I attribute kikimora's motive to be explained by going crazy with the need to be feel important and more importantly secure. With Lilith gone there is no longer a scape goat, no longer someone who constantly fails and makes her look better by comparison. It's implied with hunter that he is successful in most missions barring the palisman one. At least that's how bellos sees him. So for kikimora, after witnessing the aftermath of Lilith leaving, she was driven mad a bit. She needs to feel secure. She needs to make sure she isn't seen as a failure and looses everything. I think a Kiki episode where she betrayed a friend for the coven or was adopted into it, maybe she was put down for being a demon and could only find purpose and worth in the coven, whatever the reason, the coven is the only thing she has left. I think part of her character is ment to highlight the toxic environment of the emperors coven. Showing the toll this petty, climbing on the backs of others esc workplace influences those involved.

I agree. The power struggle between Kiki and Hunter as they both fight for Bello's favor, really illustrates how Bellos has conditioned them and presumably others in his coven to be desperately trying to seek his approval and please him despite all the abuse he gives them. They are so desperate for approval and to please him so he'll finally tell them how much he appreciates them, that it means they will willingly do horrible things to get that approval, which is also an effective way to make sure they won't ever question his orders, as they will be so desperate to make him happy they will do whatever he tells them even if they have issues with it. We saw this on display during Eclipse Lake, mostly with Hunter, but a little from Kiki. It shows how evil of a villain Bellos is.

I can see why Kikimora’s character goes the route it does later in the series. I actually forgot she appeared when Lilith couldn’t defeat her at the Coven games, so that was quite the refresher. Also, like someone said, Kiki’s hair does look like a giant hand, and I didn’t really notice that detail much till now. The more one knows about the design and detail of a character. My theory is Bello wants the portal to the human world so he can go home but at the same time he wants to destroy the boiling Isles along with wiping out all the witches out of Revenge for what happened to his brother

I think that Kikimora's hatred of Hunter precedes the palismen incident, she's been dealing with him for years, Lilith hated him also, and honestly, they're not wrong to call him a brat. I'd probably be resentful too if I had to work with him.
Plus, he's seemingly got his job out of nepotism, and everyone hates people like that, especially if you perceive yourself to have worked hard to get where you are.

Seeing character like Kiki and Hunter striving for the Emperor’s approval really makes me wish the show would’ve went down the route of having a villain family instead, especially more with Hunter and Belos (it’s when all the villains still have their goals but they all still love and care for one another).
Oh yeah, villain family's are awesome. Showing that despite all the evil they do, these villains aren't completely heartless monsters, they do have some emotions and feelings and shows that they aren't one-note characters that are mostly evil just because. Also, it can lead to some funny dynamics with the villains, like some of them doing something domestic like playing catch while thinking up a new evil plan.

okay no, if you would want some found villain family shit, your gonna have the rewrite belos motive, his backstory as philip, in goals and even how he views witches and his own brother to make it work, but at that point he be a whole different character (aka ooc) and hoenstly wouldnt be as a compelling and great villain if it were the case
If there was some villian family thing, Hunter most likely would’ve never got his character development.
She feels a driving NEED to be number 2, and with Golden Guard getting Lilith's old position, he became her new target, only without a clear and legal flaw to exploit. Also, since Lilith getting banished wasn't enough to get Kiki what she wanted, she'll have to escalate. By offing GG, she forces Belos to give her more attention and authority. That GG is family to Belos may only make her more angry, since no matter how much work she does, she isn't related to Belos.
She is a fanatic, the biggest fanatic, and she'll kill anyone who says otherwise or makes her loyalty to BELOS seem lesser.
I feel the writers might be going for a dark parallel with Bellos/kikimore/gold guard, vs Eida/King/Lu. Bellos like Eida could have found Kiki and now she is as devoted to him as King is to Eida, but in a servitude way, not the partner/adoptive relationship King and Eida have.

Kikimora reminds me of Starscream from Transformers. She wants to get up in rank, but may want to be second, or even become a ruler much like Azula in Avatar and like her, starts suspect others to be backstabbers because she backstabs. Like a thief thinks everyone else is a thief.
Kikimora definitely has some interesting stuff going on with her, especially with the role she’s got in the story. Also, since Jessica said her va said Kiki will get more insight in future episodes, it has me interested with how Kiki’s involvement in the story will continue

Here's something about Disney Channel that frustrates me to no end. They're still airing Jessie, a show that ended about 6 years ago and yet The Owl House stopped airing on Disney maybe a few months after Yesterday's Lie aired. I know that Disney doesn't care about cartoons (unless they're very popular/ are episodic but they really don't treat their cartoons with any form of respect.
Kiki is definitely a villain I love to hate. Something about her is kinda fun to watch, not gonna lie. Also, she’s voiced by Mela Lee, which I think makes her so fun to watch
I agree with most of the other commenters here. Kiki is clearly a workaholic with nothing else going for her, and it's later developed that it's likely that when she left her toxic parents' home and started on her job, it was probably the best day of her life. AIn contrast, Hunter got everything she ever wanted out of nepotism, not his effort. Job security, standing, even a supportive parental figure(supposedly). We know that wasn't true, but she didn't. The only thing Kikimore ever wanted was to be where Hunter was, so of course she was more than upset with him.
Plus, she was clearly extremely petty, selfish, arrogant and childish. She might have also had baggage regarding not getting what she wanted even though it was the first thing she ever truly wanted in her life, possibly because growing up in a toxic environment you tend to not even understand the concept of 'wanting' something 'for yourself'. So when she finally gets a taste of that, and have the main dish get dangled in your face for who knows how long, she might have been a little unstable.

I first read the title as "What is wrong with Kikimora?" And honestly that's a valid question too
It's as if they're trying the Azula route, but forgetting to show us an actual transition from normal to "insane." It's not like she and her boss are family either.
Consider what little we do know about Kikimora's family: her mother called her while she was busy with the Coven Day Parade, threatening to banish her from Palm Stings if she didn't come to the family reunion. This indicates that her mother is extremely demanding of her daughter and that she's highly influential.
I don’t love Kiki, but I think she has a ton of potential. Maybe if we had an episode or two focused on her and Hunter we could see why she has so much hatred for him, but given the show’s time crunch, I’m not sure we can get that
Personally, I actually like the growing paranoia/insanity of Kikimora, mostly because it was introduced with Lilith, that being out of Belos's approval made Lilith grow paranoid, and also almost got her petrified. I think that the paranoia didn't really come out of left field, but it was a little exaggerated, since Kikimora could fear Belos, and that's why she's terrified of Hunter having higher authority than her. But I do feel like her paranoia grew a little too fast, maybe it could show more and more as the show went on instead of very suddenly appearing? Or maybe someone could overhear Kikimora saying that she's scared of losing her job?
I really like this character so far! Her design is nice and unique, her voice is quite calming and velvety, and she makes a good "apprentice-type" villain. It's nice see the use of actual demons in folklore. I do hope we get some more backstory on her as well as deeper exploration for her motives. With the Owl House being shortened and additional content only being a possibility, I'm not sure what we won't get to see. Elijah is definitely my favorite UA-camr who reacts to The Owl House, but I'd argue with her hatred towards Kikimora. One thing I did find out/notice that I didn't the first time was that she has tusks emerging from her mouth, like a boar. We haven't gotten a full view of her face yet, and despite the fact that I praise her design, I picture in my head her face with tusks and I think it looks a bit stupid. My opinion on that will probably completely change as soon as I see it, because I never really cared to know about Luz's father, but now that he's been acknowledged, I desperately want to know more about him.

I personally think she should’ve been the kind of character that comes off as week and just like she only there to fill out paperwork or some other standard job only for her to be one of the most powerful characters and show off a powerful wild witch only to have her defeat her in only a few attacks

Really like the music you’re using!! It felt a little loud in the episode though and made it a little so I couldn’t hear some lines at some points, but it’s still great! Maybe turn it down for future videos but I really like it!
Kiki would have been an amazing menace before the final boss (even the final boss depending if the end villain gets evangelized) if they had given the team time to actually flesh them out. Kikimora despite the rush to tie the ends is nice but her mental spiral feels a bit rushed and performative for sake of reaching the end in the way the creator intended 😩

My favorite (and the final good) moment of Kikimora was her realizing Hunter was the one to attack her in Hunting Palismen. She's loyal to Belos, but will gladly backstab anyone to keep her position. To do that, she's become subtle, patient, and conniving. She's become a master at the unspoken game Belos expects each coven member to play.

Yeah I like Kikimora and think she’s an effective enough antagonist but I do understand the problems some have with her it does remind me it’s kinda a shame Owl House had to be cut short a bit and couldn’t get a full third season could have used that extra screen time to iron some things out. Hopefully things will go smoothly in season 2B. Glad to start off 2022 with more content from you.
I think that her confrontation with Hunter at the end of Hunting Palismen wasn't a one time thing. They'd done that song and dance before, where he is a brat and taunts her, and then Belos is treating this brat like he's the best thing ever, threatening the status she no doubt took forever to build up...

I think she more similar to catra she gonna be the one pain in the neck you never thought about before but still posed a somewhat threat and then once you defeated belos she’s gonna come out of nowhere and in a fit of insanity fuck everything up like kinda how catra did for the portal finale
Finger Dragon Is A Great Character!
I really like kikimora for the fact that she's such a weird character. She makes absolutely no sense (exaggeration) to the point where her antics are just comedic. She's real annoying and ilove her for it. Plus her design is probably my favourite character design in the show. I think if there were some explainiation through more context of her backstory mainly with history in the coven she could be something really interesting. Like, I'm curious what about the golden guard made her just snap. In my head I have it as she feels overlooked, lilith just was taken out of her way and she seems to be so loyal that now she'd feel like she'd get more recognition, maybe even becoming the new golden child/face of the coven, but then this child prodigy swoops in and seems to be even closer to belos than she is somehow and that just breaks her. [S3 spoilers: Given she's now appeared in s3 I wonder if we'll have more of her as a main antagonist now she's more of an independent entity from belos. I'm curious if shell find her way back to belos. Also seeing that belos is probably going tohave to be around the collector a lot I wonder if she'll end up being really involved in that. I dunno, she's fucking awful I lover her.
After what happened with belos betraying her and others i was hoping her to have a redemption arc, showing her leading a resistance against collector and with belos returning fighting on front lines against him.

honestly.....I am quite disappointed. it was a character with such potential......remember the first time we saw her speak with lilith in person face to face....showing behind her back, and she had all that nice attitude.....I was thinking that she was going to be the real pupeteer behind everything...she had all those vibes. but then they trashed it all out for a faud with a teenager.

for being the "empire main force" they don´t feel so.. authoritarian? one of the most wanted criminals is living in the same house for years and no one capture her, most of its members are used for comedy relief, there is always chaos or demons that random citizens (like students) need to deal with INSIDE THE CITIES, The Warden also didn´t take his job very seriously just doing what he wanted to, and hell, a f//cking clown decides to make Eda work for him selling apples instead of snitch on her which means that the reward offered wasn´t even THAT much as the 0 implies (inflation in the boiling islands(?)... the island isn´t even THAT big or populated, how few members they have?
5. with her last appearance I fear that they will do to her what apparently become a trend in most cartoons and it is that, if the character isn´t going to get redeemed or just being pure evil, the writers usually turn it into a comedic relief or a hate sync... and... I'm not sure if I like that- I prefer when the villain even being bad takes decisions that make sense (translation: act with a minimum of common sense) or even when the series let him be wise in general but without trying to turn it good.. is.. that makes it more interesting without needing to do much effort so it would fit a lot to side-villains but is often not made... its feel like they don´t want kids to like bad people at all but then the main villains get a better job and it´s confusing :v7
6. theory time: apparently kikimoras are spirits that act like very moody households, if house is gud they help with domestic tasks, and if the house is dirty she wents insane and breaks things and chokes kids. With this info I imagine the possibility of Kikimora being like that but the house is the "castle", that´s why she makes all type of task in the kindgom (tours for kid, presentations for meetings, managing the tropes), + I found kind of funny that she is technically the "head maid" but since she is the head maid of a fortress for a militally-like dictator she is actually powerful xd this could also explain her behaviour, she isn´t exactly loyal to Belos and his family but rather to the "castle" itself, whatever that means, maybe its translante of taking care of the empire but at her own way (and Belos is part of that way) or seeing how the castle has important parts from the titan (the heart) she is loyal to the Titan itself... in both cases Belos is an important pieces and that would explain why she please him but not necesarily Belo´s ideals... this could collide a little with "Hunter is importabt for the Titan´s plan" but there is always the possibility that Belos is full of shit when he talks to Hunter =

Kikimora (The Owl House) is like Amethyst (Steven Universe). Both characters feel that their shortness hinders their worth; to others and themselves. Therefore, they constantly feel like they need to prove something.

Belos has been built up too much to be tossed aside for Kikimora's spotlight
She might become a challenge for the main characters taking a support role on the villain's side and causing trouble through other ways, but she has done literally nothing to warrant a "Main villain" title
With Star vs, there was a villain in every season. S1 was ludo/Toffee near the end, S2 was Ludo but mostly Toffee and S3 was Meteora.
TOH has always set up Emperor Belos as the main villain, and Kikimora has been set up as a psychopathic gremlin who's mostly there to keep stuff in order and be creepy about it
Pls don't use music and if you really want to use it then make it really really quiet like other youtubers do, becouse it's hard to concentrate on what you say when music is almost louder than you.

Honestly, I felt that Belos' face reveal was rather disappointing and just laughably bad. I mean come on, writers and Dana Terrace. That's supposed to be our villain himself?! He looks like a joke rather than a threat in the series! if anything, he's making Ludo from SvTFOE look like Dr. Claw and SatAM Robotnik.
The point of showing his face was to give a more human and soft feeling to him and to flesh him out more

I think the reason he looked so human was based off psychology. A viewer like you expects a grand and menacing villain, but when it is revealed that he is a human being and he has a family it changes your worldview completely. He warrants the viewers’ empathy, but that doesn’t affect how much of a threat he is to those who oppose him.
