Thank you so much for the easy to follow tutorial. I love this stitch. I am on my second hat now. My first one I left a 4" opening at the top, trimmed with a SC , perfect for my daughter's ponytail or bun.
Completed a hat and scarf set. Thank you, thank you for making it so easy to follow. 2 more sets, and 5 more hats besides the sets. Forging onward. I like this stitch!
Thanks very much for sharing. All guidances are in details, easy to understand step by step to follow. You must be a professional teacher, I guess. Thanks again with my best wishes. I have a new hat for these coming holidays. San Jose/CA is now raining and very cold. ❤❤❤
I did my best until I finally done my beanie like yours I follow how the procedure your unique instructions and I successfully done what’s project on my brain.Thank you as much as your teaching do.God bless you in the name of arts.
Beautiful hat! I am still crocheting your house slippers...everyone wants a pair :) I can't wait to start on this hat. Thank you so much your teaching is so clear and concise.
When doing the brim, I had to remember that the brim is going to stretch. So I had to make it an inch or two shorter from the actual head circumference. Worked for me. I’m new to crochet 💁🏻♀️
Finally, clear image quality, a precise explanation, in short, a quality tutorial. Many thanks, even if I don't speak very good English I understand your instructions perfectly. You won a subscriber, dear lady. Thank you for your endless patience. From Canada.
Thank you so much. Your teaching and illustrations and explanations are extremely clear and concise making it so easy to follow you and also achieve successful results. Thank you again.
thanks for sharing. A very nice example and the explanation is excellent. Just one question: The number of eyes should be in multiples of 2 to have an equal spacing: bean, eye space, bean?
Should you measurement of the 3-inch cuff be the same as your head measurement or should it be smaller so that it stretches to fit? I crocheted enough to fit my head and it was 2 inches longer than your longest suggested measurement.
Hi! I've gotten to my second decrease round, but I'm very confused. When we make our bean stitches, we always put them in those little "v"s that you indicated. However, with the crochet 2 bean stitches together, it's throwing me off on how to make them line up. Is it possible for you to maybe demonstrate another round or 2 after the first decrease row please? Thanks!
When you decrease, you still put the hook in the “v” of the stitch. It just looks a bit different. Each decrease row is the same. I hope you can get it. 🙂
This is such a nice hat, excited to make four for my boys! Is there a printable pattern? And what would you suggest for making it for a one year old size wise? Thank you for this great hat and video!
I have a question I don’t understand after folding in half and doing single crochets do you go into both valleys and bumps hope you understand what I am asking. You really don’t explain or I’m just not seeing what you are doing. I hope I get a response Thank you
Yes, put one Sc at the end of each row. When you join them they become opposite (valleys and bumps). If you need to put a few extra stitches in, you can as well, for a bigger head or lots of hair.
@@StephanieZed I’ll watch again more closely and again if needed. Thanks for the video. Your pattern is the only bottom-up pattern with crown decreases I have found, so thanks for the pattern.
Hi Stephanie, when I fold the brim in half (to go from 8 cm to 4 cm), it starts to curve, like a letter C. I've started over and over again but I get the same result each time. It drives me crazy :-) Can you tell me what I do wrong??
@@StephanieZed Thanks for the tip! Now my beanie just grows larger and larger each row. So I have to decrease a little in the single crochet row so hopefully the brims straightens, right? I'll give it a try!
@@StephanieZed I see that you begin your decrease at 6 inches, what is the overall height after you complete your decrease. I am looking for a more form fitting hat rather than a slouchy hat.
Because you do a chain 1, turn for every row, it places the stitch at an angle, then looks like a “Bean”. You can call it whatever you like😃It’s a beautiful stitch🥰
This is a yarn under. It makes the stitch tighter and is a different way of doing the single crochet and/or other stitches. This is not an awful habit. This is different. 😊

It should be smaller. You want it to stretch so it has a snug fit.

You can use any yarn. The hat is adjustable at the beginning depending on how long you make the brim to fit around your head.
So each decrease row is the exact same 3 bean stitch 2 together?
👍🏼 yes😃
Thank you love your tutorials
How much yarn is used?
Hey Stephanie! I’m making this now. Do I have to fold the brim? I’m scared I’ll mess it up.
Yes, the brim is folded. You do not have to make it that way if you don't want to.
@@StephanieZed I’m gonna try it, but I’m scared lol.
You got this. I love the folded brim. It is so cozy!
@@StephanieZed you are the best. Thank you!
I'm not sure if someone already asked. About how much yarn (4 worst weight) is needed to make this? Thanks
You will only need 100-200 grams of yarn depending on the weight. 😃
I have a question I don’t understand after folding in half and doing single crochets do you go into both valleys and bumps hope you understand what I am asking. You really don’t explain or I’m just not seeing what you are doing. I hope I get a response Thank you

Do you have a written pattern? I need some help to remember the crown decreases and the number of rows for them.
Hi. I only write the pattern as you go along in the video. Sorry.
@@StephanieZed I’ll watch again more closely and again if needed. Thanks for the video. Your pattern is the only bottom-up pattern with crown decreases I have found, so thanks for the pattern.
Do you crochet 1 and turn after 1st decrease row?
Yes. And then continue with your decrease.
@@StephanieZed Thanks!!
Does anyone know her size hook and yarn? I don't seem to see it in her description
I have it all at 00.13 in the video. 😊
Hi Stephanie, when I fold the brim in half (to go from 8 cm to 4 cm), it starts to curve, like a letter C. I've started over and over again but I get the same result each time. It drives me crazy :-) Can you tell me what I do wrong??
Make sure your stitches are nice and tight. Or every 4th stitch, you could put 2 single crochet together. Let me know if that helps.
@@StephanieZed Thanks for the tip! Now my beanie just grows larger and larger each row. So I have to decrease a little in the single crochet row so hopefully the brims straightens, right? I'll give it a try!
What are the overall finished measurements, particularly the height?
I show a measurement at 11:56. Then I decrease. If you want a more slouchy hat, continue with 5-6 more rows, then decrease.
@@StephanieZed I see that you begin your decrease at 6 inches, what is the overall height after you complete your decrease. I am looking for a more form fitting hat rather than a slouchy hat.
8” total. 😃
@@StephanieZed Thank you so much! Your tutorials are excellent, not too slow and not too fast, clear and precise. Keep them coming!

👍🏼
I just make the brim 1.5 inches only & don't double/fold.

is this for an adult woman's head?

Because you do a chain 1, turn for every row, it places the stitch at an angle, then looks like a “Bean”. You can call it whatever you like😃It’s a beautiful stitch🥰
@@StephanieZed is it possible to have the stitches aligned evenly instead of at a slant - one on top of the other?
Disturbed at how you alter the direction of pulling up a loop. This is an awful habit to teach. Despite this, the beanie is lovely!
