(That why Ken look older in the Arena game.) Shinji can only be save in Persona 3 Portable if your take the girl as the MC. ^^'
Persona 3 Dancing in the Moonlight spin-off was very important release as the time, cause back then it was the first new Persona 3 project in about 10 years. OP lyrics also reflect that. There were also many rumors that Atlus releasing P3 Dancing and making high res models for P3 characters was a test for potential future remake, to see if audience was still interested in P3 as a whole. Guess test was a success ;)
Note that the compilation you used was actually missing one final opening that came out this year: This one for "Persona 5: The Phantom X" or P5X for short. You should check that one out too.
The Butterfly is a reoccurring theme of the series, in persona 1, 2 innocent sin and eternal punishment its a actual character. There is also a compilation of the openings that has a translation to the japanese text from persona 1 and persona 2 innocent sin.
@@Gamer14867 Persona Q 1 and 2 are indeed not important although they are canon. And 4 dancing is also canon. Side note I hope we get to see Erina and Toshiro in 5 phantom so we can see their normal 3D models from the concept art and since Sophia and Zenkichi's data was found in the game they have a good chance of making it
@joopvanhedel1372 by "most spinoffs not being important bc they don't remember anything after" I meant the Q series, and the P3 & P5 dancing games. Also again innocent sin isn't canon since it never actually happened, and portables FeMC route isn't canon either
Persona 4 Arena is like a sequel to both Persona 3 and Persona 4. And yes, those two are on the same universe. I recomend if you wanna know what happened to the SEES after P3.
Oldsona fan here! So for Persona 2, the game is actually a duology. Eternal Punishment is a direct sequel to Innocent Sin, not DLC. While most of the games generally have their own standalone story, Persona 1 and the Persona 2 duology have a way more tangible connection in comparison to the other games. Newer games will usually have easter eggs referencing the older games sprinkled around, but Persona 2 actually included a lot of Persona 1 characters as part of the main cast. I don't think you'd necessarily have to play Persona 1 to enjoy Persona 2, but I'd personally recommend it to understand a lot of the references and characters more. The newer games (3-5) are much more loosely connected and don't tie into each other much. P1-2 and P3-5 are structured much differently gameplay-wise. Of course spinoffs/side games like the Q games and the P4 Arenas offer direct crossovers outside of the mainline games though. Also, the day-by-day calendar and social link systems were not implemented until Persona 3. A lot of people get put off of the older games because of their age and the older graphics in comparison to Persona 3-5, but both 1 and 2 have fantastic characters and story if you decide to get into them! (Persona 2 is my personal favorite Persona game in that category). The gameplay in terms of battle can get tedious for the older games unfortunately, but overall I'd say they're great experiences. If it gets you any more interested, there's a lot of interesting lore with the Velvet Room and its attendants as well.
@@NotMiguel5 The P2 Duology has the best story imo, sad people never get to experience them due to Atlus’s decision making as the only way to play the is on the original hardware, or emulation. Maybe one day we’ll get another proper port or remake, only time will tell.
@@NotMiguel5 Most people nowadays play the PSP versions of the games using an emulator, which is how I got into them. It's unfortunate that Atlus hasnt decided to port them like they did with Persona 3 Portable to make them more accessible though
Treat persona 2 games as part 1 and part 2 They never used Burn my dread for normal boss fights, however, rap version of it called ~last battle~ used in final boss fight (original has completely different lyrics btw) Reload changed p3 female singer because previous is too old to preform (and smokes *a lot* ). Last time she singed for Persona game is Q2 Lotus Juice is persona 3 rapper, they never changed him FES op might have cool song but *all* of visuals were just taken from the game. Many people consider it as disrespect People are mixed on p1 psp soundtracks for changing ost to songs that were made in style of p3 with complete disregard for original intent. What makes it even weirder is that it was made by one of composers for original soundtrack. He even said in one of his interviews that he regrets making original one (idc why tbh) There is only 2 universes in persona: Persona 1 and Innocent Sin happened in first one. All of them *except* Innocent Sin happened in second one
So to run down why there is a gap between Persona 2 Eternal Punishment and Persona 3 original, so Atlus the company that makes Persona was focusing on their other series's that they make and Atlus reworked the whole series starting with Persona 3. Also another fun fact, if Persona 3 flopped, Atlus would have filed for Bankruptcy because their other series at the time weren't doing well either.
Also another thing was that Persona is a spin-off series to a main series called Shin Megami Tensei that have also released 5 mainline games like Persona!
11:21 the original one is called memories of you its the credits song in p3 And p3 fes opening is a mix of it and burn my dread with some bars from lotus juice
The stuff you talked about the P3 music there, The original P3 intro has a Remix called Burn my dread -last battle- that plays on the last battle of the game and also on reload's, they wanted to give this feeling of a cicle, the first music you listen is also the music that plays on the last battle, reload don't has the normal Burn My Dread but Full Moon Full Life is basically Burn My Dread 2 so the symbolism is still the same. The FES opening is a Remix of the Ending Credits song called memories of you, the FES version has a DLC so it's like they're saying "the end of this story is the beggining of another" or something in these lines.
When comparing potential crossovers, one important tip I always have for people is what I call the Rule of Focus. The reason for this is that, whenever a crossover is present, it implies that elements from each game are relevant, however the most important plot aspects of that is which main character from which game is portrayed as the Protagonist. The Rule of Focus essentially states that whichever protagonist gets more focus is the one whose game and story elements has more impact on the story, however, it does not mean that the other games story elements are not relevant. Basically The Protags game is the A Plot, while the collab games plot is the B Plot. As an example, Persona 4 Arena features the P4 MC exclusively, meaning elements from P4 are the primary focus (mysteries, investigations, uncovering the truth, etc.), however because there are P3 characters present, it also means that elements from P3 (loss, tragedy, death) are also important to the plot itself. This is the easiest way I have found to explain stuff like this to people without spoiling any major plot points of the various crossover titles.
I heard (take it with a grain of salt), that Atlus announced that P6 is in the works. But it will probably take a bit, so you can finish P4 and P5 without worry.
The entire Persona series takes place in the same universe. Every game is a sequel to the previous one, but they are only connected in minor ways (characters from a previous game will be mentioned or actually appear in the next game). It's the Arena and Dancing games that show how they are connected directly (canon games). Q games are non canon spinoffs. The most interesting thing is the fact that not only are there multiple ways to gain a Persona, they can be used whenever and wherever they want if they know how.
Persona 4 will very VERY most likely get a reload style remake sometime after P6 so you can take your time getting to it. Golden is still playable though.
As far as we know persona 6 has not been "confirmed" although there was a leak on steam roughly a year ago where atlus made community pages for 4 games that were unnamed and removed minutes later speculation right now is that 2 of them were persona 3 reload, and shin megami tensi vengance while the other 2 are "unown" some datamining says they were persona 6 and refantazio which now has a october release date so 29th everything lining up with the datamining many are expecting a anouncment for persona 6 by the end of this year
to be fair 6 years between p2 and p3 isnt all that big when considering p4 to p5 was like 8 years excluding the spin offs and sequels, remakes etc and its been 8 years already since the first p5 came out so by the time atlus decided on p6 it'd be +8 years
