Well, I don't consider myself a Christian but I was raised Catholic and I remember one thing:
"Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”
When the young man heard this, he went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth.
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” "
But that's nitpicking. I agree that wealth in itself isn't bad. But wealth gives you power and power can easily bring out the worst in you.

Most wealthy people I have met are really genuine and interesting people. Some of the nicest people I know are super generous and do what they do because they love to help people.

I may just feel that it’s the last baby step going to everyone ahead of schedule.
I have the my debts payed off, my $1000 saved up and my 3 to 6 months saved up on my baby steps.
Should I keep a work IRA and put more than 15% into it ( Currently I put 35% into it .) or should I pay my mortgage off and put 15% into my IRA. I have no other baby steps to cover. My mortgage is being paid off at a rate of 15 years on a 30 fixed with the 35 % going into my IRA . Also should I switch to a Roth IRA instead of a plain IRA. Please explain.

Money is neutral. It has no will of it's own so it cant be evil. But I do think money motivates and enables evil. Its easier to get if your evil. Its easier to keep when your evil.
So I think money as a concept corrupts people and motivates selfishness and greed. So money isn't evil it just makes it easy for people to become evil and a good why to give evil people power.
Money is a tool like Gun is a tool , you control you all right ,.
A knife is a tool because it has other uses besides maiming and killing. A gun is a weapon, its only intended use is to cause pain or threaten-it’s not a tool.
My husband and I were able to pay off 300k of debt in three years using Dave's principles. We are now on our way to being millionaires with a paid off house by the age of 35. We had to live on WAY less than we make but because we sacrificed for so long we are now able to give in more ways we could ever imagine! Timothy 5:8 “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”
It depends on how said wealth is obtained and what it's used for in my opinion.

Didn't Jesus say something about it is easier for a camel to pass threw the eye of a needle then a rich man to make it into heaven? Didn't Jesus also tell his followers to leave behind their possessions and families to follow him?
Na Na rich man is possibly more attached to his wealth and if you’re a believer then you will be expected to give and help people, basically
God knows how money may influence people to become greedy and uncharitable, their attitude towards money can affect their faith, compared to a less wealthy person one less thing they care about before becoming a believer. The more you accumulate the more difficult it is to part with it!
You love and worship the creator not the creation. Put God first and the rest will follow.

My grandmother said money was evil .We need money in this world . Money can be good or bad . You have to put God first , and have faith in God . It is sad that people make bad choice with money on how to spend it .
Agreed. I m managing god s asset to increase the rent based on inflation and the market. Thats why its not my bad for jacking up the prices.

Money by definition is a falsehood; the number of participants and their enjoyment of it make no difference.
All the fluffy words and current fortunes can neither nullify currency’s inherent evils, nor resist the inevitable crash built into economic systems.
Wealth and money are not the same thing. When most the “value” in your exchange medium is imaginary, the pain will be great on the day it is collected on.

This is why the Bible confuses me. It always contradicts itself. Could someone explain Mathew 19 : 24 “Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.?”......
Read a couple verses after that. The second half of that statement is that what is impossible with man is possible with God. The point is that anyone can get into the Kingdom of God through his son Jesus.
I always wanted to understand how is it that money don't corrupt people but expose who they are.... don't they corrupt as well?

This is basically about perspective. If you have it it's awesome. If you know people who do and you don't, then their character is "questionable".

Most young people don’t care about millionaires paying more in taxes. They care about the billionaire company’s, lobbying the gov and paying nothing. This is something both the right and left should agree.
Yet we still take their personal income tax, and why is it that you are pro theft?
Again not saying anything about their income taxes, but the fact that my personal company pays taxes and Walmart doesn’t because they are in the pockets of our government is not right.

When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
TLDR; money doesn't get you into heaven, Jesus does because he makes reconciliation with a Holy and perfect God possible - an otherwise impossible task.

Those who say money is evil have been brain washed to believe that. Money isn’t evil people are evil. So if you’re an evil person with money yes you’re capable of doing worse things vs someone who is good with money.
Doesnt the bible even say its harder for a rich person to get into heaven then a poor man, and when a wealthy follower of Jesus asked what he should do jesus said give all your money to the poor?
context is key. if money is your god then you won't love God. As a Christian it's our responsibility to both be benevolent and out of the bondages of debt. Scriptures also full of plenty of examples of wealthy individuals David and Solomon to name a couple.

Regardless of what political aspects one believes, because religion and politics don’t mix, if a family is poor and hard-working and believe in the morals of God or religious beliefs ( for we are a country of freedom of religion) then they should be treated financially equal as well.
Those who are not criminals and adults have the opportunity to vote. They should also be paid the same if they work hard.

Code One Films Because Dave is unapologetically Christian and most of his financial advice stems from biblical principles. In my opinion, it’s all practical advice, whether or not you believe in God. But he’s not trying to force his agenda on anyone. Those who are turned off by his religious slant can simply choose not to listen

Extreme levels of wealth is evil. Nobody should have billions of dollars but i agree that everyone should have about 10 million or at least try to have that
