So, having found the spot for the adult hat, I’m so chuffed with this pattern. Thank you, it worked up quickly and it looks marvellous
This is a great tutorial, thank you for a very clear version for the diamonds. If I hadn’t seen this tutorial I would have given up and done something else
Amazing hat, and the way you worked the brim is genius. I’ve tried so many times to work from bottom up with this type of brim & ive never been able to make it look right. I will be using this tip a lot. ♥️👍
Love this pattern ! So quick and easy . I came across it last night and have already made 4 of them for a quick little extra last minute gifts .
Thanks for a wonderful design and explanation 🤗🌼.... I made one for my mother in law as a birthday present and she loved it 💕💕. I used 2 colors beige and pink and it turned out really well.
This is a somewhat difficult hat, but I was able to make it by using both the written pattern & tutorial. I changed the brim by ending on a DC row, fpdc all around, then alternating fpdc & bpdc for about 4 rows. I like the looks of it better than the one in the pattern. I made my own pom.
I’ve had trouble with this 3 times already... but will not give up
Super easy pattern to follow and I enjoyed making the smaller version for a friends little girl. Never tried the brim like this but think it will become a favourite very quickly. Thank you.
!aa!!
Love your voice could listen to you all day. Thanks for the clear tutorial!!!
Absolutely lovely pattern!!! And amazing job on the tutorial!! Cant wait to work on this style first thing in the am!! They will be great gifts!! Thankyou Tamara!!
Wow, what a mathematically interesting and aesthetically beautiful design. Your teaching-round-by-round techique makes this project approachable to many crafters.
Tamara, if I accomplish this hat I would be amazing. If successful I shall post a pic!! I love the way it looks and you explain it all clear & concise! Wow!!
The adult size tutorial starts at about 31:00. Wish I’d known - would have saved myself a few hours of frustration LOL
OMG SAME HERE!!!! This is extremely upsetting Carolyn! I new something wasn't right when I got as far as row 12 and it still wasn't looking like it would fit. The only sharing I will be doing will be of the disappointment. Do better!
-_- I guess reading comments would be helpful... I feel like I'm wearing a tight yamaka >_> Yay! Gotta start all over... No way would the first hat pattern fit a 20-22 inch head... I dunno... Maybe a 6 mm hook with the first set cause I used a 5.5 mm hook and its a tight fit on my head.
Amaya Maki I undid mine and started over with a 5.5mm hook.. not much of a difference really. Attempt #3 using a 6.5mm is working out so much better! Of course I am blessed with lushfully thick hair and prefer a loose beanie for a more comfortable wear. I'd have to plan it out first, but I think if the stitch count was increased (adding 4 dc in row 1 maybe so that you have a total of 20 dc to start with) from the get go, you could use a 5.5mm so that it would produce a wider beanie but with small sized stitch. I may try that on the next one that I make in a different color.
@@LL-gn7zc so did you use the first teen/adult size or work with the larger adult size?
@@amayamaki I went with the larger adult size.
That is close to perfection💝
OH thank goodness for a video, I was so confused by the written pattern. I gave up after 5 attempts. Will try again.
YES written pattern was horrible. LOL
Спасибо за мк красоты. Новых идей и вдохновения вам.
Tamara, i just found this tutorial this eve. It looks so complicated but you really simplify it. Almost done with my 1st of many. Love it!!! Thanks for another awesome tutorial & pattern!!❤
In the written pattern, adding that you go through both legs/post in round 9 would also be helpful.
Awesome pattern and instructions. Thank you so much!!
I love your voice! I love your tutorials too. Thank you for teaching me how to crochet!
Omg what a beautiful hat, I just got done making this! Thank you so much
Spongebob 🏡 !!I love it!!
Very nice and you’re wonderful❤️🌹🥰😘😘
Beautiful hat
Thank you Tamara... I will make my project...
Thanks for the great pattern and tutorial.
Your an amazing teacher 👩🏫
Omg this is such an amazing tutorial!
Completely agree!
Amazing work, I made the hat and i love it. 🥰😍 thank you so much. You made it so easy to understand. Need to try it in glitter for my girls
Beautiful Diamond crochet hat. I will have to give this a try. Thank you so much for this lovely pattern.
Row 6 starts from 17:28
Round 7 starts at 18:12
Round 9 starts 19:00
Very pretty pattern Tamara! Thanks for sharing!
Looks easy enough hope when I try it things will work out right for me .thanks.
Mmmm 🤔 If I make the hat in yellow and the pom pom in green... It will be a pineapple hat 🍍 🤭
Love that idea lol
Great idea!!
good idea!!
I want to be like you . I really admire you🤩🤩🤩😍😍
Lovely pattern
The beginning of this pattern and I aren't friends!😐 I've frogged it 3 times already!
Beautiful
Hermoso trabajo
love thia hat
I've Made like four of these! So cute!!!
Hi there I will be making this in the adult size but I wanted to use the pattern until about halfway down then make it in just dc as I want to try some tapestry kind eegards
I am a new subscriber, and I really enjoy your videos!
Thank you so much, Latricia!
It’s best if there’s 2 different videos for the different sizes!!
It would be super helpful if you add to the description that the tutorial for the bigger version of the hat is later in the video.
Definitely! I made a super small hat!
I have redone this hat several times because I don't have the same stitches at the end of rnd 9...Is anyone else having the same problem of not having 2 stitches left? I have never lost stitches in patterns near as bad as I have this one.
I keep losing stitches too, I just count and add a sc somewhere and then make sure next round has 60 dc... But still I'm a stitch short if I follow directions
Lovely pattern! Can I make this hat for my toddler? Thr size you uploaded is still big for him
The smaller size made with a 2 or 3 weight yarn should work! :)
It would have been great if you had started the second set from row 7
Awesome💚💜💛🧡❤💙
Oh, I love this stitch! Got it, now time to go make it. Thank you so much for this great tutorial!👍 is this a 3 or 4 weight yarn? I was thinking of using Red Heart with love sparkle.
This is a 4 weight! :)
Thank you!
Muy bonita su gorrita me gusto mucho diosito le de mucha salud y mucha felicidad y muchas bendiciones🌹❤🌹❤️👍❤️
The adult large version has a discrepancy between the tutorial on round 5 and the written pattern. The tutorial says that you end by skipping the last stitch and joining. The written pattern says you finish the round with 2 stitches remaining and SC in those before joining. The written is correct! I frogged 3x before I figured this out. Ugh.
Could you please explain for those not comfortable with the csdc. If you begin with chain 2 does that count as first DC? For example round 3. Or do we chain 2 then proceed with pattern?
You can ch 2 and not count it as a stitch, or ch 3 and do count it - it's up to you. :)
I used ch 2 & counted it as a DC. Works great.
3rd 6:04
4th 9:36
5th 10:55
This is pretty close to the paid for pattern from ruby Webb’s that I bought a couple years ago
Hi im stuck. After row 9 i dont get 2 stitches left over do you know why that is
Da'Jah Aultman I tried 4 times and couldn’t either. And I know I am doing it right up to that point.
This is where I keep getting stuck as well!
I was having a complete attack over the way the lg. size hat was rippling , then all of a sudden the whole idea snapped into focus . I've got a few changes i plan on making , but i love the basic idea . I want to try doing the hat in hd camel stitch and anchoring the 'pattern' in dc stitch into the loop of the previous row when the pattern is first established , then switch to a fp,dc to build it . Am i making sense ? I'm thinking the final effect should be a really cool basket weave .
I was planning to make this but reading some comments change my mind, this might be complicated to make.
I also had to rip out several hours worth of work and time and start completely over due to the strange set up of this video! The hat she starts with is "small adult" and then she does the normal loose adult size afterwards!!! skip to about 30 minutes in to the video! other than that, i love the pattern!
I am making this hat in adult large. I am using Car on Simply Soft and size H hook. (The I doesnt work well with this yarn, I tried)I also tend to have a tighter crochet style. All of this means that my gauge is smaller than the pattern. What would be the best way to increase the size of the beanie?
Maybe holding the yarn doubled? You want to come as close to gauge as possible.
@@tamarairene cant I increase the stitch count in one of the first few rows?
@@charlenebenoy6558 Yes, but that also means redesigning the next few rows.
I need to make these for a 17" and 19" head. Smaller hook maybe? Thanks.
That should work! :)
Thank you
Somehow I am having problem, in round 5, I don’t have 15 fptr. I don’t know what’s I’m missing.
I’m doing something wrong. Round 3 I end up with 36 sts. But the next round I’m following the 2dc, 1dc, 1dc. But I come up short
It's always hard to guess when I'm not there, but are you maybe not putting 2 dc in the very first st?
Hey Tamara
Can you tell me the size of this hat?
I mean it's for kids or adult?
Teen/Adult Small (20-22″ head) and Adult Large (22-24″ head) :)
i have tried and tried and cannot figure this out i get to round 3 and have no idea which stitch i am doing what in ... frogged it
Nice pattern, sitting through the whole pattern waiting for the adult version was a little painful…maybe think of telling us where to skip to?
I have clicked on many links on your website and none of them took me to this hat! Could you please make it easier to get to this hat pattern?
Sorry for the trouble, here it is: mooglyblog.com/diamond-crochet-hat/ :)
Just a question, my brim is super wierd looking, its the same length all around but its not very tight ... I used the same crochet hook for the whole hat, was that a mistake?
Sometimes it's good to drop a hook size for the brim, although I didn't for this hat. But everyone's gauge is different, so it might work well for you!
I'm confused. Round 3 has 48 stiches. Then you put 2 dbl crochet in each stitch. That equals 96. How did you get 64?
In Rnd 4 the repeat is 2 dc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts. So only 1 out of every 3 sts gets an increase. :)
@@mooglyblog Thank you!
How to make it for a newborn
Had to give up as I didn’t understand the row 6-9 repeat. Never mind
🌹🌹🌹
I feel like I’m doing something wrong. Tried both the written and watching the video. I’ve had an easier time watching other creators who don’t speak my language, which is odd to me.
I tried this over 4 times even slowed down the video play back but ... I’m not getting it right. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
ya me either.....
Adaline Limardo Because row 9 does not work as shown.
Carole, did you ever figure this out? It’s driving me nuts!
J'aimerais qu'e le patron soit traduit en français
My lines weren't even so I'm starting again,

row 6..41.00
If I wanted to make this for a child, how could I do that? I think the teen would be too big :-/
Dropping down a hook size or two would be the best option. The teen size fits ages 10 and up. :)
Thank you for the reply!
