Definitely one of the best mid range streetfighter around, so close to big brother and unquestionably practicable for every day uses, great vid Martin 👍
Yes mate for sure, as you know the V4 is such an awesome bike but you will understand what I mean by the V4 being a bit bonkers hard on the throttle high in the revs.. the V2 is just a little more useable , thanks 😊
Thanks, yeah it just works , I have always preferred the v2 Panigale over the V4 … the V4 is better , but I personally prefer the V2…enjoy the bike when you get it, it really is an awesome 😎

I’m right there with you. The big bikes have never interested me for the very thing you said. I’m glad the SF V2 delivers, because I’ve been waiting years for them.
It's crazy to think that 20 years ago 150hp was the big bike lol the busa and zx12 were crazy at the time, bmw introduced a "crazy" powerful update to the k1200 in 2004, and now those bikes stock are considered "slow" compared to the 1000s of today
@@Villani_AV yeah it’s crazy , you don’t really need 200/220 bhp on the road , yeah on big bhp bikes it’s nice to twist the throttle and go at low revs or high roll on speeds but for a blast down the lanes , it will actually slow the average normal rider down , I always think you get a better experience riding a ‘smaller’ bike more… less is more on your Sunday ride out :)
@@ProjectMoto like I love speed but I just don't know if the cost of a 200hp bike is really worth it. Love this review!! The sound quality is top notch and really let's me know how the bike would sound if I was riding it. You pretty much covered it all and gave me a true honest review from an everyday rider which just makes me want to buy one.....right now!!! I'm this close to putting an order in haha.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, to me it’s perfect , a lot more useable then the V4 , and although I love the monster ,which is a bit more comfy still, it just has that Brilliant V2 engine in it… you know if you test ride one your definitely want one 😂
Awesome , yeah I just think it’s more useable when you want to have a blast down the lanes, I do think the V4 is the ultimate SF.. just a little to much at times , enjoy your V2 when it arrives.. hopefully just in time for the good weather :)
I have a streetfighter V4 and the new V2 is literally the perfect bike to the point that it makes the old monster 1200 and even the new monster a moot point Great machines and i love the little changes over the V4 in some ways i like the look even better than mine
Yeah I have really enjoyed riding it, the V4 looks a bit meatier then the V2 but the V2 just seems a little more tidy , you having a SF V4 do u know what I mean about trying to get the most out of it on the road?… it’s still such an awesome bike though 😎
I really do love that. As much power as you need for the road. Just need the money. Could we see some more of Paul’s bikes when this weather sorts it’s self out. Great vid btw
Thought I wanted the new Monster but ordered one of these instead - but they don't land in Australia til May. Gonna be in the UK in April - might have to swing by and check one out in the flesh at your joint now that you guys are famous.
Ha , mate that would be awesome, always good to meet people down at the shop :) The V2 is Amazing, I’ve been out on the Monster though the other day and it is still so good
Probably one of the nicer recent Ducati’s , still think my money would go on a V4 Tuono factory, only about an extra grand in it ?? Love the tea room banter, Alan’s what we call a dry little fekker 👍😂!!
Yeah I really like it, everyone rides different and rides on different roads , the v2 or a V4 SF or something like a V4 Tuono is just gonna be someone’s personal choice to what they want or need from a bike really, for me , on the road , I really like the way the V2 rides, ha thanks , glad you enjoy them :)
I'd love one but I do a fair few miles with a passenger and they seem to be forgotten from the design stage these days. I'll be keeping me multistrada. You lads are good for laugh, keep em coming.
Mate 100% , if I had to do any sort of miles ,touring or take a passenger this would not be the bike to have, I would have a multistrada every day of the week for that and my pillion , I’m lucky enough to just get to use it for a blast around the lanes, and yeah it’s awesome , for that, but not practical for long miles and a passenger , and thanks :)
Been looking forward to this vid and it didn’t disappoint, great vid man, bike looks and sounds amazing, wicked stuff , and Paul didn’t kick off either 😂😂
Yeah it really is a good looking bike and it sounds awesome on the stock exhaust,i think it's going to be a fun bike for fast A roads, well done for braving the cold for the test ride mate but i think it's going to be a real weapon when the warm weather comes.A real cool video on this bike really enjoyed it keep them coming, ride and stay safe
Great stuff Martin thanks for that info mate. I've got the streetfighter 848 2014 and I would like to go for the v2 but I don't know if it's enough of a difference for me especially the extra folding. I've had a few years on the sports bikes back in the day so I think my 848 is perfect and I' m really enjoying the ride and I love it. The ole lady might be a bit of problem if I spend 14k 😂😂
Thanks , There is a big difference between the 848 and the V2.. just get a test ride on one and you will know , but yeah there is also a big difference in price .. only you can decide if it’s worth getting in trouble for 😂
I love the sound off that thing wen it starts singing awsom note from it petty bout the roads but it can only improve for a real ride out on that v2 noticed the steering damper on it does it make much off a difrence in the steering round tight corners..? Good short review mate look foward to a dry day rewiew..
Yeah it sounds so good , they all come with the steering dampers and they do help, you got to try and get a demo ride on one of these just to see how good they are… roll on the warm weather, will be riding this a bit for sure!
Thanks , appreciate it, yeah it’s still good at lower speeds and riding around the city and towns, but the Monster is more comfortable and probably a little more manoeuvrable … but the SF V2 has a smoother engine and gearbox though, some people will prefer the monster and some the V2 , just personal preference and how they ride
What can I say - another top job video, and good job braving those shitty roads! I was tempted with this mild winter, to get the bike out, but don't fancy having to wash the bugger when I get home. As for the SF V2 - it's getting harder and harder to resist! My last Duke was the 821 Hyperstrada and that bike did everything for me - a shame that an electrical gremlin caused the engine to shut off, otherwise I'd still have it now. And I love a 'middleweight' naked - you can actually ring the shit out of them, and not have to worry too much about a long prison stint, sure you don't get the willy waving stats, but if it puts a smile on your face who cares. Much as I do love my ST RS, I reckon it'll be a done deal getting this new V2.... or I might end up going S1000R for a willy extension
Thanks , appreciate it, yeah the roads were slippery and I don’t do the washing part either😂😂 it is a really good bike, and I will say I ridden a few of the bmw1000r ‘s.. no I don’t think they are a bad bike at all… until to ride a Ducati Streetfighter :)
Great video again. How's the riding posture as compared to the SS 950? Is it more a Monster than a SS 950 in terms of how much weight it puts on your wrist?
Thanks yeah it’s more ‘ monster like’ then the SS but it does put more weight on your wrist the the monster , you sit more on top of the v2 then the monster too, for me the monster is more comfortable but that’s just me
Nice review! I was still wondering, what about the low down torque? Is the monsters engine stronger downlow? And where does most power of the V2 come in? Just for acceleration at "legal" speed, which is best?
Thanks, ok I have ridden the Monster loads and love it, can pin the throttle no problem and really ride the bike, always enjoy riding it , now the V2 I have only ridden twice in slippery conditions, but this already feels faster, at higher revs for sure the V2 is motoring along at a faster pace, wether you actually get from A-B any quicker probably not much in it as you can only go so fast on the road , the V2 has a more aggressive stance sitting higher on the bike but the monster is more comfortable and feel less aggressive, both great bikes , everyone wants and needs different things from a bike, I always say just ride them and see what you prefer , I will do a back to back ride on them, always easier when you swing your leg straight off one and on to the other one for a direct comparison
To the OP for reference my 821 made 55wtq and that was with an intake, tune. Exhaust The point is a 1200 is going to make more tq and be livelier. However the 959 engine has been updated for years, it’s for amor developed. As a result the powerband is alot more entertaining IMO
Thanks , glad you enjoy it, yeah il be riding the V2 a bit this year I think :) , we’ve just had storms this week and was cold and wet up until then… hopefully the weather looks a bit better next week .. at the moment
Hey mate. Please do a review of this on a dry day :) also would love to hear your thoughts in a longer video on this vs the monster - trying to decide between the two.
Mate I just waiting for the storms to stop and il get out on these.. was doing a comparison video on them anyway , so will be up as soon as the weather is a bit better :)
Yeah I’ve ridden 1200r’s , they are such cool bikes, alway enjoy riding them, these are similar bhp and weight but just different bikes to ride with the riding position, power delivery, gearing, handling etc..remember these are nearly 250cc less but a different engine and a modern design with the frame etc..tbh I like the Streetfighter stance you have and feel when your on the bike, the 1200r has a good torqy engine, and to me a more of a ‘relaxed’ feel and comfort compared to the Streetfighter, the best thing to do is get a test ride on one and see what you think, everyone rides and uses bikes different, even roads they ride on , I think as long as you find a bike your comfortable on and you like then that’s all you need, I like it over the V4 just because I think it’s more useable on the road being less bhp and that great twin cylinder engine
Fantastic review. I was too impatient to wait so I recently got a V4 a street fighter. Can you tell me how critical the breaking /run in period is on a new bike? I’ve been keeping my bike under 7k rpm till 1,553 miles. Thx!
Thanks tbh it is not critical at all imo , I’ve ridden demo bikes that are never really run it at all and they always are good later on , but as a dealer they will say 600 miles and the first service and they are run in full but you should always stretch it’s legs in them 600 miles anyway ..your bike is run in mate for sure and ready to go
I've ridden cruisers all my life and I so desperately want one of these. at first I wanted the xDiavel S but .... I keep leaning more to nakeds.to carve up the mountain roads
Mate u should try one, probably not gonna be as comfy as your cruisers but they sure are a blast to ride… the XDiavel and more for me the Diavel 1260s can hold their own when it comes to carving up the roads… got a Ducati dealer near you? Is so get a Ride on one of their Demonstrator bikes :)
Yeah maybe they will do one, might push the price to close toward the V4 though maybe, possibly it will just be another colour first, if they do have a V2S I don’t think it will be for a while… think they will struggle just to build enough of this one over the next year or so
Thanks, the engines are very different , they are both twin cylinder but the monster has belts and the V2 has the Superquadro engine . It has desmodromic valve system , the monster is 937cc and the V2 is 955 but they are so different
Just depends on how u ride really and what you want the bike for , although they are similar Bhp and weight they are very different to ride, also styling is different etc , personally I would have a SF V2… but that’s because of when/where/how I ride .. but only on some days , I like both bikes tbh, lucky for me I don’t have to decide, I think they only way someone could choose is to ride them, everyone likes different things form their bikes
@@stephenhendry447 that depends on how many bikes the dealer has sold on their allocation and then how many people they have waiting, and it pretty much changes daily , I will find out on Monday when I go to the shop what it is right now
Would you do a comparison with the v4 SF? Right now I’m leaning towards the V4 only because people mention that it generates less heat on the rider because of the rear cylinder shut off at low speeds. I already don’t ride during the winter, I don’t want a bike I also can’t ride during the hot summers.
I will do a comparison, just waiting for our new V4 now , tbh they are both hotter bikes then say an in-line 4 engine bike, personally I wouldn’t say the rear cylinder shut off does too much with the heat on a hot day, depends on how and where you ride, but the V4 engine does get hot for sure , especially if you are riding around slow in town or in traffic
How much skilled I need to be to start think about SF V2 comparing new Monster? SF V2 is suitable for longer distance on road and looks much batter, but ... I am afraid I am not skilled enough, so please tell me SF V2 is worth to try 😁
That’s very hard to say, everyone’s , experience, ability, mentality is different , we all ride different also.. I am one for people to learn motorcycling by going through the different the different engine sizes and building up to higher BHP.. if you are already thinking or worried about it then maybe not, personally I think the Monster is a fantastic bike for all levels of riders and probably, for me anyway, more comfortable, only you can decide what you like and want from a bike
Yeah and they are 2 very different bikes to use on the road as you say.. unfortunately only you can make that decision my friend .. both awesome Motorcycles though 😎
Compared to what? It’s the same engine as the Panigale V2 so will be brilliant as usual I guess, it’s only just been released but I see no reason for it to have any problems, they are reliable
Personally I really like it ,it’s a great twin cylinder engine.. but everyone likes different sounding bikes and exhaust , and thanks, appreciate it :)
Yeah definitely, is a lot easier to use as a road bike then the V4 , and has that extra punch then the Monster, awesome bike even in these conditions 😎
Yeah sounds good, this has a stock exhaust in the video, but exhaust sounds are personal to people what they like tbh, sounds good when your riding on the throttle:)
I’ve not heard anything, I’m guessing at first they will introduce a colour change , don’t know if making an S will be something they would do anytime soon but you can never tell tbh, may make it too close to the price of the V4?? Would be nice though 😎
But on our standard V4 track bike we just had Ohlins internals put in the Showa forks and put an Ohlins rear shock on it.. so it could be upgraded to Ohlins :)
Yeah unfortunately it’s been like that for the last year or so on all bikes (cars, wood, everything really) with what’s been going on in the world , just depends on when you ordered the bike etc… some bikes have had so many orders some peoples have already got like September /October builds as all the allocations have been sold, actually that’s what I said in the video, if you want one for this year then order now , otherwise people are gonna get to the summer and think oh il get one and it’s gonna be next year
I don’t think it is faster on those road as my monster 937 , on a track oké, but i don’t do trackdays , till 8000 revs a monster has more torque and hp
The V2 is definitely faster then the Monster , wether people ride faster on certain roads is a different matter , it’s a totally different engine and delivers the power different, I love the Monster but this is different and faster.. in these sort of conditions everything is even anyway :)
Ha I was off with covid for the unboxing of the Pikes peak.. we have one in the shop now that is going to have loads of extras on it .. don’t worry will be a few videos on the Pikes Peak… it is nice though 😎
It is so nice to ride, everyone’s gonna have different opinions on looks of bikes , personally I prefer this , just the way it is when it comes to bikes.. I mean some people prefer Harley’s 😂😂
Die V2 ist seit Gestern da Bin begeistert aber erstmal vorsichtig einfahren sieht toll aus fährt genauso toll

@@ProjectMoto Hero mate :) will keep a look out - thanks for the reply
hi great vid i have a monster 1200r 160bhp have you rode one how does this compare ?
Do you have English subtitles? “Streefaiuaaa”
Good review :)
Well you can turn on subtitles.. but don’t know if that can even translate what I’m saying 😂😂 thanks :)
@@ProjectMoto haha! Cheers
Waiting for the Streetfighter V2S model with electronics and suspension upgrade.
Yeah maybe they will do one, might push the price to close toward the V4 though maybe, possibly it will just be another colour first, if they do have a V2S I don’t think it will be for a while… think they will struggle just to build enough of this one over the next year or so
Another great video as always! What is the difference in engine compared to the Monster? Is it just more HP?
Thanks, the engines are very different , they are both twin cylinder but the monster has belts and the V2 has the Superquadro engine . It has desmodromic valve system , the monster is 937cc and the V2 is 955 but they are so different
Mine is one the way, no deliveries in South Florida yet.
Awesome mate, enjoy it when it arrives , a couple are starting to arrive here in the U.K. so hopefully you don’t have to wait much longer
I hope ducati makes v2 SS and tuned it in low 130hp for less heat and fuel consumption. Great for all around bike
Don’t know if they ever will but would be great , always enjoy riding the SS , it’s such a good road bike
What do you think? Streetfighter v2 or monster 1200r?
Just depends on how u ride really and what you want the bike for , although they are similar Bhp and weight they are very different to ride, also styling is different etc , personally I would have a SF V2… but that’s because of when/where/how I ride .. but only on some days , I like both bikes tbh, lucky for me I don’t have to decide, I think they only way someone could choose is to ride them, everyone likes different things form their bikes
Got a V2 Multi on order thinking of ordering V2 SF to replace my café racer, do 2 V2’s make a V4 though??😂
😂😂.. well I guess so😂 , they are both called the V2 but 2 very different engines, like them both though , enjoy the Multistrada !!
Two v2 will make a w4
Stunning bike. Reasonable price for it as well to be fair. Is that on the road ?
Yeah it’s really is a nice bike and good price for what you get, yes the bike is riding on the road but price is plus on the road charges :)
@@ProjectMoto what’s the lead time on order? I’m in the market for a new bike and genuinely considering this. Cheers mate 👍
@@stephenhendry447 that depends on how many bikes the dealer has sold on their allocation and then how many people they have waiting, and it pretty much changes daily , I will find out on Monday when I go to the shop what it is right now
Love the sound. Be nice if they made a bigger motor to compete with the Ktm 1290r.
Yeah really sounds good, they have the V4 for that
@@ProjectMoto Not a v-twin. I own a Ktm 1290r and my friend owns the Tuono v4. Big difference in low end grunt.
@@RobertKehl oh yeah not a bigger v-twin , but the V4 is the KTM competitor in the super naked class , big twins are great for low down grind for sure
I am one for people to learn motorcycling by going through the different the different engine sizes and building up to higher BHP.. if you are already thinking or worried about it then maybe not, personally I think the Monster is a fantastic bike for all levels of riders and probably, for me anyway, more comfortable, only you can decide what you like and want from a bike
it is hard to choose sfv4sp or sf v2…
one is to o much for me in road but beautiful
another one is useable but less beautiful..
Yeah and they are 2 very different bikes to use on the road as you say.. unfortunately only you can make that decision my friend .. both awesome Motorcycles though 😎
How is the reliability on this one ?
Compared to what? It’s the same engine as the Panigale V2 so will be brilliant as usual I guess, it’s only just been released but I see no reason for it to have any problems, they are reliable
Sounds so Disappointing but looks beautiful! Great video !
Personally I really like it ,it’s a great twin cylinder engine.. but everyone likes different sounding bikes and exhaust , and thanks, appreciate it :)
Sounds very very promising…
Yeah definitely, is a lot easier to use as a road bike then the V4 , and has that extra punch then the Monster, awesome bike even in these conditions 😎
How is the stock exhaust sound?
Yeah sounds good, this has a stock exhaust in the video, but exhaust sounds are personal to people what they like tbh, sounds good when your riding on the throttle:)
Does anyone know if they are planning a Streetfighter V2S with the Ohlins goodies?
I’ve not heard anything, I’m guessing at first they will introduce a colour change , don’t know if making an S will be something they would do anytime soon but you can never tell tbh, may make it too close to the price of the V4?? Would be nice though 😎
But on our standard V4 track bike we just had Ohlins internals put in the Showa forks and put an Ohlins rear shock on it.. so it could be upgraded to Ohlins :)
quite annoying how mine is not coming till july 😞
Yeah unfortunately it’s been like that for the last year or so on all bikes (cars, wood, everything really) with what’s been going on in the world , just depends on when you ordered the bike etc… some bikes have had so many orders some peoples have already got like September /October builds as all the allocations have been sold, actually that’s what I said in the video, if you want one for this year then order now , otherwise people are gonna get to the summer and think oh il get one and it’s gonna be next year
yeah me too
ProjectMoto Agreed btw thanks for the no bullshit review. Pretty straight to the point i liked it!
Out or out out?
Always out out
@@ProjectMoto 🤣
WHERE IS THE PIKES PEAK VIDEO 😫😫
Ha I was off with covid for the unboxing of the Pikes peak.. we have one in the shop now that is going to have loads of extras on it .. don’t worry will be a few videos on the Pikes Peak… it is nice though 😎
I love how the exhaust note hardens up when you give it a bit. I better not get this bike.
Yeah they sound awesome when your on the throttle and get to mid revs and above … it does get a little addictive though :)
I've got a feeling this thing is going to tear a massive hole in my wallet some time soon
Don’t worry I’m sure there’s a few people felling the same, 😂
Nice
Yeah , great bike :)
I'm sure it's a superb machine but for me, Ducati have lost the plot on looks since the 797. It's hardly naked. All that messy plastic.
It is so nice to ride, everyone’s gonna have different opinions on looks of bikes , personally I prefer this , just the way it is when it comes to bikes.. I mean some people prefer Harley’s 😂😂
So if I were a bike I’d be a vintage 😩 ?? Hope u all well 😘
Don’t worry I think most of us would be Vintage… but Paul’s a veteran 😂😂 yeah we’re all good girl , thanks 😊 how are you getting on in isolation??
@@ProjectMoto haha , bless him. So bored 😩 I’ll pop down in a couple of weeks and can u take me out for ride ?? X
@@hxtiger47 yeah of course come down whenever u want , be good to see ya :)
@@ProjectMoto I’m out of quarantine this week so may come up Saturday xx
