    In this video we'll show you ten different butter tricks you can learn on your snowboard. We'll start with beginner butter tricks you can practice on the flat ground and progress to more advanced butter tricks. A softer flex snowboard will make learning to butter much easier. The key for learning butter tricks is moving your weight over the tail or nose of your snowboard. Next you progress with your butter by trying them on different terrain and by adding spins and twists. Butter snowboard tricks are great to learn first because you can do them on all types of terrain.

    It’s super helpful to see someone with skill level a bit closer to my own attempting these butters. So many of these videos have super pro level guys making difficult things look so easy. I found that I was having some trouble with these in a lot of the same ways that Chris was at first, and it was nice to hear the feedback and watch him improve. It really helped me on the hill!

    You guys have been a massive part of my progression from day 1 to now 4 years later learning all the butters on this vid a vid like many of your others Iv rewatched countless times. I only have access to uk indoor slopes but iv finally booked my first trip to shred some real slopes in Chamonix, I’m going armed with a descent bag of tricks to send in the park thanks to snowboardprocamp so I owe you a massive thank you for helping me achieve a passion iv wanted to do since playing cool boarders and ssx as a kid like 25 years ago. 🤟

    7:16 - This is actually a really good point. Doing drops into steeps, we used to come in switch, and roll over into our normal stance. This actually gives you a much smoother transition, especially if the drop is more than a board length, and let's you get right into a carve. You should try the tripod as a bipod with just the back hand. This is actually what we originally called a tail press.

    It might be easier with the presses to think about shifting your feet under you when trying this in motion instead of thinking of leaning from one side to the other. Simply lower your body a bit and then shift from the center of your foot to the side of your foot. This is really helpful when trying the nose press.

  • @lapoint26
    @lapoint26 6 років тому +1

    it also helps a ton to do a tripod on steeper slope, you don't even need to push, the board just flows out naturally and you use your hands as training wheels technically lol like you said lots of core strength required to make it look good!

    I was over in Winter Park after Christmas with my kids, and I know that I have to work on my buttering skills.. especially after watching this demo.
    I find doing my cab 180 switch way easier, but just can't get the the regular sorted. I've been snowboarding for about 15 years but, with all the willy in the world, there are some schools which I just have trouble sorting. I know it's all down to technique, I just have to watch this a few more times, and then next time I'm over in Jackson, or the Park I can work on them.
    The regular 90 is ok.. at least!
    (I don't think I'll be trying any bagel..)

    Nice video gus,also chris' gear looks dope :P.....i have one question tough,i saw chris' snowboard isnt elevating as much as keviin's ...it has smth to do with technique or is it just the different flexes on each board?
