I have the retention document for my late husbands private number and now want to sell but scared to get ripped off. Could someone advise me on the best buying agent please? Thanks
@@moragbrown7765 I myself buy a few private registrations from the DVLA auctions and then I sell them through a company. The biggest private reg company in the UK is called registration transfers, I will try and be as brief as possible, so you say the reg is on a retention document, so generally they are on retention for ten years, so just check the date and make sure it hasn't ran out, if it's in date contact reg transfers ( I don't work for them or nothing) I just find out of all the companies, there the only ones that have sold mine, so let's say you want £5000 for you plate, they would advertise your plate at around £5895, the £895 being there fee for selling the plate for you, the £5000 they would return to you, once you start getting over £6000 there fee is more, but they will always return you your amount, unless for instance they say the buyer wants to make you an offer, but they will be very transparent, they have Alway never let me down, I hope this helps, if you need any more assistance just ask 👍👍 Just another thing, they value the plate for you, you don't have to go with there valuation, so if they say it's worth £2000, your free to ask for as much as you want, look at there site to see what similar plates are up for, that will give you a guide, I always price mine a bit less, so they are more prone to buy mine, instead of the next person's
Great video. Question : are plates that reflect a particular car like L44MBO generally worth more or less than plates that reflect a name or initials like BEN 1 ? Thanks
Car specific plates generally worth less but also depends on the car. 250 GTO and other classic ferrari plates or McLaren related plates may be worth more than a lot of names
Here in the UK, normal plates aren't either really besides the area in which the car was registered can be found out from the first two digits of the current style ones. Only the police can see your full information from plates and they can do that regardless of what type

I bought two registrations as an investment and for some reason I cannot see sell them. KN08 END and BE11 END. Don't know why
I’m interested in the last one 😂
I like my personalised plate just to hide the year of the car.
Sad
Everyone knows roughly what year it is just by looking at it….. you just look vain and like you want to hide year
Yeah mate everyone thinks your car is new now and worships you
Nice Lambo Plate!!

You can ask the DVLA, by online form

Are custom plates linked to your information like normal plates?

As a Celtic fan I have my own personal little homage to Celtics greatest ever player,

Make some videos on it or would love to hear about what plates you've bought and sold
