- In this video Chinstrap and I show you how we lowered his 1981 C10 roughly 5 inches in the front and 7 in the back for only $120 and some simple hand tools. Ok, maybe the torch isn't a basic hand tool. The only thing we bought to lower it was a rear axle flip kit and shock extensions off eBay. In the front we cut 2 coils and the bump stops off using a torch. The pickup still needs shocks and some exhaust work but it has been aligned and drives very well.

I never could bring myself to wear Crocs. I'm pretty sure this is the video that brought me to your channel!
Same here! Ol Chin, he's special tho! You ain't rockin, until you're crocin and sockin!
Chinstrap is a braver man than I in crocs. I couldn't... But awesome video. And a good one too, just elbow grease and hard work. Well done.
He's very fashionable!
17minute slam your C10 video... Really would have thought more views then 10k. To hell with the algorithm I still enjoyed it.
How much long was the shaft when you used the center hole?
I have a flip kit for my 82 and shackle replacement for rear and lowering springs for the front along with a 454 to add weight. What else do you think id need?
Sounds nothing like the formula used in this video
I have a 79 K5 blazer and I want to attempt to do this. Do you think I should c-notch? I have a general idea but I’m not sure if I want to do it. It’s my daily so I don’t want to lose to much comfort, like there is any anyways, or risk anything.
We didn't notch this one and he's only touched the frame to it a couple times and that's been hitting big bumps or hauling loads with it. He's been using it as his daily all summer with no issues. You can always add a notch later. And you're not going to be hauling much in a Blazer I presume. Thanks for watching!
What no clip from Titanic after making the paint me like one of your French Girls to duff. LOL
You ever cut the front bump stocks?
Yup
@@MortskeRepair yep thats what imma have to do. I put some knuckles in it for now im sitting around a 4/6 with those in.
Without them easily a 6/6. But Im going tubulars anyways and coils. So i figured why not cut em lol
What size of tires do you have?
275 and 255/60
Any problems with the bat eating flip kit so far?
Nope
Did you remove the springs to cut them?
Yes
Looks great. I detect a Wisconsin accent.
Did you guys have issues with pinion angle?
Nope
they do make shims if you do
Cut 2 coils, did you have any issues after that ?
Nope, we've done several this way. Did another one on the video we released today.
@@MortskeRepair yes I did see it, great job, how many coils did you end up with on the blazer?
I have my gear ready just waiting on the snow to melt before I giver on my c10
@@oldschoolman6572 2
what size tires are on it?
255/60-15 in the front and 275/60-15 Cooper Cobras in the rear. All on factory GM 8" pickup rally wheels. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate that, just lowered mine and was having trouble finding the right tire size🙏
@@JulianFRosales Anytime!! These are just personal preference. We debated between a 245 and 255 on the front but the 275 is my go to on the rear. You could do a 295/50 as well but the sidewall isn't as appealing to me on those. If you need any more info give us a shout @ mortskerepair@gmail.com
Yeah I have 235/75/15 all around and those are way to big in the front, and I just did a 5/7 drop so its rubbing alot
@@JulianFRosales Yeah those are the tires that every old man likes to run! Haha! Wheels, tires and stance make or break the ride!
Ya got a link for the rear flip kit?
I think there's another comment that I posted the link. May be in the description as well. Or do a quick search on ebay for 73-87 flip kit. Thanks for watching!
Commenting my comment in the comments! This video is nearly old enough for a sammich
Much appreciated
What was the name of the
