In this video I'm snowboarding in Hintertux, Austria and testing the Capita Super DOA. Capita has one of the most popular snowboards in the world with the DOA and now they have upped the game with the Super DOA. I've been riding this snowboard for the past week here in Hintertux Austria through powder and the terrain park. I have the 2020 Super DOA 158 (male 5'10" 200lbs, advanced/expert rider for 23 years). The Super DOA is a fast stable board. It is predictable and stable on edge, while being quick edge to edge and poppy as mentioned in the video. Last winter I was carrying my 5 year old son down a blue run and hit some wind blown ice patches, it was stable and I was able to modulate the edge and maintain balance. I rode a lot of ice and really bad snow last year, the board did great. I don't expect it to be that great in deep powder. It will do great in less than 6" of fresh and all the garbage ice moguls and crappy snow you can throw at it.
I got same features with you but got the 156 this year, i feel a bit unstable however i have riden it only 2 days. Do you think i should get the 158 or is it just about getting used to it?

@@andrewdevegias2963 I had the same crappy conditions this year (no visibility and lots of ice), the board saved my ass several times. such a cool piece (158W).
In my opinion, it's important to have a rather hard binding/shoe combination. As soon as the shoe wasn't very firm, I felt unsafe

Brooo I just got my 2021 SuperDOA yesterday but with with the 2020 Union Atlas and I really can't wait for the season to start. I've been riding for 5 years now and i've learned to snowboard on the soft side of the flex. I think with that board I'm gonna feel like a beginner but i hope i'm going to adapt quickly and do some sick carves by the end of the season.

Give us some info how to get to Hintertux, like best and easy way .I see too many trains, bus, plains .
if you are far fly into munich, and then can get a train to jenbach, and a bus into mayrhofen and stay around there. the ski tickets include bus to the mountain!
I'm really thinking about getting this years Capita DOA. The only thing holding me back quite a bit is the price. Hopefully on BF it will go down a bit so that i could snag one :) Great video!

for park how is the superdoa? I have a zasu and it does ok on park, but trying to decide if i should get a park specific stick or get some thing like the superdoa.

How do you like the superdoa compare to the gnu headspace?
Leng Thao I had the 2020 headspace last year. Sold it and bought the super doa shortly after and don’t regret it one bit. If you’re going out of the park at all super doa is for sure the way to go
The biggest stand out is the headspace is softer and easier to flex. The super DOA is lighter and you can feel the camber more.

classic with rome bindings, the straps are crap - super DOA is an awesome board - I tested it in January on the 1st.Try event, however I think the extra money is not worth it. The normal DOA does the job as good as the Super DOA =)
My brother in law broke his brand new binding straps on his first day. He was bummed out.
Which other Austrian resorts will you be riding?
Is the Strata binding too soft for the S.DOA? How do you think about Union Force or Burton Malavita?

Yo kev! Would you recommend the Super DOA board for an intermediate rider over the regular DOA if budget is not a problem? i normally ride a K2 manifest (similar to the orca) & also spent heaps of time riding the last three year models of the DOA and loved it.
Yeah, the super DOA I think is a good choice if you like the regular DOA. It's lighter and with more energy in the board.
He, would you recommend this board for a experienced woman who mostly is carving on the piste but also does a small bit of park and a small bit of powder. Or would you recommend the normal DOA more ? Or do you have any other recommendations ? (also looking in at bataleon push up)

for most riders, this board is probably overkill and the regular DOA is probably more adapted. Unless you're hitting really big features and sending hit or you're carving really fast and aggressive, I don't see why the regular DOA wouldn't be enough

Could you do me a massive favor and check out the Huck Knife for me? Wanna know how it does regarding jibbing. Also, Im beyond jealous that you just go all over the place to snowboard. How do you even finance that? I have to work as a teacher to pay for my seasons. Being European, I can't imagine just going to America and riding for weeks on end. Id be broke after a week.

I’m having trouble finding a nice brimmed helmet for my giant head... I can’t find anywhere with any sandboxes which I really want to try but I don’t want to order without making sure I could fit. Any helmets I wear I normally remove all of the padding for besides the rear head pad... any recommendations? Do you think a sandbox would work? I have a 62-63.5cm head and I ride with anon m2 goggles

The resort is in a glacier
there are some spots in Austria and Switzerland which are open all year round, but yes they are glaciers and you might get the odd pow day in proper summer

I'm still in Hintertux until the 19th! They don't have the boards for sale directly at the mothership unfortunately.

@@inmotion_snow It usually takes me at least an hour and a half to get from Innsbruck to Mayrhofen using a taxi or coach.
Hintertux is the last stop up the valley, so it is a bit longer.
I've never managed to get to any resort in an hour, the traffic is usually too bad. But maybe it's quiet now, given the current situation. 😏

Canadian could travel to Europe staring back in July. Jenise could come over for the US because she as a Malta passport.

I wouldn’t recommend it for a beginner, not as forgiving if you mess up and probably too much camber and energy.
I mean you “can” but it’s a lot of board for a beginner. It’s like giving a 16 year old a hellcat for their first car, instead of a Toyota Corolla. As a beginner I would opt for a burton custom, capita outsiders, or Rome artifact rocker

No its annoying to ride unpredictable. The idea is good but No.. why a race base, why not camber, why flat , why straight. It tries to do everything and fails at all to me, im not that good tho but I can 720 flat my horrorscope and i couldnt 360 this one. It doesnt carve how you expect it to, it Just wants to go straight and it requires constant babysitting doesnt it
