Hi,
In today's episode, I will unpack and show you the second key tool for the videographer's work when recording real estate, i.e. a fully professional gimbal from DJI, the DJI RS3 PRO - combo package.

Hi Phil, Thanks a lot for this informative video -- I really liked the closeup shots of the gimbal so I could see the build quality. At this point, I am not sure whether it is best to keep my Zhiyun Crane 2 for the next few years or upgrade to the RS3 Pro. I have had the Zhiyun Crane 2 since 2018 and have been using it to make walking videos -- feel free to check them out on my channel. It is calibrated nicely to compensate for sudden turn movements (good amount of deadband). Though the micro jitters and z axis bounce movement can bother me sometimes -- especially on intense hikes.
I am wondering in your opinion whether it is worth it to upgrade from the Zhiyun Crane 2 to the DJI RS3 Pro?
Hey. Thank for watching and your comment. I’ll check your videos first and will get back to you with my opinion (I have one already without watching as I’ve had a ZC2 so I’m familiar with the gimbal).😊
You have quite a few videos :)
Short story. I’ve bought the DJI RS3 Pro Combo as I had the Zhiyun Crane 2 for a year (it belongs to my friend but he wasn’t using it) so I’ve worked on my gimbal skills with it.
Couple of points after that year:
1) payload wasn’t enough, in theory it was fine for my setup but it often dropped the stabilisation all together, bouncing was an issue as well
2) painful software and updates
3) cables weren’t compatible with my camera
DJI announcement was on time - I bought the RS3 Pro and gave back the Zhiyun.
After using the RS3 Pro for couple of months now I can tell it is more intuitive to operate. Has more built in features which I use often and the combo package give me Raveneye image transmission system - life saver for me. No issues with weight, no issues with balancing, no issues with connecting camera to gimbal via bluetooth or cables.
The easy lock and unlock system is a game changer, saves a lot of hassle and nothing is flying around.
Conclusion. If the Zhiyun Crane 2 works for you then I don’t know if it’s worth changing. However if you have a chance to rent the DJI RS3 Pro for a day or two or even try in store if you have an option then I would do it without any hesitation. I’m pretty sure you will feel the difference.
I use my RS3 Pro for real estate and other projects. Done one property with ZC2 and I had enough 🤣.
Well, that was a long reply ☺️👍🏻👍🏻
Let me know what you’re planning now :)
@@BigPhilOnline Thank you so much.
Do you think the deadband problem on the RS3 will ever be fixed? I need a lot of deadband because I naturally twitch my hands while walking in my videos.
For my videos, although the Crane 2 is pretty outdated, it still does an excellent job at absorbing my hand twitches with its deadband forgiveness. The main thing that bothers me with the Crane 2 is that it still has micro jitter isssues -- it would be the perfect gimbal for me if it was more smooth and somehow absorbed the Z-Axis movement (aka bounces).
I am worried even though the RS3 is much more technologically advaned, it will be a step back with regards to raw stabilization performance and deadband like I mentioned above.
@@VeeTravels in my workflow I don’t have any issues with deadband but it might be because I move quite slowly 🤣🤣 will have to try it and go back to base settings as I work on individual settings. Interesting issue, will have to dive deeper into it.
The only solution I see is if you could “test drive” the RS3 or RS3 Pro.
That would be a pain if you would buy it for x amount of money and then have that problem. What about the new Zhiyun (can’t remember the model - the one with wrist support)?
Hi Phill, i gotta question. Can gimbal run during charging?
Hey, great question. Don’t know, but I will check and will let you know. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers
Hi, I use ronin s gimbal, i noticed that the spring inside the battery hole where you tight the tripod fell off. As a result, the tripod can't fit in inside battery. Please what can i do?
Hi, do you mean the screw thread fell off? If yes, the best option would be to ask DJI support for advice. As. DIY method maybe some decent glue can sort it out?
can I charge the ronin rs3 battery without the battery attached to the gimbal?
When not connected to the gimbal, I charge all battery grips. However, you can also charge them when everything is put together.
@@BigPhilOnline thanks ☺️
