Yes Terry. It's very likely to injure or kill most cool season grasses. It's only safe for warm season grass like Bermuda, Zoysia, St. Aug, etc... If you're trying to kill the Fescue in your Bermuda lawn then by all means go for it.
Will Image be okay to use on Centipede grass I'm in SC and I'm also the lady that does my own lawn 😀 this poa is a real pain 😒 I'm planning on using the image that just connects the hose up to it and spray. Does this sound like a working approach?
What kind of grass do you have? If warm season grass like Bermuda, Zoysia, St. Augustine or Centipede, go with Certainty: golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control
Hi Michael. I just re-checked the label and I don't see any restrictions or guidance around applying later in the spring. I've used Image in the spring and early summer to treat nutsedge with great results. Should be the same for Poa Annua. Let me know if I can help with anything else. 👍😎
I found using Glyphosate (round up) was by far the most affective. Burmuda is already dormant so you don’t have to worry about damaging your turf. Even in the off chance you did have some collateral damage, the Bermuda will fill in come spring.
Ehhhh.I dunno Alan. A neighbor of mine sprayed roundup on winter weeds and ended up with patches in his lawn for most of the following season. I've heard that if you just "dust" the poa with roundup, it can be effective with less chance of hurting the Bermuda. It's something that likely takes experience to pull off successfully though. Do you tend to dilute the rate when using roundup?

Hey Al. I’d wait for a slightly cooler day if you can. Be sure to water Image in after application. You should be in good to go then. Thanks for watching the content.
Hi Ron! Lots of discussion on 41% glyphosate on dormant Bermuda. It works well at a rate of 8-16 oz/A, which is not easy to measure for the average homeowner. Also, for some reason in the last few years Zone 8 has been unusually warm in Jan and Feb which is the only possible window for a dormant application. The Bermuda has not really been fully dormant and sometimes spot spraying glyphosate results in unsightly patches and dead spots at green up. Applications in March for sure will delay green up. Its not worth it because selective herbicides for winter annuals are relatively inexpensive and a specialty herbicide for killing cool season grasses in warm season turf can be worth the investment because the amount used is so little per 1000 sq. ft. A tank mixture of Prodiamine, Princep and Monument with surfactant in the fall will result in nearly 99% control of winter weeds including POA in the spring.
Thanks so much for the detailed response SMK. I've personally seen what glyphosate in winter months can do to a Bermuda lawn come spring time which why I won't do it or recommend it. I got through mowing the lawn (cleaning up stragglers) and there's still some green present. Glyphosate would absolutely smoke my lawn. On an unrelated note, I spoke to the guys at Jerry Pate and they will work on John Deere mowers. If you need parts or services, give Joey a call and he'll be able to help you out. I'll email you his phone number. Appreciate your help. 😎👍
I have tried to find out if this is what I have in my lawn. I live in Michigan and want to know if I need to spray to kill this or should it be left alone? The lawn was put in two years ago and this light green grass seems to be taking over. Any help would be appreciated
He Adam. You shouldn't use Image on cool season grass. It will damage/kill it. I would try tenacity with a surfactant. ron-henry.com/tenacity and ron-henry.com/surfactant Should help with the POA in your lawn. 😎
Heya Splash. Negate is a great product but the way you have to mix it isn't the best for most home owners. The label calls for the entire bottle to be mixed with a gallon into an intermediate mix and then a few ounces of that mixed with a gallon for water for spot spraying. It's a lot to explain in a video and probably a bit intimidating for a total newbie. 🤓
@@RonHenry yeah i got you, i just adjust the mixing instructions to suit me better and it still works fine because the granules are all homogeneous, also it’s way cheaper per 1K sq. ft.
As always, another helpful video. Perfect timing too as I've been having an issue with this lately myself and missed the opportunity in the fall to put down Dimension to prevent it.
I had 1200 square feet of poa annua under my oak tree where Bermuda does not grow and have treated it with Image for 2 months. Did not even phase it and it was going to seed so I had to hand dig it all out. Every body says it dies off when it gets hot but all those seeds left behind just perpetuates the battle.
You may have to try something stronger like Negate to kill it. Digging it out is also an option too. It's more work but great way to prevent it from coming back.
Thanks Ron, great, concise, informative video. I live in NJ and have a good amount of annual blue grass in my backyard. I was curious if there was a specific time of year that works better for applying a product such as this?
@@RonHenry Thank you Ron. Are there any suggestions/recommendations for cool season grasses? Or is the best bet to let it die and use a preemergent herbicide starting in the autumn?
@@RonHenry , I don't want edging between my flower bed and Bermuda grass. What is the best weed killer I can use to kill Bermuda grass and not my plants?
There’s not really one. You can use glyphosate/roundup but you have to keep it away from your desirable plants. II would put pavers (or some barrier) between the lawn and flower beds. That would give you an area to spray that’s not the lawn and not the beds. It’ll reduce the chance of damaging either area.
Glad it was helpful Susan. Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help with anything else. I appreciate you watching. Thanks for the support.
Good video! I am coming to bermuda yard care late having just moved to the SE from the MW. I've just last week finally identified the problem in my yard as poa ... I have the sprayer, I have the Image, and I have the dye. But, what I don't have is the dormant bermuda ... the yard is starting to green up. Is Image still safe to use on non-dormant bermuda? Or should I wait until next February or so?
Hi Kevin, Instead of Image, I would use Certainty paired with surfactant. It will do a better job against the poa annua than Image will. You can spray them now. For Certainty, I would use 1 large scoop per 1000 square feet. Use an 1 - 2 ounces of surfactant along with it. Certainty: golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control Surfactant: golfcourselawn.store/products/hi-yield-spreader-sticker-non-ionic-surfactant-16-oz Hope this helps.
@@RonHenry I looked it up and found the following from UGA for "imazaquin Image 70DG": "Controls nutsedges, wild garlic and selected broadleaf weeds. Add a non-ionic surfactant at 1 qt/100 gal. The addition of MSMA (bermudagrass only) will aid incontrol of nutsedges and escaped weedy grasses. Two applications per year, at aninterval of 6-8 weeks, will be needed to control purple nutsedge. DO NOT applywhen turfgrass is emerging from winter dormancy. Image will severely injure fescuesand ryegrasss. DO NOT apply to newly planted or sprigged lawns or golf greens." So I know that is not the consumer version they alre talking about but interesting...
Lazer is worthless as a marking dye... I as a golf superintendent use Super Signal Blue. You can use way less and see where you spray better. Yes it costs more but you use less and get better results.
Your delivery is excellent. But, improve your video with an “after” so we can see if this approach works. Poa annua and dollar weed are susceptible to Image but as any yard/gardener knows, one application is rarely adequate. Image is very temperature sensitive. You’re wearing a jacket and the Bermuda is very dormant suggesting very cool weather. I’ve never had success with your method. Apply when it’s 80* and sunny & it’s a different result entirely. Have you any suggestions on PREVENTING poa annua? It appears this lawn had a preventive pre-emerge and that only failed in the wettest spots.
To prevent poa in warm season turf either use Spectacle Flo or a combination of Princep, Prodiamine and Image. Agree that Image works much slower in cooler weather. A better / faster option for removing poa is to use Certainty. golfcourselawn.store/collections/lawn-weed-killers Thanks for watching.
There isn't an easy way Jake. Not that won't damage your grass in process. It's best to prevent it in the first place with pre-emergent. You can make it less apparent by suppressing the seed heads with Primo Maxx. golfcourselawn.store/products/primo-maxx-plant-growth-regulator-4-oz
Hi Dale. Unfortunately no. They do make a cool season herbicide, but the Image shown in this video isn’t it. If you spray the product shown on a cool season lawn, you’ll damage it.
Hi eolivares1976. Poa is also called annual bluegrass. I've heard Bermuda called devil grass not Poa. It could be. It certainly creates a mess around here! 😂
Hi Jon. You can water it in after application. Needs to be watered in within 1 - 7 days. So if you watered it in today, should be good to re-enter the lawn the following day. Again, Image is pretty safe but give it a day after watering just out of an abundance of caution.
@@RonHenry Thanks Ron. I was just looking if I could buy the concentrated ingegrediant instead of a "big brand" that has 97% filler in it. I don't see imazaquin available on amazon. Are you aware of a place you can just buy this chemical? I do the same thing 24d and quinclorac. It's much cheaper to buy in bulk than name brand concentrates are are 3% an active ingrediant and 97% filer
@@jckclt Hi Jason. If you're looking for a more concentrated product to treat poa, you can always use Negate. ron-henry.com/negate 1.5 ounces treats 1 acre. I've not looked into where to get imazaquin concentrate outside of what's in Image.
Glad we got it figured out Samanthia. Do you have poa throughout your entire lawn or just small areas? One bottle should be enough if you're spot spraying.
Hi Eleon. Without pre-emergent, poa annua is tough to control. You can physically dig it out if you don't have access to herbicides. Regular mowing will also help your lawn grow thicker which makes it more difficult for weeds to establish.
Will the marking dye stain the sprayer? I don’t have one but a friend does and I can borrow it but don’t want to end up buying it because it stained. TIA.
No. Just make sure you rinse it out very well once you’re done. Literally once you’re done spraying rinse it and then run water through it for 30 seconds to clear out the lines and pump.
Hi Raider nation, yes. The one with the red label. In the video description I have a link to product you need if you want to see what it looks like. Let me know I can help with anything else.
If you're starting over from scratch, you could just use glyphosate to get rid of it. For selective control in a warm season grass lawn, Certainty: golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control
I just moved into this home. It’s in Oklahoma. I’m having to mow in January when I moved in. It’s all my front yard is. It’s awful. I’ve never experienced this.
Hi Russell. A great option for POA is a product called Certainty. It's a professional-grade herbicide that's effective against Poa and absolutely devastates sedges. You'll need a sprayer to apply it. Doesn't have to be a backpack sprayer if you're only spot treating. I'd also use a surfactant with it for best results. Certainty: golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control Surfactant: ron-henry.com/surfactant 2 Gallon Sprayer: amzn.to/3NDY6Cm Let me know if I can help with anything else.
I wouldn't Newton. If the Bermuda isn't completely dormant, you'll damage it. I've seen a neighbor do that and he paid for it the following spring. The only thing good about glyphosate, is it's inexpensive.
@@RonHenry thanks but I work for a large company and I have been doing it for years. But I agree with you, if someone is not a professional they can ruin the patch. But Bermuda is very evasive and will cover it self over time.
@@newtonjunior3314 Ok Newton. Most of them aren't professionals so I'm not going to recommend that they spray glyphosate on their Bermuda as a means to get rid of Poa.

Hi TACPShep. Ideally you'd want to avoid poa in the first place using pre-emergent in the fall. If you already have it in your lawn, you can either wait until it gets hotter and dies off, or use a product like Image, Simazine or Certainty to get rid of it. Image is the cheapest of the 3 options with Certainty working the fastest. ron-henry.com/certainty You'll need a backpack sprayer and to use a non-ionic surfactant with it for best results. ron-henry.com/surfactant Hope this helps. 😎
Ron, since it interrupts photosynthesis I'm wondering about effect on other grasses. In my case I have a Ryegrass lawn in Portland, Oregon. In April, May everything is growning. IF I spray Image in this situation will it also injure Rye? (I know this is all percentages, but generally, what do you think?)
Image is really for warm season grass 76MUTiger. It will damage your cool season grass. Fairly certain it will injure it. Tried image, unfortunately no results at all. Followed all instructions, etc, sprayed my front lawn and no difference with my backyard which I didn’t spray. Just bought Negate, will give it a try this week.
Is there another brand you recommend? Image doesn’t seem to have rave reviews on multiple retailer sites. My bluegrass is getting out of control. I have Bermuda grass
What would you recommend for a sod installed lawn in western Washington? I've been told to use Scott's Weedex with Halt this fall? Anything I can do now (June). I have annua poa every where.
It depends on which kind of grass you have Cindy. You can't use Image on most cool season grass. I'm not familiar with the effectiveness of Weedex or Halt. The best way to control poa annua is to prevent it from germinating in the first place with pre-emergent. Prodiamine is a very effective against poa when applied in the fall. You can see how to mix and apply prodiamine here: ua-cam.com/video/p1sazlEXAXc/v-deo.html Thanks for watching.
Hi Shane. I would not apply Image to a cool season lawn unless you are trying to kill it. It's designed to remove cool season grass and nutsedge from warm season lawn. Let me know if I can help with anything else. 👍😎
@@RonHenry I like the backpack sprayer you were using. I added it to my Amazon wishlist. A little pricey but I think I'll get it in the next 30 days or so.

Image works too slow for me. I’ve had success with Ortho Nutsedge killer stopping the growth. Revolver is expensive but it’s supposed to kill poa and goose grass in the summer
It does require patience for sure ReppinCTandATL. It's slow acting but also less likely to do damage to the existing turf. I agree the Ortho product works faster. There are some other options like Negate and Monument but they're either expensive or more difficult to mix for someone new to using herbicides. Image is much harder to mess up too badly.
@@RonHenry I agree. The more expensive ones are hard to mix with a gallon pump sprayer. I might try revolver this year. Their label has easy instructions for a gallon instead of per acre.
Interesting that sulfentrazone worked good for you maybe combined with Imazaquin it is more effective. By itself it is rated poor for controlling POA by UGA just as 2,4-D, 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba, bentazon, sethoxydim, and triclopyr. All of those were rated poor so they do work but
@@RonHenry yea i totally understand.. use at your own risk.. but Bermuda is very hardy grass. Ive used it on little pesky weeds like poa with great results. The key is to not use it when the Bermuda is coming out of dormancy.. and definitely only spot spray when you're doing this
Thanks for the tips Mike. My lawn didn’t go fully dormant which is why I be afraid to try it. Plus I wouldn’t want some else to follow suit and get a bad result.
@@RonHenry yes you're right. Only do this if your Bermuda is totally dormant. And only spot spray if anyone is willing to do this. Only for the brave at heart😁
Image needs to be watered in as it needs to get to the weed's roots to be effective. This is the biggest mistake in using the product and why some claim it is a poor performer. If you read the directions on the label, the specifics are addressed clearly...so read the directions! You should also not apply Image to freshly mowed, actively growing desired turf. Wait a couple days after mowing. Again, this is addressed in the directions. Gotta love those directions! 😊
Image is definitely not for cool season lawns Freddy D. It would kill or at a minimum seriously injure most cool season grass types. That's why it's effective against poa annua (annual bluegrass).
@@RonHenry I wish they have something for cool season lawns. For my backyard since POA keeps coming back, I planted POA Supina instead, can't beat them, join them lol
My Bermuda is already about 80%-90% greened up in Middle, TN and I have patches of Poa Annua. Temperatures are in the mid 70's to low 80's now. Would this still be good to use for spot treating the Poa Annua areas?

Greetings Ron, I need your advice concerning weeds in my Bermuda. I dont have a ton of weeds, but I do have enough to get on my nerves. Do you think it will be okay to put down a light coat of Spectricide Weedkill (Granular) as a way of driving out the few weeds that I have? Or should I just continue to mow, mow, mow, until the temps are high enough to drive the weeds out? Thanks Ron.
Hi Demetrius. You can use the granular spectracide but the liquid spectracide might be easier for spot spraying. I released a video talking about the benefits of it. ua-cam.com/video/nzkpNlsKIro/v-deo.html Let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks for watching.
@@RonHenry never Mind. I saw it is. Just ordered a case. I’m desperate. It took over my whole yard last year. Very cool Jon. Let me know if you have any other questions about using it. If you follow the process in the video you should get a good result. Just realize it will take some time.
Hi Joanna. Yes you can. Depending on which weeds you're trying to target, Image might not be the best to go with. If you're looking for an easy to use product that will work with a garden hose, look into Spectracide. amzn.to/3yirskm The orange bottle. It's safe for most common grasses other than St. Augustine be sure to read the label. Hope this helps.
Hi Nhan. If you look at the label on the bottle, the 24 oz bottle is designed to treat up to 6000 square feet. That works out to 4 oz. per 1000 square feet, not 2.5. 24 / 6. Because Image is targeted at consumers, I'm guessing they say 2.5 knowing that most people use more than that. Off camera I poured the entire bottle out to ensure there's 24 ounces in it and that was the case. Hope this helps.
Hey Ron, the backpak sprayer in the video is different from the Amazon link you provided. Any chance you could provide details on the one in the video?
Hi gnamakoudji. This is the sprayer: amzn.to/39sUrVE I've fixed the link in the description. You want the dual pressure version. Thanks for watching. 😎👍
Hi Rey Del Los Santos. Some of the Bermuda in my area hasn't gone completely dormant. If you spray glyphosate without it being 100% dormant there's a risk of damaging the grass which will cause dead spots when spring time rolls around. I have a neighbor that sprayed glyphosate on their Bermuda lawn 2 during the winter to spot treat weeds and ended up killing parts of their lawn. This is why I don't recommend it. I agree that if the lawn is fully dormant it can work but if it's not you'll damage the turf. Just not worth the risk to me.
@@RonHenry I see your concern - dormancy is KEY with glyphos, I’ve had SOLID weeks of Frosty mornings down here in the 30252 and ok with the risks.
i used image, but Negate 37wg works way better on poa & is just as easy to apply.
@@RonHenry yeah i got you, i just adjust the mixing instructions to suit me better and it still works fine because the granules are all homogeneous, also it’s way cheaper per 1K sq. ft.
@@SplashBucketz How are you measuring it to create a 1 gallon spot spray mix?
Ron if you have a digital scale you can mix one gram of Negate37 per one gallon of water for spot treating Poa , works great.
Thanks for the tip G4. Appreciate the feedback.
Great video! I've had great luck with image. It will be my main go to!

As always, another helpful video. Perfect timing too as I've been having an issue with this lately myself and missed the opportunity in the fall to put down Dimension to prevent it.
Glad it's useful Brad. Definitely want to get ahead of the poa. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
You wouldn't want to apply this on cool season grass beasyywvu. It will damage/kill it.

We are at 13 days from sod install.
And on a warming trend 😬🤟🏼

That’s a great height for Bermuda. It should thicken up nicely at 1 inch.

Certainty: golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control
Surfactant: golfcourselawn.store/products/hi-yield-spreader-sticker-non-ionic-surfactant-16-oz
Hope this helps.
I just ordered Negate before coming across your video. Thoughts on Negate?
Great product. Just not necessarily the best for homeowners due to how you're supposed to mix it.
@@RonHenry Yeah, I calculated it to be 1 gram per gallon per 1000 sq ft. That’s going to be interesting.
Let me know how it works out for you. It worked well for me last year.
BYD recommends adding surfactant with the spray, will that improve the efficacy?
It depends on what you're spraying Stevan. Surfactant isn't necessary for Image. If you were spraying Certainty, you'd want to use a surfactant.
byd knows best!
He is a wealth of knowledge on Bermuda for sure.
Going with Ron on this one image isn't a foliar spray so surfactant isn't necessary since you need it in the roots
DO NOT apply to newly planted or sprigged lawns or golf greens."
So I know that is not the consumer version they alre talking about but interesting...
Again, great content and good explanation. 👍👍 2 thumbs up!

Would this kill poa in uk lawns . Grass type rye and fescue. Thanks
Hi ringside judge. You wouldn't want to use this on cool season grass. Image will harm / kill fescue and rye lawns. Hope this helps.
Lazer is worthless as a marking dye... I as a golf superintendent use Super Signal Blue. You can use way less and see where you spray better. Yes it costs more but you use less and get better results.
Recently have switched to TurfMark and I do like it better.
I applied Spectricide this past weekend. Can apply Image over it the next weekend?
Which weed are you trying to kill? If POA, then yes, Image is a good choice. Take a while to work but it's a good option.
@@RonHenry I was trying to kill all the weeds in my lawn. I will apply Image next week, as we have freezing temperatures here in GA this weekend.
What product do you recommend for poa control in cool season grass? I have a fescue/kbg lawn, thanks!
Hi. What is your sprayer's brand? Thank you.
Hi Nick. It's a Flowzone Typhoon 2: ron-henry.com/typhoon2 It's also available here on Amazon: amzn.to/3nuCyva
Can you use it on cool season grass?
Hi Dale. Unfortunately no. They do make a cool season herbicide, but the Image shown in this video isn’t it. If you spray the product shown on a cool season lawn, you’ll damage it.
What about the rain, does it wash away the chemical?
It doesn't Jay. Image actually needs to be watered in.
Is Poa the same as Blue Grass aka devils grass?
Hi eolivares1976. Poa is also called annual bluegrass. I've heard Bermuda called devil grass not Poa. It could be. It certainly creates a mess around here! 😂
How much time should I give Image to make it "rain safe"?
Hi Jon. You can water it in after application. Needs to be watered in within 1 - 7 days. So if you watered it in today, should be good to re-enter the lawn the following day. Again, Image is pretty safe but give it a day after watering just out of an abundance of caution.
Where you at in Georgia?
Northeast GA. Gainesville area.
What brand are the rubber boots and where would I buy them? Thank you
Hi Hubert. I got mine at Home Depot. These are a good deal that an equivalent. amzn.to/3NDPPOR
What is the chemical in the Image product that kills Poa?
Hi Jason. The active ingredient in Image is imazaquin. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
@@RonHenry Thanks Ron. I was just looking if I could buy the concentrated ingegrediant instead of a "big brand" that has 97% filler in it. I don't see imazaquin available on amazon. I’m in Newnan ga I have issues with this but wasn’t sure what it was. So my yard over 6,000 sq ft on one side n then the other side is about 1000

Not available in Canada. Any natural way of getting rid of them? Or just get rid of grass all together? Help please. I don’t know what to do anymore.
Hi Eleon. Without pre-emergent, poa annua is tough to control. You can physically dig it out if you don't have access to herbicides. Regular mowing will also help your lawn grow thicker which makes it more difficult for weeds to establish.
@@RonHenry thank you
Very good video!!

What if your front yard is nothing but Poa?
If you're starting over from scratch, you could just use glyphosate to get rid of it. For selective control in a warm season grass lawn, Certainty: golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control

Hi Russell. A great option for POA is a product called Certainty. It's a professional-grade herbicide that's effective against Poa and absolutely devastates sedges. You'll need a sprayer to apply it. Dormant Bermuda you can also spray round up directly on the Poa.

Hi Ron,

Hi Bill. I wouldn't use Image on bentgrass. Very likely to damage it. Really it's for use on warm season grasses
Nice man. Let me know how it works for you.
Interesting that sulfentrazone worked good for you maybe combined with Imazaquin it is more effective. By itself it is rated poor for controlling POA by UGA just as 2,4-D, 2,4-D +
MCPP + dicamba, bentazon, sethoxydim, and triclopyr. All of those were rated poor so they do work but

Hi Nhan. If you look at the label on the bottle, the 24 oz bottle is designed to treat up to 6000 square feet. That works out to 4 oz. per 1000 square feet, not 2.5. 24 / 6. Hi Judy. Torpedo grass is tough to eliminate. Quinclorac should injure it pretty badly while being safe for your Bermuda. ron-henry.com/quincloracdf
Why not Glyphos - your well dormant?
I ran some other product on my nut sedge last season, so so results. I may give Image a shot this year (rated for sedge). Gonna order the backpack shortly 😀
Nice Lawn Journeys. You won't regret the Flowzone Typhoon. It's pretty awesome. Image is a good product. It just requires more patience than some of the alternative herbicides. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Appreciate you watching.
@@RonHenry Yeah after we discussed on your live cast last week, I've pretty much decided I'll go FlowZone Typhoon2. You'll see it action this season. Looking forward to spraying Micro-Greene with it (that one does not flow well with my hose end sprayer.
@@LawnJourneys very cool man. Early congrats are in order. :-)
Thanks for that information !! Because my November application is gone. Got a few of poa coming up. Forgot about image. 🖐😁
Glad it helped Darrell. You want to get ahead of it for sure. It can get out of hand and create a mess in the lawn if you don't kill it. Thanks for watching man.
@@RonHenry u welcome sir 😎
Great video! Question...if you put down proD, can you then come back either the same day or a couple days later with the image?
You can actually do them in the same day if you want.
@@RonHenry sweet! Thanks, Ron!
No problem man. Glad to help
Nice content Mad Scientist.. poa Annua is indeed a problem in the south
Thanks for watching Cedrick. If you're using pre-emergent, it's less of an issue. Still, it's good to know how to deal with poa if it becomes necessary.
@@RonHenry Mad Scientist it's a product called negate that absolutely destroys Poa however its super expensive. Out of all the weeds, I hate Poa and doveweed the most. I went ahead and bit the bullet and purchased the product and I'm glad I did..
Very cool. I considered using negate in the video but as you said, more expensive and you really need to pay attention when using it or you can hurt your lawn. Everyone says it produces great results quickly though.
@@RonHenry use about 1/2 teaspoon per gallon... that's the sweet spot
@@ceddy97 thanks for the tip Cedrick. Appreciate it.
I used image hose end last week but I might have gone lite on the application. I spread it over ~8000 sqft. Hope I didn’t waste the bottle. 🤷🏻♂️
That should work great Curtis. If I remember correctly, the host end ready to spray product covers 8000 square feet. Sounds like you applied it at the correct rate. Let me know how it works out for you. Thanks for watching the content. Appreciate the support.
@@RonHenry I sprayed it, then left for vacation. I’ll know tomorrow if it’s done anything. Hoping for some yellowing in my back and side yard. Fingers crossed.
@@Curtzzz23 How long ago did you spray it Curtis? It takes 3 - 5 weeks to work.
@@RonHenry it’ll be 1 week on Saturday. I know it takes 3-5 weeks but I’m a dreamer. Lol.
I need to start planning for my scalp and preemergent. Georgia spring is coming fast.
It is! Supposed to get a day in the 70s a few days from now. Should be awesome. You already have your pre-emergent down
The ready-to-spray version actually treats 8,000 Sq. ft. versus the concentrate that can treats up to 6,000 Sq. ft. for the same price. Great video though!
Great call out Drayven911. Thanks for watching. Appreciate the support. 😎
I have blue grass lawn i gasped. Lol
I wouldn't apply Image to your bluegrass lawn. It'll damage it. :-)
“Its a really pretty green” lol yes it is. I fight Bermuda with a vengeance. Good video good presentation.
Love Image ❤️❤️❤️
It is pretty awesome Higgie. Effective and easy to use. Just requires a bit of patience to see results.
Not allowed in CA SHUX
No worries Erik. Use this instead: golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control Add surfactant for best results: golfcourselawn.store/products/hi-yield-spreader-sticker-non-ionic-surfactant-16-oz
@@RonHenry not sure but also says cannnot ship to Ca or small fee of $3 will check it out though good looking out there buddy thank you
@@erikpena122 Certainty can be shipped to California Erik
Ok cool yes it can be sold to CA surcharge $3 will check it out thank you again
image runs about 20 bucks.. good thing about dormant bermuda some ppl use round up to save money this time of year because you cant hurt dormant bermuda..
If fully dormant I agree Fred. I've seen a case where the Bermuda appeared to be dormant and in the spring there were dead areas in the lawn. Have to be careful with roundup.
@@RonHenry yeah , jan feb you can but march no way that is waaay to close to wake up time
Never had any luck with Image.
Certainty tends to work better. golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control
If it were only that easy. Herbicide-resistant Poa is horrible right now on some golf courses.
I hear you Bill. If you’re on a warm season course, can go after it with Certainty.
Careful with those image hose ins.
They come out hella fast 🥴🤘🏼
😎Image hose ins?
Hey Ron,
I didn’t see it in the video, but should you also water this in to kill from the roots or is image good on the leaf?
Thanks!
Yes Justin. You need to water in. :-)
