    People that complain about the ride on the v2 dont know how to ride one. Was on one today and what a dream. Some people just like to complain

      Glad you enjoyed your ride on the V2. All I was saying was that for where I live
      The bike simply wasn’t the right bike , but glad you had a better experience . Ride safe 👍

    I’ve rode the 890 duke so it’s very refreshing to hear an owners opinion on the Ducati. Now I have a good comparison. Too many reviews try to sell you on a product, but I loved hearing the opinion from someone who’s not even interested in owning one.

    I hace a panigale v2 and don’t find it jerky at all at low speeds but to ride under 25 miles per hour should be in first gear not second gear, that’s why you feeling the vibration

      Love the looks of the bike but for me where I live it was a non starter . I have spoken to others who rode the demo bike and they thought the same thing . Lovely looking bike .

    Streetfighter V2 feels bigger and a lot faster then Duke 890✊🔥

    You have to sort out the rider modes etc. With a throttle spacer, engine breaking on low and throttle on smooth it's butter down low at any speed.

    I will test her this week. Look forward to the V2. These two bikes cannot be compared I think.

    I've heard all aspects of the debate about the KTM Duke chain tension and the QS.. tbh, I would rather run it a tad loose than tight if anything.

    You are right …wrong bike for you on those roads at those speeds. No one should look at litre bikes for village cruising. It needs to run at 6000rpm up - all the time. You could have shifted down a gear for the whole video. I had the Monster Plus and just traded up because I am lucky to live in the Canadian Rockies and I get to bomb around in top gears all day on my Streetfighter V2. Come visit Canada and ride some big bikes!

    I live in Florida, USA so the roads are nicer, wider and higher speed limits so that’s I don’t have those issues

    hmmmm ... that chain tension is WAY tighter than the maximum specified in the manual ... I wouldn't be surprised if that causes premature failure of the counter shaft seal ... you might wanna check for oil leaks from behind the front sprocket regularly. Personally I'd be backing that off a bit though

      This is how the KTM dealer technician set it. He's the expert. I will be keeping an eye on it and would be interested to know if others who have had a 12 month service have had the chain set like this?

    • @stef2269
      @stef2269 2 роки тому

      I also realized that the chain tension was set at 10 mm after the first service; I put it back to 4 mm a few days later.
      I believe that they set it so tight just because I complained about the QS.
      A tighter chain is supposed to make the quick shifting smoother ... but it will most probably ruin your counter shaft.
      Anyway, I didn't feel any significant improvement and the QS is now disabled.

      I set my chain at first to the 2 to 5mm and the bike ran ruff , the quick shifter was terrible. And the chain was slapping around which made me nervous. So I reset it to a big 5mm which has been fine. But I have found I haven't had to tighten it since...I have been keeping an eye on it.

      @@gsd32i I've had several services at my local official dealership, Jim Aims, last one was a 12 monther in october last year - and they've never set my chain that tight

    Thank you for these videos they have been quite helpful and entertaining as well. Same quick shifter and chirpy/squeaky chain issues with my 890r. Although I’m jealous of you that your dealer does loaner bikes😅 You mentioned heat coming off of that Ducati which is a problem my 890R has, kind of on both sides, but mostly coming off the front right. Have you noticed anything like that with your 890R? Really hope it’s an 890 characteristic. Thank you for the chain info. Keep up the good work. From Oregon👋

      @gsd32i  2 роки тому

      Thanks . Yes the 890r does feel warm on the legs at times when at the slower speeds , I find when the air temperature is above 15-16 degrees centigrade , but not as hot as the V2 . The V2 would see me waving goodbye to my licence as I felt it needs to be living at the higher end of the rev range . Am happy with the 890R 🤪
