So, while I may not be a hardcore fan like some of the RWBY fandom, I do know some fun facts, like for example, the fight scenes in the early days, like these four trailers, were all made by Monty Oum, rest in peace, and they were always hype, also, the fandom really likes to use this quote to summarize the show: "it's also a gun"
One day, a talented young computer videogame animator named Monty Oum had the thought, "what if Little Red Riding Hood was a cute anime girl who slays werewolves....she doesn't need a huntsman to save her, she's her own huntress." ...and the rest is history. He went to his friends Miles and Kerry and said "we're going to make an anime." and they smiled and laughed and said "sure, Monty."; He then pitched his idea to the higher ups at Rooster Teeth. The pitch was the Red Trailer.
Not only that, RWBY is actually an anime that work better 3D. Back then, 3D anime were something people scare and dont want to work with becuase of how anime style character might dont work well with 3D design
- Yes, it's pronounced 'ruby'. - when you go into something blind, it's natural that you're gonna miss some details. RWBY did a good job of foreshadowing a lot of things, so every once in a while there's a reveal, and you think back and go "ooo, they were hinting at this there, there, and there." - most characters are inspired by/based on something (fairytales, legends, novels, history, etc). and yes, 'red' here is inspired by Red Riding Hood. - the vast majority of characters have weapons that can change from some form of gun into a close combat weapon. Or to quote from Vol 1 Ep 2, "It's also a gun." 😄 - While the White, Black, and Yellow trailers are canon backstory for the show, the Red trailer is not. It was more of a proof on concept made to show the idea and several details were changed between here and the show proper. I like to think of it as 'Red' having a dream about kicking monster ass. 😉 - in the White trailer, Weiss (the girl, the announcer mentions her name) is remembering the battle as she's singing. as it transitions from the end of the battle to the end of the song, you can see the scar on her face where she was bleeding. - As for why Blake left Adam, think of the open quote and his response about the train's crewmembers. Basically, she's not down with killing civilians. - Monty Oum (RIP) the creator and primary animator for the first couple volumes was a martial artist, so he liked his fights to be dynamic, not just moving back and forth on a 2D plane like say a Streetfighter game. - Both Ruby (red, Yang addressed her by name) and Yang use the recoil from their guns to help move them around the battlefield (which makes sense as they're sisters and had the same trainer) - fun fact, the twins in the Yellow trailer were old (discarded) character design ideas for Red and White, that were recycled for the Yellow trailer. - You may notice that RWBY represents both their initials and their colours. - RWBY is a series. 9 Volumes (seasons) plus side projects. The first Volume episodes were pretty short because the budget was basically the change they found in the sofa cushions.😋
On the subject of the Red trailer, my personal take is that it's an exaggeration of a real event. Basically, she did visit the grave, and on her way back she did get ambushed by some monsters that she fought. It just wasn't the dozens seen in the trailer and the encounter was a lot less epic overall.
@@Crazael My take is that these were "newborn" inexperienced critters that appear frequently in the neighborhood and "Red" is clearing them out for practice (before going on to more difficult targets.)
@@UrFavShyGuy Due to the closure of Roosterteeth and recently being bought by another company, I think, I think the only current legal way to watch it is physical media, like Blu-ray… I expect it will eventually come back to streaming services or something, but I’m not sure of the best options for now… I think someone uploaded a bunch of it to UA-cam… While not exactly legal, I would guess they are claiming revenue from it… So that might not be the worst option if it’s still around.
The music in RWBY is amazing. It’s all original music made by Jeff Williams and his daughter Casey Willams, during the time of the trailers Casey was 14 years old. It’s insane the range Casey has in the White Trailer
YEEESSSSS LET'S GO!! I'm not the most devoted and obsessed RWBY fan anymore but I still get so excited whenever I see another reactor watch RWBY :D Just a note: the animation for the trailers (and for the first three seasons as well, if you want to continue watching RWBY) aren't incredibly polished. But it does get better! Each of the characters are based off a fairytale if I remember correctly. So you were right on with the red riding hood for the first trailer! "She's gonna get her ass eat!" YOU SAID THAT SO CONFIDENTLY TOO HAHAHAHA Yeah, these trailers don't give you any answers but they do give you a taste on who the characters are! You vibing to the music is so real - and you will not be disappointed!! RWBY's music and soundtrack is just absolutely chef's kiss. Not only does it sound great, but it also expands on characters and gives foreshadowing to the show at times too! Yep, the dude in the Black trailer has a sword with a sheath gun combo going on for him. Blake's weapon is a sword that can turn into a gun that's connected to a ribbon. The sheath itself can be used as a blade too, giving her double swords! (I know there's a technical term for Blake's weapon but that's how I understand it sdkfjlsdjf) Honestly, I don't know why they have axes and swords. Their preferred weapon of choice I guess X-X My good sir, they are not White and Black in the Yellow trailer 😭 they are their old models, I think but they are not THEM them skskksdjfk We have a saying in RWBY: everything is a gun! :D God, I don't know what is a spoiler and what isn't BUT I can say that it's a series...? Show? Idk what the difference between the two is but RWBY is definitely not a movie
It started as a web series, so the first volume is a bunch of short videos (like I think the longest is like 12 minutes or something??) and then later once RT realized it was such a hit and gave them more funding it became a full-blown show with longer episodes ("chapters" in the RWBY world) the increase in funding also is visible as the show goes on as the animation/visuals as well as the engine used to make it was improved.
I love this show so much. Fun fact the Creator of RWBY Monty Oum. Did the whole Red Trailer by himself. Animation and everything. Sadly he passed away in 2015.
One thing many people don't notice on their first watch is that Weiss got a scar over her left eye due to the injury from that fight with the Knight, which you see when she is singing, but not when the fight starts. Also, Blake started the fight using her scabbard to slice those robots, as it is sharpened, allowing her to fight in melee when the blade proper shifts into a gun. And no, those were not animation glitches if you saw two of Blake in some scenes. The guys with axes were a reference to the Axe Gang, and the two girls fighting Yang were unused designs for Red and White (Weiss). That is all I can say without spoiling anything not revealed in the trailers. RWBY has 9 seasons (called Volumes, as each episode is referred to as a chapter to stick to the fairy tales and legends theming), 9 OSTs that contain each song in the show as well as all the episode scores, three canon novels (one prequel, 2 books that are best read after finishing Volume 6 Chapter 1), 2 canon video games (don't need to play them to understand anything in the show), several semi-canon and non-canon manga published by Viz Media, who now own the RWBY IP after WarnerDiscovery shut down RoosterTeeth, two different RWBY x DC crossover comics that the RWBY x Justice League pair of movies were somewhat based on, and a comic published by DC that might be canon(I forget the official stance) that takes place between Volumes 3 and 4. It also has 3 full seasons of RWBY Chibi, a skit comedy spin-off that technically has a short 4th season that was made as part of an animation anthology by RoosterTeeth that was later released as individual mini-episodes, and World of Remnant, which is a bunch of lore and world-building they didn't get a chance to get into in the show, as much of it is stuff the main characters would have learned as children. There was a canon tabletop RPG campaign whose name I have forgotten at the moment, and a four episode animatic style show called RWBY: Beyond that was made in the month leading up to RT shutting down. There were a few mobile games, but they have since shut down, and a board game called RWBY: Combat Ready. Also a lot of merch, but most of that was discontinued when RoosterTeeth shut down, at least until Viz Media gets more made.
the bad guys had axes for the same reason the bad guys in Kung Fu Hustle had axes. Hong Kong gangs have always used axes and worn hats just like how American Mafia wear pinstripe suits and tommy guns. the 2 club girls that fought Yellow/Yang are early concept designs for Red and White.
So most characters in RWBY are usually based off of a story, be it fairy tales, forklore, mythology, or even historical. Our four here come under the Fairy Tale stories Red (Name will be revealed in show) is the easiest to notice, as she is indeed based off of Little Red Riding Hood. The red hood and her fighting a bunch of wolves is really noticable I don't think I've ever seen someone not make that connection. White, is Snow White. They did actually annouce her full name, Weiss Schnee, at the very start of her tralier, but it was in a kinda hard to hear and easy to miss speaker/annoucer effect that many people miss the first time watching it. Her name is in German and translates to White Snow. Also the song she's singing in her Trailer is called Mirror Mirror part 1 Blake is a little less noticable at this point, but we do have some things that point to Beauty and the Beast when your already aware of what to look for. Firstly the guys name being Adam. A fun fact in Disney's version of Beauty and the Beast the Prince's name, though never said is the movie, is in fact Adam. Also in The Red Trailer the line for black in the song in the background starts with 'Black the Beast'. The refernces to the Beauty part will pop up more in the actual show Yang is based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The guy she's meeting is named Junior, and the DJ is waring a Bear Head. Most importantly her long blond hair is made to be the most noticble thing. During her entrance to the club when you just get her silhouette her hair is still fully visable, the fire effects when she gets more agressive appears focused where her hair is, and when Junior tears out a few of her golden locks it causes her to get so enraged the colour seemingly drains away and all one can see is her punch straight to his face.
I think the series has like 9 seasons, and there's some specials to watch too, like the World of Remnant shorts, and a few more trailers set between some of the seasons that, like these, are cannon to the main story.
Welcome to the fandom :) I got a couple more comments to add: The Red trailer was the first one made, sort of as proof of concept. The White trailer was the Rooster Teeth heads liking Red and wanting to see another one. They gave Monty (Oum) a bigger budget for Black and Yellow trailers, hence longer, more detailed, and actual voices. They actually gave a reason why Blake left Adam (in the Black trailer). 'Move up to the next car. I'll set the charges' 'What about the crew members?' 'What about them.'
It is a series. Trailers are supposed to be causing questions, so that you'll watch the episodes to find out. DONT SKIP ANYTHING! There is NO dead space in the episodes, EVERY DETAIL MATTERS.
@@UrFavShyGuy It used to be all on UA-cam, but around Volume 5 or 6 Rooster Teeth decided they wanted to use it to lure people onto their own website and didn't post new episodes here. RT is dead now but I think the whole series is also on Crunchy Roll. And there should be re-uploads of the early seasons still on YT, but don't quote me on that. I've stopped watching after V6.
i would LOVE for you to react to the series; the graphycs in the first season are gonna be a bit whacky but thats cause rooster teeth was such a small team. in the second season its already gonna be way better and with every seasons it upgrades. i recommend ATLEAST watching the first 3 seasons. (first season is litterally hour n a half long cause its alot of short 5-8 minute episodes)
@UrFavShyGuy I'm accually having a hard time finding where to watch it. Rooster teeth's website has shut down, not on cruchyroll or UA-cam tho you might find full season 1 on UA-cam. Alot of other random site aren't having it. Even some of the offbeat website aren't having it .I'm going to inquire more
Red Riding Hood? Got it in one! Every character is inspired by a Fairy Tale, Myth, or Historical Figure. Have fun guessing what the inspirations are! Red trailer: the weapon is on the lower back under the riding hood. White trailer: An announcer introduces the character as Weiss Schnee, it is faint and in the background. the weapon was not on her in the opining with the singing, it is when the camera lowered down to the reflection that she had the weapon on her hip, but wasn't visible on the character model until the rotate transition. I would say this is a model selection error in the mirror down pan transition. There are 2 time periods in the white trailer, a concert and a battle, no weapon at the concert. Black trailer: Blake was concerned about the train crew, Adam was not. So Blake left by separating the train compartments with the crew from the one where Adam was setting (explosive) charges. Lots of people miss this, I think it is because the giant robot interrupts the "what about the crew members?" scene so people don't process it fully. Melanie and Miltia are not Red and White, but they are made from early concept art for Red and White that Monty Oum(the creator) liked and wanted to use. Red's name was not said. RWBY is a series by Rooster Teeth, It is intended to be Anime despite being made in the US by Americans(lots of people consider it to be the FIRST American Anime). You should watch it. Started low budget with short episodes(a few minutes) but gains more and more budget as it goes(9 Volumes, you can think of volumes 1 to 3 as season 1, and volumes 4 to 6 as season 2, season 3 is arguably volumes 7 and 8 with volume 9 being its own thing). It was recently picked up by Viz Media (Major Anime producer) after Rooster Teeth shut down.
General note: sound levels from the trailers are rather low, so a touch hard to hear. The show runs 9 seasons so far. The girls will be training to become monster hunters. And be good to see your reactions. Red: of note is that is that the new magazine that is inserted has a particular mark on it. White: The trailer starts with Weiss singing in the concert hall. The mirror reverse is Weiss’s memory of the combat test her family put her through to allow her to leave her kingdom and study abroad. This test is where she earns the scar over the eye. Black: Blake’s sword in its second form is based on the kusarigama, a ninja weapon consisting of a one-handed sickle with a weighted chain attached to the bottom. A rather effective, multi-function weapon. Adam needed Blake to buy time so he could get set to use his ability, the ability to absorb energy and redirect it in a devastating strike. Particularly given he was going to try and block and effectively block what is a shot from a tank. It’s also how they survived getting shot out of the car. Adam couldn’t do a full absorption, but enough to not get them turned to paste. As for Blake cutting free of Adam, he was going to kill the crew and that was it for her. Bye Psycho! Yellow: the axes are an Asian gang thing. You need to register a gun. Axes don’t need registration, and easier to explain away ("yeah Officer, we’re all part of the Outward Bound camping association and me and the boys just like to keep all the gear here at the club.") Particularly in countries with strict gun laws. As for the shells out of Yang’s gauntlets, "shotgun shells" is what everyone jumps to. Not quite, but they have not yet explained the elemental energy sources being used in the setting. With that information, it is easier to understand that they are more like concussion charges. Which also goes to explain moving Yang about. Not to mention charging her own abilities. As for Junior’s rocket launcher, in hand-to-hand mode it has converted to another Japanese weapon, the kanabō which is a two handed, iron shod war club.
RWBY never gets old for me, me and my kid love RWBY! So happy to see new people get into it. I recommend some of Monty's earlier work about a lot of his animated choreography that I used to follow before RWBY existed. Watch some of Monty Oum's earlier work. He had some unfinished starters but I recommend watching Haloid(Halo and Metroid collaboration) then watch Dead Fantasy!(Dead or Alive and Final Fantasy Colab).
the trailers are actually supposed to give you questions wanting to watch the show. this is how most trailers should be instead of just showing spoilers (where you can watch almost the entire movie in 2.5 minutes and basically know 80% of a movie and have already seen the coolest scene)
OK SO, if no one else has broken it down for you I will. RWBY IS a show. It has run for 9 seasons so far, maybe 10 if they can pull their shit together. The four trailers introduce you to the basic concepts of the four main characters: Ruby (yes, the show is pronounced the same way), Weiss, Blake and Yang. The entire show follows them and a host of secondary characters. Music and themes are very important to the show, so if you want to do musical reactions, I am very sure that the fandom would appreciate it immensely, should you choose to continue this series. Of course, I would LOVE for you to react to the whole show. Hope you like what you see!!
Please watch the series! You won't regret it! Also, the show takes place over around 2 and a half years. So From vol 1 - 9. Ruby is 2 years younger than the rest of the main cast. 15 at the start, 17 by vol 9. The others are 17 at the start, and 19 by vol 9. If you like Shonen anime or anything with intense backstory and lore, you need to watch this show. W video!
the thing about how only the DJ in yellow had the sense to bring a gun is hilarious with the added context that originally Junior only had a baseball bat for the last fight. Monty decided while animating that this was boring and announced without context that he was adding more rockets, and then presumably cooked up the Bat-zooka from scratch to give Junior a way to shoot back. Which kind of says a lot about Monty Oum as well really.
The characters in their world are based off stories and myths in our world. Team RWBY: Ruby (Xiao Long) Rose - Red riding Hood Weiss Schnee - Snow White Blake Belladonna - Beauty and the Beast Yang Xiao Long - Goldilocks
Good catch on Red being inspired by Red Riding Hood. The other girls are also inspired by fairy tales. White: Snow White Black: Belle (Beauty and the Beast) Yellow: Goldilocks
Monty was an absolute genius. His understanding of movement and his creativity with animation is still unmatched in my eyes. Everything he touched just had so much style and soul, it's mind-blowing. His death destroyed me. I was never really one to care about 'celebrity deaths' or things like that, but seeing what this man could do, seeing all the energy and life he had, and to be taken away so young... It still makes me mourn for him. Please, please react to whatever works of his you can because they are utterly unique experiences. From 'Haloid' and 'Dead Fantasy', to his 'Red vs Blue' fights, and the first 3 volumes of Rwby, they're just... if you love combat choreography, there's really nothing quite like it. He should've had so much longer.
Rwby has a lot of stuff to it. A mini series called World of Remnant that fills things in about the world. RWBY Chibi. Rwby Fairy tales. Rwby Icequeendom. I would also wait until after V3 to watch any of this stuff. Each volume finale has an after credits scene try to keep that in mind. Volume 9 also has a bonus ending epilogue, not in the main show, might be on YT. Each volume of RWBY also basically has a full album of music for it, and the music is really good. You could probably react to the music after each volume, or just listen to it on your own time.
I agree. And I'd add that it's best to ignore those who say it went downhill after Monty's death. According to what I've read so far, it seems like it was planned in advance so the main stuff for the later volumes was written by Monty himself. And in my opinion, Monty's strength seems to be motion, not storylines. He creates the rough draft and the other two writers probably made adjustments so the story would flow better 😅 (I'm a writer and artist currently but I want to be a director one day)
@@jenmiranda13 Yeah, I think people say that because V4 is a bit slower. Its like going from a rollercoaster ride, to suddenly a merry go round. XD its just needed to move the plot in some places. V5 has cool moments, and V6 especially picks things up again. Though also there are just some major haters of the show, which is sad to see.
The black trailer was confusing to everyone when they first saw it. Goodbye? Why? But it is actually tied to the story in the show. It just lacks so much context in the trailer that it's confusing. Also, the weapons all have names, red is crescent rose, then myrtenaster, gambol shroud, ember celica.
Well part of it is also explained in the trailer, Blake asks about the crew members when they're setting charges and Adam's response (not a spoiler, she says his name in the trailer) was "what about them?" Implying he's planning on blowing up the whole train, crew included. Before then, she's supportive/confident ("looks like we're doing this the hard way" "don't be so dramatic") about being on the train, but that's the turning point: after that she's questioning of Adam (are you sure??") and uses the mech as a reason to try and get Adam off the train even. When it's defeated, she knows there's no reason for Adam not to continue on the train so she cuts of the rear cars to prevent any unnecessary casualties. At least that's how I saw it when I watched it for the first time. Take that as you will.
wait wait wait... so... for Blake's trailer, the red sword with a sheathe that can launch it out with gunpowder charges... Did Monty posthumously inspire Hideo Kojima for the Revengance game that features a fairly prominent villain with a big Red katana style sword that is launched from its sheathe using charges? Huh.
I forget when both came out… Weren’t they around the same time? Either way I’m not sure if it was the first occurrence of that… Even if not shot out like a gun, I think there have been occasions where people have flicked the blade out or something, somehow… I don’t know.
@@KitsyX Oh its probably not the first iteration of such a gimmick in fiction. Be it some novel or even old school japanese shows like Lone Wolf and Cub, who has its own share of crazy gadgetry ideas mixed with swords and other melee or thrown weapons. But its neat how both characters use this same gimmick and use red swords.
To watch RWBY the internet archive has it currently bc the old company that owned it shut down and the new company that owns it hasn't uploaded it anywhere. The legality of this is dubious but obviously if you don't tell anyone where you got the videos then I guess we'll never know 🤷♂
Nice reaction, be lookin out for the next one. =) Okay, i'll pick on the "animatic" thing. These trailers aren't animatics. RWBY is (depending on your preferential term) an anime, a cartoon, or an animation/animated series (they're synonyms). An "animatic" is a storyboard the moves, and while the Red trailer _almost_ qualifies, it is more properly a technical demonstration used as an elevator pitch: Monty created did the animation by himself and used RT's in-house music department to supply the song, to pitch an idea he had for a series to RT management. The White trailer is actually an extension of that, a second elevator pitch to try to convince them, but turned out to be unnecessary as the series was greenlit off the Red trailer alone. This is why the voice acting wasn't present in the first two trailers, and why the Red trailer specifically is somewhat out of character for the as-yet-unnamed-publicly Red character. That said, they are plot-relevant, so it's important that you watched these if you're considering reacting to the rest of the series (which you should do, as a series it's good enough on it's own, but also has an active fanbase who will show up and do all the things the algorithm likes, ha ha...).
fun fact: all the song's lyrics have meaning. Also every character from the show is based of either fairytale, myth or legend (there is even one based off ice cream). for the fight, most fight aren't one sided and goes back and forth (i can count on my hands the number of one sided fight that lasted more than 20 sec over all the 9 season, they only do that to make a powerskale and it is rare). also the red and white character in Yellow trailer are the beta version of "Red" and "White", not the actual one.
"Your hopes have become my burden. I will find my own liberation..." means just what you saw in the video. His hopes included killing all of the crewmembers on the train, while hers included saving them. However, both wanted to liberate material from the train, i.e. rob it. So, his hopes of recklessness regarding life did not match up with hers. So she decided she'd find her own way to what she considered a different type of liberation. There is more meaning to it in the series, especially regarding their different types of liberation that they're seeking, but it would be spoiling the show for you if you decided to watch it. Adam's (the guy in the black trailer) gun was the sword's sheath. She's asking if he really wants to try the move he's going to try. He has to stand in the way of the blast, so if his sword isn't able to absorb all of the energy, he'll get roasted. He used the time to prepare to absorb the amount of energy he expected to come his way, and send it back at the machine that fired it. To do that it had to hit his sword, hence the short conversation. For Yang, pretty much it's saying that scathing eyes, critical eyes that like to judge others, ask that we be symmetrical, as in beautiful, and easily processed, easily seen as pleasing to the eyes, by those critical eyes. However, every mis-shapen spark, as in not physically beautiful in some way, has an unseen beauty that is greater than its criticized physical lack of beauty. The axes are an ode to the Axe Gang. The Axe Gang was a gang controlling Shanghai, starting in 1921. They'd wear black suits and carry axes as their preferred weapon. The movie Kung Fu Hustle had them acting like the Italian mafia. Hence the men wearing black suits and carrying axes in the trailer. No, they're not the girls from the earlier trailer. These girls are named Melanie and Miltia. As announced at the beginning of the White trailer, her name was Weiss Schnee. The girl in the Red trailer had a hood with cape. That girl doesn't. They used the concept art for the models for them, but they're not them. Each trailer is about just 1 of the 4 girls. The only one with a second one is when the girl in the Red trailer meets her sister in the Yellow trailer at the end.
Spoiler free synopsis of the show. Four exceptional teenage girls enroll in an elite academy that trains exceptional people to fight the plethora of monsters and ultra villains that inhabit their world. All aided by a mysterious power called 'DUST'.
Thank you for reacting to RWBY! Please watch the series itself. If you are not convinced after episode 8...what am I saying, everyone is hyped about the series after episode 8!
I'm pretty sure I now fully understand why SHE said, "Are you sure?" and that it isn't much of a spoiler: after giving him a chance to WANT to stop her from leaving, she was giving him another chance to still be capable of doing so. While "Puss in Boots" isn't the story most often quoted with reference to her, I think that's mostly due to lower audience familiarity and you're seeing contrasting references to the fairy tale in her past and in this trailer. In general, it's a genius of Monty Oum's work that you not only see these characters' strengths but their weaknesses, without the need for any overt exposition.
So, you did watch second trailer with subtitles, they literally say Weiss' name when she's introduced in the beginning... you just somehow skipped past it...
Weiss is definitely the weakest of the four. In terms of formal technique she might be the best, but the other three have far more combat experience than she does, even Ruby who is two years younger. In a no holes barred fight Weiss would have the worst time. Followed by Yang. Even though Yang is really strong her weakness is agility fighters and that's what the rest of the team is. Ruby versus Blake... I honestly don't know. Blake has more experience and she's sneakier, but she couldn't do enough ranged damage, and Ruby is lethal to close against. I think it would depend on the terrain. If it's relatively open terrain then Ruby would take it, but if it's very cluttered terrain where Blake could make use of her sneakiness then she'd take it.
"What about the other passengers?"
"What ABOUT them?"
That's why.
It’s FNDM.

The White trailer was Weiss (the girl) remembering her training while she performed at a concert.
I think technically it wasn’t training, it was a test.
@@KitsyX Yes, if she won, she could go to Beacon Academy.

Rest in Peace Monty 🕊️
- Yes, it's pronounced 'ruby'.
- when you go into something blind, it's natural that you're gonna miss some details. RWBY did a good job of foreshadowing a lot of things, so every once in a while there's a reveal, and you think back and go "ooo, they were hinting at this there, there, and there."
- most characters are inspired by/based on something (fairytales, legends, novels, history, etc). and yes, 'red' here is inspired by Red Riding Hood.
- the vast majority of characters have weapons that can change from some form of gun into a close combat weapon. Or to quote from Vol 1 Ep 2, "It's also a gun." 😄
- While the White, Black, and Yellow trailers are canon backstory for the show, the Red trailer is not. It was more of a proof on concept made to show the idea and several details were changed between here and the show proper. I like to think of it as 'Red' having a dream about kicking monster ass. 😉
- in the White trailer, Weiss (the girl, the announcer mentions her name) is remembering the battle as she's singing. as it transitions from the end of the battle to the end of the song, you can see the scar on her face where she was bleeding.
- Both Ruby (red, Yang addressed her by name) and Yang use the recoil from their guns to help move them around the battlefield (which makes sense as they're sisters and had the same trainer)
- fun fact, the twins in the Yellow trailer were old (discarded) character design ideas for Red and White, that were recycled for the Yellow trailer.
@@Crazael well, your theory and mine could work together. A dream inspired by an actual encounter, then cranked up to 11 in the dream.
@@Crazael My take is that these were "newborn" inexperienced critters that appear frequently in the neighborhood and "Red" is clearing them out for practice (before going on to more difficult targets.)
btw where do i watch rwby

I'm not the most devoted and obsessed RWBY fan anymore but I still get so excited whenever I see another reactor watch RWBY :D
Just a note: the animation for the trailers (and for the first three seasons as well, if you want to continue watching RWBY) aren't incredibly polished. But it does get better!
Each of the characters are based off a fairytale if I remember correctly. So you were right on with the red riding hood for the first trailer!
"She's gonna get her ass eat!" YOU SAID THAT SO CONFIDENTLY TOO HAHAHAHA
Yeah, these trailers don't give you any answers but they do give you a taste on who the characters are!
(I know there's a technical term for Blake's weapon but that's how I understand it sdkfjlsdjf)
Honestly, I don't know why they have axes and swords. Their preferred weapon of choice I guess X-X
My good sir, they are not White and Black in the Yellow trailer 😭 they are their old models, I think but they are not THEM them skskksdjfk
We have a saying in RWBY: everything is a gun! :D
God, I don't know what is a spoiler and what isn't BUT I can say that it's a series...? Show? Idk what the difference between the two is but RWBY is definitely not a movie
lmaooo everything is a gun is wild
It started as a web series, so the first volume is a bunch of short videos (like I think the longest is like 12 minutes or something??) and then later once RT realized it was such a hit and gave them more funding it became a full-blown show with longer episodes ("chapters" in the RWBY world) the increase in funding also is visible as the show goes on as the animation/visuals as well as the engine used to make it was improved.
bruh rwby reactions have been on the rise SO MUCH for the past year like i see SO many youtubers now reacting to it and im SO HYPED
I love this show so much. Fun fact the Creator of RWBY Monty Oum. Did the whole Red Trailer by himself. Animation and everything. Sadly he passed away in 2015.
Blake left Adam because he was willing to kill the innocent train workers for his goal, and Blake doesn't kill innocent people.
So few people realize that
One thing many people don't notice on their first watch is that Weiss got a scar over her left eye due to the injury from that fight with the Knight, which you see when she is singing, but not when the fight starts.
3:52 That was her using the recoil of the gun to add extra "oomph" to her attack. A thing that happens a lot in RWBY.
the bad guys had axes for the same reason the bad guys in Kung Fu Hustle had axes.
Our four here come under the Fairy Tale stories
Red (Name will be revealed in show) is the easiest to notice, as she is indeed based off of Little Red Riding Hood.
Also the song she's singing in her Trailer is called Mirror Mirror part 1
Blake is a little less noticable at this point, but we do have some things that point to Beauty and the Beast when your already aware of what to look for.
Firstly the guys name being Adam. A fun fact in Disney's version of Beauty and the Beast the Prince's name, though never said is the movie, is in fact Adam.
Also in The Red Trailer the line for black in the song in the background starts with 'Black the Beast'.
The refernces to the Beauty part will pop up more in the actual show
Yang is based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Long time noe see @Shy Guy! and this is the series that coined the phrase "look at my cool weapon; it's also a gun!"
lmaoooooooooo
@@UrFavShyGuy Wait until you find out who pinocchio is!
Ruby (the girl in red) was visiting a grave, she wasn’t the one dead.
Yup. A girl stands in front of a tombstone. Obvious first thought: the girl must be dead... 🤣🤣
Watched the first two minutes so far... you are NOT ready for this show.. I can't wait, subscribed.
Rwby is my personal favorite show
I think the series has like 9 seasons, and there's some specials to watch too, like the World of Remnant shorts, and a few more trailers set between some of the seasons that, like these, are cannon to the main story.
Welcome to the fandom :)
I got a couple more comments to add:
The Red trailer was the first one made, sort of as proof of concept.
I'll set the charges'
'What about the crew members?'
'What about them.'
2:52 That's common knowledge at this point. If anyone tells you otherwise, they're just trying to fuck with you.
It is a series. Trailers are supposed to be causing questions, so that you'll watch the episodes to find out.
DONT SKIP ANYTHING! There is NO dead space in the episodes, EVERY DETAIL MATTERS.
Just like the Trailers. Don't skip. READ THE QUOTES!

@UrFavShyGuy I believe it is on crunchyroll, now. I'm not sure, I bought the blu-ray collection up to volume 5.

Omg YESSS!!!!!!! RWBY IS AMAZING!!!! This started as a UA-cam show, almost no backing other than the fans hype
White's name is said at the very start of her trailer. So you're only missing Red's name.
Blake said good bye to Adam because he didn't care if the innocent crew members got caught in the explosion they were setting up.
Just seeing new people react to RWBY foir the first time is always amazing. Hope you react to the series!
What you need to know. Characters are based on myths and fairy tales. And. Basically everything is also a gun haha
reacting to rwby soundtracks after finishing a volume is like a "must do" for rwby reactions.
Great reaction vid. Love to see new viewers get into RWBY.
She be 14 or so there! LOL!
I see RWBY reaction, I hit like
The characters in their world are based off stories and myths in our world.
Team RWBY:
Ruby (Xiao Long) Rose - Red riding Hood
Weiss Schnee - Snow White
Blake Belladonna - Beauty and the Beast
Yang Xiao Long - Goldilocks
Good catch on Red being inspired by Red Riding Hood. The other girls are also inspired by fairy tales.
White: Snow White
Black: Belle (Beauty and the Beast)
Yellow: Goldilocks
Just red and yellow are sisters, reds name is Ruby ( yes, the show IS called rwby and her name is Ruby )
He creates the rough draft and the other two writers probably made adjustments so the story would flow better 😅 (I'm a writer and artist currently but I want to be a director one day)
@@jenmiranda13
Yeah, I think people say that because V4 is a bit slower.
Its like going from a rollercoaster ride, to suddenly a merry go round. XD its just needed to move the plot in some places.
V5 has cool moments, and V6 especially picks things up again.
Though also there are just some major haters of the show, which is sad to see.
Please react to RWBY! You will get context in the show. This is in my top 5 shows.
The legality of this is dubious but obviously if you don't tell anyone where you got the videos then I guess we'll never know 🤷♂
Oh ya, you'll enjoy this series. Addiction comes after episode 8.
hio basicly you can say that EVERY weapon has a close- and a ranged combatmode, and one of the most used quots for that is
"its alsow a gun"
Fun fact, the singer of nearly every RWBY song was only 13 when these trailers came out.
Also this isn't an Animatic this is an animation
Glad someone said it
@@willwatts6733 2:31 my comment made it in a video
Nice reaction, be lookin out for the next one. =)
Okay, i'll pick on the "animatic" thing.
Rwby ❤
Their names are Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long.
16:36 The answer to that question is at 14:18 up to 14:26
"Your hopes have become my burden.
If you liked these trailers, might want to check out SLVR, its a fan made animation, showcasing 4 heroes (and some villains) in a similar format.
Thank you for reacting to RWBY! Please watch the series itself. If you are not convinced after episode 8...what am I saying, everyone is hyped about the series after episode 8!
white's name was said at the very beginning but it's a bit hard to hear and easy to miss, the announcer calls her onto stage as weiss schnee
Series, @Shy Guy!
This is one of my favorite shows. I think you’d like it if you watched the series.
17:06 Let me guess, you were distracted by her walk and didn't notice the bird.
White, black, and yellow are all in grade 9 or 10 of high school. Red is in grade 7 or 8
I'm pretty sure I now fully understand why SHE said, "Are you sure?" and that it isn't much of a spoiler: after giving him a chance to WANT to stop her from leaving, she was giving him another chance to still be capable of doing so.
Where can we watch rwby please anyone?
❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
Try avoiding skipping, or the community will eat you alive.
