I work for a second hand media/games company and we constantly have copies of Pokemon games come in and it's always fun having a look at people's save games. I like to look through the save files when I get games from eBay. I always back them up on my computer just in case, like a couple months ago when I found a legit event genesect in Black 2 from 2011. Cart dumpers are especially valuable for the gbc games, since every now and then I’ll save my progress and turn the console back on a couple hours later to my cart pretending it’s never been played before
Great stuff! A cpl years ago I was snagging copies of Sun/Moon when I could find em for $10 or less on ebay. I found a few decent save files--nothing crazy but it IS fun to see what other players were up to!
I stopped playing after x and y so I guess I'll look back in mine eventually for memories. Funny enough I do see the save files before I delete them and useally they are pretty bad compared to when I play the game myself
Watching this reminds me of when I had to sell my copy of Pokemon Yellow. I hope whoever bought it enjoyed what I left for them. I left them a Mew, Pikachu, Vaporeon and other cool Pokemon and plenty of money so whoever got it after me would have a good spot to pick up from. I miss that game and I miss my old GBA SP.
Bro this video is nine months old and I randomly stumbled upon it to find that you have my brothers ruby version I still have the action replay used to get the master balls lol
I've always wondered what people would think if they booted up one of my games, particularly my pokemon Y. It's got over 700 hrs played on it, a completed national dex, and a bunch of awesome pokemon. All my shines have been traded to moon but still, that cartridge has a long story.
My bootleg versions of FRLG saved just fine (I even played a Nuzlocke for LeafGreen!) but the same can't be said of the ones for Ruby and SoulSilver I got.
Dude!!!? I swear that’s my old Ruby!!! I used to use TOM when I played when I was younger I used to use all caps because that’s how the games would name the Pokémon I remember selling it to get emerald
My first pokemon game was fire red and then I went back and played Blue and Gold. Of these Gold was my favorite early game for the longest time. From gen 1 to as late as Gen 5 I didnt really completely understand how types worked and I would build my team on the first 3 routes and though I tried to keep up on training my team, I always gave up on training everyone and used my top 3 strongest pokemon with me always defaulting to my starter. Needless to say I often found myself stonewalled at a gym leader or the elite 4 and rather than training my team to try to overcome the obstacle I started a new game and hoped my luck would be better in the new run. My first pokemon game I ever beat was Omega Ruby when I was 19. I always wondered how many new pokemon players just gave up at a gym leader or the elite 4 and how many powered through and beat it...
Not what I was expecting but still a fun video. I came across this while looking at people downloading save files onto a PC and looking at the contents that way. Got there from someone showing how to fix the clock in gen 3 games after the battery has died and been replaced, without starting a new save file.
The music in the background is the tutorial battle music from pokemon TCG 1 for the GBC. I loved that game so much. The sequel too, but you can only play it with a translation patch.
I remember having a Pokemon Y digital game on my old 3DS. But I had pawned it, and forgot that I even had it on the system. Til it was too late. I had lost the pawn and someone already had bought it. I had HELLA GOOD pokemon that I raised. I was sick for days over that.
15:28 It's a very small chance it actually is my copy that made it out of a Northern Californian GameStop and onto eBay, but the error code is the same as my former cart would throw up after a while of showing nothing but a black screen. I still have no idea what happened there, I apparently just played it so much it broke or something like that. Sorry if you did get it; I was at that age where my parents forced me to sell most of my old belongings for money and GameStop assured me they were going to dispose of it when they saw it didn't work.
huh, wild. Wouldn't be surprised by Gamestop trying to turn around and sell a broken game though. My first copy of Diamond (I didnt have it as a kid) i got there was broken, not AS Broken but it would freeze for no reason and the save would be corrupted. Freaked me out a bit tbh lmao. Any chance you messed around with the tweaking glitch? I wonder if messing that up can have some really adverse effects?

My brother doesn't have it anymore but something weird happened to a pidgey he left in the day care in i think red version. He left it before heading off to get the cut tm from the boat captain and he forgot he left it there and went on to beat the game and caught some other pokemon he wanted to train then he randomly remembered he left a pidgey in the day care and we all thought it was funny and tried to guess what lvl it could be since we were kids and never beat any pokemon game fast and so we chose a lvl and when he got it back it only went up 2 lvls and we were confused about it. He looked at its stats and the way the pidgey coloring looked was off. It seemed like it was a different color we knew about shinies which we called scaled from the red gyrados scale thing from silver version. But we knew shiny didn't exist in the old games and so we told him he should train it so it can evolve into a pidgeotto and we can see how it'll look with its new color. Thats where we saw the insane number of exp it needed to level up. I don't remember how much the level numbers are when you get a 100 lvl pokemon you know how it says its max exp it ever earned to reach that? It was that long BUT with one extra number and we were shocked. He tried but after a few days he was like he'll just keep it. I don't remember if we traded it over to silver to see if it followed its weird condition, but even to this day we laugh about it and how weird it was

In emerald it's in the aqua hideout. I don't think many people know about this so I just wanted to say it (Edit: lol the ruby is hacked)

I've bought lots of these from people, and the copy of Platinum I got from a 10 or 11 year old girl was by far the most advanced. She had everything, some shinies, a few dozen eggs. I bought a lime green DS with it and it was in immaculate condition.
Somewhere out there is my copy of pokemon moon with almost every legendary and mythical both in their regular and shiny forms. No clue what convinced me to sell it.

You do not really need it, in every Pokémon Center there is a map anyways, and with the limited bag space in gen 1, even if you get it, is very likely put away in the PC anyways.
interesting with Skarmory since it could be found in Route 113 which is the route that has the ash in it that takes you to Fallarbor Town of course I don’t know the rarity for it there that’s assuming that they traded for the Kyogre and didn’t cheat to get it yes Level 2 Zubat is only possible in SoulSilver via the Dark Cave and it’s via the Route 31 area so that would be legit if that’s what you see interesting info

How unlucky only one game was actually played. Although you should of checked that save's box and day care it would be interesting seeing something other than baby saves
I should have probably taken a video of the Japanese copy of HeartGold I bought. The person was probably around Kanto and they had a bunch of Sinnoh Pokemon from their Diamond/Pearl game. It came with a pokewalker that had a mm Magmortar sticker on it. I believe that was his favorite Pokemon since he had a bunch of magby in the PC as well as a high level Magmortar. Pokemon of note that I traded to my copy of Soul Silver include Infernape, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Latios (all with their specific held items), and some typical Sinnoh team Pokemon like Staraptor. I don't believe they cheated as there was nothing out of the ordinary.
They're so lucky to have lights on their Gameboy. My Gameboy doesn't have it... I remember my mother buy one that has external lights to plugging it in my Gameboy but I prefer not to plugging it because the battery is so expensive for me as a kid and it drains so fast.
I always watch videos like this to see if any of my missing games are being sold, I highly doubt it, those games probably got thrown out, but still, I wish I could see my Pokémon again. I lost Pearl, Soul Silver, Black, White 2, and I think I have the rest of my games. Also my sisters’ games, like Heart Gold, White, and Platinum. Even tho she doesn’t play Pokémon at all since HG, I’d love to see my sister’s legit shiny pidgeot she caught immediately named Goldy. Mostly I just miss my team members. Like Pearl, my first game, my first starter Empoleon, my Haunter that I didn’t know how to evolve, my naughty mischievous male Clefable named Ty that liked spicy food and clutched the raichu/gyarados double battle for me as a Cleffa… I also put TONS of love into my Black game, there were some hacked mons I got from trade tho lol……..
I buy a lot of used Pokemon games for shiny hunting purposes myself. Typically, the saves end up being uninteresting, however I have had two JP gen 4 games (one Heart Gold, the other Soul Silver) in which each had one legit-looking shiny Pokemon, those being Magikarp and Tentacool. Then I had another ENG Diamond where the trainer had nothing but Ditto, and we are talking so many Ditto, all from different regions with unique IDs. It was a completed game too, with over 600 hours and a completed Dex.
There’s a copy of Yellow out there saved as Josh about halfway through the game that has a NidoKing in the line up that I played when I was younger. It wasn’t mine, I borrowed the game for a while and by now it’s probably been sold.
I remember getting Pokémon oras and I got the game finished, their pokedex was complete and I transfer all their Pokémon to home. I also have their shiny mew.
I always find this so interesting. If I can I try to trade all the legendaries, fossil pokemon, eevee of its an older game, and the persons starter to my main cartrage of that generation before deleting the save file and playing it for myself. Never know when you will need a spare rare pokemon!
I ended up collecting all the games In was missing for pokemon over the last year and a half and found a a few interesting saves: Omega ruby with a few lvl 100 shinies (probably hacked) Black 2 with over 100 hours in game and a lot of pokemon caught Ruby with a random shiny Shroomish.
I remember going to block buster and seeing pokemon diamond and just wanting the game so badly and now that I think about it I’m sure it wouldn’t even be able to save
My 3ds and my copy of Pokemon diamond have the exact same issue in that it won't register that the game is in there most of the time. I think it's just age

@@jackforde4883 I'm nearing the end of my run on crystal and the dreaded problem returns: can't transfer them off without hacking a 3ds -_-
I like to look through the save files when I get games from eBay. I always back them up on my computer just in case, like a couple months ago when I found a legit event genesect in Black 2 from 2011. Cart dumpers are especially valuable for the gbc games, since every now and then I’ll save my progress and turn the console back on a couple hours later to my cart pretending it’s never been played before
16:50 That Onyx is most likely the in-game trade Onyx, since that one is also called Rocky.
I love the Pokémon trading card game music. Brings back memories
Funny enough I do see the save files before I delete them and useally they are pretty bad compared to when I play the game myself
most unbelievably underwhelming one of these i’ve seen
im just watching this channel again, last time i watched it was years ago when you always made splatoon videos
Wow you left a pikachu on pokemon yellow? Thanks!!
It was a surfing Pikachu; I got Surf on it using a friend's copy of Stadium and Transfer Pak.
Damn you’re a nice person but why did u have to sell it rip
It's complicated but, I needed the money bad.
I love how you get so enthusiastic about 22 minutes playtime, 1 pokémon and a town map
Bro this video is nine months old and I randomly stumbled upon it to find that you have my brothers ruby version I still have the action replay used to get the master balls lol
Something so somber about old save files. It's like a lost world
nice to hear the OSTs from the trading card version here
God damn man, the amount of beautiful gameboy Pokémon games you have is amazing.
My bootleg FRLG didn’t let me finish pokemon league without crashing and erasing everything
The Onix in the SoulSilver one is most likely the one you get in a trade.
Dude!!!? I swear that’s my old Ruby!!! I used to use TOM when I played when I was younger
I used to use all caps because that’s how the games would name the Pokémon
I remember selling it to get emerald
Got there from someone
showing how to fix the clock in gen 3 games after the battery has died and been replaced, without starting a new save file.
The music in the background is the tutorial battle music from pokemon TCG 1 for the GBC. I loved that game so much. The sequel too, but you can only play it with a translation patch.
“Dozens” that’s such a big understatement I can’t even explain how big of an understatement it is
I remember having a Pokemon Y digital game on my old 3DS.
@@RelicCipher Ahh, I definitely did. Details are hazy but yeah that would most likely be why.
@@RelicCipher GameStop doesn't do quality assurance. If it boots up, they'll sell it. Whether or not it's actually doing anything.
They'll sell you GBA/DS bootlegs and not notice or give a shit, because the company doesn't give training to spot them. They couldn't give a shit less if a customer gets a fake as long as they don't figure it out before the refund period is up.
good chance the contacts on the cartridge could be dirty, he should attempt to clean it with some 91% isopropyl alcohol and a qtip
Sad they made you sell stuff
It’s always fun getting preowned Pokémon games it’s always fun to know what Pokémon might be on it
I REALLY should get into the pokemon series..
true
You should detach from the world and focus on God. This world is only temporary. You can play Pokemon after the resurrection. Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is Rome that is the beast. We know the book of Revelation was circulating in the 1st century AD so we can conclude that 1) God is real and can tell the future of make it happen 2) The governments, leaders, nations etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years to accomplish this roadmap set in place by the Israelites or 3) Both of the above. You don't really need to speculate though because you can start a relationship with God and know the truth.
Call on the name of Jesus, pray for Him to intervene in your life and look for the motion of His hand. Listen, as God speaks in many ways. Revelation 3:20 - "Here I am; I stand at the door and knock if anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will eat with them and they with me"
My brother doesn't have it anymore but something weird happened to a pidgey he left in the day care in i think red version. I don't remember if we traded it over to silver to see if it followed its weird condition, but even to this day we laugh about it and how weird it was
I just love the music! Great way to honor the Pokémon Trading Card game!!
Recently purchased a ton of the old games I used to have. Y, OR, SM, Emerald, FR. All had some progress. Y has a legit Shiny Xerneas, OR has two shiny Pokémon as well. Was really stoked to see the treasures in the games😁
I got a Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and it had a save file of over 300 hours. I’ve always wondered who played it that much. They must have absolutely loved it.
Probably me then.
JK people can pry my copy of FFTA from my cold dead hands.
.... The Gameboy color Pokemon Trading Card game music sent me waaaaaaaaay back.... I had completely forgotten about it
"Didn't waste the master ball on groudon"
Me: I think they just couldn't find it. In ruby and sapphire the master ball is in the evil team leaders office in the hideout. In emerald it's in the aqua hideout. I don't think many people know about this so I just wanted to say it
(Edit: lol the ruby is hacked)
every time i see a video exploring a soulsilver save file i check to see if its the copy someone stole from me in high school... it never is, but maybe one day i'll find it. i miss you spiky eared pichu
Too bad that save files are now saved on the console, we’ll never be able to do this with the switch
I've bought lots of these from people, and the copy of Platinum I got from a 10 or 11 year old girl was by far the most advanced. She had everything, some shinies, a few dozen eggs. I bought a lime green DS with it and it was in immaculate condition.
bro if you don't clean that 3ds i'm going to throw up
When I was young my dad bought me leafgreen and when I loaded it up it still had a save and it started right in front of zapdos
Somewhere out there is my copy of pokemon moon with almost every legendary and mythical both in their regular and shiny forms. No clue what convinced me to sell it.
I have it
The ones named blue were probably just the seller testing if the save function was still working
On November 21, 2021; Me And My Asian Fiancée (Maya) Are Finally Getting Married, We’re Getting Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Pokémon Shining Pearl For Our Wedding Presents.
You know whats really creepy is the gameboy camera save files

Haven't watched him since the pokemon red for the 3ds
You wouldve loved exploring my Omega Ruby cart. I did a 100% completion, with 300 HOURS sunk into the game, and had started shiny hunting. Definitely was fun, wish I had kept it.
Don’t forget that people with those early saves could have restarted the game out of boredom.
I have a fake version of soul silver but I don’t really care
Dumps nearly a grand on the table
My brain: that's a beautiful sound lol
love how you use the pokemon trading card game soundtrack :+1
idk why but this vid makes me want tell everyone about my first playthrough of a pokemon game ever! my first game was pokemon y for the 3ds and this my team going into the champion fight and beating her.
Greninja
Charizard
Vileplume
Krookodile
Heliolisk
Reuniclus
watching the ruby part of this video gave me legit flashbacks. I remember naming my character tom even though thats not my name on my brothers ruby bc i had sapphire. i wasnt shy to a gameshark either back then. wonder if mine ended up in this video many many years later LOL!
The ruby version around 13 min, the relicanth and wailmer was probably to get the regis
I put this video while playing trough my own Blue Version. 6:21 “they get the got the Town Map! A lot of people miss that.” well, back to pallet town
You do not really need it, in every Pokémon Center there is a map anyways, and with the limited bag space in gen 1, even if you get it, is very likely put away in the PC anyways.
@@Naluh I actually didn't used it. I have played through Kanto so many times I know my way around.
interesting with Skarmory since it could be found in Route 113 which is the route that has the ash in it that takes you to Fallarbor Town of course I don’t know the rarity for it there
that’s assuming that they traded for the Kyogre and didn’t cheat to get it
yes Level 2 Zubat is only possible in SoulSilver via the Dark Cave and it’s via the Route 31 area so that would be legit if that’s what you see
interesting info
Just got a copy of Platinum that had the set of shiny dogs from the gamestop event that allow you to get Zoroark legitimately in Gen 5.
My Yellow cartridge still holds save file very well after all those years im impressed
That fake game reminded me of 2 fake games my dad got me from China while he was there, completely clueless about how they'd be fake since he is pretty clueless about Pokemon in general.
Shining Gold and Shattered Crystal.
Haven't even looked at them for years because I know it would be pointless.
That blue X 3ds is still my favourite of the DS family!!
How unlucky only one game was actually played. Although you should of checked that save's box and day care it would be interesting seeing something other than baby saves
I also bought a fake copy of emerald. Reading “the game can be played” after turning the game on kinda ruined the rest of my day
"Just started the game there" *Has 7 badges*
They probably replaced the batteries and made sure it saved. Bummer but makes sense lol it’s always exciting to see what Pokémon people had.
" oh that was uhh exsesive " * casually shows a nintendo 3DS XL pokemon game *
Forgot to check the Pokemon boxes, that kyriuge could have been on the cart still
Ags101 brings me back at least 13 years+
I was hoping to see some end game content and what team they used.
Not this
sad
Blowing on a DS game will usually get it to show on the home screen, in my experience.
For the Diamond, you may need to lightly sand/scratch down the contacts or polish it with a qtip+IPA
I remember getting Pokémon oras and I got the game finished, their pokedex was complete and I transfer all their Pokémon to home. I also have their shiny mew.
I have all my pokemon games in a safe with the keys hidden away. I can't afford for them to be destroyed
I always find this so interesting. If I can I try to trade all the legendaries, fossil pokemon, eevee of its an older game, and the persons starter to my main cartrage of that generation before deleting the save file and playing it for myself. Never know when you will need a spare rare pokemon!
That music is from the Pokemon trading card game.
Hab die Blaue Edition gewissen XD war geil! Good pronunciation!
You should take one of the started games and mane videos playing... finish Cindy's story!
Closest I got to a save file being worth exploring was on a copy of Pearl. Dude's name was 'Bitch' and he had next to no playtime (:
Wow, I’m surprised. Great video
I had Pokémon crystal when I was young I loved it
Same got it again
@@mikehance6086 I jus emulate them now the old ones way too expensive
Sceptile was timid too. Good nature for it too.
I ended up collecting all the games In was missing for pokemon over the last year and a half and found a a few interesting saves:
Omega ruby with a few lvl 100 shinies (probably hacked)
Black 2 with over 100 hours in game and a lot of pokemon caught
Ruby with a random shiny Shroomish.
I remember going to block buster and seeing pokemon diamond and just wanting the game so badly and now that I think about it I’m sure it wouldn’t even be able to save
that was more entertaining then i thought it would be lol
I like your video, cute and wholesome.
I feel like whoever played the pokemon fire red was playing while looking at a walkthrough.
My 3ds and my copy of Pokemon diamond have the exact same issue in that it won't register that the game is in there most of the time. I think it's just age
I've had to sadly sell most of my pokemon collection over the years just to survive. I hope whomever got my games after me enjoyed their pick of prime pokemon to snag before restarting the adventure.❤
I liked this.
Was a fun idea thanks for the content
the ost from pokemon trading card game is fire
My childhood all in one video just damn
Wow, the display quality seems awesome.
