The whole lab storyline this episode with Homelander was like a genuine horror movie. Give Antony his Emmy already. Best episode of the season so far
Everything with the lab was insane. Tension was unreal.
Even tho the writing is definetly not up to par anymore, Anthony Starr single handedly carries this show with his insane performances.
@@blondymonk1535 why does everybody think so? Did we not know already this ss will dive into every character's past to build up the final season? People acting surprise confused me, the pace and writing only fit the message it's trying to deliver.
There is a funny fact about homelander, He never kills people who are not afraid of him
Sadly, Barbara got locked in a room with full of dead workers.
Well, that's a funny fact, isn't it?
@@mrliberox it's hilarious because she deserved it
@@mrliberox sadly? she is a horrible person.
@@mrliberox Some Vought worker or higher up coming to check in on the facility that isn't answering phone calls all of a sudden will find her and let her out before she actually starves to death in there. I don't think Homelander intended for her to die.
@@TylerChamb He definitely did intend for her to die, he lasered the door shut, he got rid of the cameras at the start of the episode, has the authority to stop others from going there, he can't afford anyone to go there anyway given that he caused a big blootbath.
If i was tortured in a lab for years i would crashout too 😂
Real
For like 18 years and they also stomped it into his head hes better then everyone else and hes the strongest and best in the world🤦🏾♂️😭 they were the reason hes a narcissist psychopath 🤦🏾♂️😭
Homelander's upbringing doesnt justify his evil but it does make you understand why he's like that
BS kimiko turned out a wonderful person. Trauma is no excuse to be the monster homelander is
@@ImRichYourPoor its almost as if people react to trauma in different ways. And its also cause kimiko was not raised to believe she was above everyone else, he was, he was taught not to care
@@theguardianslair529 dont bother arguing with him lol the guy clearly doesn't have a brain in his head
@@ImRichYourPoor kimiko had experienced love and a stable home before what happened. Plus she had her brother. Homelander was alone and all he knew was pain and torture until he was into his early 20s. That's a huge difference.
IDK man... My man was cooked in an oven for hours. lol No human would live through that to suffer that long. But for him... he probably felt like it was an eternity. That would probably break anybody down into being a killer and hateful.
A-Train's come a long way. He stared down Ashley, who was floundering, holding a vial of V (which he was once addicted to) and didn't even FLINCH as he spoke. He believed that Hughie would never truly forgive him, but still handed him the vial without another word.
the story homelander tells about lasering out of his womb was taken from the comics version of becca's final moments as homelander's baby prematurely erupted from her. butcher was present and he managed to beat the newborn to death.
Wasn’t the final reveal that it was Black Noir moonlighting as Homelander the entire time?
@@robertcasillas6084 not exactly, but i hesitate to elaborate on potential spoilers. at this point the tv series has diverged so much from the comic's plot that it's probably irrelevant, but only the scriptwriters know which plot points they're going to preserve.
that smile at the end made me think he finally was free from not only his past but the need to want any worthless human to except him. god damn homelander unleashed is gonna be nuts :p
accept him**
The Deep is hilarious from Season 1 , I don’t why he’s overlooked
I think it’s cause our first exposure to him is a sexual assault
@@TheBrandonMinich Good point
Antony Starr man... what an actor 👏
I always find funny how homelander hates all those scientists because none of them had the guts to say *This is wrong* . Then again, he cant stand people who tells him the same when he s acting wrong or being a bully or basically every hour of the day on the day lol
But the reason he's like that is because of these scientists, never actually stepping in, so he turned out the way he did
well, yeah, getting brainwashed, experimented, and basically tortured at a young age for 12 or more years tends to fuck up a person's psyche
not justifying his actions but i am saying that without all that, he would be a very different person
he has a right to hate those scientists just like how a lot of citizens have a right to hate Homelander
It explains why hes exactly like that
I am curious to see what he will do now that he thinks he overcame his problems. Homelander will probably go absolutely crazy for 2 episodes, then get slapped by reality (in the form of ryan and butcher) and then lose it entirely and destroy everything
Best psychologist’s in the world and they thought bro wasn’t gonna be crazy when he got older😭they thought they had his mind figured out but u can’t control crazy
This episode really shows why homelander is the way he is. It doesnt excuse all the horrible stuff hes done. But those people in that lab created this monster
26:52 Insurance
Edit: Annnnd you get it immediately afterwards.😂
This was an incredible episode loved every second of it
After this episode i would say Antony Starr is literally best actor ever ! His facial expressions are scary good !
6:55 yeah this is a gripe i have about Annie. Of all the members of the team, she seems to have the most to say when it comes to judging someone, or calling them out for morals, even trying to provoke/antagonise A-Train AFTER he went out of his way to help her supporters get out of jail. She can't seem to see that there are bigger things at stake than her moral comfort zone, and unless all of them truly pull together, they're as good as dead. So they need all the help they can get.
That’s is true for the most part but to be fair to her butcher literally almost got hughie killed at his stupid shot at Victoria in the first episode of this season like if they resorted to using acid on her then obviously bullets won’t work but butcher is suicidal at this point the dude has also tried to kill her multiple times before if this were another one of the boys I would say she’s tripping but with butcher…..that dude has gone od a lot
@@coldfury2652 100% valid. It doesn't justify any of the horrible things any of them have done, regardless of the circumstances or background they had-- A-Train killing Robin, Popclaw, causing Supersonic's death, Butcher's got a full LIST there, Frenchie's killings, etc. Same goes for what Annie did to Firecracker all those years ago, Why they did it or whether or not they regretted or wanted to do it doesn't make any of it any more excusable. But all of that has to be put behind them, however much and however recent it is, because there is a MUCH bigger threat coming.
@@AidantheLegend that is very true
A-train still deserved what Annie said. He needed to know that alone doesn't make up for anything. Once he admitted he's a POS she didn't say anything after that.
We humans can justify our own wrongs while demonizing others. Hypocrisy is a real thing..
V was revealed to the world in season 2, when Anny released it to the news media. She got it from Gecko.
GOSH i love this reactor had me tearing up lol freaking love your reactions- you motivate me to start a reaction channel
i feel homelander is going through what the military would call, shellshock or the 1000 yard stare.
the biggest reason why i didn't wanna join any official branch for the US😭
i would say the reason why america is a lot more violent than other countries is because after world war 2 america went straight into vietnam while other countries caught a break.
we have generations of men going to war and never making it back to there wifes or coming back shellshocked
i feel like a lot men in the military might end up like homelander if you gave them super powers with all the shit they go through😢
my dad was in the air force and he told me enough😭
homelander doesn't know what he wants or is anymore.
he's going through what we call spiritual bankruptcy😢
may god rest his soul🙏
The firecracker pedo thing actually happened in a church and was recorded and everything, i wonder if they took inspo from it.
Those people in the lab knew they were going to die, you can even see in their faces. I’m just disappointed they only showed two deaths instead of the rest of the staff.
It’s better that way tbh
if they did show that it would be fs be brutal as hell lol
I mean after two deaths we kinda get the idea
bro that last scene is so WILD that room was spotless and now its literal red
Your right what he does to other people in the world isn't justified but what he did right here to those monster..., lets just say I was on Homelander side here
So i wonder if Ashley was there to take some V for Hughies mom.
The word you are looking for is restraint and happiness is non of his concern he is not human anymore .
Homelander is the perfect example of when the guy at the top realizes the rules don't apply to him after all.
Technically, the new thing with Frenchie kinda started in season 3. Nina mentioned that he has killed a lot of people, including children
Maybe the word you were looking for is "truth" as is she needed to be honest, because that was what Homelander came down there for in a way. He wanted Frank to be honest about a moment, but Franks mistake was not even remembering a paper basket ball shot he took while a kid was burning. If I was Frank I would have said something "honest" like "if I had powers as great and grand as your I would have stepped up to Vought, but I was born weak. I did this job to support my family, I thought what we did was wrong and I had nightmares too." but Frank wasn't like that, it really was just a job, and so he didn't have much to say.
She was left alive and she was the most honest one there... the new people were just more Franks... She'll get out of that room, might take 4-8 hours, no way Vought doesn't know shit was going down there.
If the world could learn how to stop making monsters of men, we wouldn't have to fight them. Should have been a classic superman upbringing.
It s not that doing that is going to make homelander feel better. He s a psycho and a bully. Take this in consideration: if martys situation down there would have been "different", homelander woudlnt have bothered humiliating him. He would have kill him straight away.
i thought ryan was the first naturally born super, but apparently homelander had his powers from before he was born? cause he lasered his way out of the womb?
He wasn't natural though
Technically he both is and isn't a natural born. He is because Soldier boy is his dad and isn't because Vought still used compound V to make him as powerful as he is. Ryan on the other hand was born the way he is from the jump. No V needed.
Homelander is basically a TestTube baby from Soldier Boy. They needed a surrogate mother to make him. He aint natural by all means
@@marcuso.530 No. Homelander wasn't given extra V, he was the product of Soldier Boy's donated sperm. He inherited his father's powers and developed his own during the gestation period. He is a naturally born meta-human, Homelander just didn't know that he was natural because he didn't know if he had a mother. The only difference between Homelander and Ryan is that Homelander wasn't created by sex, the sperm was put into a surrogate mother by a scientist. Ryan will become stronger than him because in fiction, the son or daughter sometimes becomes more powerful.
I love Butcher trying to hide his smile when M.M. defended him being here to Annie
Geez Kimiko heals faster than Deadpool and Wolverine... Could she live forever with that kinda healing factor?
Butcher's tumor might have given him powers with the V... Like a Venom that takes over as kind of a split personality to do dirty work...
If you haven’t already seen The Boys: Diabolical I highly recommend it cause the last episode shows his origin and we get to see kinda how he was raised through the flashbacks, and you get to somewhat understand why the way he is.
Insurance and risk mitigation to deal with toddler Homelander. Great reaction!
This season has been very weak so far, but this episode was great.
Why was it weak
Weak is a stretch
I haven't been the biggest fan of the side stories, but other than that I've enjoyed it. I'm glad they haven't dragged out what Frenchie did for so long and I'm curious what role Huhgie's mom plays here.
I wouldn't be surprised if we get a reveal that she's been working for Vought all of this time which could add some more context. I agree that this episode was great. The stakes are getting higher.
Hughie deciding to not give the V to his dad might be a spiderman PS4 reference. Also homelander in season 4 episodes 1 was wearing a blue jacket and red shirt when he went to see sage that might be a smAllville reference
It was lightly poking fun at the MCU incognito fit for main characters
That lab make Homelander like that, so they deserved that.
I love when you speak your thoughts and forget English Vocab 😄 Contingency you mean having Power Hold over him.
Damn that Nanami shirt is SO AWESOME
What did homelander say happened to the 50 grand? I can usually understand everything he says but that one stumped me. something about the stinky brown spider lol
Well she does work for Vaught. She probably asked a favor of some higher up that she has connections with.
26:52 Did you mean to say "fail-safe"? That's the word that came to mind with what you were describing.
Firecracker got a weird case why is she around?
Te amo!! Ven a Australia y te mantendré!
26:50 word- safeguard
20:57 I thought the same exact thing. Glad I was wrong.
For real
for a while its just felt to me they didnt really know what to do with annies character. And now shes had her "Thanos punch" moment, this truly feels like a lowpoint for starlight. Normally this would be fine if theres a redemption arc that pays off but I dont see the writers doing much else with her character other than getting back in the starlight suit, which she doesnt even want to do understandably.
Best episode of the season so far
why is this women so fine
OK hear me out. When Butcher is about to die we can see the parasite moving inside his head until it disappears most likely going into his brain taking over. I dont think Butcher has powers but its literally the parasite which does. Butcher is also consistently seeing hallucinations of Becca lately and every time Butcher gets hurt or is about to die she freaks out which could also imply that the parasite IS Becca and is using her image to control Butchers actions for its own purposes or maybe it even cares about him.
26:50 Leverage?
best ep of the show so far
24:19 omg i am SO glad I'm not the only one who thought that was kinda annoying like yeah he's TRYING DAMMIT
peanut m&ms? A1
the V, she stole his son.
After we protested on the latest video for the long waits for bleach videos she is making us wait even more, i tell you this girl has no respect for the subscribers
What? Bro the last bleach vid was 10 days ago and the one beforehand was two weeks ago. Maybe chill and stop being so entitled
We can actually see which scène have been turn first, just by watching Stella face who hasn't been butchered yet
Hughie could've given it back to A-Train, so he could give it to his brother and fix his broken spine.
why the fuck would he do that? Why would A-train do that? first off his brother wouldnt want that bc of how much it fucked up his brother and his life already. And A-train wants nothing to do it bc of all the bad shit it caused
@@SUPERMAN90744 Calm down. I'm just throwing the idea out there. Who knows? Maybe Nate would like to walk again and A-Train be back in his good graces like he is with Hughie. As Kimiko said last season, Compound V isn't good and evil, it depends on the person who takes it.
failsafe
Wow you got beautiful eyes
Starlight doesn't like looking in a mirror we knew that from the botched plastic surgery 😂😂😂😂
Man they really messed her up!! She was so cute!
Crazy episode🔥🔥
I'm here to watch Homelander cleanse the world. Homelander 2024! 🇺🇸
Just give Anthony the emmy already
Hughie's mom works for Vought
My problem with this season so far is the plot seams very disjointed. I really dont care about whats going on with Hughie's dad, or Frenchie's BF, or Kimiko's Shining light thing. They are just distractions from the main plot. Annie's deal is at least relevant.
Same. At least the 3 weaker subplots had some substance this episode tho
This is facts. There’s too many subplots going
The Boys has always been a character driven show, not a plot driven show. The characters having different plots is quite normal for this
@WaltDevil060 yea I'm a little co fused at this guy's comment.since season 1 they have had a subplot for each character
@@Brandonweifu season 1 subplots were all relevant though. These subplots feel like tangents. A good example would be starlights subplot. That seems relevant and not tangential.
why do you talk through the entire episode.
Because this is a reaction, if you want to watch the episode with no commentary you can
@@trampotrav4350 no you can’t talk and listen at the same time. If you’re not listening then it’s not a proper reaction you’re missin key details to react to.
You are gorgeous
Thank you
Every time Homelander is on screen, ALWAYS expect things to go horribly wrong. 🫢🫣
