This ended up happening twice more later in the series. Basically, if you get eight or all nine statements right, you pretty much won the car/safe/steamer trunk.
Lots of shows were taped at Studio 33 at CBS Television in HOLLYWOOD The NEW Price is Right (Daytime & syndicated versions), The Joker's Wild (CBS & 90's Version), The NEW Tic Tac Dough, Season 2 of BULLSEYE with the late Jim Lange, Daytime & Nighttime Versions of Wheel of Fortune (until 1995), The NEW Card Sharks with Bob Eubanks and the late Bill Rafferty, Family Feud with the late Ray Combs and the return of the late Richard Dawson, Hollywood Squares with Tom Bergeron and of course, The Carol Burnett Show
She shouldn't need to PICK a key to double the $25,000 prize here. She had the automatic win locked up when she got 8 right as 8 wrong choices are eliminated. Since she got one additional she didn't need to, that in and of itself should require them to pay her $50,000 instead of $25,000!
@@MewtwoStruckBack I think what is being suggested is similar to what happens on TPIR with Shell Game. If you win all four picks for the shells, it's an automatic win with a chance at a bonus. If you then guess which shell the ball is under, you win a cash bonus equal in value to whatever prize is on offer. So, I think the OP is thinking that a similar offer should have been made.
@@TeamPaul17 Fair - I just was hoping to see a much higher value assigned to that perfect run. If they're going to do it as a pick, then $25,000 automatic, **$250,000** if they get the bonus pick. ...speaking of TPiR, I still want to see the rules to Spelling Bee change that if you manage to get CAR twice (once off a card that just says car, plus C-A-R) they have to give you two cards, and getting both CAR cards plus a C, A, and R, they should have to give you three cars (that distribution of picks has happened!) but I get shouted down by the old heads over on Golden-Road every time I bring it up.
They should have had THIS BONUS GAME!! In Peter Marshall and John Davidson,s eras!! BUT instead of that $25,000 shopping spree at Bloomingdales-- the safe should have had $100,000 & the 🚗 CAR!!
here is my idea.... if they played for a trip, maybe two same trips is a little much, so if they got 8, it is automatic win for a prize, if all 9 correct, must be a little bonus with that. maybe they should give a cash $10,000 bonus with the trip. (season 6 will give $5,000 bonus with the trip if they got all nine cause prize ladder value lowered)
I HEARD TOM BERGERON SAY: WOW! EXACTLY 3 TIMES BEFORE HE GOT TO THOSE KEYS. THE CONTESTANT EASILY WON THE $25,000 SHOPPING SPREE AT BLOOMINGDALE’S. This is a well played BONUS ROUND HERE. Kenneth Huang. 8/15/24.

Not for nothing but this was my favorite bonus round that Hollywood squares ever did
Hell Yeah
This bonus game is my sweetly hypnotic all-time favorite bonus game; Mmmmm!!❤
Great bonus round design. Hate this version of Hollywood Squares didn’t last that long. I’d love to see it revived with this format.
What a great win & what a beautiful head of hair she has!
I’m talking running the table 🎶
1:49 _The Arsenio Hall Show_ was long-cancelled by that point, but it's still nice to hear the Dog Pound get revved up here.
I guess you could say that "she caught 'em all", like what the Pokemon slogan would say.
this aired 1 day after my 12th birthday! I think of this as a late birthday present for me.
All 9 Right! Amazing!
It's interesting to see the audience in this episode. This show tapes did tape in the same studio as Price Is Right, Pyramid, and Card Sharks.
Because of Price's taping schedule at the time, Squares taped on weekends and did two weeks' worth of episodes in those two days alone

Usually they tell them to look for a car they don't have the car this time.
I should warn those of you who suffer from epilepsy that there are some very bright, very fast blinking lights at 2:58 and again at 3:04
"Gee I wonder if it will work." LOL
Karen, you really studied the celebs!
I wonder if any of the clothes she brought back then she still owns?
Way to go Karen!!!
Gary Cole: This is a tough one to swallow!
They said that for every one she got correct, they would take away a wrong key. She got 9 right but they only took away 8.
Even if you get 8 right, you're still guaranteed the bonus prize because only the working key would be left
They ran out of wrong keys before she ran out of right answers.
Nice job Karen! Holy cow! ⚡⚡⚡💨💨💨💨💨💨💰💰💰
I mean, at least gave her a pick a key for doubling the winnings

@@MewtwoStruckBack I agree, If she got 8 out 9 right, then that is an automatic win, If she got 7 out of 9 then she would have a 50/50 choice.

The Fonz was the announcer?
Yep that was the voice of their executive producer henry winkler.
I remember another contestant named Jennifer swept the board next season.
and Robert during Staff Appreciation Week!
she's lucky she didn't break the safe
They should have had a bonus for getting all 9 right. Since 8 or 9 is same thing.
Not bad, Karen... not bad!

Or how about pick the right key to win a $10,000 bonus if you get all 9 right.
I've Got Bad News GSC is Terminated

I seen this episode before... she's done better than any contestants on HS new bonus round
