Oh Also I want to ask. What did Zybrand use for the simulation? I usually use maya for water but I have also been looking at learning houdini. Just curious what he used for this. Thanks!
This is incredible! As someone who aspires to learn and to have my projects loved and enjoyed by the world, this inspires me! Do you have any VFX after effects courses that I can purchase? This is incredible work.
Thanks! I'm really happy with how it turned out, I suggest focusing on all aspects of shooting, vfx, editing, music, sound design etc, good way to find out which area you like best
VFX Productions I’ve been doing that for a year and so far all I have gotten for jobs is wedding photography. And people know me for my photoshops as well. But videography is what I like most but vfx has my heart. It’s tough 😰
@@CaseyGray58 it is tough I was just doing my own projects for years before I got hired for something and then I did years of free or really cheap work, keep at it and just try making different vfx projects and shots to learn from and you could build up a reel if you want
VFX Productions you have any tips on some beginner friendly vfx shots? Stuff I can pull off by myself? I get so overwhelmed looking at tutorials and not knowing what to start on. I know after effects and premiere and blender.. but I just got Nuke for a year and I really want to start using it. But where to start 😭 What was this sequence made with? Maya?
@@CaseyGray58 oh nice! I've never used Nuke I only use after effects and done tiny amounts in blender so far. I didn't do the water sims or pyramid that was all Zybrand the VFX TD who used Houdini. In terms of effects cloning is the main one people start out with, maybe trying interactions like handing yourself an object or something. Could try movie titles which I usually enjoy. Or trying a decent green screen shot matching lighting. And recently I've been studying existing shots from movies etc and either replicating them or doing shots heavily inspired by them and I feel like I've learned a lot from that when you actually try and break down what is going on
Exceptional high quality VFX for UA-cam, astonishing work man. You should really consider making a course (free or paid). I'd definitely watch it. How did you learn all this? I'm struggling to find tutorials with such high quality. Well done :)
Thank you so much, I have to say our VFX TD on this project created the pyramid and all water sims, I was the compositor so I was equally highly impressed with his work. For myself I just learned from tutorials from channels such as Videocopilot and Film Riot and working on my own projects trying to do different vfx things with each one to try out what I could do. Thanks :) I don't really have a keying technique, just shooting in 4K got me a lot of the hair keying well. I did though also have a black and white crushed contrasted duplicate of the footage set to screen for any hairs that didn't remian in the key so that helps show more strands

It's really amazing. I'm using after effects for 3 years, almost producing 3 small social media products per day, but I felt like using paint after seeing this. Also I made this Tekin KidsTV channel for my son with after effects and green screen keying.
Hello! Your work is incredible! I just have a question. How did you proceed with background tracking without background markers? If the entire screen is just a chroma key background, do I need a marker in the background? Don't you need any other elements to track around? (e.g., bricks, etc.) Help me.
Hey you are right that if the entire background is chroma there should be markers for moving shots, but with all the moving shots in this I had enough background information beyond the small green screen that I was able to track. The close up shot and far back shot behind her were both locked off on a tripod so those ones didn't need any tracking. But yes if the moving shots couldn't see any of the house exterior in frame then I would have added markers on the green screen. Hope this helps
@@VFXProductionsRT Thank you for your answer! It was very helpful. Could you upload the process of synthesizing it with Keying with After Effect? If I have to pay for it, I will!I really want to make a great work like your video.
Amazing Video! Truly inspiring. What part of After Effects was used to build the 3d background behind the actress? Ive searched all over for tutorials and cant seem to find anything. Perhaps im using the wrong keywords.
Hey thank you! Most of the background were still images in 3D space, that's usually called something like 2.5D matte painting or look into After Effects 3D layers. The ground rock section is done in the After Effects plugin Element 3D
the pyramid and fluid sims were created in Houdini and everything was comped in Adobe After Effects. I also used Element 3D for some of the clifs and rocks
Wow....its amazing. Im so excited lol !! btw, how did you make that 3d background like 0:26 ? And what do you call it? Last, did u use other programs such as maya? Thanks !
Thanks! So all of the cliffs, sky, ocean layers were 2D but set to 3D layers in after effects with different distances, then the ground and block of rocks on the left were .obj files in Element 3D. I only used after effects, Zybrand Jacobs who created all the pyramid ocean shots in Houdini :)
