Isn't your rear camera on all the time though since you're hooked to the battery ? It may not be displaying anything unless you go into reverse, but seems you could be using some amount of battery for the camera all the time ? I'm no expert, but I have installed a few and usually I hook the power into the 12V switched reverse wire.
I have a 2012 Cadillac Cts Coupe 3.6L, would this work for mine? Every time I go into reverse the screen is just black. Been like that since I purchased the vehicle and I would love to get it fixed!
I would say yours would be easier because all of the wiring is ran already. You should only need to replace the camera. This particular camera wouldn’t work with your factory system though.
