I'm always suspicious of lists that are all suburbs of the same few metros but not amazing unique communities like Wilmington, Asheville, and Boone. It's a good video. It's just that there are more things that define a great place to live than household income, median home prices, etc.
I Agree!!! Winston Salem And Boone should have been on that list!!! I Love Wilmington, NC, too.
Yeah, I didn’t even know you could count suburbs as cities. Idk if I’d personally count any of the places on this list as cities.

Love these videos. We all appreciate good quality info like this. Lived in Garner for 3 years, and now been in Morrisville for the last 3+ years. Probably will settle in Apex/Morrisville area East of the 55 Hwy. It has been the most amazing experience living in NC these last several years. Keep up the great work.

When I was in high school I moved from Pennsylvania down to Brunswick County Oak Island Southport area. When I graduated I lived in Wilmington North Carolina specifically the downtown area and lived in two really nice apartments while in college. I’ve actually worked downtown Wilmington waitressing and bartending for many many years. I ended up moving out to California for a little while and lived in Las Vegas when I was younger and married. I eventually relocated to Wilmington lived there for nine years got tired of all the traffic and the tourist moving in, and I eventually bought a house in Jacksonville North Carolina where I reside now. It’s a great small town for children everything is close even though it’s a military town I’m 10 minutes from the grocery store 10 minutes from my job close to all the beaches within a 30 minute drive close to Wilmington where all my old friends live and where my parents live in Brunswick County. It’s also very very cheap to live here. I bought my house prior to hurricane Florence for $102,000. Taxes outside city limits is under $800 a year. My house is completely paid off three bedrooms two baths house has a fenced in yard with a garage very modest and my children can ride the school bus and come right off the bus in a very safe neighborhood off of a cul-de-sac. It’s a great little town to raise children everything is close for young families.

We moved from NY a year ago to Clayton MC, super cute , SUPER crowded, I’d def recommend not moving to Johnston county unless you like traffic & constant construction. If you want quiet go east.

these are suburbs of larger towns which require higher incomes. Frankly I'd prefer to hear about 10 best cities that can stand on their own. Clemmons is a suburb or Winston and mostly has golfing communities. How about something for the average person?

Spoken like someone who lives and works in and around Raleigh/Durham! Obviously, you've not moved out of your comfort zone and seen more of NC than just the suburbs of major cities. The one place that is truly loved by those who visit and those lucky enough to live there is Whispering Pines.

Living in Cary with 100k house income? That's BS, c''mon...
Renting a decent townhouse for less than 2k is a challenge over there.
Plenty of people are living in the Cary area on 100K household incomes

Winston Salem is considered statistically one of the top 10 crime ridden places in NC. No thanks.
To me it would be better and cheaper to live in Harnett or Lee County and also that would give you an option to work in either the Triangle or Fort Bragg/ Fayetteville areas.

Lake norman, nascar, still affordable with waterfront options great golf. Better schools. You seem very bias toward the triangle. You had Davidson which is most unaffordable place on lake norman 🤔.

I’ve heard Asheville is beautiful, however, I have been reading about increase in homelessness in town along with it being very expensive (the two very things I am trying to escape living outside of the Seattle area) therefore I’ve taken it off my list of options.

Funny you keep calling Chapel Hill part of the Durham county when it's own county called Orange as I live in this county..
No one ever said Chapel Hill is part of Durham county in this video. Chapel Hill is part of the Chapel Hill-Durham metro area. Two completely different things.
Reidsville is reasonable priced and still small town. It is growing and home prices and taxes are low! I lived in Burlington 12 years but moved back to Reidsville. Originally from New Bern! That's expensive!
