All For One is basically a composite character of all the archetypes that created characters like Darth Sidious, Darth Vader, Lex Luthor and The Joker. This includes their ability to break people psychologically and strike when their vulnerable. Hell, that's why All Might ended up crippled in their first fight and if not for Gran Torino it would have happened in their second fight as well. This makes sense since Horikoshi's love of Superhero comics and Star Wars was clearly the source of inspiration for the character.
This episode is everything I hoped for after reading the manga. And I knew the anime would get the chance to show us so much more than what the manga could in its panels. This episode REALLY got to show us that. To see the side fights and everything that had been quiet between the gigantic main battles and get to see EVERYONE in Class A and B go all out. This made my day!
Todoroki caused a shockwave of joy across the literal entire country by beating Touya. To see EVERYONE from EVERY field on the hero’s side celebrating that, All-Might breaking down crying and Tsukauchi giving him the mic to spread the news literally brings it ALL together for the heroes. That felt FANTASTIC to watch.
Iida got his role on the Dabi field in spite of his weakness to fire! He was there to quickly dispatch all the side villains and the Nomu assigned to Dabi! And Iida was actually doing REALLY well against the high ends in season 6! So if he got close to the middle of his Recipro-Turbo during that fight, he DOES have the speed to manage such a large scale villain! And even with all the pros there, and the flamin sidekickers securing Dabi, I knew IMMEDIATELY Iida had put in all the leg work to help secure the area! He was literally running circles around other pros in the 1st war and EVEN survived hits from AFS himself, THIS is what I needed to see Iida do.
Mount Lady, Kodai, Yanagi, Honenuki, Mineta, Mina, and Kirishima are fighting the villains that killed Midnight, and the slime villain that was in season 1! Along with many new cool designed villains. One looks like a whisper of fate, one is…a different universe Harley Quinn, there’s a lot of good stuff there. All with the goal of determining if Gigantomachia gets back on the field or not! Mount Lady I swear with how she talks to the UA kids she’s going to look for ways to either become a UA teacher or try and hire everyone she can. This is the same lady who couldn’t stop doing EVERYTHING to be on camera now just endlessly gushing about the kids she’s seen get stronger since season 5. Mina has a bunch of new moves that help as her defense but also disarm equipment of what the villains carry. Mineta has a PILE of villains going. Honenuki just one shots an entire squad. And Yanagi and Kodai doing their combo again to cover practically everything else! Along with Kirishima just being the main motivator and being what is probably one of the toughest ones for the villains to stop along with Honenuki. ALL OF THIS is brand new we barely got to see from the manga. This was literally 2 panels or LESS in the manga because this was an interim chapter catching us up at EVERY fight at once. They just went NUTS with it and I’m smiling ear to ear!
I had NO recollection of seeing Sato, Ojiro, and Sero just going nuts in the streets somewhere. I even caught Tsuburaba using his air cage move in the back!
Bakugo is holding the line against AFS spreading his body.
We get a more full scene of Kunieda that’s much more in depth as well explaining what she would have done in the rogue arc had the kids not given Deku an intervention. And her announcing well, I couldn’t face Deku, but I WILL take Aoyama to make an example of those who turn on AFO. ANOTHER 2 panel circumstance given a full scope of the scene.
Spinner went from a TMNT turtle to Super Shredder in an INSTANT with AFO’s new gifted quirk to go with his gecko. He’s rallied all the heteromorph people getting ostracized by the world. Facing off against Koda, Shoji, Present Mic, the gorilla detective who comforted Gentle Criminal, and Rock Lock to save Kurogiri. We’re going off the wall here too!
But Dabi…might not be done just yet with a light blue glow starting at his heart.
And now it’s up to Endeavor and Hawks to confront none other than AFO as they did to Hood the High End Nomu. AFO literally treated Endeavor like a loud kid in a library in season 3 so this is a BIG ask for him. And there’s no one better at messing with people than AFO. (Komori looks like she’s with one of the unnamed heroes from the High End fight in season 4. The guy who can launch his fists like a cannon) AFO is an absolute expert at literally subjecting those he faces to torture and doesn’t hesitate to tell him your lust for power LITERALLY attracted me to your family looking for resources to use. And you couldn’t find Touya that fateful day, because I GOT THERE FIRST. Endeavor was in AGONY after what happened to Touya he was frantic to find him on Sekoto Peak. And with the backstory episode of Touya when the family was in the hospital, it showed that Touya was in the center of every decision Endeavor made that had LOGIC, but lacked the empathy to execute and drove his family to ruin because Endeavor is just TERRIBLE with emotions and failed every major conversation he needed to have with his kids and it turned him into the monster we’ve known him to be. And that’s all AFO needed to go for a lethal attack. Barely missing his lungs but taking Endeavor off the board for even an INSTANT can get EVERYONE on this field killed. And worse, there’s NOTHING worse than EITHER AFO having free rein.
And one of the SCARIEST moments in the episode is Tokoyami and Jiro stepping up to AFO. To say THESE two are outmatched is the understatement of the CENTURY. And they have the SLIGHTEST moves to get past AFO’s moves. And Jiro VERY quickly feels the sheer terror that Deku felt when he was hiding from AFO to save Bakugo in season 3. That hanging feeling of death in the air. And she knew Deku and Aoyama had been just DEALING with that terror for the ENTIRE TIME this man has been loose. They’re doing their best and they’ll look for EVERY INCH they can find. And Hawks is having literal PANIC attacks watching his prized student decide I’m willing to go up against the LITERAL DEVIL. Of course I’m nothing but hyped for this fight but also I am SO SCARED to watch these two do this. It is BROAD DAYLIGHT for Tokoyami, and Deku BLACKWHIPS faster than her sound blasts while completely exhausted physically, mentally, and of course above all emotionally. And this is the guy he couldn’t hope to beat while HEALTHY back then. So the fact that Jiro got the Van Gogh treatment from THAT blast is nothing short of a MIRACLE we still have Jiro AND Tokoyami.
This episode got to show us EVERYTHING and more. And I’m SO excited to see these battles play out.
It looks like Touya's not down jut yet. He's inherited a lot of Endeavor's of Endeavor’s persistence. Speaking of which, All for One is REALLY good at getting under peoples' skin. In a way, what he's saying to Endeavor is kinda right too. While Shoto wanted to be the one to confront Touya, he was ultimately Endeavor’s responsibility more than anyone else's. It’s even something Endeavor realizes. But still, it’s just All for One being insincere despite the truths of what he’s saying. Just a plan to get into Endeavor’s head so he can beat him.
*"Extras” is a good name for this episode. We’re really seeing everyone doing their part to fight for their own cause. Todoroki, Toya, Ashido, Spinner, Shoji, Endeavor, Hawks, Jiro, Tokoyami, and others. There’s a lot of moving pieces and ideologies. Also the sludge villain is back. Oddly nice to see him again-*

It’s the classic case of heroes and villains not being so different. Everyone, every individual person, is doing their part and fighting for what they believe in. Freedom for heteromorphs, a father’s horrible sins, and whatever All for One is up to. Everyone is willing to put their own bodies on the line for a cause greater than themselves. Weirdly wholesome in a way.
All For One’s most powerful quirk is definitely “Shit Talk.” The man has the preternatural ability to troll just about anyone. Trolling heroes is half the fun for him. Might even be 75% the fun.
Also love the body horror quirks that All For One has. Instead of the typical powers we see in superhero stories, we get some grotesque designs. Hori is definitely in his bag when he gets creative with the horror designs. Should really do a horror series next.
Let him have a year break before he starts writing again. We don't need him ending up like Tite Kubo or Masashi Kishimoto where the story was harmed due to stress-induced sickness. Horikoshi's already struggling as is.

It’s Gigantomachia in English like gigantic. It’s just Japanese always pronounces it with a hard G. Similar to Ingenium with a hard G whereas English pronounces it like the g in engine.
Actually Gigantomachia's name is based on the greek word Gigantomachy which was the war between the Gigantes (the giant children of Gaea and Tartarus) and the Olympians and their allies.

Well they wanted Endeavor and Hawks to do it. That’s because Shigaraki is more powerful than All for One at the moment, and bas regen so.

I feel like if anybody should take out AFO its all might, it would feel better all might correcting his own mistakes than forcing his problems midoria out of necessity, either that or AFO killing all might. like he said. 'if anything happeneds to that boy it will be because I'm dead
