Whether or not they were badly voice acted, what I love about The House Of The Dead 2's civilians is that they aren't just some extras you rescue for a higher score, they actually serve as the game's choice system and help you when they can.
Also are a requirement to get the good ending, I beliece the good ending required a minimum number of rescues, a score threshold and your continues to be a multiple of 2
In all my time having played (and then remembering the game since I wasn't able to play it for quite a few years), I never knew that you could save 7 others by letting that first guy, who's driving, die. You learn something new every day I suppose. Doesn't help that I don't own House of the Dead since it's only an Arcade machine... wish it wasn't. Oh well.
Oh! I have good news for you! The game is available on PC (there's also a parody version called typing of the dead), wii, Sega Dreamcast, and Xbox original
I swear I ain't tripping, I played this game multiple times so I became quite good at it As you exit the Headquarters, you're greeted by the people you saved and Amy and Harry right? Well in my case I think if you complete the game without spending any credits, you'll see Goldman as a zombie as you exit the Headquarters
Bruhyan Joseph You’ve got to get less than 80000 score and your score has to be divisible by 10. Using a continue I’m pretty sure gives you one point. However you can also go into original mode and give yourself more continues with the power ups. (Pretty sure they’re the coins with plus 2 or plus 10 etc), and use 10 of them, giving yourself 10 points, thus still making it divisible by 10.
Seeing zombie goldman is actually the bad ending... In the good ending Rogan is the one who meets you and tells you some crappy lines on life I guess lol The ending with the people is the neutral ending I suppose
I got that ending before when i was a kid, it was me trying to do 2 players by myself, james died and gary finished it off so i thought thats what you had to do to get zombie goldman
I remember seeing a fat one headbutt a scientist in the first one on the roof or upper floors outside. Didn't seem like a killer move but eh, germs probably ate at the guy.
Its possible to play the entire game as Gary instead of James, and the entire game has voice lines if you're just Gary, its really interesting and I recommend playing through the game to experience the difference between each solo run and the co-op run

Well, for the first game: First chapter: Save the 3rd one, get the chance to save either: 4 more or 3 more. Let the 3rd one die, get the change to rescue 4 more. Let the 3rd one die and then the 4th, get the chance to rescue 3 more. My childhood was based on 2 things at first, Counter-Strike and "The House of The Dead 1", I spend unlimited times in both 1 and 2 moving in every possible scenario, discovering all possible routes, saving all civilians with counting how many in total. I had big times by remembering how many to save, who to save, what death will affect the road and the numbers of rescue. I just hope for the Remake to be on pc as well!
In typing if the dead if you type all but one letter on a bob then reset and type again you can get it to the point where its just a pair of legs that are unable to attack anymore. They keep jumping at you but they can no longer do any damage.
Very interesting info, the “dialogue changes” also apply if you’re only playing as the second player. I have to admit Gary over James in some cutscenes, like Amy seems to care more about Gary than for James. Also what does the text say at 7:47?
I actually remember something odd happened in the first game with the two researchers trapped in a cell with a zombie, where I accidentally shot one of them, wasting my last life, then seeing the other one run through the wall.
Aside from its (weakpoint) companion, you can also defeat the Judgement boss by repeatedly attacking the headless giant. But same as Strength, it would take you a couple of continues to defeat it.
I was a fan of this series when I was grade 4 and played The house of the dead 3 in a local arcade. I had spent a lot of money on that machine I order to fill my name on the scoreboard. Then I started watching The house of the Dead games on the Internet. 2 years ago, my rich uncle from the US bought me a PS4 and my cousin inherited me the PS3 to go to university and at that time I was a fan of the Yakuza series (another great series from SEGA). I bought all of the house of the dead games and invite my friend to have a good memories together. And when I noticed that the lead director of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (developers of the Yakuza series) Toshihiro Nagoshi was in the staff of The House of The Dead, I was delighted. It’s good to see people still playing this like me!
And also, a minigame based on Yakuza: Dead Souls (a Yakuza third-person zombie shooting game) took the exact gameplay from the House of The Dead called “Kamuro of The Dead” you can play that game in Club Sega in Judgment (A Yakuza spin-off game.)
I remember one time when I fought the heirophant again in the second to last level, he tried backing into the hole he made in the bridge but somehow got stuck, so he was just endlessly backing towards the hole, mouth agape. Theres also dialogues when you play only Gary without James. Also you can shoot the first armored boss and will still do damage. Its just it wont make him flinch.
@@serioussilliness2064 If you focus only on the armor? Absolutely. You may as well be rich with alot of quarters if you are attempting to do that sort of challenge. The damage is very small comparing to doing damage on its weakpoint.

Have you tried cutting the arms of those zombies in 0:42? Gotta see how they attack if they lack their arms! Edit: I checked it myself a few days ago and it's the same: they also use body slam to attack you if you blow their arms off. Same applies for the lizards in chapter 4, if you blow their claws off; they use body slam.
In the arcade version of the house of the dead 1, shooting the upper part of a zombie sometimes results in a zombie attacking you with the torso or more like the spine.

I'm just really impressed with all the head shots this player made. Especially the zombies carrying weapons, as they like to shield their faces a lot.
He's using a power up that doubles the damage done. That's why he was able to shoot a David in the chest and one shot it.
