Ha dalton put you in there, as a 15 year old with my father being to broke for cars and him not having a great interest in working on them, we don’t have anything, so using a fake marketplace account and talking to people for 120 bucks I have a low mile (now completely disassembled and stored at my friends house) 69 302 which came with an edelbrock 289 preformer, and when I get a job and get later into high school I’ve looked at even solid body 70 mustangs (I like 70s) that were 6 cyls and sadly not fastbacks (70 fastbacks look better) but I could talk pricing down, and do some experienceless “bodywork” and “paint” so it looks “nice” then stroke my 302, good parts, can still just drive it, get a t5, upgrades and it will handle the 347, get some qa1 parts, maybe change the front brakes to disk if they aren’t already, just make my own exhaust, interior is whatever, aftermarket hood maybe later on, like of of the shaker ones, and for that, a fun, 500hp high revving, high speeds, cruising, comfy, good lookin 70 stang will cost 20k, which I know is a lot but at the same time it’s a 500hp high revving reliable thing that looks good (yes I know I didn’t include rims or tires for a reason) dalton is right problem is is everything cost money to be great, but not everything costs money to be worth it, some things cost effort

Yes that would be cool….as i myself am battling a ‘67 c code coupe that my teenage son was very convinced he needed, his to was that same pastel powder blue color originally but my childhood friend that we got the car from had it re-sprayed back in the 90’s….its a cortez silver with very very dark blue rally stripes (damn near black, until under bright light or direct sun)….i thought they were black for years until a few weeks ago when i was washing it in the august sun light and i seen a mettalic sparkle, thats when i brought out a very large halogen style hand held flood light and discovered it was a very dark deep mettalic blue!!!!…..we are currently building a late 90’s roller cam 302 out of an Explorer to replace the tired 289….were gonna put a mild trickflow stage 2 cam and a set of aluminum heads along with higher compression pistons….shooting for 10.25:1 compression, already converted the 289 to efi and it will be swapped onto the 302 when it goes in, just gotta pick up a 2500/3000 rpm stall convertor for the c4 trans that was just completely rebuilt literally less than a month ago…..its coming together slowly but surely!!!
I just bought a 66 mustang roller off Marketplace last weekend for $200.00 . Was a 289 car originally. Thinking about a putting a 351 in it. Looking forward to getting it back on the road and enjoying it.

This is incorrect. If you are going to drive a car that you just purchased and it doesn't have a plate on it, you have to get a temp tag. Just because people do this every day does not make it legal.
Makes me wish I still had my 67 GTA that was the same color of frost turquoise. It was in better shape than your 68, but not by too much. Owned it more than 20 years and thought it was my keeper, but tough times and financial desperation forced me to sell. Got $3000 for it back in 2013. Sad thing is the last 5 years I owned it, I didn't drive it. It just sat in the garage because I wanted to restore it to perfection. I appreciate Dalton's wisdom about just getting stuff running so you can enjoy it while you work on it. Thing is, it ran good with a nice built 302 before I parked it. I'd love to have it back and drive it, primer spots, tired interior and all. Thanks for the inspiration and memories Dalton.
*what a bonus surprise to have this video pop up early on a Wednesday. This is my favourite car channel by far. I can't see Dalton ever changing like some of the bigger creator's and becoming all commercialised. I do think he deserves a new shop though, he's definitely earned it❤*
Agree with that! A shop that could help him perform a little less hackery! Nice hoist, clean floor and walls and nice lights so he can spray a car without mosquitos and dust landing on it. Perhaps a second hand exhaust pipe machine as well!
Thank you for rescuing that little girl! I'm a mustang guy myself, I own 3 and now I think i need a 1967 / 1968 ... So happy to see how much you enjoyed that drive. Heartwarming! thank you sir! And please work on it more. It needs some love.
Yup, it's a keeper and it has soul. You gotta love the UA-cam community when Rick shows up with the seats you needed...lots of good karma goin' on with the Mustang!
More vids of a 68 Mustang ??? Hell yes. Not that much wrong that it could be awesome with some Daltoness done to it. Complete new wiring harness gets my vote for #1 fix. Keep em coming buddy, we love ya here in Oregon !!!
Yep the cheap Painless hot rod harness would be perfect for it used one for a Willy's jeep that my uncle put a 2015 vortech 4.3 in with a micro squirt worked out awesome and got everything working with a standalone for less than 800 bucks
I love it Dalton. Definitely a keeper, It’s an iconic piece of history. It’s worth fixing up properly. What a guy Steve is, not a big talker but genuine guy. I subbed to his channel.
What a great car. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it. And, I can't believe you just completed this entire project without using a single self-tapper.
Yes i would like to see more of the Mustang. I would also like to see a full mild custom restoration , (don.t forget the Chrome wheels), of everything in your yard! Love the Channel, best wishes to all.
One of my favourite cars of all time ever. I'm sorely jealous. Someone's put a good chunk of money into that car and it's got the important parts to make a really awesome car. This'll be a sick build. Wiring loom, interior, body and paint, 9-inch rear in it with a LSD third-member, a few odds and ends. I mean you could even go crazy and fix the brakes too... Incidentally I'm in the UK, I had bad acid reflux at 4:30am and woke up needing to sit up for a while... this provided a perfect opportunity to vibe for a bit. Thanks.
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! - at 1:29:50 you start the car cold with a carb with no choke and pat the throttle to get it warmed up - LIKE A PRO WITH COMMON SENSE. I love getting to be that guy in the parking lot goosing it because "it's got a race carb"..

nice purchase Dalton! Kudos for him helping you out so much, good friends are hard to find these days! Thanks for your hard work to get her running and do this video for us all!
This is a short one, as I am watching from my phone in hospital. You SOB! That is my lottery/dream car Dalton. A 68 with a 302, but with a manual gearbox. Not too picky on the color (they all look good) but a dark blue would be my first choice. Damn, out of all the cars you have, this one is the most deserving of some love. I'd like to see you show your skills in full on getting this one all nice and shiny (dark blue please, with a manual). That of course excludes the Torino, with that being mine rather than your, lol. Great trip, and a beautiful, awesome, fantastic, good car. Neil :=]
As someone who grew up in the South but lived in the high desert of NV for a decade or so, there's just something about it you can't get away from. I'm back in the South again, but miss those desert sunsets all the time. Maybe when JD is 18 relocating to the desert is something you all can do.
@@frigglebiscuit7484 exactly it. It is so open, no humidity, no bugs, and the most beautiful sunsets almost every single night. I love the South with everything, but still miss that wide open freedom out West. Its relative location to CA is why I could never live out there again, because no matter where you go it's been too California'd for it to be worth it.
@@seedmoreuser hey . I saw where your guys get bored painting planes … I’m close to an old airport and thinking about buying a plane … and fixing it up . Where are you guys located ?
This was a great video. You slowly turned the engine over by hand while running the oil pump, exactly the right thing to do, will lube things as well as disassembly and lubing individual parts. Pinion seal was a smart move! I built a '65 convertible for my son, it was my wifes car and she let us have at it. That was a fun project, we restomoded it, it is a looker and it has giddy up and go a plenty.
I think the line is "Better is the enemy of good enough." I believe it was the philosophy of the Soviets during The Great Patriotic War when it came to weapon production.
I had a 67 Mustang in high school. It was 1974, yeah I'm an old fart. It ran like shit, burned 2 or 3 quarts of oil per week but I couldn't kill that 289. I scraped up enough money to rebuild it in high school auto shop. In 1975 after graduation I joined the USAF and drove it from California to Chanute AFB in Rantuol, Illinois for tech school, then back to Cali to my assignment. No, I don't live in "Californication" anymore but those great memories in that Mustang live on!
I lived in calif in the 70's and drove a 71 Mustang. I still miss that 302 every day. Two of my older brothers also had Mustangs, a 68 quarter back and 69 coupe. The quarter back was a 390 and a beast.
Definitely more on the Stang. You've been on the look out for one for a bit and she deserves some clean up and TLC. In light of the choice of music for the initial test drive I think this is appropriate. I love the smell of exhaust in the morning, it smells like victory.
I love old ford cars and I definitely want to see it get built, we need more Fords on UA-cam it's all turned to GM builds. Keep up the great work man and stay safe and stay blessed
I once owned a '67 Falcon Futura with a 289 fire engine red... She was a beauty... I cried when it got rear ended and was totaled, so I went and asked my parents if they wern't needing my '64 four door fleet 6 cylinder 3 on the tree Falcon... Most dependable thing I had ever owned which I bought for $400 from a neighbor as my first car in 1975. My parents had it during my time in the USAF.
Hello, This is a great car. One you must fix on the channel. I own a 1968 coupe with a 390😊. Lots of fun to drive, and yes its carburated. As for your steering, check the rag joint. Cheap easy fix. Love the rims.
Looks like a great Mustang score!! I miss the old style truck stops with the diners in them. You always knew which ones had the best food because they had 100's of trucks parked there. Thanks for showing us the road trip should be an adventure.
I love the road trippy videos - especially when the mountainy / deserty states are involved! Excellent work on that professional rear window installation at Lowes! PS - you should watch out - some suspicious person in a white Chevy SUV was following you the whole way home 😛
Definitely can't wait to see more of this one! It looks like it did pretty good on its journey home for the most part. No fun driving without heat, been there, done that a few times.
I don’t know if it just me but it kinda looks like it is still riding nose high like if it didn’t have an engine. 🤔🤷♂️ Nice car though, look forward to seeing what you do with it.
Dalton another good video from PBG hope to see more of this car on the channel, I had to drop my membership do to personal differences on a live you had but I am still watching the content and still subscribed to the channel.
For the most accurate viewing experience, I recommend watching while not have heat in your house. Bonus points if the bathroom doesn't have a door, and a window sized hole in the outside wall.
Yes, the sunset's and sunrises are beautiful in AZ! I lived in Phoenix for 20 years until the temp hit 126 degrees. Your videos are getting better every time. Keep up the great work to PBG!!!
OK I'll share my car story since you shared the Brave Little Toaster story. In the movie Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang, (which I saw as a kid in 1968) the moment Dick Van Dyke opens the barn and pushes out the finished car, gives me goose bumps. It made me want to turn junk cars into things of beauty. Great rescue. Nice car. You're lucky to be able to do what you do. Thanks!
Great job Dalton, I would really like to see more of this Majestic Mustang in your future episodes Keep up the great work and I'll be looking forward to seeing your next adventure
The song that played when Dalton backed the car out of the garage reminded me of the episode of Roadkill where Mike and David smoked out a highway with transmission fluid in general mayhem!! Definetly need to see more of this mustang!😂😂😎😎
I'd definitely invest in new (cheap Chinese at least) wiring harnesses. There HAS to be some point where we draw the line on the shade tree shi, ya know? Burning it to the ground, or the headlights not working or the brakes that fail just isn't worth it. Skimp on the paint-not peoples safety~
Heater fyi for future trips! Truck stops have inexpensive ($19.95) plug in heaters! Lost a heater core on my way home in the Winter. Hit a "Loves" truck stop & bought 2 (one for my feet & 1 for the windshield) & a cigarette lighter double pigtail. Cheaper than a tow truck
One of my favorite videos you’ve done on the channel! I can definitely relate to a lot of what you said about the mustang and cars in general. I love the channel and look forward to all your videos! Thank you for what you do!
Best channel out there ,no joke. Everyone is getting way too commercial, this shit is real and attainable builds like most people can do and afford, big love from Canada 🇨🇦, not sure about 67 torque boxes needed for the V8, on 65 need them installed if it was a inline 6 to a V8 , good job

That’s wild that both you and Mortske get pulled over for no tag!!!!!
At least Dalton didn't end up in jail. lol
It's because Mortske is a North Dakotan Like me lmao
Thanks Dalton. This is the perfect way to decompress after a long day of work
I love that you put the pup in the thumbnail
been building my 68 for the last 7 years, solid car when i car it. Its a great car, never broke down on me. A pita to get parts for it in Hawaii tho
Thanks.
Yes, another edition of PNG, the best show on the tube ....
Pole Nrab Garage?
Barn
🤔🤔
For sure one of your best videos yet!
Dalton no longer says, "THE JAAAAAG." But how about "THE STAAAAANG." ? haha..
Thanks to PBG, my toolbox is equipped with Twisted Teas and American Spirits.
nice purchase Dalton!
Neil :=]
If it's you in the hospital I hope you get well soon brother!
@@PoleBarnGarage Hi Dalton. No, not me unfortunately. My Dad still. He is on the mend, but it has been slow going.
Cheers,
Neil :=]
I really love the abandoned parts of the cuds as well. You're not weird it's got a story to tell and that's intriguing in it's own.
Yes, definitely give her some love on the channel.
As someone who grew up in the South but lived in the high desert of NV for a decade or so, there's just something about it you can't get away from. I'm back in the South again, but miss those desert sunsets all the time. Maybe when JD is 18 relocating to the desert is something you all can do.
i live in south alabama, where you cant see 100 yards or more because of trees. something about those wide open places just makes your mind wander.
I'd love to see it in that wicked paint job from the photo. Probably a bit much for a daily but heck, you only live once and burn oil daily.
Dad could do it again, that's beyond my ability for sure though. I remember it took him 2 entire days to mask the flames, and another 2 days to paint
@@PoleBarnGarage your dad is a legend. Two days of masking is insane, my guys get bored of masking in ten minutes when repainting planes. Lol.
@@seedmoreuser hey . I saw where your guys get bored painting planes … I’m close to an old airport and thinking about buying a plane … and fixing it up . Where are you guys located ?
Oh wow, didn't expect to hear a reference to the Brave Little Toaster today. I'd love to see more of this car
100% impressive build on the Mustang. This is how the hobby is intended ! Work with what you have, troubleshoot, elbow grease & it's rewarding
“This is why PERFECTION is the enemy of GOOD ENOUGH.”
-Dalton PBG
I’m stealing that quote - That is an EXCELLENT philosophy!
I think the line is "Better is the enemy of good enough." I believe it was the philosophy of the Soviets during The Great Patriotic War when it came to weapon production.
Add the booster and matching master cylinder for that disk brake front and it'll stop fantastic ! Nice job. Such a find
You know it made me happy to see that little kid joy on ur face driving that work of art, takecare of her and she will take care of you👍👍
Love it. I've got a 66 and the same mindset, don't want it perfect just want it driving.
I'd love to see you restore this little horse. She definitely is good enough and deserving of the full treatment.
I really like the new family member 😁. Great content 👍 guys thanks for sharing 😊.
Wow, what a nice old Stang! You lucked out on this one Dalton!
Need more Mustang!! Please and thank you!! Great car!
I'm so happy that you finally mic yourself correctly. As an old ex-broadcast engineer, your lack of audio quality really drove me up a wall.
I totally relate to the little toaster comment. I vividly remember watching that scene and feeling the same way. You're not alone Dalton!
Old buddy, you need a good pair of insulated coveralls for your winter treks. This car would be a great subject for future videos.
Rout 66 WAS the only road to drive in 1967. So Yes that car did drive that road, before you were born. Love this car. Thanks Dalton, good car...
I would love to see a restoration of that Mustang.
I would love to see more of the Mustang. Fix those seats, rear window (well maybe), heater, and windows go up & down and the other little things.
Listen UA-cam I should be able to hit the like button as many times as I want.
i live in Australia and im 100% serious if its 40 degrees i don't get out of bed, never mind doing all this stuff you yanks are built different
"You just got to grow a pair". Words to live by, Dalton.
Please build this, I'm not even a Ford guy, but that car deserves some love.
Def a build to continue with, I'm ready for the series. Excellent content as always, one of my go-to YT channels!
Definitely want to see you fix that mustang. It deserves some love.
Thanks!
Thanks!
👍 to Steve. Seems like the kind of friend a guy needs.
Really glad to have made a friend of him. He's legitimately talented
Great job Dalton, I would really like to see more of this Majestic Mustang in your future episodes
Keep up the great work and I'll be looking forward to seeing your next adventure
The song that played when Dalton backed the car out of the garage reminded me of the episode of Roadkill where Mike and David smoked out a highway with transmission fluid in general mayhem!! Definetly need to see more of this mustang!😂😂😎😎
Looking forward to following along with the Mustang, enjoyed seeing you getting it back on the road!
Absolutely show more of this car please! I love the paint on it, but would love to see the suspension, exhaust and interior worked over
If you do re wire with new harness I would love to see that
Thanks!
Had the same year stang back in HS. It was painted Harley Orange with a Black Stripe. Many trips to Anchorage , 4 1/2 hours away on Fridays so we could cruise “the strip”. Good old days 😂
Hell yes I am a mustang fanatic. Fix this baby up!
