Glad we weren't too far off from Belos and GG being "family/family-esque." GG obvs has a human ancestor, but not too sure if BELOS is that ancestor and is PW yet. No other option really, and with how much is left of the show, it seems obvs. But eh, I feel Belos is just A human that got corrupted, but not PW. I feel it's one or the other, but not both. 1:51. The construction coven leader doesn't look too terrible thrilled either. It may just be his normal look, but it could also mean that some of the other covers don't like Belos' possible outcome either.
Yeah, you can tell that the Bard chick did not want to be here. It gives us a hint that not all the Coven Heads are evil. But will have to see for ourselves.
The potion coven leader's mouth is covered by his mask but his brow looks angry as well? (Plus it would be nice if he WAS on Eda's side since she used to be in the potion coven herself.)
I have a feeling most of them are there just to "humor" Belos. I also wouldn't be surprised if most if not all will be on the Owl Houses side in the rebellion.
For any fans of Stephen King's Dark Tower saga. The parallel of the students and their bile sacks being used to bring on the "Day of Unity" is very similar for how The Crimson King uses the breakers to destroy the Dark Tower. SPOILER for the DT series! Breakers are children who are gifted with powerful psychic energy. Similar to the shine that Danny Torrance has in the Shining. The main villain of the story finds out that torturing and even murdering these children will release this energy, which will in turn create shock waves that will break the tower, which will destroy everything in existence.
Have we seen any motion from Kiki's double-clawed top? After the school principle showed his Palisman, it is easy to imagine that Kiki's double-claw top is her Palisman.
Personally, I see a lot of implications that Belos doesn't particularly care for Hunter, or if there was any form of love it's been deeply buried within the man's own mounting amount of problems, and thus prioritizing himself over Hunter. This is me likely reading too far into this, but I feel as though I can draw a few connections from Belos' interactions with his curse to things such as substance abuse- the way he allows himself to become violent in front of what should be a dependent (Hunter may be a soldier but he is 16 and allegedly Belos' nephew) being one such example of this (i.e the loss of inhibitions). Also, Hunter's reaction to being struck towards the end of the episode (barely flinching, immediately apologizing as if aware of what Belos wants to hear) makes it seem as though this is not his first time experiencing what could be a physical blow from his uncle. I am not convinced that was an isolated experience. And we haven't even breached the mass amounts of emotional manipulation that Belos has targeted towards Hunter. Quite frankly I think we're giving the Emperor a little too much credit in regards to his interactions with Hunter.
I completely agree I don't understand why anyone thinks Belos cares for Hunter. Hunter is clearly being abused and emotionally manipulating him. That last scene was clearly meant to show this, those scares are most likely from Belos.
@@nerdycurls6253 I wrote an entire reply but it got yeeted rip. Anyways, yes agreed! What should be noted however is the way in which people are interpreting the story, and from whose eyes we are seeing this. For instance, we are experiencing the narrative through the eyes of an unreliable narrator (Hunter) who himself is blind to the implications of Belos' actions, likely through isolation and manipulation. With Hunter's care for Belos clouding his judgment, he is making excuses that some of the viewers are likely picking up and is also affecting their interpretations of both the narrative and Belos' and Hunter's relationship. Which is some incredible writing on The Owl House' part!
am i the only one who can hear the wails and screams in the background when belos shows the coven heads the vision of the titan? im also rlly liking the idea that belos is some kind of litch-thing or maybe he was just a human who died in the demon realm and when he was burried the dead titan imbued his corpes with that necrotic, dark magic stuff that turns him into whatever the heck that thing was that we saw at the start

In the mask people respect him, he is feared, he is has a high rank in the boiling isles, his image is posted all around the island, he can be who ever he wants to be, his true self, that is why he can be goofy, funny, and more animated. Luz is the first person to respect/care/ is intrigued by hunter and not the gilden guard. In that scene where she said “your just the *golden guard*” it hit him and made him change his mind because for the first time someone likes him more not as the guard and and liked him more withought it. Anyone else notice that the Oracle Coven Head looks like their related to Kikimura? With the whole inhuman skin color and hand-hair thing
This is my favorite episode so far the actions, the palisman, the rivalry it just soooo good i love it especially when Luz hijacked hunter's ship with fire glyph and then he just ragdolling like Gmod character stuck with a thruster 😂
Below is pulling a Dante from Fullmetal Alchemist’s first anime.
You cannot convince me that Belos isn’t raising Hunter be a fresh body vessel while his pen is failing him.
Gus has a cross between a chameleon and a squirrel for his palisman
That quote you said about luz's palisman not fitting in like herself makes me wonder, *Is she gonna carve a giraffe!?!?*
The main villain of the story finds out that torturing and even murdering these children will release this energy, which will in turn create shock waves that will break the tower, which will destroy everything in existence.
i love how knock knock knockin on hootys door is a reference to the song knockin on heavens door
I love how Bump just decides to bring a known criminal and k campus to help teach class
Amity: Don’t you do it, Luz!
Luz: *slapped him.*
Amity: That’s my girl.
stolen joke
I don’t get it.
Lumity: Romance!
Luzter: SIBLINGS!!!
I want my palisman to be a Griffin, but with the head of a lion, the body of a wolf, and dragon wings.
Sounds cool, I’d want mine to a snake
@@lonelystargazer8090 i want mine to be a holographic disc
@@lonelystargazer8090 YES YES YES SNAKE GANG!!!
@@lonelystargazer8090 why a snake
@@letsgofaith5839 SNAKE GANG!!!!
Honestly homeboy Hunter just needs some sleep, dude more sleep deprived than a college student
Hunter does have a human Skin Tone.... I just noticed that.
Just remembered he isn't the only one with human skintone SMH... But he is a powerless witch, IDK but this is just a theory: maybe this is cause of human DNA interference, or that he's half human IDK. Just a thought....
Amity, Willow, Gus, Eda. Bump, Matt, etc etc, all have human skin tones. Tons of characters do, just as there's tons of non human skin tones. I don't think that means anything
@@xpandorasboxx sorry yeah, lol I forgot while posting that..... But what does stand out is that he's a powerless witch, idk if this could be cause he's probably half human orrrrr... Remember IDK, maybe it's not true just a thought.
@@xpandorasboxx nah idk about eda and amity
Hunter looks like he has not slept in days.
My pet theory is that Belos is gonna transfer his consciousness into hunter's body to escape his curse. The classic lich wanting to live forever.
This is a really good theory reminds me of adventure time
Wait im not the only one who thought of that?
Talking about eclipses, the mural in King's Castle of the Horned Demon, has a Eclipse behind their head...
Fun fact: the kiss slap was always planned until the pilot
Head canon: What if the Owl house theme isn’t called the owl house theme kinda like Hedwigs theme from Harry Potter…. So is the owl house theme called the Emperor’s theme or 😱 The golden Guard theme hence why he was whistling it.
i just relised belos is like hawk moth/gabriel and hunter is like cat noir/adrien
Vox:
"That's right, principal Bump is beautiful!"
TOH fans:
"No arguments here."
After I saw the episode on Saturday, I was waiting for this video! Thank God, it's finally here!
Gus has a chameleon since he knows illusion magic. Coincidence i think not!!
Are we not gonna talk about the Palisman that's basically a goose meme?
_shut_
LUZ: “SLAP CAM!”
I loved this episode, even though it was only 20 minutes it felt so long, and they did such a good job with helping redeem hunter, I can’t tell way, but it just did such a good job
With his mask he feels like he can be more funny and showman like. Withought it he feels vulnerable, a with with no powers, no future, no parents or family besides bellow, no choice in his life because if he doesn’t do what bellow says he will have *nothing*, he has no idea what is happening his life is being decided for him and he doesn’t know why he is doing what he does, and in general weak and young and must demand respect from people by being harder. That is why he sided with luz and possibly what the cardinal saw in him
I really hope there's a good focus on his redemption arc
The fact that the crescent from Amity, the figure and the day of unity, is a waning crescent with a meaning: surrender, resting/restoring, reflection, composition, and intuition
What if Belos was the one to wipe out Hunter’s family because of his curse which was caused by wild magic?
Ya! I was waiting for an awesome episode review from The Roundtable!
Remember when you said the plant coven leader would be hot. I didn’t know you had a thing for old people Vox.
9:29 Viney palisman is a maticore, a mythical beast from greek mythology and Gus palisman is a chameleon, a lizard that can change its color just like a illusionist can change his appearance.
I think hunter is a clawthorne given how his personality is like Eda and Lilith merged together ,and he has a bird palisman which is very suspicious
Also belos and Hunter have masks that look like birds
@@tareag993 Hunter, having an owl mask. That is really coincidental, especially with Hunter sacrificing an owl palisman to Belos before. Idk, it feels like smthn
This episode revealed sooo much information I legit almost tried making a video about it, but I didn't. You break it down so well
I would just like to point out t&e fact that dana said that birds are like a clawthorn thing in her AMA soooo...
i know i am late but i like the fact that the precinct number is 206 like this episodes code number, season 2 episode 6
The Golden Guard’s name is actually my real name. I realized that my name is more common irl than in shows
10:46 was honestly hilarious for me, from GG whistling the theme song to the narrator making a team rocket joke-
I don't think that Eda's curse is actually a curse I suspect it may be part of a forgotten ritual one at where somebody faces off against a corrupted form of their own spirit animal
That woodpecker palisman and Hunter really reminded me of a character from the series Three Dark Crowns, where the temple priestesses (basically the Emperor's Coven in terms of power) aren't allowed to use magic, but one of their members, a naturalist with a sparrow familiar, keeps her anyway in spite of knowing that the other priestess would kill the sparrow on sight if they ever found out because their bond is so strong.
I predict that belos will try to convince luz to help him or let him bring the day of unity because it will allow luz to preform magic in the human realm
I can see Hunter & Luz being Frenemies to where when Hunter sees her & Amity together he starts teasing Luz about having a girlfriend/crush
6:06 (Spoilers for Season 2 Episode 16)
"Belos cares deeply for the golden guard"
**Cue Laugh track**
I know we can’t see his mouth, but based on his brow it looked like the Construction Coven head wasn’t smiling either
14:26 LMFAO WHY WAS THIS STOCK FOOTAGE INCLUDED
RAIN (Bard coven head) IS NB AND I'M SO HYPED TO MEET THEM
that little devil thing is actually a palisman
If Belos Dies the one who inherits the Emperor's Coven is HUNTER,
From Golden Guard to Golden Emperor
You know the magic hat that Luz tried to get why couldn’t belos use it for his curse or something unless it’s fake or it doesn’t work ???
I have a strong feeling it was a fake, but then again all the other artifacts were the real deal, so who knows
aaaa luz and hunter give off such sibling energy, i hope hunter becomes a part of the owl house found family :)
