now there are people who say/theorize that in reality that image of Luz possessed by Collector is actually her disguised and pretending to be Collector to convince the titan hunters to help her fight against Belos...
Luz: I'm your god the Collector and I'm back! titan hunters: seriously? test it! Luz: eh...okay...I'm the Collector and I hate titans! titan hunters: it's him! our god has returned! Luz: that's right! and as your god I... (she stumbles and falls because she stepping on her painted cape)
I found this episode to be just as shocking as Hollow Mind, i felt really bad for King just when it seemed like he finally found others like him they all turned out to be a witch cult that worships the Collector and that made me feel even more bad for King because it proves that he really is the last of his kind but it was awesome to learn that king is actually a titan. and as for the ending all i can say is hopefully Eda and Lilith don't get captured otherwise Belos will most likely just use them as bait for a trap.
Those witches have never killed Titan; as they said themselves, they're Titan Trappers, not Titan Slayers. I have different theory about the skulls though: Titan's skull can be easily replaced and discarded, so all those skulls we've seen on the Trapper island are just discarded skulls.
This episode really showed how much Eda has grown. You’d expect her to be cracking jokes and not worrying despite the dire circumstances, but she was by far the most mature in the beginning of this episode! Luz and King are *her* kids, and now that she has them, she has something to fight for. That scene where she was crying, acknowledging how unfair it is that literal children had to be wrapped up in this, really got to me because it felt so raw and real…it reminded me of my mom crying about things. Wendie Malick outdid herself here.
@@CamdenKaneakaNeptunesdaughter maybe, although honestly, I’d like it if there were consequences for Hooty not being there, and they got captured because of it. It would show that now they value Hooty and need his help, which would be great development.
something that people have missed is that the portal that is created to move them from island to island is colored and animated the same way King's power cry is.
I’m hyped for not just this but also Amphibia’s finales. Dana Terrace and Matt Braly are so talented and I’m excited to watch whatever they have in store.
There's something I've been thinking about recently in regards to Titans: why has there been so much focus on Titan's Blood, but no mention of Titan's Bile? Bile is what witches and demons alike draw their magic from, after all. Then it hit me; those aren't two separate things. When 'Agony of a Witch' came out and we saw Belos' throne room, I remember there being some debate about what the organ suspended above the throne was, since it looked like a heart but was colored like a bile sac. It's both. Titan's didn't have separate organs for bile and blood, the two fluids were mixed together within them. That's why there's such potent magic inherent in their blood, and why the inner walls of their veins deflect magic (their veins had evolved to channel and contain it).
On a somewhat related note, King being a Titan means his powers are essentially a form of primordial magic; his abilities might be way more versatile than we initially thought.
Oh no what if the possessed Luz or whoever was a misdirect and, via the connection with King that has yet to be broken, The Collector will possess King, given what you said about King soundinglike Bill and The Collector acting like him! When The Collector was reciting his poem in Hollow Mind, he formed the sihlouette of the Boiling Isles Titan roaring (or actually "Wah" ing) like King and blowing every witch silhouette away with sonic sound waves and then shrinking the Titan skull until it was small and held in his hand. The Collector already knew a young Titan still existed. "The Grand Huntsman says one Titan still remains." "The Grand Huntsman wants us to find the last one so he can be freed." The Titan Trapper ritual forged a connection to King since his eyes did that glow thing and he heard a laugh no one else did and so The Collector now knows who and where the last Titan is, and possibly has access to his mind now. Maybe The Collector will be freed by King's Titan blood on The Day of Unity and possess King, do some ritual to Titan size him by draining the magick from every witch on The Boiling Isles, and destroy The Boiling Isles with his Titan powers.
That episode is a lot to take in! Just like the episode, “Hollow Mind”. I’m happy when King finds his people and hometown. But, it turns out the townpeople are bad and wearing titan costumes and worship THE COLLECTOR. I refuse at first that King is a Titan. But, the truth is right there. I think King’s father passes away🪦 By the way, what does The Collector collect?
Rare and powerful entities either to grow their power from the creatures or to dominate and capture or kill them in order to prove superiority and their strength. Its possible that they tried to capture or trap kings father like they did the owl beast or even to absorb their power like the titans blood ability to bridge worlds and instead killed the titan and trapped themselves beneath the titans bones and thats why they want to perform a ritual and kill king to give the Collector a new body and in the body of a titan theyd be super powerful
I think The Collector collects souls because, well, The Collector did say that it wanted to see the whole world go "AHHHHHHH!", as in it wanted to see the whole world *DIE* so...
The realization from King that he has “potentially” been living on his *dad* for years is traumatizing (Luz and King are going THROUGH IT). Also, can someone explain the link that King has with the Collector? Like I get it, but I need more of an understanding…?🤔
He was saying that there might still be a connection between the Collector and King because when King lit the tablet on fire he heard the collectors laugh in is head. So the collector might still have that connection because it looks like the connection was not broken when Luz saved King from being stabbed. So potentially in future episodes the collector might speak to King in his head. hope this helps :D
In one of the earlier episodes Gus is seen with a checklist most of the things are pretty useless except for the mission of digging a tunnel under hexside which could be used in labyrinth runners
A realization. "A deep roar." / meaning "Son" "Then something happened. But I was too small to do anything." - perhaps King's father dying or in the process of losing King's egg. I'm getting a feeling that Titan baby incubation is exceedingly long if King's dad is the Boiling Isles very own Titan. It's possible the Titan or Titan worshippers were the ones to build King and Jean-Luc's palace. As the fact Tarak didn't know what King's medal meant implies it is NOT a Titan Hunter structure.
I think King's Dad (the original Titan) might be still around in some way. His spirit could have been communicating with Luz when he shows her the Glyphs so she can learn to use magic.
This is my theory for “The Collector”. He’s a ancient evil of the Demon Realm, and a enemy of the Titans from when they ruled. My theory is that they were at war and it ended in a kind of mutual destruction, were the Titans where reduced to the dead bodies that make up the modern day biomes of the Demon Realm, and the collector was trapped in the in-between dimension. The collector has since used trickery to get himself to be worshipped by the life forms that sprung from the remains of his enemies. My theory is also that multiple moon disks where created, and Belos just found the one on the Boiling Isles. Since it was apparently in “Sacred Ground” in the skull before Belos found it. The collector wants to be free, and reck havoc again. (Maybe even on Earth). Because it would definitely fit that Philip’s plan to “save Humanity from evil” was actually highjacked why a magically entity who wanted to bring that evil to Earth. It would be the best kind of irony to end his story. A few smaller thoughts on the collector. I hope Luz will be able to keep the color scheme she’ll apparently get from the collector. And my last theory is that “The Collector” is just what ancient residents of the Boiling Isles called him; like how the Titan Trapper call him “The Grand Huntsman”. I think his real name is something like “Eclipseus”, or reasons I think are obvious.
I like to think of Luz's misrememberings as a mix of her wild imagination plus maybe some anxiety or something in there too. It feels a little too intentional when it's "promise you'll stay here, I didn't mean to push you away" when her mom asks her to stay vs Luz recounting it as "Promise me you'll stay here and never go back to that place" showing her fear of having to choose between her family on Earth and her family on the Boiling Isles and then the Collector going from playful rhyme wanting to "paint the land in 9 bright hues"(still carrying their sinister intentions but overall just being a goofy goober) vs Luz recounting it as "curse the land in 9 bright hues". I mean if the team worked together to make sure there was a full secret message included in the show spread throughout each episode I'm sure they would've probably thought about playing off Luz's memories. I could even see them playing with how stark the difference is, with Camila's words being twisted to mean about the same thing but with different tone while the Collector is just straight up saying their genocidal fancies aloud, as being indicative of Luz's trauma in Belos's mind and potentially leading up to her beginning to crack which would allow for either the Collector to take advantage of her for whatever he has planned or to just give Belos an opportunity to strike against her in their probable final fight.
I like the parallels between luz and belos because Luz's first glyph was the light glyph and she discovered it with King right next to her who we now know is a Titan, but the light glyph was his last glyph that he was only given because of Luz. It's just a nice connection that in order to be complete with natural magic that's connected to the Titans you needed a Titan.
It’s possible, but given the age of the boiling isles, it’s more likely that king is just a smaller descendant of the original titans. But who knows how long titans can live when they aren’t trapped and murdered by a cult.
My guess based on the boiling isles titan and the titan skulls worn by the collector cult is that titans simply never stop growing. So very few titans get as big as the one on the boiling isles, but if nothing causes them to die, its possible
@@pocketsoup8338 I just imagined king being so big at very old age that he would literally sit at the deepest point of the ocean and still be mostly dry
I've actually come up with a pretty lengthy theory on what may happen later with Eda and Luz's dynamic. So, this episode very deliberately shows that Eda is (pretty reasonably) concerned about Luz's physical and mental well-being. That she continues to needlessly beat herself up, thinking everything that goes wrong is more her fault than it actually is. Meanwhile, Luz is now more focused than ever on helping save the Boiling Isles, not just to atone for her guilt but to protect everyone she dearly cares about. So now that we know that King is a Titan (and therefore has Titan's Blood), I'm suspecting that in the final arc of the season, Eda will use this to try and get Luz to the human realm as soon as she can for her own safety. Luz undoubtedly wants to get back home, but will be reluctant to do so right away because everyone's in danger. Maybe by "Clouds On the Horizon" (the penultimate ep of the season), this actually would lead to her - and possibly King, given the Emperor's Coven would be searching for him - being back in the human realm and finally make things right with Camila. She then talks to her about all that's about to happen, and they have a big discussion about what she must do. Luz is scared about being a hero, thinking maybe Eda was right all along. But Camila is ultimately the one that encourages her to step back up and make things right, if she knows what's best for everyone. You can even directly connect Vee's draining to this, as they could use her knowledge to help devise a solution to help stop the spell on the Day of Unity. And this would also be the perfect space for Luz to finally decide what she wants to be and carve her palisman. I'm sure this is partially stretching, especially given it's virtually impossible to tell what "Clouds on the Horizon" might be about, but I think this would be an interesting direction to take and would make sense given all we have. What do you think?
On the poster in Bill’s chamber for “The Lost Son” it says how it can only be found be someone who is worthy, and Eda stumbled across the island while fleeing with no knowledge, and only she and King can go to the Islands, so I think she is somehow “chosen” to find king? Also the tower King was in us completely adorned with celestial symbology, so the connection to the Collector goes all the way back to that episode maybe? Until we know why or who built the tower or the true connection between Collector and Titan.
9:55 People may have already said this, but I think the last Titan is one of King's parents, not King himself. King hatched from an egg, was protected in that temple alone by Jean Luc and then kidnapped/adopted by Eda. Bill said he SAW the Last Titan before it disappeared and it's "hateful roar" blew out his eardrums. How was he gonna see and hear a tiny baby still inside an egg? How would that egg escape? However, remember when King was in his egg there was a loud roar before he went back to sleep, only to hatch an unknown amount of time later? "I remember a deep roar... and then something happened! But I was too small to do anything! So I went back to sleep..." That WAS his parent escaping. Because when he comes out of the flashback he says, "That roar... it meant "son"! I don't know how I know that, but I do." Also, as an aside, the Boiling Isles Titan REALLY doesn't look like King. King's skull looks like a canid skull. The titan looks like a humanoid skull. And we've seen that there are ones with more crocodillian skulls. Different species of titan, all of them massive. Like the Subnautica leviathans.
@@tsuyuasui7297 Unlikely, considering the murals of the Titan Catchers depict them with their titan pup skulls killing giant titans with the same, elongated, canid, non-humanoid skull. Those depictions match the giant titan in the mural where King was found (his father), which also match the mural he imagined in episode one where he wanted to get his crown back. All possessing elongated canid-like skulls.
I keep thinking about belos’s motives. Every time he allows Luz to get away or to witness some thing are leaving her clues. It’s like he’s laying out a trail of Bread crumbs and she’s yet to leave the palm of his hands. He truly scares me because for once it feels like he truly does have every little thing planned out. That huge plot twist where it’s revealed that he remembers her from his past. I know our heroes will prevail in the end but I hope no one’s lost as the collateral. They’re going to really have to think outside of the box for this one. Everything noceda has done so has he. But one of the big differences I always think about is that Magic presents itself to her while it hides away and rejects his advances. Almost like it knows he’s a witch Hunter. He has to lie steal kill manipulate to get what he wants.
The Owl House has been so meticulous with details, even down to having Raine whistle in Follies, that I refuse to believe that is a production error. There is no way they aren't intentionally making Luz remember things differently for a reason. At least in my mind. Because with all the small little details that they have made sure to include and all the foreshadowing trails they paved that would be such a stupid mistake to have left in.
Considering Luz has changed her memories more than once to reflect what she wants to remember, such as Camilla's farewell, this doesn't really bother me and it goes to show that Luz doesn't have the most reliable memory. Maybe this is due to an accident, her mind being mixed up due to the death of her father, or general forgetfulness/selfishness?
@@captaincaspian42 Or maybe that's just how she remembers that? I mean, this is common in real life. We all remember things differently for varying reasons, such as bad memory, our perception of the events, etc.
Only just noticed the knife is the same one Phillip used to kill his brother. Kinda gave me the wild idea he killed his brother potentially for more than loving a witch. Bill in this episode thought he was going to get power from the Collector if he’d succeed in killing King. King had a moon symbol (not moon and sun) and “the connection” was made to the Collector using an identical blue talisman to the one that Phillip was seen with. Maybe he had to sacrifice a human to obtain his connection to the Collector, but the Collector needs two different sacrifices (a Titan 🌙 and a human☀️) to actually obtain his true form or to fulfil his ultimate goal? The episode before this went to a LOT of effort to show the knife Phillip used multiple times up close in the framed memories, so I feel like Bill using the same knife isn’t a random coincidence… 🤔
I think it was King's dad that Bill encountered years ago. Not King himself. Bill describes the roar blew out his eardrums before disappearing. King has only recently learned how to use his power. And I still feel like The Boiling Isles' Titan isn't his father.
This episode was insane and with the knowledge of the Titan Trappers, it makes King’s birth tower have a whole new meaning. The murals on the walls not depicting King’s race as mighty warriors but instead showing the slaughter and destruction of King’s race. Also Anne and Sasha’s swords appeared in the weapons room that King and Tarruk walk into so that was a fun Easter egg.
My favourite parts of the episode. Eda’s breakdown over her kids, a breakdown she wouldn’t have in front of them. King referring to Luz as his sister. King telling Luz “I want to go home”.
I hope king's blood will be use for the door and to see luz teaming with amity, gus, willow and hunter to stop the day of unity is going to be a great season 2 finale!
I was talking to a friend and they mentioned that the detail of misremembering and making it worse is actually a trauma response commonly seen in children. (Another reminder that she is a traumatized child) Which I didn't know that much, but it seems a little more realistic than just different takes from production seeing as how Dana and crew are very particular with details in the show.
@@leonishikino6873 Well, we love fiction not because the world is realistic, but because their characters are and think it is intereting to see realistic reactions to unrealisting things
@@leonishikino6873 Fantasy shows still have different levels of realism depending on the universe. In the MCU for example it wouldn't be realistic for Thor to eat suns. In the owl its realistic for Luz, a human girl, to have human reactions to trauma.
I realized that most of the stuff that is collector related at Titian trapper island is a sun but if you look at hollow mind the collectors head is more moon shaped I dont know what that means but I found it interesting
It might mean that when he has his physical form, he is in the sunlight. But because he is trapped in this 2-D like realm, he is in the moonlight sort of deal.
I think the line changes are absolutely Luz’s dramatization in her memory, she’s very excitable and is a huge fan of dramatic and fantastical stories. Also, as a kid, its easy to fall into the drama of a thing while ignoring the reality of it. Also, no one talks about how Bill was pretty much confirmed to be the Trapper on the mural in King’s Castle
The only issue I have with King being confirmed to be a titan isn’t with King, rather with the titan that became the Boiling Isles. The reason I never believed or considered King to be a titan was because the only one we saw had a humanoid face. Sure it has horns, but the skeletal structure of the nose doesn’t fit. The dead titan has a humanoid nose with the shape of an upside down heart, while King and the skulls we see see in this episode have snouts, which are longer, have more pronounced canines and a heart shape that is right side up, as one would see in e.g. dogs. I know making the titan‘s skull consistent with King‘s would have been a dead giveaway as to who he is, but at the same time I feel slightly cheated. I would have enjoyed this reveal much more if the Titan Trappers would have worn skulls from different species, such as birds or humanoids, indicating that the titans, too, had multiple subspecies. It would have made the reveal more believable to me. That’s all just my opinion tho. I still like the reveal, but for a show that has been this consistent it just feels weird. TL;DR: King and the other titans have skulls that resemble dogs, while the titan of the Boiling Isles has a humanoid skull, as seen by the length and shape of the nose and the teeth
@@Aisha_Luv They undoubtedly were. There is no way something as big as a grown titan could be killed by a bunch of little lunatics, let alone the entire titan race. Babies are easy targets and fun fashion accessories!
What if different classes/forms of magic have specific effects on Titans since they seem to house a huge amount of magic in their bodies? So if king were to try/be exposed to magic different then “wild” magic then maybe he might exhibit other traits?
Probably there were few kinds of titans one more humanoid other more canine like and one with more horse like head but just canine like titans were the most common and had the most comfortable skulls to wear That or cultist knew what was the last kind of titan so they purposfully wore those skulls to look like the last titan who probably doesn't know who he is as he is well.....the last of it's kind
Well, not all dogs have long snouts. The Boiling Isles might have been pug based, or pekinese or bulldog. There are many variation options but sadly with things shortened I doubt we get to have answers to that.
My theory for what might happen in the Season 2 Finale "King's Tide", in order to save King from being sacrificed to the Collector, Luz ends up sacrificing herself in his place, resulting her being possessed/merged with the Collector.
@@victorhernandez8723 I hope it does. She'd finally have consequences for her actions. She'd ACTUALLY have to overcome something for once instead of just being a generic MC.
Been watching episode breakdowns here and there since SU era. Thanks to Vox & everyone at Roundtable vids for their excellent analysis, energy, and content!
I personally don’t think luz changing the collectors rhyme is a mistake. Here’s my idea: So The last time luz changed what a person said in her memory was with her mom. There she changed her mother message from “stay with me” to “don’t go back to the boiling isles.” But Camila never said she couldn’t go back. This change causes luz to act out, keep things from Amity and as we later saw made King act out as he tries to prepare for a world without Luz in it. The change in the memory had a reaction to it. I believe the same will happen with the collector. I think the collected is a kid. Originally his rhymes seem to point to the idea of them wanting to play, rather than destroy. They sound like a kid that doesn’t fully understand how their action and selfishness hurt others. I personally think they don’t understand how the day of unity is going to hurt all the witches, even though the story seems to be pointing to them being evil. If the owl house is good at anything it’s paying attention to detail and making you think something is one way when really it’s another, just look at the latest episode with king and the titan trappers. Luz’s memory has changed the collectors motivations from wanting to play to wanting to destroy and I think like with the memory of her mother this is going to change how Luz and other characters act.
I agree that it’s intentional. This isn’t the kind of thing that I think would get messed up. There is probably someone who checks scripts for consistency who would have caught this. Also because this show is aired serially even if the episodes were completed in non serial order I don’t think it would be difficult to insert the portion from the earlier episode later if it was a mistake. Luz is definitely misremembering/reinterpreting what actually happened and I think it’s a really cool detail.
A different form, a different time new form means newly created and the collector has the same general craziness and personality of bill AND the show is made by basically the same people that made Gravity Falls so yea the collector is a child version of Bill Cipher But that's just a theory
I think in the next episode "Labyrinth Runners", Luz, King, and Hooty return to the Owl House just as its being raided by the Emperor's Coven, only to be rescued by Raine Whispers, Darius, and Eberwolf and taking them somewhere safe.
Now I'm decently new to Owl House but I have an idea that Titans can size shift, Like how Eda goes from regular to Harpy Mode, now I saw this mostly cause of the size of Kings Castle, I mean that Castle is wayyyy to Small for a full grown Titan, now I'm probably wrong but I don't know maybe I'm right
The Boiling Isles Titan being King's dad adds another layer of tragedy to King's scene in 'Knock, Knock, Knockin on Hootie's Door'. King was so angry and distraught thinking that his dad had abandoned him, all the while he could not have been physically closer; he was literally right under King's nose almost his entire life. The only way for that scene to be even more heartbreaking in hindsight would be if the Titan's spirit truly is lingering around the Isles, because then the Titan would have been forced to watch without being able to do anything to comfort the son he likely died trying to protect.
I think Luz remembering things wrong is going to play a MUCH bigger part in the story line. Dana doesn’t seem to be the type of writer to just throw things in and just say whatever. She plans EVERYTHING.
@@leonishikino6873 I am giving her the credit she deserves. Belos being Phillip was foreshadowed in EPISODE 1. The barrier Luz has to break through and only she can do it cause she’s a human? Sounds a bit suspicious if you ask me, especially because they were in an EMPEROR’S COVEN BUILDING.
@@leonishikino6873 plays it safe?! It has traumatized almost every one of its main characters! And yes, it does foreshadow. I can’t list all of the one here because there are so many, but one of the main examples is the Grimwalker page in Belos’s diary.
I love her to our house doesn’t just wait till the end of seasons to give you these jaw-dropping twists. It’s clear that so much was plan ahead. I love it when shows give you so much rewatch value by setting things up right in front of your eyes. It’s the type of how to give you five twists in one episode.
I'm so hyped up for the next episode! I will say I think there was a another clue to King being a titan in in the beginning of season 2. In 'Knock, Knock, on Hooty's door' when Hooty drew some blood from King to help figure out what demon he was and comparing it to the titans blood from the door key(can't remember the episode name at this moment) they did look very similar.
I think King is immune to the boiling water in the boiling isles! One of the trappers falls in the pond while wearing titan fur! It also makes sense because they’re giant beings that essentially walk on a planet that’s all boiling ocean
Something I've noticed NO ONE talking about: how the beam from the teleportaion spell was the same color as King's yell. Question that comes from this: could the bones of the titan be used for spell/power purposes and could King's blood be used as Titan's blood for a possible portal?
Dana. You are a genius. This show has many more twists than a Hispanic telenovela. Love how you added details hidden in plain sight. You need to open up shop at cartoon network and adult swim to get the freedom to create an elaborate show. Heck family guy, American dad, cleveland show, boondocks, venture bros have more controversial content but have all the freedom they want to shine.
I think since Eda and Lilith are surrounded and have to fight for their lives, this would mean Harpy Eda returns and maybe Lilith will reveal Harpy Lilith? 😳🧐
I kind of have to disagree that the reveal about the titan hunters was any less obvious than the Belos reveals. There was definitely something up with the titan hunter village from the get go. It was too good to be true, I guess, and I thought it was very clear that it would be the opposite of what King and Luz thought (but executed very well, don't get me wrong).
It was never supposed to be a grand reveal that they were Titan trappers but merely a misunderstanding and coincidence. The video king sent was noticed by clan member thinking he was a child from his own clan thinking he was wearing a disguise, everything they said to Luz and king was honest truth and the clan was willing to fight against belos not knowing the collector is an accomplice of his but king, Luz, Hooty took everything they said out of context ("he passed down that handsome skull of yours" was being literal but it taken as a hereditary metaphor). The whole tribe didn't even know king was a Titan themselves (thinking kings appearance as a convincing costume similar to what they wore) until bill put the pieces together and figured everything out. Heck I'm surprised Luz didn't figure it out sooner since the collectors artwork was all over the architecture.
@@sebastiengendron6427 I fully get that, but the video compared it to the Belos reveal and seemed to be saying that the titan trappers plot twist was much less obvious than that. I'm not saying it was ever meant to be a "grand reveal," I was reacting to the claims in the video.
@@koconnell968 fair enough, am I the only that didn't like the belos face reveal (don't get me wrong it shocked that this "monster" was really an old man) it made the mystery aspect of him less terrifying once the mask was off, despite being an emperor he called himself "a humble messenger of the Titan" which made the idea of he wasn't the big bad but a second hand man of a gigantic monster Luz has been going to school on, sleeping on, and fighting on.
I only just watched the 3 newest episodes and immediately came to youtube after. I'm shaking so much I only just found out King was a titan like 5 minutes ago. This show is insane I can't even think right now
If there’s one thing I can say I’m happy about regarding Edge of the World is we avoided having another “how come he don’t want me, man?...” moment for King. Eh, something something something “it still hurts but less” I guess. Excelsi-whatever.
I think I've already worked out a few things about the next episode. 1: The owl house will be taken over by the scouts while Eda and Lillith flee to they're childhood home since Gwen can help defend them. 2: King is gonna have a hard time accepting the truth and runs away which leads to "O Titan, Where Art Thou" where king comes to terms with the truth. 3: Luz and Hooty will likely head to see Amity to make sure she's safe which could add Odalia back and I wouldn't be surprised if Alador stands up for Amity. 4: The scouts will likely be at Hexside looking for Luz but Gus will be fighting back with Hunter/Caleb since they're both against the Emperors coven and both are becoming closer to Luz. :)
First off Luz has really improve on her art work 👍and I’m wondering if King can open portals 🤔🤔🤔on his own since it’s own blood that Luz and Belos use it 😅😅😅
I actually really like the thought that Luz misremembers lines based on how she internalizes them. That’s such a realistic portrayal of what happens in real life.
idk if anyone else has said this but I feel like with knowing he's a titan he might offer his blood if luz were to need it since it seems like the used the last of it in ep 16 (?)
I think the show’s crew decided to use alternate lines as a way to display Luz not remembering correctly because she’s a kid and kids don’t remember everything exactly how it was originally.
I was kind of hoping that after that Oscar worthy episode of hollow mind that they would follow it up with some thing at least half as good. They outdid my expectations
Is anyone else concerned that the coven scouts will find the picture frame of Luz and her mother when they search the (likely already abandoned) Owl House, giving Belos the idea to kidnap Camila and use her as bait to lure Luz into another trap? He has a working portal door now and it sounds like just the kind of underhanded tactic he would do. 😬
That is The Collector disk the one Philip dug up in Season 2, Episode 12: Elsewhere and Elsewhen Philip must have broken the disk to free The Collector.
the magic used to teleport them to the other side of the world is the exact same style as titan magic king uses when he screams; the color aligns up so either way its titan magic being used since some still lingers in the corpse
I don't know why but i'm really invested on my theory that the "9 bright hues" the collector is talking about has a connection to king's screams, i mean when he screams he let's out colors and maybe the day of unity will be used as a replacement to king's existence. Well idk really if ya'll gonna understand me i just hope my theory is correct to why there are covens
Voice trivia thing was interesting to learn. The shot of Gus blasting other students is the last shot remaining from 2B's trailer, so for the last 3 we'll be going in blind. And the descriptions all those reference the Day of Unity, suggesting both a trilogy for both before and during the event.
Tbh, I think Gus might actually team up with hunter instead of Matholomule, seeing as he goes to a different school, and that hunter and him have met before. It’s been established that Matholomule and Gus are aquatinted at best, maybe even friends. And seeing how Gus is skeptic with hunter after the two previous episodes, it’s more than likely it will be hunter helping him rather than Matholomule. Especially after my bois traumatic reach in Hollowmind. : Saw the promo art, I KNEW IT!
I agree since Hunter will help Gus since he no longer servers Belos anymore since he was being used by him and i still expect that he will join the Owl House gang possibly a main character for the 3rd and POSSIBLE final season just like how Zuko did in the Last Airbender did around a decade ago.
With turning the owl beast into a curse, working with Belos to destroy magic, and encouraging others to wipe out the titans, I have to question what dose the Collector want. What is there endgame?
I think that the unexpected ally in the next episode will be Hunter. It would make sense that he’d turn to an illusionist he knows for shelter as Gus can simply change his appearance with the same kind of magic that Edric and Emira used. Willow would probably already know about Hunter as well, and possibly all of the Emerald Entrails. They are his only friends outside the castle, after all.
considering the fact that the fallen titans are all children i dont find it likely that the titan is kings father, since there are many offspring all wiped out there mustve been more, so that must be his ancestor
So I've been relistening to the sound clips, and I noticed the Roar of the owl beast and the following explosion sounds are similar to what prehatched King hears in the flash back "the roar that meant son" The titan trappers also had wings which could indicate that the owl beast could mate with Titans or began to as the Collector hunted down the two species (it might be that the owl beast is just the female form of a titan, I'm thinking like in dark crystal where female gelflings have wings) this would futher indicate why Eda was able to make it to the island when as Lilith says dosent exist on any map. We see a lot of potential glyphs symbols and mist around the island along with the freak/super short boiling railstorm. As natural traps to ward off others however Eda and the gang when led by King made it no problem. Eda made it due to being the Host of king's bio mom... she was destined to raise King as her son. What do you think?
I dunno, one time I can see it being an old take instead of the one previously done, but now I just think because of the intense emotions of both situations is causing Luz to change the words to be even worse than what was actually said.
the spear gives some stranges reference to the instrumentality project from eva maybe the day of unity is a atempy by the collector to revive the titan and using the body as a vessel esk the third impact from eva "unitying all magic/essence of the titan in one place " having also a side project to get ride of all titans to never get traped again also in the rymes he made on the last ep you can see the titan awaken.... on that note, we might see day of unity getting aborted but the colector resorting to possesses king
Personal dark prediction : King will die or get severely injured in King’s tide, his blood will be used as a portal to free the collector (since it’s blue that’s censorship in itself so Disney could allow it), the collector will possess Luz n s2 will end there…
Luz’s memories being different from what actually happened is definitely intentional and not just a production quirk. Scripts should be meticulously checked by the writers, Dana wouldn’t just let inconsistent dialogue happen for fun
So now we have more titan blood..how lucky?! If you remember, we still have the blood that hooty took from king when they were trying to find what kind of demon he was.
For how Eda and Lilith will escape from the Emperor's coven maybe Luz, Hooty, and King see it when they get back and they fight them, or Raine, Eber, and Darius jump in(Raine might even decide to reveal themselves and their plan seeing even though she's out of it Eda is still being targeted) or Hunter will jump in, or all of them will and it can be revealed the coven heads found him and helped him.
*This TV show does not disappoint, liked the possible guesses and analysis in this video. Can’t help that the recent antagonist has Dimentio or FNAF Daycare Attendant vibes*
I don't see how boiling isles itself can be King's father since it been dead for millions of years and King is only 8 Unless there is some time travling going on were King's egg was laid before the titan died and sent to future for protection Also I have a theory that titans can change sizes and are not always giants and the reason why Boiling Isles is so big is because they were in battle mode fighting an other titan which was most likely the titan King, Luz and Hooty went to on Edge of the World While I do believe King will grow to be very big I don't think he'll grow to be the size of island unless he discovers he has the power to change size.
King being a Titan: either an example of fan theory and speculation were made canon as a way of rewarding fans and carrying interest or: an example of planning ahead and trying to throw fans off the trail after the speculation and theory crafting started so early. I honestly think that its the first but until i know for sure I leave it open
In my personal opinion, I actually hope the Collector to be more of a wild card and not the true all encompassing evil god, having Belos being this all powerfull evil mage emperor from the start and see him become deeper as a character trough the entire series was really refreshing compared to Amphibia or Gravity Falls...
also idk if anyone else noticed but kings power shriek is blue and yellow closely related to the collector so maybe titans and the collector are more bonded that first thought
Now that king has been revealed to be a Titan, that means he can be the key to helping Luz create a new portal door! i mean sure that means that they'll probably have to use King's blood for that but i think King will still be willing to help.
some guy just started watching the owl house and posting his reactions and god the "only a human can pass through the forcefield" thing in episode one makes so much sense
As good as this episode was, maaannnn you can tell this story arc was meant to be longer but the writers had to cut it down to a single episode after the show was cancelled before it could get a third season. How amazing it would have been to have King and Luz interact with these characters and tribe over several episodes as they slowly learned more about this side of the world, the "Great Hunter" and their actual purpose. It just felt so rushed sadly. :(
Im going to have to disagree on them using alternet takes for the flashbacks. The dialouge is drastically different from the originals, and both are from very very important moments. I feel like those would be from very fleshed out parts from the scripts and not give much room for VAs to free style. Also Camilias lip sync is different! If it was a mistake they wouldnt have bothered reanimating her lips, that just seems rather pointless. + The message being changed by Luz's POV is cool as hell ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
now there are people who say/theorize that in reality that image of Luz possessed by Collector is actually her disguised and pretending to be Collector to convince the titan hunters to help her fight against Belos...

Do you think belos has no further use for luz or he still has plans for her. So if King is a Titan does that mean he's going to become huge someday.

Oh that’s cool
@@AceRide shame he has no one to learn from, unless Time Pools could send him back to the past far enough he can meet a fully grown, living titan.

I think King’s father passes away🪦 By the way, what does The Collector collect?
the collector did capture the owl beast and apparently titans so unique monsters I guess
Maybe the collector collects titain bones? That or owl house plushies
@@franciosdauteuil4626 But Luz might interupt the ritual and get possessed by the collector as shown by concept art
In one of the earlier episodes Gus is seen with a checklist most of the things are pretty useless except for the mission of digging a tunnel under hexside which could be used in labyrinth runners
gus evacuating hexside ,maybe? since belos eats palismans and...hexside is full of witch with palismens?
A realization.
"A deep roar." / meaning "Son"
"Then something happened. But I was too small to do anything."

@@arlainecarinugan3703 Bill's poster literally said "The Boiling Isle's Lost Son"
Eclipseus?
they're not really **evil**, more like,, chaotic neutral

@@Joso997 Blue fire just made me realize: Bill is Bill, not King!
Ok but King is totally gonna see the collector when no one is around
belows: _welcome to the group king_
I was very suprised by king being a titan does that mean when he grows up he is going to be really big
You were surprised by a mediocre show made by a white woman? Lmao
What do you think?
you get me hooked on this one
Hey I've see you before
Somewhere
I really like this
OMG! Yes King is a titan and has titan blood in him.
And just a drop can be quite powerfull😮
On the poster in Bill’s chamber for “The Lost Son” it says how it can only be found be someone who is worthy, and Eda stumbled across the island while fleeing with no knowledge, and only she and King can go to the Islands, so I think she is somehow “chosen” to find king? Also the tower King was in us completely adorned with celestial symbology, so the connection to the Collector goes all the way back to that episode maybe? Until we know why or who built the tower or the true connection between Collector and Titan.
9:55
People may have already said this, but I think the last Titan is one of King's parents, not King himself.
I don't know how I know that, but I do."
Also, as an aside, the Boiling Isles Titan REALLY doesn't look like King. King's skull looks like a canid skull. The titan looks like a humanoid skull. And we've seen that there are ones with more crocodillian skulls. Different species of titan, all of them massive. Like the Subnautica leviathans.
yes, I never liked the theory of king being the titan's son just because they are SO different and ppl kept saying they were similar in appearance
well maybe the skulls look different since the titan of the boiling isles is a fully grown titan and king is still a child.
@@tsuyuasui7297 Unlikely, considering the murals of the Titan Catchers depict them with their titan pup skulls killing giant titans with the same, elongated, canid, non-humanoid skull. I keep thinking about belos’s motives. Every time he allows Luz to get away or to witness some thing are leaving her clues.
Yeah I agree something's not right here I think belos is still up to something and needs luz to complete his plan
I think the creator wanted to show that the first time wasn't a accident and Luz is just not good with memory in emotional moments.
@@umbrosia5202 that's how I took it as well.
If only the writers could make Luz an interesting character

AHHHH just finished the episode 10 minutes ago. Perfect timing for my favorite cartoon creators!
Well there's the more terrifying revelation that most ofmthe titan trapper skulls were probably BABIES
Probably there were few kinds of titans one more humanoid other more canine like and one with more horse like head but just canine like titans were the most common and had the most comfortable skulls to wear
That or cultist knew what was the last kind of titan so they purposfully wore those skulls to look like the last titan who probably doesn't know who he is as he is well.....the last of it's kind

Been watching episode breakdowns here and there since SU era. Thanks to Vox & everyone at Roundtable vids for their excellent analysis, energy, and content!
Now that I start to remember… what did Hooty do with all the blood that he took from King in that other episode?
Either disposed of it properly, or.... he stashed it somewhere and it’s going to be found later.
I personally don’t think luz changing the collectors rhyme is a mistake. Here’s my idea:
So The last time luz changed what a person said in her memory was with her mom.
A different form, a different time
new form means newly created and the collector has the same general craziness and personality of bill AND the show is made by basically the same people that made Gravity Falls so yea the collector is a child version of Bill Cipher
But that's just a theory
I think in the next episode "Labyrinth Runners", Luz, King, and Hooty return to the Owl House just as its being raided by the Emperor's Coven, only to be rescued by Raine Whispers, Darius, and Eberwolf and taking them somewhere safe.
Now I'm decently new to Owl House but I have an idea that Titans can size shift, Like how Eda goes from regular to Harpy Mode, now I saw this mostly cause of the size of Kings Castle, I mean that Castle is wayyyy to Small for a full grown Titan, now I'm probably wrong but I don't know maybe I'm right
The Boiling Isles Titan being King's dad adds another layer of tragedy to King's scene in 'Knock, Knock, Knockin on Hootie's Door'. King was so angry and distraught thinking that his dad had abandoned him, all the while he could not have been physically closer;
he was literally right under King's nose almost his entire life.
You're giving the white woman too much credit
@@leonishikino6873 I am giving her the credit she deserves. Belos being Phillip was foreshadowed in EPISODE 1. The barrier Luz has to break through and only she can do it cause she’s a human? Sounds a bit suspicious if you ask me, especially because they were in an EMPEROR’S COVEN BUILDING.
@@robynkasper2058 this show doesn't have foreshadowing because it plays everything safe, it's a discount Gravity Falls
@@leonishikino6873 plays it safe?! It has traumatized almost every one of its main characters! And yes, it does foreshadow. I can’t list all of the one here because there are so many, but one of the main examples is the Grimwalker page in Belos’s diary.
@@robynkasper2058 >traumatized

So Hunters threat back at the start of season 2 meant nothing? Lmao
@@handlebarevildimension I thought the same:)
First off Luz has really improve on her art work 👍and I’m wondering if King can open portals 🤔🤔🤔on his own since it’s own blood that Luz and Belos use it 😅😅😅
So amazing can't wait to see how it all comes together
I actually really like the thought that Luz misremembers lines based on how she internalizes them. That’s such a realistic portrayal of what happens in real life.
idk if anyone else has said this but I feel like with knowing he's a titan he might offer his blood if luz were to need it since it seems like the used the last of it in ep 16 (?)
I don’t think they used it all, but were just wary of using it because they don’t have that much left. Yes I bet King could uses his blood though
Actually thinking back I don’t think they actually used it because they were given the reversal spell
I think the show’s crew decided to use alternate lines as a way to display Luz not remembering correctly because she’s a kid and kids don’t remember everything exactly how it was originally.
I’m kind of mad that they’re not looking for Hunter in this episode
Yeah but the Double Agent Coven heads prolly have him
I was kind of hoping that after that Oscar worthy episode of hollow mind that they would follow it up with some thing at least half as good. They outdid my expectations
Thank you for uploading! I’ve been waiting!
Let’s not forget Kings original heterochromatic design matching the design of our “yet to be met” heterochromatic foe

Plus we didn't get an update on Hunter this episode.
I agree since Hunter will help Gus since he no longer servers Belos anymore since he was being used by him and i still expect that he will join the Owl House gang possibly a main character for the 3rd and POSSIBLE final season just like how Zuko did in the Last Airbender did around a decade ago.
My question is why do people think that the collector hates titans? He doesn’t bat an eye when Belos mentions the titan.
I've been wanting you to do a review on this episode today and it looks like it happened :)
Interesting idea: I think the reason why in the dream sequence king has no imaginary mother is that he already sees eda as his mum
With turning the owl beast into a curse, working with Belos to destroy magic, and encouraging others to wipe out the titans, I have to question what dose the Collector want. What is there endgame?
With what we know about them...
Probably something dark...
And accompanied by their trademark child like laughter and energy ☀️🌙
Imagine king got a papercut, and luz was like "DONT MOVE" and just got a little shot glass or smth to collect the blood lol.
I DIDNT THINK ABOUT THAT UR RIGHT
considering the fact that the fallen titans are all children i dont find it likely that the titan is kings father, since there are many offspring all wiped out there mustve been more, so that must be his ancestor
I was trying to sleep, but I guess my sleeping can wait
So I've been relistening to the sound clips, and I noticed the Roar of the owl beast and the following explosion sounds are similar to what prehatched King hears in the flash back "the roar that meant son"
The titan trappers also had wings which could indicate that the owl beast could mate with Titans or began to as the Collector hunted down the two species (it might be that the owl beast is just the female form of a titan, I'm thinking like in dark crystal where female gelflings have wings) this would futher indicate why Eda was able to make it to the island when as Lilith says dosent exist on any map.
King being a titan solves the lack of titan blood for the portal door.
Is it important that King’s powers matches the color of the Collector’s physical design? Yellow, orange, and blue
Did anyone else see Anne’s racket when Luz picked up those weapons to see Bill? Thought that was a nice easter egg :)
This is about to be crazy
the spear gives some stranges reference to the instrumentality project from eva maybe the day of unity is a atempy by the collector to revive the titan and using the body as a vessel esk the third impact from eva "unitying all magic/essence of the titan in one place " having also a side project to get ride of all titans to never get traped again also in the rymes he made on the last ep you can see the titan awaken.... on that note, we might see day of unity getting aborted but the colector resorting to possesses king
Personal dark prediction :
King will die or get severely injured in King’s tide, his blood will be used as a portal to free the collector (since it’s blue that’s censorship in itself so Disney could allow it), the collector will possess Luz n s2 will end there…
Really hope not because I don't need marcy being possesd by the core flashbacks

Luz’s memories being different from what actually happened is definitely intentional and not just a production quirk. Scripts should be meticulously checked by the writers, Dana wouldn’t just let inconsistent dialogue happen for fun
actually heart breaking given how since the titan skulls are very small a great deal of them may have been kids

I don't see how boiling isles itself can be King's father since it been dead for millions of years and King is only 8
Unless there is some time travling going on were King's egg was laid before the titan died and sent to future for protection
Also I have a theory that titans can change sizes and are not always giants and the reason why Boiling Isles is so big is because they were in battle mode fighting an other titan which was most likely the titan King, Luz and Hooty went to on Edge of the World
While I do believe King will grow to be very big I don't think he'll grow to be the size of island unless he discovers he has the power to change size.
Hooty took a sample of kings blood in that one episode where luz began dating amity
Idk man, if it only happened once then I could write it off as a mistake, but twice in a similar context is a bit suspicious
does it mean that every time Luz wants to pass from one world to another King would have to cut himself?
I think they will make some kind of permanent portal with the amount of blood King can safely donate.
some guy just started watching the owl house and posting his reactions and god the "only a human can pass through the forcefield" thing in episode one makes so much sense
king has titan blood

Im going to have to disagree on them using alternet takes for the flashbacks. The dialouge is drastically different from the originals, and both are from very very important moments. I feel like those would be from very fleshed out parts from the scripts and not give much room for VAs to free style. Also Camilias lip sync is different! If it was a mistake they wouldnt have bothered reanimating her lips, that just seems rather pointless.
+ The message being changed by Luz's POV is cool as hell ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
