    That metal is hotter so it stresses the grass more. Sidewalks and utilities are notorious for it.

  • @theclassick1

    Tenacity takes a little longer to show it's working. Of course the suffactant helps it to stick to the weeded area and using a dye not only let's you see where you're spraying but colors the ugly end result. Not a big fan of a total grass killer just because it's a longer process for the green up. Your lawn is awesome so the bounce back should be pretty quick.

    It appears that you have a fescue lawn. If so, be careful with cutting it too low, (lower than 4 inches). Also, putting down milorganite or any other products without doing a soil test may lead to problems. Poa is best treated in the fall with preventing germination but to be fair to you, it is one of the toughest weeds to deal with. You may also benefit from watching other YT lawn care stars, (as I have), like "the lawn care nut", "Ryan Knorr Lawn Care", "GCI Turf Services", "Pauls Prime Cuts." Finally, your edges turn brown because they're next to concrete and the heat is burning it up. Extra watering does help. Mine does the same thing, especially since I have an asphalt driveway.

      Thank you so much! Yes learning my grass types as the channel grows... reason why it looks so good cut at 3-4" like you said. I will be looking into grass types that can take a low cut turf for my summer plans! Thank you for the advice and thank you for watching!!!!

    • @brianfolding40
      @brianfolding40 3 роки тому

      @@YardBrah Well, most of the warm season grasses can stand to be cut low. Bermuda being the dominant variety in this category. Depending on where you live, (what zone), determines what will work best for you. If you already have a fescue lawn then transitioning it to Bermuda would be a giant project and if you live in a cool season zone and try to grow Bermuda then you would most likely be disappointed and broke. Please follow and or subscribe to the folks that I advised, save yourself a lot of trouble and money.

Just infested in that smaller part where I can’t pull it up because my hands cramp up after so much pulling. Then looking back doesn’t even make a dent! Nice to meet someone near by (Pierce Co.) with the same lawn issues except I'm about a year behind you. It's been difficult to find good lawn videos in cool weather/cool lawns. My backyard is mostly a ryegrass 3 way blend, but I think there was Poa in with the seed so about 1/2 of it is now Poa. I tried killing it off with Round up a couple years ago but naturally it came right back because of all the seeds still in the ground. It was like I did nothing. I just got my Tenacity and my surfactant should be delivered in the next few days. I plan on using it soon before it gets too cold but I'd also like to over seed. From your earlier comments it took months to get the seed to start growing, would it help if the seed was pre-soaked in your opinion? The process is probably going to take years of Fall and Spring spraying and over seeding, but I'm hoping to get ahead of it so I don't have to do a total kill. I use an old English reel mower called a Webb, it's only 13" wide so it puts down a lot of stripes when the lawn isn't full of Poa, however!

    • @YardBrah
      @YardBrah  Рік тому +1

      Aye I have a Webb myself 😂🤙🏾 ua-cam.com/video/Bcp3neFHKDE/v-deo.htmlsi=YG75WTdLwc51guN7
      So I renovated this season full rye 3 cultivars as well… to combat poa I use prograss ec (ethofumesate) it’s the best I havnt seen poa in 2 seasons. I just sprayed prograss ec a couple weeks to prevent the spring then I’ll spray it again in spring just to be safe. Lawn has never looked better check out the recent vids to see the new rye 😊🤙🏾

    Thanks for sharing your DIY lawn care journey. I despise PA as well and have a bit of it in the lawn. Unfortunately the Tenacity label indicates it’s not for warm season grasses (like I have). I may try it (spot treatment) when the Bermuda’s dormant along with a granular herbicide (Barricide) in late August/early September for a pre emergent approach to stop seed germination.
