Her persona is the opposite of strong. She is very... pageant girl. Someone who is always in control but never really seems to be able to let go and let her personality shine. She comes across as clinical. Clean. No room for errors or offense or any sense of vulnerability. Even some of the supposedly candid and emotional moments in her documentary felt rehearsed and unnatural. Her Nala sounded robotic and stiff af and her Etta James didn't feel natural and too put on. Whitney Houston was actually someone with a strong personality, whose strong sassy Newark personality shone through in any role and even her songs.

@@kissit012 Thank you for proving the point and the victim blaming. Also you forget that this movie came out years ago, way before racial issues and rape culture were spoken about much. Even nowadays, men are seen as inherently aggressive and sexual, and black men even more so.
If a young, skinny, conventionally pretty white woman had accused him of assaulting her, people would have said exactly what you did. "Oh he's stronger than her, oh he's her boss why didn't he just push her away, oh well he was friendly with her a few times so it can't have been r*pe, oh well he's a man and men are always interested in sex" etc etc etc
Hell regardless of all that, it is NEVER the victim's fault that they were assaulted. It is NEVER the fault of the person who was hurt that someone traumatized them. It is always 100% the perpetrator's fault. Period, the end.

Oddly enough I always thought Beyoncé was sorta the opposite of other bad actors. I think she does high-intensity scenes fairly well. It's the scenes where she just has to be a normal person and act natural where she really struggles lmao. It's honestly adorable.
It doesn't surprise me at all that she struggles with acting despite being a performer. She's talked about how's she's not a naturally charismatic person and was initially pretty timid and shy. Her on-stage persona is very clearly something she crafted to be able to cope with it all.
Watch her in interviews and she can be pretty awkward and sometimes struggles to find the right words. It's pretty endearing actually.
The scenes were she argues with Idris and the where she drags the final destination girl through the house...truly immaculate. I don't know what to tell you 🤷🏿‍♀️

Beyonce didn't suffer any damage from it other than being suspicious for a little bit and then scared for her baby for a few minutes. There was no tension. There were no stakes. Girl literally tried to kill HERSELF, which was the most dramatic thing that happened. I wish something more had occurred when he got roofied but nope. Or is it that the idea, image, and persona of Beyonce is so ingrained in what we know of her that when she tries to break away we can't get that image out of our head. Bc tbh Beyonce character wasn't really all that compelling or interesting. She seemed like a regular degular wife and mother. Thats all we knew of the character, wasn't much personality. So really Beyonce didn't have much to work with to begin with. So thought "Maybe is not that her acting in the movie is bad, perhaps the character is just boring enough where all we see is the persona of Beyonce attached to an already pretty bland character."

@@akatie888 I know right! At least in the books I could pretend that he didn't have an accent, but the movie smacks you with it full force lol

I remember reading those in middle school and they're still on my shelf but they were pretty bad lol. The first one was okay, but by the end, it was really dumb. The movie was just..not it lol

It's the ominous smiley face for me. 🙂 It just screams crazy when you really think about it. 'I'm fine' energy when we all know you ain't!

I went to see this with my middle school friends so it’ll always have a place on my childhood. That being said I love B…. But yes some of these line deliveries are rough. But I would argue the kitchen fight was good and that red lace front wig she had was 🔥

Beyoncé telling Idris to go to the Four Seasons if hell is booked up is an underrated moment in US history that should be taught in schools. Don't agree? Argue with the wall.

You're the only one to talk about the four seasons quote. With my pea brain, please explain this quote to me because I feel really stupid not being able to understand from back then when i watched it in theaters all the way to now years later as a young adult.
