- Chuck employs highly inappropriate prop “comedy” in this episode. The jackpot starts at $1,000 as Victoria takes on the champion, and Pam faces Glenn on this rare 1993 episode of NBC’s Scrabble game show hosted by Chuck Woolery.

that noose is so wrong
Even is today’s standards it is
Agreed- the noose is in poor taste.
@@JohnMossSF A noose? That's silly!
Thank you for posting! I miss this show, even when it was the chintzy 1993 version!
I remember this game show and the host.
Got "Tattoo" off the clue
2:32 Second stopper!
The Lucy Ricardo "Ewwwww" she said afterwards is about the only thing you can say on TV.
2:18 Stopper!
John did good. 😀👍
12:37 Funny that Pam did the same exact thing and nothing happened. I have a feeling the "higher ups" kindly suggested to him to not do that again. 😉
I was wondering what you meant? I am curious?
@@pamelabaker3428 The contestant had a very obvious money win (for the jackpot in this version), and passed it up by buzzing in too early, effectively "hanging herself".
Nothing happened because Pam didn't "realize where she was" in the game, that she could have gone for it. Nothing to do with the "higher ups", as if that were the case, they would have just edited it out. Possibly the joke would have gotten tired, too.
I didn't know Glenn Taranto was on Scrabble. That's crazy.
I bet people have told Glenn that his celebrity lookalike is John Astin.
It sounds like some of those tiles are bouncing off the floor
I wonder if another reason why this version had the jackpot advance only buy bonus squares is because of NBC's budget when TPIR was pretty much beating out everybody.
When is Hasbro going to allow Buzzr to air "Scrabble?"
17:55 1:45
What episode had the word pockets as the answer, but someone guessed monkeys?
At 3:20, what the heck were they thinking?! That joke was in extremely poor taste, and how could they not see the racist implications of it?
I guess it's just as well that this version only lasted five months. It's a great game, but I mean come on. I'll bet Chuck heard from standards and practices after this.
@@bluebear1985 You better believe it. And yet, he hosted two other successful game shows in GREED and LINGO
What was the joke, and what was that noose comment about?
@@blindsportslover Chuck was just pissed that she didn't go for the bonus squares with just one stopper left...he would have done it to white people too.
@@gregersen80015 now that I watch that part again, I think I get it. And right now I think my mind's like, wow that's harsh.
The Noose and Comment was totally uncalled For .......ugh
The big killer was definitely the bonus round jackpot. $1000 is just not enough, even in 1993.
The cube not working properly, while not a deathblow, just sucked all around.
5:42-5:50... not funny
What was she thinking with that rope ! Not cool 👎 not cool
When you buzz in too early and miss out on obvious money, you effectively "hang yourself". Sadly, stereotypes are ingrained into people's minds today to spark outrage.
