That's literally as smooth as it gets, you had to be paying really close attention to catch it live.

No....rewatch the video if you can in slow motion..... the earring drops from her right ear to area below her neckline. She then takes her left hand grabs the earring and hold it with left hand until the song is finished, then quickly tosses the earring to the floor before the medley begins.

Diana Ross and Diana Rigg , my absolute most inspiring Entertainers in history. Both at the top of their game, and to think, I wasn't born until the 70's
Yes, since you weren't born until the 70's, that explains why you refer to Diane as your "absolute most inspiring entertainer." If you had been born earlier, you would be saying that THE SUPREMES were "your most inspiring entertainers." As I recall, Diane was once ONE of THEM, the most successful American vocal group in musical history!!!!! Their popularity was SO incredible that Diane and Mary are STILL enjoying solo careers over 50 years later. Flo, of course, is deceased.
...I LOVE how so many who have heard of Mary's passing, have come to THIS performance FIRST, out of ALL the "E.S. Show" episodes....THIS, was when they upped the stakes for ALL Girl Groups, with INCREDIBLE Gowns, CONSUMMATE performances, and precedent-setting poise for Black Women, on mainstream TV, at the time......They were SUPREME. ...But with Mary's passing, the 'Star in the Background', has FINALLY come full circle..... She will be referenced forever as One of the Greats, in Pop Music Girl Groups, and BLACK WOMEN, who shine with regal stature......for NOW, has become....The ULTIMATE SUPREME. RIP, Beautiful One, TOUCH.....
My favorite DMF performance! The tambourines, the dresses, the color lights in the background, the woman in the audience cheering them on at 1:33, the earring catch... perfection! The camera switching angles at 1:03 is one of my favorite moments of their Sullivan appearances. The Supremes at the top of their game! ❤

This is my favourite performance of this song!
Brian and Eddie Holland, and Lamant Dozier, the world owes you a huge debt. This is from the pinnacle of song writing, and you've brought this one down from the mountain to us.
Through out this whole song, I just couldn't get my eyes off of Florence Ballard!😘🥰😍😜
Take her and go, I'll take DIANA and bw very HAPPY.....
Florence’s story is pretty tragic
This is one of my favorite songs by The Supremes. The title couldn’t be any truer, you can’t hurry love! Happy 79th Birthday to Diana Ross! ❤❤🥳🎉🎊 03/25/2023

THE GREATEST GROUP OF ALL-TIME.
I saw that performance when I was just a young kid. Pure CLASS !
I was 10 when this aired on TV on The Ed Sullivan Show and I love the song and the group ! Very good music !
Look at 2:02 Mary looked so happy to be next to flo. They were not only besties, but sisters. I love them so much
Thank you. Marvelous just Marvelous. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
The Ed Sullivan Show - The Supreme's appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show 16 times, more than any other Motown act.
Hi Barbara
Diana Ross and Diana Rigg , my absolute most inspiring Entertainers in history. Both at the top of their game, and to think, I wasn't born until the 70's
Yes Diana Ross and Emma Peele love it
Yes, since you weren't born until the 70's, that explains why you refer to Diane as your "absolute most inspiring entertainer." If you had been born earlier, you would be saying that THE SUPREMES were "your most inspiring entertainers." As I recall, Diane was once ONE of THEM, the most successful American vocal group in musical history!!!!! Their popularity was SO incredible that Diane and Mary are STILL enjoying solo careers over 50 years later. Flo, of course, is deceased.
Wow what a contrast the 2 Dianas.
...I LOVE how so many who have heard of Mary's passing, have come to THIS performance FIRST, out of ALL the "E.S.
...plus Diana's wig is the bomb! What a 60s Vidal Sassoon look!
