I have this car GLS, bought new, presently at 209k miles and still running like a charm. I plan on running it until it dies. Auto shop says it should go over 300k without a problem.
My wife and I have a 2009 GLS and it came (from Carmax) with all of the optional equipment such as the sunroof and the cross roof racks and audio control on the steering wheel. Couldn't be happier.
Actually my mom was a mechanic, and a drag racer back in her day. She knows cars very well. And from what she tells me, she LOVES our Hyundais. It was a great transition from coupe, sports cars with manuals. My parents did they're research, great cars at great values and prices. Oh by the way, Hyundai has made an impact on the market. In July 2009, their market share increased 35%. Also when other car companies' sales dropped, ranging from 10-30%, Hyundai/Kia rose almost %1.
I have a 2wd limited in red, recently detailed interior and exterior, just broke 70000 and never been in the shop, except to replace the front seat backs, torn map pockets, this year it gets new shocks and struts, caliper rebuilding, fluids, including steering, filters, beige sheepskin seat covers in front, spark plugs, coil packs, pvc valve, manual cleaning of intake valve and throttle body , o2 sensors, new serpentine belts, all new fuses, front and rear light assembly, that's about 900 in the driveway or about 8 k at the dealership, , am I forgetting anything?
Do you recall how many miles was on the 2008? It's not like a second generation Santa Fe to have that many problems unless it's driven into the ground.
The video got the transmissions mixed up... The 2.7L engine is only available with the 4-speed transmission, and the 3.3L uses the 5-speed transmission.

My dad really wants to upgrade our 2004 model to the new 2009 model. Right now my dad drives the old model and my dad sort of hates the interior. Never buy new!! Right when you get off the lot, you are already depreciating almost $5000. Consider buying CPO instead, same warranties at cheaper costs.
I bought mine in November 2007, looks great but is made with cheap materials. I have replaced both front lights, front passenger sun visor, steering wheel was breaking up too, the two hand holders to come into the car also broke, my radio sometimes wont turn on....good on gas and comfortable but cheaply made.
Does anyone know if in the 2003 Santa Fe..Can the vehicle be started if the remote fob is not working? If so, how can it be started....thanks for any help I can be given here.
the 2007-present Hyundai Santa Fe is assembled in Asan, Korea Montgomery, Alabama, United States West Point, Georgia, United States Kulim, Malaysia İzmit, Turkey
yo , santa fe is dif type of SUV ! its crossover medium ! if ya want third row big , go get some MPVs ! besides I had a small family , why not buy a fun to drive SUV like Santa Fe ?
1: People named Wang can be from Canada, just like people named Smith can be from Japan. 2: You can't even spell, so I don't know why you would leave a comment. 3: Because "wang" is in his user name does not necessarily mean that his name is Wang.
Their manufacturer is tied with several other companies, such as KIA, and have often shared inpiration; if you compare KIA and Hyundai pretty much every vehicle in each of their lineups are similar both spec-wise and whatnot.
Well driving isnt owning, is it? And is your friend a car reviewer? I cant trust you with those statements. Like I said we have owned the same 3 Hyundais for almost 3 years now, nothing wrong. Just normal maintenance. Btw, Im 13. How about you, 25-30? I am only in middle school and I use correct grammar and punctuation, and know more about cars then you do. Go figure. ;]
I have a 2008 Hyundai Santa fe limited edition. I have a check engine light on, the fuel gauge doesn't work properly so i cannot determine how much gas is in the tank so now i have to carry a gas can around which stinks up the cabin. It is now winter and the heater blows ONLY cold air on the drivers side. Time to get rid of this. Buyer Beware.
@YouDiddntSeeAnything actually, its just that the UK is pretty well notorious for badly pronouncing "foreign" names... Even Kanye West's name gets butchered
ok im canadain but thats not right but i will admit none of the big three cant build shit now adays. i would rather buy a european car but if u truly like cars u should be imparshal to all the brands and i will admit hyundai has come along way since its start. i drive a SAAB and i love the car only cuz they have time to build a good quality car (9-3 and 9-5) and they are unique to there brand name. but in short i think any car is a good car thill the fuckin thing breaks.
Samsung is Japanese stupid ass. Hyundai and Kia are great auto companies. They have the best warranty and great cars. My family owns three, the Sonata, Santa Fe, and the Veracruz the are all awesome and fun to drive! You probably never been in one.

The hyundai sante fe is an absolute gem. virtually problem free.

do you take care of it or are you pretty hard on it?
Is it roomier than CR-V ?
My mom drives the '21 CR-V and I think it's pretty nice. But the '09 Santa Fe is by far more suitable for a space oriented family
hyundai santa fe or the new toyota fortuner?..i cant decide.
Kia Carnival or Hyundai Santa Fe?
oh, I forgot to mention...that it has a security system...which seems to render the auto not usuable without the remote
love the car! hate the wood grain!

@teofthe i´ve done a test drive to this car. It´s just great. If u think that this car is boring so go to buy a Tata.
Still has nothing to do with the cars. Sure the Camry can "kill" any Hyundai. Still doesn't mean they're crap. Have you ever owned a Hyundai?
we have got electric moving seats
@pyroprince78 its hunday, like sunday. they even say it that way in the commercials.
First comment after 4 years.
6 years

Darren Persad Yeah, I guess they both very well could.

@bombomb09
Great quality but I don't care for a Japanese car ever this time
Only for Korea car it's having more quality
@kbb You mean for Americans?:):)
but more expensive....
not boring enough though
Neither of them. Try best Italian quality: Iveco Campagnola.
