Mika missing his cat is the most adorable thing :3
Mika and DC losing their minds should be an ad for WRC, so so good
Yeh, "Holy fuck!" has always summed rallying up perfectly well.
I can hardly believe that the guy that overtook two cars in one move at the end of the kemmel straight begged Kalle to slow down. That's Rally !
Right!
But I think it just feels different when you're not the one in control.
Do you really think they were scared? The only thing they were scared about is someone else driving..
@@markkulehtinen4733 Ikä tekee sitä...
@@markkulehtinen4733 when your windshield looks sideways at the passing trees you sure worry
The thing is: when you know how to drive you also know how little it takes for it to go straight to hell.
Mika and David, perhaps the most legendary team mates in all of racing history. These guys were basically married for 7 years at McLaren - to my mind still the highest ever point of the team. Yes, Senna and Prost maybe raced at a higher level, but their ugly, aggressive rivalry scarred the team and the sport more than it left a lasting positive impression. You always get the feeling that Hakkinen and Coulthard truly respected each other and always worked for the betterment of the entire team. Bringing them together in the present day always guarantees a good time. There's so much love for these fellas in the entire motorsport community to this day. And I'm glad they experienced the naked violence of a Rally1 car on gravel. I rate rally drivers as being much, much better than even F1 drivers, so Mika and David having panic attacks while Kalle attacked the Sardinia stage made me so happy.
I'm not disputing anything about how crazy sport rally is. But it's also a very common theme that when you are good driver (in any category), you are a terrible passenger at high speeds. 😃 Often good drivers have a need to be in control and they also understand the margin of error in a higher level than others.
@@magicofshootingstar5825 It's because there are so many more variables in rallying than in circuit racing. It's not just the unpredictability of the circuit grip; it's also the unevenness of the surface. Hit a bump in just the wrong place while at high speed and there's almost no way to save the car. It all happens on real world roads, so your reactions and feel with the car, as well as car control, rhythm, scope of commitment and anticipation have to be so much more developed - all while processing information from your co-driver.
@petertromp8786
I understand that but I'm just saying rally drivers are often as scared if they get to go to be passengers in two-seaters. Or Indycar. Or other disciplines 🙂
@@magicofshootingstar5825 There's a difference between being naturally scared because you're a passenger instead of the driver, and what Mika and DC expressed, because they experienced the brutality and speed of modern day rallying on gravel for the first time.
Higher level? Mika won 2 WDC's out of 3 seasons he had a competitive and reliable car. People still don't understand how fast he was.
Wrc is very underrated sadly.
With more manufacturers like the old day's it will be much better than any motor racing. These guys are on another level.
You are right. They are much, much better than any F1-Driver. Walter Röhrl said, that F1 is Children Birthday against WRC and earlier Rallye-WM. And what Walter said is the thruth.
i think wrc is getting very popular again soon
@@vb917 Walter never drove in Finland. Not one to call anyone participating Children Party.
Onhan se ihan sairasta ku F1-legendat huutaa ”slow down please!”🤣
Kalle blinked twice. Once at the start, once at the end!
David and Mika seem both very laidback and humble guys. Unlike Hamilton and Rosberg for example. Great to see Finns and Scotts getting along.
I think Scotts and Finns get along quite well overall. We are both people of north, and as a finn, i have some weird feeling/understanding that there is same kind of stubborn warrior attitude in Scotts...am i right or on completely wrong tracks here??
youare not wrong :)@@phm19880
@@phm19880 Could be. Finns were also always the underdog and constantly being pestered by either the Swedes or the Russians - the Scotts had the same experience with the English.
I do think Lewis and Nico will one day get along, when Lewis finally retires.
Some F1 team should give Kalle a proper chance to try their car. Like first at the simulator and then a long session at the track. Would be awesome to see how it went.
Kalle is a beast🇫🇮
Mika and David the best team forever! 💙 This was fantastic fun ride. 🤩
LOL!!! This video put a HUGE smile on my face.. Thank You Kalle.
their reactions where hilarious lmao, this man Kalle gave them a near death experience lmfao
Mikka closed his eyes !😁 the man the scared Michael Schumacher wow . I never thought that I would ever see that in my life .
I just wish Michael could be in the car with them, sharing stories and having a great laugh
GG Kalle, scaring two F1 legends....luvvit :P
we want Kimi next video.... come on bring him here so there legends reunion.... :D
3 Kings in a video!
That was genuinely fun to watch!! :) I think that they had fun too 😆
To have DC mika hakkinen and kalle rovanpera all in the same video is an absolute masterpiece
That was brilliant 🎉
Rally the KING !
You can never have enough DC & Mika!
Nonii, seuraavaksi Kalle F1 puikkoihin 😮

@@LegoGBlok Oho, on kova juttu jos näin on ✋
Kalle osaa vaan liu'uttaa
David has talked about this rally ride alot since it happened!! he is really impressed
I wanna see what Kalle can do in a single seater! DC and Mika pls make it happen!
Kalle into F1 car in the future, absolutely
He's insanely talented, and essentially a mirror image of Max (former pro raising their kid from a young age.)While ive got NO doubt he has the talent, open wheel is such a different enviroment I doubt he'd be on the pace immediately.
@@AmbientMike Well if Loeb was on pace during his F1 test, why couldn't he?
@@RecycleFinn He was on pace, but wouldnt have had the pace to be a frontrunner.
They're both talented in different ways too, Loeb a former gymnast so hes got that natural balance and agility. Kalle, pretty much raised to drive offroad, so shows why his rally/drift skills are so good. Ive got no doubt he'd impress but prob not as quick as loeb could
Damn, you've set the bar soooo high with this video, hats off!
Its effin hilarious to see those F1 legends piss their pants 😂 Total respect to all of them...rally drivers are kind of the most hard core drivers of racing.
I'm glad Mika and David remained friends since a time when they were team mates.
To be continued?? Oh yeah!!! I'm definitely Subscribing!!
Holy shit, 3 insane drivers!
The funny thing is, Kalle wasnt even full speed since he didnt have his co-driver :D
Its always fun to watch the passenger rides, especially with the cars getting faster every year. Cant wait to see Kalle in something different than the drift or rally car, he can do it all.
The comments after the ride are too hilarious 😂
Mika says to Kalle... really don't drive that fast .. please😂😂😂
I would like to see Mika and DC do more stuff together. I miss that era of F1.
Red Bull might have a slightly faster car now, but when Mika was champion, the McLaren was nearly a second faster than the rest of the field...
So happy I have met Mika and got to have a nice chat with him.
Vau, tää on ihan parasta sisältöä, Kalle! Mika's and David's - the ex-rivals - dynamic, cheerful and genuine interaction is so pleasant to watch. And when it's coupled with Kalle's cool, yet respectful interaction makes it even more pleasant. Thanks!
Motorsport's past and future met. Great video👍
Put Kalle in an F1 car and give him a few days with it
this is amazing with both f1 legends
Great video, thank you all...
Ihan super hauska video ja kyllä pääsivät kovan mestarin kyytii❤😂😂🏁🏁🇫🇮🇫🇮
Excellent excellent excellent my two favorite F1 drivers of all times, and still best friends. But rally drivers is a class of its own🙌🙌🙌
Senang liat mika dan dc tetap kompak sampai tua
Oh! So, this is the video DC talked in the podcast! Can't wait for the next one! 😄
Which podcast did they mention this?

Definitely, a great advertisement that gives a lot of positive vibes and represents a genuine friendship.
And Sardinia is a slow rally, imagine Mika and David on a rally Finland stage
Its not the speed, that scares them. Its the xombined conditions.
Insane how this guy won the QRC at age 23. That's nuts.
This series will be epic as it is #1 so far...; well done gentlemen Kalle, Mika and David...and Unibet ;-)
Here, Formula 1 drivers see what real motorsport is all about. Rally drivers are the true kings of motorsport !!!!
Amazing what a people!
I'd love to see Kalle take them both on a section from Rally Finland, then Mika and Kalle can introduce David to a Finnish cultural experience (food qnd leisure activity). But if Mika and David were shitting themselves in Sardinia, the yumps and speed in Finland will blow their minds.
Needs to be longer. Needs to be on tv or streaming! These two travelling around in different cars with different guests.
That gave them a new respect for rally drivers 😀
mikas swearing somehow didn't make it into the translation haha
I think the grandpas will remember that blender rest of their lifes 🤣
Now you can see who are the actual superhuman drivers: the WRC rally drivers, of course!
Niin pirun hyvä video! Formulalegendoille vähän kyytiä! 🤣💪 Näitä lisää❤
They should do this in Finland on those super faster roads with bigger jumps :D
😂
I've always thought the co-drivers are even crazier than the drivers. For Coulthard it was an out of body experience to just sit there. Now imagine reading pace notes like both of your lives depended on it.
Both of their lives depend on the actions of both of them, and for sure both are scared of their own actions and those of the other. But should be about the same level of fear for both. Why would anybody be scared of a world-class driver being behind the wheel of a million-dollar car, by the way? Not only he can drive thousands of times better than you and me, he also has as his Number 1 Rule to avoid crashing at all costs. Every racing and rally drivers must avoid crashing, even if that means compromising speed. Not only due to the expensive equipment, but also because crashing means losing heaps of time or even the end of your race. That in turn means you can't keep driving and using that experience to improve your skills.
@@zwjna I would certainly be very scared as a passanger no matter who was driving. That being said, I would be more than happy to drive a rally car and push myself to the limit. The difference is in the feeling of control. For the same reason I love racing but I hate rollercoasters.
@@janbo8331 Damn, I would love too. Any car, on proper gravel stages. I see we are fellow simracers, so at least we are lucky for having that these days!
Have you tried RBR with NGP7 physics? Nikolay Gryazin uses it to train for real life. Kalle himself and Teemu Suninen have played it, too, and agreed it's the most realistic. That hypes me even more to do IRL rally.
@@zwjna I have not actually!. I should try it, thanks for the tip. Haven't driven RBR in a long time to be honest. The last time was probably in a competition during Neste Rally Finland.. long time ago. You like it better than Dirt Rally, for example?
@@janbo8331 As far as realism goes, I indeed like it better! It's been a long time since I don't play Dirt Rally [1], but I can remember some things. Here they are: the exaggeratedly high grip on loose surfaces, specially when going sideways, and the very low weight of the cars. Weight transferring is not much of a problem, nor a need. That is specially noticeable with the Group B cars, which in real life were so understeery and unresponsive and needed some aggressive driving to make them turn. Some of them had permanently locked differentials, and they all had very primitive AWD systems. Yet on Dirt Rally they steer immediately and are faster through the stages than WRC cars, which is for sure not realistic at all.
The Monte Carlo stages are icy and snowy, but they feel extremely grippy - compare with [2]. The cars on tarmac feel like driving on gravel but with much more grip. They slide laterally easily, which for sure can't happen with proper tarmac tires and the high grip of the sealed surface. They should feel more like a train.
Hairpins are quite easy with the AWD cars on Dirt Rally: there's no risk of spinning the car immediately if you throw the rear around too fast and you don't have proper throttle control. I don't quite remember now, but I believe I was throwing the cars sideways around hairpins, going flat on the throttle, and nothing would happen; just drive off nicely. This is a common source of controversy in the world of NGP physics, in which it's easy to lose control on the hairpins. People believe AWD cars shouldn't spin on tarmac hairpins. Most likely they don't know they can setup the cars to avoid that, and that such spins also happen in real life - and that for sure WRC drivers avoid spinning at all costs on them, since there's very little time to gain in those, but a lot to lose.
As far as joy goes, I like both!

The F1 hero of my young age united with my Rally hero of my not so young age
loved the video. great content.
Oh how I miss the days of Mika and David in that silver McLaren, my favourite tem and drivers for years. Always rooted for them in my teens.
I've always thought that rallying is the best though and takes more bravery than any other mainstream motorsport, including F1. And looking at the reaction of those legends, I've been proved right.
Also, Kalle's a super talent and win will many more WRC championships, unless he gets bored soon.
This is such a wonderful video!

I have similar hopes for Kalles career too. As a finn, i have of course white/blue colored point of view, and i was really proud 23 years ago about statistics of wrc championships. That time there were only two driver who have 4 championships( and nobody didnt have more than those ofc) Kankkunen and Mäkinen, both finns. Then after Grönholm (2 x championship) we didnt have finnish champion. Those frenchmen really spoiled our party. It is worth to mention that in finland nobody dont have nothing else than huge respect for those two french and for every champion in general. With Kalles last year championship, i can tell u that many folks in Finland was having a feeling like title is coming home. We feel littlebit like its our neighbourhood. There have been 7 Finnish champion, since the very beginning of sport. We dont have so many thing where we can be proud and be noticed in international stages. Wrc is like that, sometimes F1 also. "If you want to win, you need to hire a finn"
