I am so glad I came across your blogs Derrick, I have a Australian 1960 FB Holden which Cosmetically painted about 15 years ago, but they did not touch the mechanic which they should of, I am going to get the body work done by someone who does body work and me and a friend will do some of the mechanics.

Kevin (and Ryan Shand) were my favorite hosts on the powernation shows. They did some fantastic projects and by far the best tips for people doing it at home (or dreaming of doing).

@@paintucation please do! I can't say enough how you both gave my friends and I the confidence to just try something. My first body work and painting was done on some fenders that I found around my uncle's. I'm no paint pro (far from it unless you count fauxtina) but those lessons of putting in effort towards research and preparation lead to removing fear of failure. This was applied to all of life, not just vehicles. We definitely had lots of failures but they turned into learning experiences. Also, I'm a ford guy (mostly) and I will always love the Rolling Thunder Ranger.
      Thanks!

I am also glad I found his you tube channel, and yes I subscribed! Thanks Derick for doing this mashup of OG’s in the DYI industry! Good stuff buddy!

I've been watching car shows on TV and stuff for quite some time. It's usually the body and paint guy who goes completely nuts and quits. So it tells you what the hardest job is in a resto shop. These guys gotta be appreciated and compensated.

It's always amazing to see the amount of work that goes into each episode of VGG and imagine just how much extra effort outside of what we see is necessary! Having driven my share of well-worn vehicles, thinking of what it'd take to restore or upgrade any of them is reflected through what I see here--I'd want to make sure to protect those hundreds of hours of effort!

As much as a guy loves to watch mechanicals and troubleshooting I am always enthralled and entertained by auto body work. This is pure mastery and artistry, it makes a guy want to learn yet I still find it to be very intimidating. I am thinking I need to drop another 20 entries. Could a guy be so lucky??? Somebody is going to be so happy.

Thank you, Kevin and Derek, for all that you guys do!!!
