      Translate to English please:
Ага, конечно. Обычное знание - это просто знание, и ничего другое. Если не практиковаться, то, конечно, знания и навыки отпадут, но они останутся - закон сохранения знаний в природе. В этом не согласен с монахом. А так, да, умные вещи говорит человек. Правда, всё равно есть угроза заснуть от философии.

Yeah, so is the... present. As most of us think about past, what could have been, or the next day, the future.
Who trully lives in the present? As life is just a bunch of short "moments of time" or "short moments IN time", right now, in the present.
Such simple concept(s), yet so difficult to achieve, as most of us is not conditioned to do so.

IDK if he really meant it that way, or it’s an example of our modern thoughts. Saying the future doesn’t matter unless I’m there sounds fairly egocentric for a monk.

But my life had been one of athleticism since my youth, so I went for it. It was DIFFICULT!! But you know what? I kid you not. Within two weeks of constantly losing my balance, holding positions that I never thought I had the strength to do anymore, and just continuing to show up, there was a physical, mental and emotional shift in me. I knew that I had found what I'd been searching for. I LOVE working with this Master. ❤

Most of us do man... a lot of people who you didn't hear about (or haven't hear about). Maybe even your co-workers. Go through a lot. Pure grind and pain of everyday life.
At the end, we don't know what is going on in another life, another person, what kind of internal "demons" this person is fighting through, or what kind of personal problems are in their lives. We never do. All we can do is our best, that sometimes we notice that, in the other person, that maybe something is wrong there, or the person needs help. But in most cases... we won't. We have our own "demons" to fight with, our day to day struggles.
But I bet that guy would. He would notice it. Straight away. And he also would have been there for us at that point.
      Edit: usual stuff > grammar/spelling.

"Too busy with their body, too busy with activity to be depressed" I can attest to this because of my job. When I am at work, I am usually in the best mindset. I tend to forget bad things going on in my life, such as bad grades, getting over a girl, your family at home, whatever it may be. It still occupies my mind at work sometimes, but often, since I am working with my hands digging holes, carrying heavy things, moving stuff, or installing things in the ground, I am a bit more at ease.

He's entirely correct. We have become a WEAK society. The technology is destroying us. I run a farm, and getting consistent help and people who want to work has become beyond a challenge. It wasn't that way 10 years ago. People wanted to work and learn and develop this trade. Now, they don't think they need to show up when they committed to show up or to do a good job. They quit easy. They take offense easy. They dump their responsibility easy. They cannot handle feedback or understand the importance of getting the animals taken care of. They want basic skillset to happen easily for them. Forget about obtaining advanced skillset. They fantasize about having advanced skillset because they are depressed and unfulfilled within themselves, so they try once, fail, and quit. However, you cannot tell them they failed and to try again. You have to say, "Oh, good job." Maybe you'll get them to keep going. They might also think how wonderful they are and they've achieved what they wanted, so then they quit. It's come down to this...I've stopped trying to get people to work, and I pretty much do it all myself. It's sad because the skills will not be inherited into the next generation. I worked through my apprenticeships in exchange for lessons. If you work for money, you don't get the lessons. You walk away with money and less knowledge. If you work for the lessons, you gain knowledge, and then you can charge others to teach them. WORK. Get used to the idea because it never ends.

I understand what you mean, it has become very difficult. What solved the problem for me: A positive company culture. I consciously created our culture, I communicate it, we live this culture in the company and we have a very family-like atmosphere. My employees don't earn very much, but they enjoy coming to work because of our corporate culture. That's what motivates us as humans, whereas money is just a piece of paper. No one gets up in the morning motivated to get a piece of paper, but being around positive people who understand, appreciate and support you definitely does.

The take away, get physical, move your body, puts you in tune with yourself, relieves tension in the body (movement does), so many benefits. Then I think about where all this is coming from, how old is the shaolin temple? These teachings are not new, they are old but they are the way. There may be different ways to achieve the same discipline in different cultures yes, results are the same. Great video again.

It’s just to being more physically in motion, moving our selfs as much has we can. If give look on people living in far of cities and Civilizations advance through Technology, we can see that they live longer and healthy, because they don’t take the bus, they choose to walk. That’s all

Great speech. After I came across Shi Heng Yi's Videos almost 3 years ago I started practicing the Ba Duan Jin (8 Brocades Exercise) daily at home and it helped me to balance physically and mentally, change parts of my life, helped as a routine through tough times, strengthened me during good times. And it activated anchient wisdom, which is stored in our bodies.
A few months ago I stopped with this exercise. I had to and wanted to adjust my routine, because of body issues and because my body asked me to activate a different kind of energy. So I switched to something totally different - succesfully. It now slowly came to an end.
And for 2 days ago I kept hearing "Ba Duan Jin" first thing after waking up. So I started again with great joy and kept some of the routine from the past months 😀 What a treat. I love the intelligence of our bodies ❤️

I’m a 35 yo mum of two, and I have been listening to sadhguru for nearly 5 years, I have met him, and have done inner engineering in Bangalore India, but as of the past two weeks I have finally sat down or stood up to really listen and put into practice what these great masters are trying to enlighten us about. It might sound a little silly and I know some Shaolin warriors eat meat, but I want to follow the other school of Shaolin warriors who eat vegetarian, so I have decided to eat that way in 2023, and hopefully beyond. It’s so hard to always remember what you deem the truth or the way at that moment of listening, or coming face to face with an epiphany, realisation, aha moment, but we cannot give up. We must remember as the Master said, success is accepting that there is failure all the way. No matter how many times we muck up, let’s get back up again. In the spirit ofKorean and Japanese, Fighting ❤ or Buen Camino (if you know 😉) may the year of the rabbit reward you o’ brave soul 🎉

@Sherseo - scary thing is? All of that has been known for ages.
Donald Hoffman, John Archibald Wheeler, James Glattfelder, Seth Lloyd, Eduardo Kastrup... (yeah, Kastrup is good in modern age, very good in fact).
Also, helps to read a bit of something from a "classic philosophy", sort of Jung or even Joseph Campbell, Edward Edinger, Gary Lachman - and get familiar with "archetypes", and myths. Plus the usual "suspects" of a classic philosophy and old stories: Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Confucius, Homer or even Marcus Aurelius or Hypatia (or Cicero, as his observations in "The Nature of Gods" as spot on, and are relevant to this day).
Then move to something like research done by: Peter Fenwick, Pim van Lommel, or Ian Stevenson books, or even Tom Shroder book (kind of easy to digest view of the research done by Ian Stevenson). As that is opening a new chapter, still connected with research regarding something like a consciousness and what exactly reality is. And that is an eye opening stuff, especially Fenwick, with the research of "what happens when you die", and his youtube interview: "What Really Happens When You Die | Peter Fenwick's Studies of End-of-Life-Phenomena", as Fenwick did research at various hospitals, hospices, talking to professional nurses, doctors and also patients and their families. Pim van Lommel have done similar work.
At the end, we are much more than just a physical body, in a physical universe, and there is a lot of that hs is saying, that has been known for a long time. It is just most of the so called "Western" civilization forgotten about it, or should I say "hasn't cared about" or "doesn't care about it" anymore. Too bad it is becoming the same for the other nations too now, all about greed, money and egos, and the next year stock market price, while the whole ecosystems are dying in the name of greed.
Sometimes it is a pleasure to listen to talks like that, but also sad to see that is has been known for a long time, it is just we partly forgotten it, or simply don't care anymore. And since Cicero time, nothing has really changed that much regarding the "human nature".

He is so right ❣️ We are too used to our comfort. I can’t imagine how the people of earlier times could bear the harsh conditions and heavy labor. When I was 18, my 80 year old grandmother was literally “stronger” than me.
In older times, people used to wrap their broken arms and continue working in the field.
Now, even a splinter is difficult to tolerate for many us.

This one left a different feeling, compared to the first talk. I don't know if Master Shi reads any comments, probably not, cause there are too many... But I'd like to thank him for the talk he gave us. This was a great talk, and he is a great speaker. I'm just a guy from Russia, but I'd also like to further share what I think on the matter of the missing link.
Care and discipline take a lot of energy. I've been feeling lately, that our energy is only that much, for every one of those 8 billion human beings. Each is given their own natural amount of daily/weekly/monthly/yearly energy. Then we have the mentioned choice.
It is also my observation, that we don't always realize the total expenditure and where exactly does it go. How much of that energy is taken by what we do over the day? It's not easy to track, since we are talking about psychic energy, not physical. If you are out of physical energy, you muscles can not move. If you are out of psychic energy, you thoughts can not move and you are left with your default state. Which may happen to be... Depression. Or apathy. Depending on how you were brought up and how much of that sweet care you've received.
Meditation and physical excersize may (and will) help you change the default state and give you a solid ground for your life. But. If you find energy for meditation and excercize. If you struggle to find it, then maybe you have already exchanged that energy for something else. Maybe something you don't actually need?
Maybe. Just maybe, it so happened that you'd been shown ways to trade your energy, that are far away from being optimal or even useful to you? It is not your fault, but it is now your responsibility to notice this kind of thing, since you do already own your life, even if you do not fully accept this fact yet.

I don't know when this TEDx took place, but I very much thank you Shifu Shi Heng Yi for talking to my country fellows.
We already forget what a poet from Transylvania wrote, in the 19 century: George Cosbuc: "viata asta-i luptã grea, Sã aibã tot pe neluptat cei lasi at vrea."
On the other hand, we knew our ancestors, Dacians, were good fighters. As well as the Roman legions, they had much physical activity.
Many Dacians were enrolled in the Roman legions, or were forced to enrol, after the death of Decebal (he wasn't depressed, but only aware of his future "possibilities", "chances", and took the chance to die as a free King).
Today many young Romanian males enrol in the "Légion etrangère". This is hard to succeed, but if one is successful they can learn many useful things. Every "legionnaire" can relate on his training and his fellows, as the "Seals" in American army.
In the Spartan army, the shield was very important, not only to protect oneself, but especially to protect one's fellows fighters.
"Each one for himself and God for all" is the nowadays Motto. (The 3 Musketeers were merely saying one for all and all for one, but this is what it was).
However, the strength from each of us can help the collective! A Romanian say is: "Omul sfinteste locul". We must remember it!
"Ubi bene ibi Patria!" But "Fie pâinea cât de rea, tot mai bunã-i când o stiu din tzara mea".
Wherever we are living, we always should consider to make proud our parents and ancestors.
Respecting ourselves, doing the best possible in our workplace and life, will force the respect of others.
I know what you'll answer: "westerners are trying and succeeding to exploit us. Yes. I live this every day. But I'll never forget where I am from, respect the laws and try to do the best, even if it really hurts. And always saying proudly that I am from my country, but living among a "sneaky", "unfriendly" population. The entering the francofolie and eurounion made people run away, because "the power" was "obliged" to "sold" everybody's job for nothing. Don't sold your soul in addition to that, like Faust!
"Every country has the history it deserves" one said (don't remember who!). Don't blame the Russians, every country in Europe had "the chance" to confront with its powerful or less powerful neighbours! But many, working hard, overcome the difficulties and become successful. Perhaps their kings were less selfish and more trustworthy. Some become powerful by being sneaky, I am thinking about some still powerful colonial countries (guess which are they?).
"Fortuna audaciis adjuvant!" (the chance is helping the brave ones!)
Physical activity and knowing oneself is the best way to cope with the difficult moments in life! Shaolin philosophy is right.
    You are so wise, Shifu!

If you are unsure who to trust in these
    confusing times:
    Trust the courageous ones.
    Truth requires courage.
    Courage requires fortitude.
    Truth requires integrity.
    Cowards tell lies.
    Cowards support liars.
    Telling a lie is easy.
    Believing a lie is easy.
    Being compliant is easy.
    Staying silent is easy.
    Trusting without thinking is easy.

I've found that even speaking in riddles or asking questions rather than giving an answer can be a really great thing when giving advice.
