- In this video I show you how easy it is to remove the chrome outlets on your 2014-2016 base or VSport Cadillac CTS so that you can install quad exhaust outlets.
Exhaust tips need to be 2.5" inlet and 3.5" outlets for stock CTS bumpers. They should be short...like around 9 inches. Also, staggered.
You can go 4" for the real V diffuser. Here are a few 3.5" outlet tips:

Got my V-sport 2 days ago and it's the dream car I didn't even really consider (I saw a V at a car show in 2017 and REALLY liked it but was more influenced by the 2000's car scene). Always wanted a GTR "cause its fast." Been driving a comfy honda accord sedan for the past 10 years, which made me appreciate the comfort of a roomy sedan for daily tasks. Then the CTS V-sport came into my life. Not a crazy V8 but a perfect turbo-charged v6.

Also I painted the inside of the quad tips Black Chrome. With the Burnt Blue tips the Black Chrome inside really pops. I sealed it with a high temp Clear coat. Looks amazing.
Thanks for the video. This worked great for removing the bumper on my '17 CTS-V. The only additional step was disconnecting the exhaust valves.

Pretty dope dude!! I actually didn't even have to remove the bumper to get my V tail lights out. I made a half-assed video on getting those out, but now that I see it isn't so bad, I'll be removing it completely to re-wrap the tail lights at some point.
Front bumper next? Lol. I was under it the other day and saw like 40 7mm screws and said phuk dat! Lmao

I did the ATS-V rear conversion on my ATS 2.0T which isn’t really much quad tips of course and it makes a huge difference look wise.
One thing to clarify since I may not have communicated it well. The exhaust shop does not remove the bumper. The only reason to remove the bumper is to get the chrome outlets off and then you reinstall the bumper. The shop will cut off the piping going out of your muffler and bend new pipe to center the quad tips in the holes.
Also, please don’t drive the car hard until the tips get welded on. There’s a chance the bumper won’t hold up to hot exhaust from high power runs.
Man the exhuast shop i just went to told me nope. Geez. Gotta find someone else. He claimed he need to remove the bumper
@@blessethishe some don’t want to think outside the box. The only argument I would provide to him is that everyone else that had this done did not remove the bumper to install tips. The bumper has to be on to get the tips properly aligned. And exhaust shop that doesn’t think it’s possible it’s probably one that’s not capable

I installed 2 Flowmaster Super 10’s with burnt Blue Quad tips on my
2014 CTS 3.6VVT V6 & man oh man what a differences in sound & performance. Did not delete the resonators. If you would like to know how it sounds take it from me it sounds amazing and it’s not insanely loud either. Specially when cruising down the freeway it’s quiet but when you just give it a little throttle or stomp on it man oh man the sound is great. But from a dead stop the car really does Accelerate a lot faster and sounds mean. The burnt Blue exhaust tips really pop specially since my CTS is Diamond White Tricoat color. Love it. Hopefully this helps anyone wanting to know how it would sound on just a 3.6L (non V). Thank you Daniel for the how to video. I really do appreciate all your videos and effort. Extremely helpful.

@@BBell-ib9in i do not anymore. I used to. But with what i stated it sounded great. I got nothing but compliments on it when I had it. I sold it and got a C7 06 Corvette.!
But you can’t go wrong with the Flowmaster Super 10!! if you delete the resonators, it’ll sound like crap and way too loud and not ride at all. But if you get rid of the mufflers and installed the super 10 it’ll sound mean specially, at cold start up.
Man those are so nice wish there was more for the 2012 CTS Base model. 3.0 ...I can't find anything good that's being offered from exhaust to headlights

Don't have many options, I think best bet is to have your mufflers replaced with some Magnaflows.

Do the tips have to be offset because I bought the black ones off savage and they are slanted but equal length
They don’t have to be. But the putter ones will stick out slightly more

No but you will need the muffler outlet pipes to be cut off and new ones installed to line up the tips with the opening

I dont think there are any manufactured setups for your car. You can do what some people do and remove the muffler completely but you will likely have some drone. Or just replace with two after market mufflers

Do you cut the original exhaust pipes? They seem welded on to the exhaust (seen at 3:58) but at 12:00 I see that those pipes seem to have already been cut off and nowhere does it mention this part.

That’s the work the shop does. The exhaust shop cuts off the pipes out of the mufflers to install new ones that flow toward the outlets better.

What if you wanna leave the holes with the v3 diffuser instead of the quad tips?
Your high temperature exhaust will melt the diffuser and sound will have more drone
Is it okay to install the savage diffuser first, then thereafter put on the quad tips? My exhaust Mechanic is telling me to put everything on first then he will install the tips
Yes you have to do it that way. Only way to know the tips are lined up properly. Also don’t drive hard without tips, you could melt the diffuser.

@@JetFuelOnly having trouble getting the dual tips welded. When the inserts were removed. At the very end of my pipe, the shape is oval. Was your ends oval? I think the pipe rounds out away from the ends.
Also, if the bumper is on, and the pipe is inside the bumper, the bumper doesn't need to come off to weld it? Do the exhuast shop suppose to cut at the very ends or way further back ?
Shop should cut the stock pipe at the muffler. Then build/bend a new pipe to attach the new tips to.
While pulling on the passenger side the end piece on the car where the bumper clips on broke off. So using jb weld to try and get it to stay but it’s a pain. Any tricks or ideas to get it to stick back on

Will a ats v exhaust fit on a 2018 ats 3.6?And im wondering the whole system up to the headers?
No. The only thing that may fit is the midpipe and rear section. Tips aren’t in the right position and the connection to your headers is very different as the V has downpipes from the turbos.

@MysticMann305 no sorry I meant to say that the ATS V pipes exit narrowed out the back so that won’t work either. You are better off adapting a VSport exhaust or something. Also a custom exhaust may not look as nice but works just fine.
@JetFuelOnly sounds like too much to deal with lol.Ill just get dual zzp or corsa exhaust and call it a day.Not long before ill have this car paid off then the real deal will come after.I raced a challenger scat pack a while back and he couldn't pull away top end up to 100mph.This car with just the NA v6 is no joke.I look forward to taking it to faster proms down the road to see what they can do with it stock platform wise.Thank you for the info sir
What size tips fit best in there?
3.5 inch I believe. The hard part is finding a quad tip short enough. Savage sells tips that fit
I have a 2016 cadillac cts 3.6 luxury and ive been to multiple shops now, i have the blackhorse racing tips and they are all telling me its not possible because the boxes on the side under the car and the closing on the bottom of the bumper. I already have my muffler delete so their is plenty of room to work with in terms of piping. What should i do?
This is a difficult situation. We know they can do it but to me it’s just competence. I say keep trying shops, but worst case maybe learn to remove the bumper. Go to the shop and get most of it disconnected so they/you can pull it off and on to make it work. Money talks. Also… I’m not sure if there’s more things obstructing the install on the 3.6
@JetFuelOnly yeah idk the main things they were saying were obstructing it right now are the little boxes on the underneath by the wheel well whatever those are and the bottom of the bumper cutout for the exhaust. Sorry if this sounds confusing, but I'll keep trying shops for now. Thanks for your time. I'm taking lots of inspiration from your build. Hopefully, i can get it to work. I did already remove the bumper to get the outlets off, though.
@zink9753 I know they want to drop the exhaust to install but not possible with cutout holes. They need to cut off the old, then build pipe toward the outlet and insert the tips from the outside and weld from underneath.

@JetFuelOnly finally got a shop, actually my local one 2 minutes from my house who were willing to put in the effort of bending the pipe correctly and what not. It was 100 dollars, but im satisfied for the craftsmanship required. Thanks for your help

If I was to remove the chrome inserts,..and replace bumper, then go to muffler shop and replace muffler with magnaflow and add quad tips....would they still need to remove bumper again?
They shouldn’t. Some shops say they need to but it’s been done many times with bumper on. Besides with the bumper off the tips can’t be aligned properly.

Jet Fuel Only I did it on my 2014 CTS & I love it. Installed Burnt Blue Quad tips with two Flowmaster Super 10’s exhaust and man oh man it sounds great. I only have the 3.6L (not V I wish saving up for a CTS-V someday baby) But this hot to video totally helped me. Check out my UA-cam video on what it sounds & looks like. Thx again Daniel.

What company makes the Quad exhaust tips for the CTS?
Thanks for the reminder, I need to put those in the description. You just need 2.5" inlet and 3.5" outlet tips. Many company's make them. Search Ebay or Amazon.

2018 can use a CTS-V diffuser as mentioned in the early part of the video. Savage Cadillac sells that too.
