to the ALL rally drivers Of course also not professionals :) this is something special 🤘🔥
This is amazing. I am so happy I have become more interested in this sport. So much passion and commitment. Also cant wait to see what Solberg does in the upcoming rallies.
best motorsport and sport if you ask me .. even when i was a kid and i really didn't understand it so deeply and comprehend all the engineering and all this stuff that goes into it .. rally just left me baffled from like 7 years old to now at 32 haha im gonna go to Rally Croatia next year hopefully .I am croatian so.
That's very entertaining. Oliver, like Petter just seems like a really nice guy. I spoke with Petter in New Zealand 20 years ago before day 2 stages began in the WRC event around Waipu, he was very friendly.
Met him once at Elmia in Jönköping in 2014 I think it was. Very approachable and friendly. I got the feeling that he saw himself as a regular mortal that happened to be a professional driver in motorsport and not letting his fame get to him.
You have forgotten that EA had bought codemasters. So..... there is a good chance it won't be as good as you think it is going to be because EA will have input in it as well as codemasters
@@dragonhunter2271 I don't think so, it seems that codemaster will still have controll on development. But Codemaster also have strange behaviours, DR2 is a awesome game, but at the beginning, the game was missing a lot of content and in total was really expensive.
@@AlexanderMiller-u9u its a combination of speed and the skilles involved driving that fast. I never droven a car but im ready to setup a race simulator and start learning dirt rally 2.0
@@BigDaddyMacc I get it, you need a lot of dedication to get where they are, and you REALLY need dedication to keep your foot in (keep the gas pedal down) on some corners in the stages they run. Also, sim setups are quite expensive. A Logitech rig will run you $550-$600 with everything, and my setup is still a beginner setup and costs about $1000. You also need a bit of free time on your hands to get good at sim racing, as I've done it for about 1 full year and am nowhere near the top level. It takes a lot of dedication, learning and practice to actually get good at it. I'm just forewarning you as it may seem ridiculously hard at first, but it will get easier as time goes on. Also, you can 100% transfer those skills to IRL with any rally builds you do.
Now i understand they start the race with second gear .....but out of curiosity....why they use second instead of first... even though first has high torque
Similar to like when Jeremy Clarkson get a ride with the late great Richard Burns in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 3 in 1996. The only difference was Jeremy not allowed to take the wheel of that Evo 3 from Richard
Dang! Hyundai closed the line of Veloster 1.6 T & N, i30, and iONIQ hatchback. If they kept maintaining and selling various N models… it wouldn’t be bad ( stupid hyundai, give us rally models too!

well well well
This did not age well.
nah
@@angel_lunar what happened
@@c.winsmarl he did some rallys on wrc but wasnt that good, but at the same time is young so maybe he get another chance to shine
First time listening to Oliver. Such a mature and friendly personality
You can also see him in Subaru launch control season 7. When he drove for them in the US.
Just like his father

That was great! Loved watching Oliver's expression, been a fan of his parents since way back when.
Good job by Julian don't you think? I was only a little bit scared...😅

Probably not half as scared as he was 😅, well done in Monte Oliver very mature drive even with you head wrecked with the fumes...

Can't deny I'm a bit jealous, this must quite the experience driving these amazing cars. Loeb called them "toys" once, it's easy to see what he means.
wow.. crazy!! 5th gear, trees on both sides, questionable grip at times... these guys are a different breed imo
What a nice kid, that Oliver guy. Very humble and welcoming getting Julian comfortable again. I hope they do more content together.
Great perspective from both Oliver and Julian👍👍

The Solbergs without a doubt, The Best. very nice family.
“You know” 😂😂 Love it hahaha
The kind of aura that that car releases is the complete opposite of the one behind the wheel. This guy is gonna thrill us for years to come.

Not exactly a "how to" but still fun to watch!
Super Oliver. Him and Kalle Ranvanpera are WRC's future!
It's my dream to do that one day
Huge thumb up for this, especially cause he said "here in Finland, home of rallying"
Pure professionalism, these guys are elite no doubt. Those trees go wizzing by.
Mr Porter. Thank you for the Great dokument and bringing a new rally2 car into the seen.
Man that camera pov looks like as if they're on warp speed
They ARE lol 🤣
Camera don’t lie
It's some fov thing. Makes it seem faster than it is.
150+ km/h down a gravel road through the trees, barely wider than the car, no matter who you are, is going to feel like warp speed, lol.
A thoroughly nice guy and an incredibly talented driver. We are watching a future work champion. His parents must be so proud.
Love you Oliver! I'll go for a drive ANYTIME!!!
Kid's a genius. Reminds me JOE 90!. great video
Wow. Such young and casual talent.
So humble..Oli...best wishes for your career
Oliver calling out pacenotes was relaxing idk why though 😅 can't wait to see him in Rally1
Can't wait see Solberg family at New Zealand rally in a few weeks time bring it on 😃

Julian, you did a mega job, absolutely. Chapeau!
damn hill start in 2nd! what a mad lad
