100% would watch that so fast. I almost never skip a cool brown lip liner (NYX moonwalk) and have really been getting into everything contour with the Groundwork palette, but would love ideas for branching out

I love the idea of approaching one's face like painting on a canvas. There are few products in my collection that really allow me to do my makeup in that kind of "flow state" that you often describe. Those moments to me are incredibly special. ❤❤❤
Re:Tarte - my friends who wear makeup but aren’t “into makeup” all have Tarte eyeshadow palettes as their everyday go-to.
Kind of a condescending take imo, I regularly watch this channel and have Tarte palettes I like. I have health issues where some days I like a full face palette that doesn't require much thought.
@@NickaLahthe subtext is that you don't have to think about the makeup because it's made for only one type of skin tone.
It wasn't shade thrown at the users of Tarte but commentary about Tarte's lack of inclusivity.

You are a delight to this community on these dark winter days. I need to take a closer look at the Fenty stick tint and the concealer myself. I am 57 with oily combo non acne prone skin (thank you mom!) So I have been trying base products in an attempt to find The One. I have 6 going so far, plus 3 concealers, and I am still coming to terms with warm undertones and all so-called nudes turning peachy orange on my face.😂 but the big problem is creasing on my forehead and around my eyes! I do not want to mask the lines, I just don't want makeup settling in them. I have congenital heart disease, I am glad to be old enough to have wrinkles at all, I just want makeup to behave properly on my skin. ❤
So my mom swears by the Chantecaille future skin cushion. And she's 66!

I need longwearing foundations. I get ready in the morning around 6-7 am and I finish my day (classes) at 9 pm. So, 24 h sounds like promising to me. 12h foundations usually wear down around 8h.
Ack.. when Kackie has a good Ulta find (Rabanne) and I watch this an hour after placing an Ulta order. 😂😂
Obviously nobody is wearing foundation for 24 hours, but what I always hope they mean by that is that it will not break up or start looking patchy/flaky EVER. Tbh foundation always looks patchy around my dry areas by the end of even short days :( I use the it cosmetics cc cream and missha bb cream because they feel so moisturizing and full coverage but even they get dry eventually too. Any recs id appreciate. Gonna try Shiseido radiant lifting foundation next.
I don't need the ND Berry Face Palette, I already have a cool-toned red frankenblush, but it (and the cool-toned eyeshadow trend during the holidays) makes me hopeful to see more nuanced cool-toned lip/cheek releases instead of the same bubblegum pink color in a sea of otherwise warm-toned products.
Similarly, I was intrigued by the product shot of the CT lipsticks, but in the swatches it looks like the same old warm rose😴

I am so tempted by the new Chanel eyeshadow quad, Eclat de Nuit. I haven't tried the formula, but all the swatches and demos I'm seeing are very enticing. I think I will have to go to a store for this one, though.

Off topic, but glad to see you got the Sequel Mineral sunscreen. It really looked lovely on the skin. I generally can't use too much zinc because it dries my skin out, BUT i just might try that sunscreen in the summer.😊

I would LOVE some help on color theory.
I literally tried the Fenty concealer yesterday. The shade matches are really spot-on--as expected for Fenty--but I found it was exceptionally *drying* because it locks in place, but isn't really adaptive. I don't have dry under eyes, and I barely, barely have creases in there, but it made my skin look SO crepe-y, and while it didn't budge, it also meant it settled into the tiny creases and then just stayed put. Consistency and durability, it reminds me of the Tower 28, but extra matte (I'm shocked this is branded as "hydrating"). In retrospect, it feels very much like a concealer version of the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte foundation. It might work better with an undereye primer, but honestly, with so many great concealers out there, you shouldn't have to use a primer to make something work.
Your look today gives me cup-of-tea-and-a-good-book energy and I love it.
P.S. I would watch the shit out of all color theory content you could ever create. I’m bad at regular math so art math is the best I can do

Just for the factoid, the Twilight movies had a huge resurgence last year-ish when they were added to Netflix. Also, the fantasy-romance book genre is currently pretty big and that road leads straight back to Twilight. Plus plus Rpattz’s fiance is expecting so he’s in the news again. (Mostly I just get minor joy out of connecting all of these dots.)
So, I was skeptical about the Louboutin makeup but I'm a packaging addict, I ended up buying the Fetish Balm and while I was skeptic and thought "This is probably gonna go into my drawer of hey do you want this makeup", I can say that I am pleasantly surprised. I'm not a fan of balm formulas, but this one does it for me, I take it on travels or when I'm being very minimal about my makeup and want to brighten my under eye area and then MORE BLUSH! It's buildable coverage and looks like skin, I never wore the sponge applicator because I want to look as natural as possible and I find those to be highly unhygienic. So, I'm curious about the liquid foundation. This one might not be for you Kackie as I'm less dry than you are.
Will I buy it? Probably not, I repurchased my favourite foundation which is the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation, so I'm good for the moment. Will I live vicariously through your review of it? Hell yeah.
The color theory queen needs to help the people understand how the KKW lip liners are different colors…. Because they look all the same in the swatch photo! 🙏🏻 The lipsticks I see some differences and the palette 🎨 I have elsewhere, particularly with the makeup by Mario. Please help the people kackie! 😂

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new Tarte and Fenty concealers! I have SUPER finicky undereyes. Trying to cover the cobblestone patches I have going on underneath is an exercise in frustration. I seek out any concealer reviews I can find in the hopes of finding products that work.
The Fenty feels like it's formulated for oily skin. Which is great if you have concealer that breaks down quickly. Otherwise it might make under eyes wrinkly. 😢

I really wanna hear from someone about that dumb mint green Prada lip balm! All I’ve really encountered so far is disappointment that it’s not the beautifully bland tube from their sole prior beauty release (in the ‘90s, I think?). But I specifically am hoping this new one will be a matte, slightly sticky/primer-y, possibly vaguely minty balm that will be good for lip prep. I had this Ardency Inn lip primer years and years and years ago that was SO GOOD for that purpose, and it was a similar color stick. I finally settled on replacing it with a Boy de Chanel lip balm (similarly luxurious feeling experience and also matte, but not as primer-y). If the Prada can do it, I’m moving the Chanel to my purse and letting Prada take over at the beginning of my makeup routine!

In general, I feel like the Kardashian-Jenner girlies are far more committed to product development for their brands than I would have expected. I haven't experimented as much with their beauty lines, but Good American and Skims are good-quality, offer a wide range of sizes, and look good on all body types -- a trifecta that's a shocking rarity in apparel even in 2024.
That's not been the case for their skin care lines. Their promotional videos/ads show them mimicking the talking points but without ever having any personal commitment to the products themselves. For instance "This is a serum we developed that is hydrating with actives..." but no indication why they invested time/energy into that particular formulation. Hard to explain but they appear to be just figureheads and not actually invested in their beauty lines like other celebrity brands: Fenty, VB beauty, Rare beauty, etc.
I've not tried the clothing lines but I've also only heard good things.

Clé de peau has one foundation that is SPF free. It’s the radiant dewy cushion foundation. Of course it’s wildly overpriced at $110. I have been hoping for an eyeshadow quad review from you specifically in the shade sun-dried driftwood. However, I would take a review of any color way. Also, I always vote for anything color theory. I have even swatches lipsticks on myself and then on my friends and we are discussing color theory now and it’s all because of you!

I need my SPF to be at least 30 on a regular day, over 50 on a day when I will actually be hanging outside in the sun. Nothing they add to foundation is ever enough to matter, just makes it smell like sunscreen.

I have occasionally gotten sick after work& slept for 16 hours. So I suppose I have occasionally worn a full face of makeup for 24 hours.
I am never wearing my foundation for 24 hours; but, I do often need my make up to last 14-16 hours and so I would be more likely to expect a "24hr" foundation to last that long than one made to last 12 hours, if that makes sense?

Kackie I know your skin isn't that old, but I'd love to see you review some niche mature skin concealers like Fiera and Sisley. I am 44 with pretty young skin for my age but most concealers make my undereye look more textured than it is. So I ordered those two concealers to try... the Fiera is very putty/balm-like and I'm not sure what I thunk of it yet. it's definitely unique and special. At first I can see it on my skin more than I'd like, but if I look in the mirror 30 min later it is like it chemically mixes with my skin oil and disappears. it is weird. I ordered the Sisley concealer samples of Fragrancenet because its too expensive to gamble on a full size but it hasn't arrived yet.
Fiera has a crazy sale right now on the concealer plus they include a free brush, but the brush feels like a paint brush -- not great.
I have dry, mature under eyes and the Fiera didn't work for me 😒 I keep going back to the IT cosmetics (just a TINY amount) and the Haus labs. I'm starting to give up on concealer lol
Oh interesting thanks for the suggestions. I have oily mature skin but it's dryer this Winter so it has done a 180 from my Summer skin texture. Yes I agree about concealer. I finding that just obsessing about my skin barrier so my face doesn't need as much coverage is helping. And like you said, just the TINIEST amount of concealer allows for less performance issues
Um.. Kaja was not the first brand to bring these heart shaped blush stamps out. The only thing that is kinda theirs is the Bento products although similar compacts existed before too. Kaja repackages, rebrands beauty products that are already on the Korean market since they are a Korean beauty brand specifically targeted to sell to the US and Western market. No one in Korea ever uses or reviews their stuff and they don't innovate or develop anything...so Catrice copied the copycat 🤷♀️.... Huda constantly releases Korean beauty dupes /repackages Korean produced make up just like everyone else in luxury and high end.

The hours brands claim for foundation lasting power are starting to sound like how in the 90s razors just kept adding more and more blades. At some point it's like, why?! What can these extra blades/hours accomplish?!
I watch this channel regularly and like Tarte palettes 🤷♀️ I can't imagine I'm the only one that tries out a fair amount of makeup but likes a basic b*tch palette lol.
Some of my fave UA-camrs like a wide range of makeup, too, I know Emily Noel loves a full face palette. But I also watch Nikki La Rose, Morgan Turner, Jen Phelps, Thrift Thick, Jessica Braun, Teresa is Dead, Samantha Ravndahl, etc... so maybe I watch a wider variety of people?
Tbh, sometimes I debate between ND's I Need a Nude and a Tarte palette. There are just days my brain won't function and I know I won't go overboard with a Tarte palette, granted I do like to combine I Need a Nude with the Hourglass jellyfish palette.
I spent most my life only being able to afford drugstore, and the quality has only gotten better, so maybe I have a better eye for weeding through cheap makeup while appreciating more expensive stuff now 😊

Twilight is a terrible movie and story. BUT it IS a vibe, with the moody filter on the whole movie, and a pretty decent soundtrack. So I'll give it that, it's enough of an inspo for a color story. I'm waiting for colourpop to do a single piece of IP that isn't the absolute lowest hanging fruit.
