The amount of time this guy puts in is insane. I speak for everyone when I say “thank you Derek for entertaining us”
I'm sure he's very well compensated lol
I don't know how Derek does it. I couldn't keep up with him.
Ten Fold Sir! !!!
Indeed 🤠🤘♥️
Hear hear!! Awesome video put together by a couple dudes who love their work. Now,, all of us realize this would be at least a $10,000 job for us IF we were to take our rig in for a job like we just watched. Thank you Kevin and Derek for all the insider tips each of you shared with VGG's fans 🙂
Always heartwarming to see how much Bentley loves helping out Dad
Heck of a worker. Probably forgot more than I'll ever know😂
No 54:15 lll
He has his own channel. Little Grip Garage.

With the doo-dabs.
Kevin Tetz is a legend. When I was younger I would set my alarm clock on Sunday mornings just to watch him on "Trucks". Him Stacey David and the rest of the crew. Thank you Derek for having him on the show. Kevin's passion is infectious!
Ditto on everything you said.
I was the same way. So many great builds were done. My very first favorite was the S10 X-treme with the V8 Swap.
You can tell just by his demeaner that he's so comfortable Infront of the camera.
Ditto

Hands down the best episode you have ever produced, Derek. Kevin makes me think I could do this - he is a good teacher. Thanks!
Kevin is such a wealth of knowledge when it comes to explaining tip and tricks.
100%. Kevin is the fckn man!
Yeah you can tell he is exploding with experience he wants to share ❤
100% all of the above!
he will forget more about body and paint than I will ever know.
Thank you sir!!!
Kevin is the ultimate teacher. Continually showing the most efficient way to get the job done.
He's great!
For myself i take a bit of explaining to understand something more than others sometimes but Kevin puts things in a way thats simple, clear and understandable
Who's Kevin?
@@timfoote2874😂
@@timfoote2874 I'm the short guy following Derek around. LOL!
Kevin has been teaching people for years. Love that guy
I really enjoy how you integrate Bentley/family into your work. You don't berate him or talk down to him, you educate him and teach him the easiest, best way to do things. I like how you ask him to do something and give him the info he needs to get the job done, goes a long way for relations between dad and son....you are definitely doing something right! Thanks for sharing Derek!
The relationships that Derek has made over the years are so great. Being able to bring Kevin in on this project is just too cool!
Derek, Kevin is gold! You need this guy on the channel more often.
Professor Kevin is gold, with infinite details to do a master class.
The truck looks Mega, you and Kevin have knocked it out of the park
Kevin seems so eager to share all his tips and tricks! He really seems like a good dude. Love it!
I've been watching Kevin for years and he always seems to have an endless amount of enthusiasm and energy on camera.
Same here!
What is his UA-cam channel?
David it's Paintucation by Kevin Tetz
I have too but now I can't remember what shows... Can you please tell me it is driving me nutz.
@@paintucation Cool. Found you and subscribed to check out more of your content.
Bentley is a good kid and seems to love working on stuff, I genuinely enjoy watching your son help you.
Love how your youngest human is always helping you!!!!
Nice to see Kevin pop up on the channel. I used to watch him on Trucks and I always enjoyed his work. He really knows what he's doing when it comes to bodywork.
Your little man makes me smile, what a great kid👍
It’s crazy how far you go to make something nice for someone else, considering that you generally do the minimum for yourself. You’ve gotta great heart. Whoever wins this will be blessed
Thanks 👍
This is by far one of the best videos you've made to date! I enjoyed watching and listening to you and Kevin paint the truck. I haven't seen anything from him, and loved him on Trucks! This type of video has really set the bar at such a high level. Simple, entertaining, and educational. I just watched an hour and a half video, and could have watched more. Thank you, Derek.
Wow, thanks!
I agree. Very well done and I learnt me sumtin with the tape pour trick.
I'd have to agree, this was fantastic.
Truly old school. By far the best car channel on UA-cam.
Kevin has been such a treat telling us the ins and outs of mixing, sanding, and painting. Derek learned a lot working these long hours to get this F100 giveaway truck a good paint job. Thanks Kevin and Derek for this good video!
I'm 10 minutes in and not only respect your mechanical skills... you are an amazing dad. God bless you sir! Amazing example for our future generation.
Same here. 10 mins in and had to stop and give praise to Derek for his outstanding parenting!!!!♥️♥️♥️ Actually just checked and I'm only 7m 19secs in LOL

Just can’t help myself, he’s just so Damned good @it
Kevin is a wealth of Knowledge, Bottle’s My Mind!
Kevin is a guy that when he speaks its instantly inspiring. He is so up beat and positive and when he says "You can do this" he is not pulling your chain. You really can do this. Its patience and not being afraid to dig deeper and have confidence in accomplishing the task at hand. Don't be afraid to try . You might just surprise yourself. I can attest to that personally. Thanks for all the inspiration!
I really appreciate you putting that much work into my truck. You guys are the best.
Derek. Please use safety glasses and hearing protection in all videos. You are inspiration to many young fellas and they do as you do. Thanks.
"Laying down the paint is a reward for good bodywork" - that is incredible advice and exactly the way you need to approach it. When someone really really knows their stuff, the simple one liners are worth their weight in gold.
Alot of knowledge and experience layered in one line. Quotes like that from people who take pride and care in their work, priceless.
The paint is worth nothing without a good body guy Period!!
@@bobwright992 Correct sir!!! it's Literally a lense looking into what's underneath it... Thanks for watching!
My daughter loves the onesies I got from the VVG STORE. She is having twins in August. We love watching VICE GRIP GARAGE. Making TV GREAT AGAIN!!
I wonder if they have 'em in my size.
Omg Derek…. That is beautiful … my favourite years for ford trucks. Absolutely awesome..
Ah man seeing Kevin brings back many sunday morning memories watching trucks, rolling thunder was such an awesome build to watch.
I've always thought Kevin was a hell of a mechanic/body man. I loved watching him on Trucks back in the day. I'm glad you two have come together and fostered a great friendship.
I too enjoyed watching him on Trucks. Feel like I've been watching him since I was a kid
@@blake8297 You guys humble me..... aaaand... I feel old! LOL! Kidding, and thanks for watching!
Kevin’s skills are amazing. A great educator.
The boys are growing so fast and tall. It’s good he’s learning all of what you’re teaching him about fixing things on vehicle’s.They’ll never get stranded.
Nearly half a million views, and ALL of us want this truck. Beeeyooootiful guys, SO so cool. I will probably watch this video twice for all of the bondo tips - HUGELY helpful!
I am thrilled when I see Bentley and Bradley helping Derek with his projects. He is such a patient and encouraging dad and it is gratifying to see them (especially Bentley) soaking everything in. That’s the real value of these projects - spending time with the next generation and passing along values and life lessons.
Amen 🙏 I hope his boys know how much they are learning and lucky to have their parents
Don't forget Bailey!
I’ve been watching Kevin for years, decades actually, and he never ceases to amaze me. He is brilliant and extremely talented yet makes everything very understandable for the novice.
Great video guys! I greatly appreciate all the points and learning information that are in it. You guys should do more together!!!
Two legends working together on a giveaway truck, God bless you both, so much good info.
Bentley is workin' on a ponytail! A ponytail is a mullet that MADE IT! 😊
mine made it, quit cutting it at the end of 2019
2016 here. A yearly trim helps.
Just starting mine after 44years.
Joe Dirt would approve of these comments being a gearhead and such. LoL
@@GotVBoostAs long as you're not bald on top! Nothing looks more cargo-van-by-a-school than a bald guy with a pony tail! 🤣
That truck is going to look good in my driveway 😁
I thought about skipping this one. You know what they say about watching paint dry... But Kevin is paint wizard, and a great educator! A true master craftsman at work.
This is absolutely awesome, it was so nice of Kevin to go the extra mile and do the extra special paint job on this truck. Whoever wins this will be a very lucky person indeed! Keep up the excellent work and stay safe!
That kid is very lucky to have an amazing dad like you! Not only you're an amazing mechanic but a good humor kind person and he's going to be just like you!
Was kevin his first son?
@MakeHotRoddingGreatAgain Did you not watch the video from the beginning?
That paint suit makes a difference over the years. For how long kevin has been spraying paint, he is the healthiest and happiest painter Ive seen.
All the painters I know are a bit off. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with them but, something is definitely not right. Lol
@@mikenonameneeded3485I don't know if it is the fumes or finding small imperfections/runs/specks in your nearly finished paint job thousand of times, but something seems to gently sand down the layer of sanity over a guy's brain over the years.
@@quixototalisa lot of painters I've worked alongside think they don't need proper ppe. Getting high off the paint, clear coat, acetone, etc fumes will mess you up over the years.
@@-_JayR_- I guess dudes that work on quartz countertops are dying from silicosys. Saw a video where they were getting lung transplants, didn't even know that was a thing. Did more research and basically yeah your lungs are something you really shouldn't play around with.
Which sucks because I am lazy as hell, but you REALLY REALLY don't want to be inhaling all the shit we do....
Man Kevin is a super awesome guy. I’ve been watching him since I was a kid…😂 He really loves his work.
I love Kevin, almost as much as Derek. U guys are entertaining and awesome motivators and teachers.
I'm not a brand guy. I am a truck guy. That old work horse is the pride of the show. You and Kevin should be proud of what was accomplished in such a short period of time.
Kevin is brilliant! Didn’t know that there was so much tech ( chemistry) involved in paint.
I was just gonna comment the passion he has for body work is refreshing
Paint is nothing BUT chemicals, dozens of them!
Beautifully done Derek, yourself and Kevin did a fantastic job. Thank you for bringing us along! What a peach!
Never really knew how much work went into painting a truck. The color is classic/perfect!! Beautiful job Derek and Kevin!! Congrats to the winner of this beautiful truck!
The painting episodes never disappoint
Bently's, the man! He, understands his dad's sarcasm, so well! Plus, he's a knowledgeable fella.
And it's always cute when he says "Yep!"
@@JeffKopis Heard him say, "Bring the Thunder!", one time!😂
Kevin is such an amazing guy, always enjoyed watching him as well.
You're the MAN Bentley! Great job. Just like dad. Proud of you young man.
Kevin Tetz! Getting the big names down to the barn! A feller is making it big! NICE!
Kevin is and has been on of the legends of the automotive world. The man literally is a wealth of talent
Gotta say this is the most I've learned from a single UA-cam video in a long time 👊
These trucks are such a testament of time. So happy another one was saved.
Bentley always behaves like an outstanding young man! Well done Derek and Jessica!
Can’t tell a guy how much I love watching you and Kevin together! Kevin has been one of my favorite car guys/tv fellers! So much nostalgia of hearing his voice watching Trucks on the weekends. Perfect combo watching you guys thrash on a truck together!
Thank you Derek and Kevin, this is awesome!
Been watching Kevin do paint and body since I was barely old enough to bathe myself 😅 it’s awesome to see my favorites working together
Kevin's enthusiasm is contagious! The ole Ford is coming along nicely.
I,v been painting for almost 40 years...Some of my best paint jobs I did right out side..Love this one...Right up my ally..Thanks Brother car guy...VERY NICE JOB INDEED..💯👍
Very nice spelling indeed! 😉

That was amazing to watch. That Ford is a solid survivor and hopefully has just been given another 50-plus years of life.
I like Kevin , genuine hard working knowledgeable guy and funny.
🎉🎉🎉Dad is just getting way to much enjoyment out of Bentley's struggles with the rust and dirt shower!!!! Nothing like it hey Dad!!!! Reminds me of Jesse and myself. Jesse is my 15yo son who wrenches with me !!! Keep the LOVE flowing forever. God bless you and yours Sir!🇨🇦♥️♥️♥️💯👍😎🇺🇸
The little human is really gettin good at the talking on the video. A lot of pressure for a little fella and I am overjoyed seeing ya working as father son on the projects. Lucky to have what ya got there Derek
The impact driver was handling him like a pro. 😂
But seriously, he's going to be a force to be reckoned with eventually.
I love what you have done to this truck. Derek, I love everything about this channel. The way you involve your family is inspiring. More dads need to do the same with all of the little humans they are responsible for. I’ve always loved watching Kevin and I try to learn from him every time I watch. That said, doesn’t Kevin look like Lord Dark Helmet? Especially standing next to Derek when he is mixing paint.
When I saw the finished truck episode I had no idea you were able to get Kevin to paint for you. What a score! You got the Rembrandt of auto painters.
Kevin is cool...he's a good guy, he's a teacher, he's passionate about what he does, he can be just a semi-picky, wants-it-right-enough car body and paint man depending on the project and the work needed...Kevin is the perfect combination kind of guy a feller (or fellette) could and wants to hang out with, learn from and do great car stuff with.
Thanks man! :)
Just finished the stay tuned one and this popped up. Happy Friday Derek.
Happy Friday
Same same..... almost like they timed it out that way.....
Please do this to Betty White. Love you guys!
I watched Stay Tuned with Tony, Then Paintucation with Kevin, and now Derek and Bentley. Friday night is party night with Derek.
Now after i finish this video I’m going to have to jump over and catch stay tuned
Thanks for all you do sir. Love seeing you teach your son to be a man. Also, make sure to take the time for yourself and your family to stay grounded and healthy. We need people like you and your content long term.
I learned more about body work in less than two hours than I did in my previous 50 years. Very informative.
I'm 38. Came up watching Kevin. Really cool to see you guys elbow to elbow on this rig. The F100 is going to be very nice.
Kevin is great teacher. He tells why things happen, why to do things and not just "do it this way".
I have never been ok with a "because i said so" way of "teaching". I appreciate the people that take the time to explain why something is or why it happens. I want to know those things.
Really interesting watching Kevin working his magic. Thanks Derek 👍
UA-cam has an unlike and a like button, But now they need to add a love button. I learned a lot! Thank you Derek and Kevin for taking the time to show this. Good luck to whoever wins this truck. Now I have to go out in my garage with a sharpie and write on the nova. I bet I’ll watch this video10 times. Thanks for the inspiration. ❤
Wow! I’m speechless! What a professional Kevin is. Gifted individual!
Illl be dipped. Im watching kevin, taking me back to my teenager days. And vice grip. Feels like a saturday morning . This is awesome

I've learned so much from this video! This is definitely a keeper.
Kevin's work is truly AMAZING!
Derek, your work shows how you care to make it right!
Can't wait to see the next video!
Best episode ever. I learned so much about paintwork. Kevin is phenomenal, I would be afraid to touch that truck.
Ive watched kevin since i was a teenager, im 43 now. Lol. He knows his bady work, for sure
What a way to end the Night. Thanks so much.
That was Awesome ! Paint & Body Maestro!
Over an Hour and I soaked up Every Second of it !
Man, props to Kevin and his time. Great guy!
Kevin is the ultimate body man, watched him on TV for years. Derek and he make a great team, informative and entertaining.
I forgot what a pleasure it is to watch and listen to Kevin work. He is excellent at communicating his technique so that the layman can understand and follow along! I am also glad I found his you tube channel, and yes I subscribed! Thanks Derick for doing this mashup of OG’s in the DYI industry! Good stuff buddy!
100% I remember watching all his crazy builds on tv in the 2000’s. This episode took me right back to those days.
Kevin is a real easy going guy with a great sense of humor spreading his knowledge.
Kevin is so positive and informative. You can really tell you guys enjoy each others company! Truck is looking great. I hope I win it!
Just got done watching LGG (Honda Fortrax video) , so close to 100K subs!!! Your videos are great and encourage people to work on their own stuff!
Makes me so happy to see Derek and Kevin working together on this project! What a pleasant surprise! I’m a big fan of both you guys!! Really great episode!! Great job! Got my ticket to win it. This truck is gonna be great, can’t wait to see the finally, finale, fineally, finished beauty!
One of the few men who gives back to the viewers and subscribers!! Thank you for giving back!!
Wonderful opportunity to watch you and Kevin make magic on this F100. Great Job Guys!
Kevin, the OG paint whisperer. He is awesome.
Keven is a beast love how he works and his dedication to the craft it unmatched and the fact that he is willing to teach is amazing think you Genteman for the work you do
Kevin (and Ryan Shand) were my favorite hosts on the powernation shows. They did some fantastic projects and by far the best tips for people doing it at home (or dreaming of doing).
It's an honor the hear that... thanks so much! I'll pass that on to Ryan, we stay in touch. :)
@@paintucation please do! I can't say enough how you both gave my friends and I the confidence to just try something. My first body work and painting was done on some fenders that I found around my uncle's. I'm no paint pro (far from it unless you count fauxtina) but those lessons of putting in effort towards research and preparation lead to removing fear of failure. This was applied to all of life, not just vehicles. We definitely had lots of failures but they turned into learning experiences. Also, I'm a ford guy (mostly) and I will always love the Rolling Thunder Ranger.
Thanks!
I always liked watching Kevin the master of bodywork!
I've got my grandpa's 77' F100 custom here in Huntsville, AL. He bought it new with 25 miles in 78' at Ken Hilton in Birmingham, AL. It's pretty cool our trucks came from the same place. My grandpa's truck still has the factory 302 with the 3 on the tree. Came with .273 rear gear. My dad and uncle used it as a tow rig pulling the drag cars from the 80's to late 90's until we upgraded to an enclosed trailer with a camper. It's like a time capsule, horse torque and tow mods from the late 70's to the early 00's. When it was a tow rig they had a different rear gear swapped into it. I put the original .273 back in and it'll run a nice 100mph at a cool 3,250 rpm 😂. I love these old trucks, we're chevy racers and chevy people with the last name Ford, but these old Fords are awesome 👌.
That bed corner is incredible!! Watched Kevin for years and always admired his skills and teachings.
Absolutely love that color. Kevin is a master at his craft, and it shows.
So awesome seeing a guy I spend so much time watching now working with a guy I spent so much time watching as a kid.
He is so hyper. I bet he was so much fun to work with. I have worked with guys like him they make the day so much fun.
