Goldman for me is a very interesting fellow ever since HotD 4, sure the dude's voice acting in 2 was and still very memeable, but Goldman has a lot of interesting implications for me since 4. We all know he "died" in HotD 2, but him knowing about James' death in 4 seems like he has either survived HotD 2 and is in hiding or had a way to foresee future events to a degree. My current headcanon of the guy is that he might have seen the future enough to know humanity fucks up so badly that he sets the events of HotD 2 and 4 in motion. Also, I wonder how James and Dan Taylor (HotD 3) are related. We know Ryan and James are bros, but we don't really have much info regarding their connection to Dan as he just dies at the end of HotD 3's chapter 0, and the dude is an off-screen badass considering both he and Thomas Rogan actually make it to the last area of HotD 3.
Basically seems to me Curian and Goldman both were brothers working on extinction of mankind, Even had their last surprises in hotd 3 n 4, and now this new guy in scarlet drawn is their father with this chemical in his Vines keeling him alive as he continues his allies legacy.

About the part where you mentioned the bosses are Tarot references, here are my theories on why they were given such names (will only include the ones I'm probably sure about): Magician - The reverse card means obsession with power, being blinded with emotions. Magician in the game has an obsession with getting revenge on the AMS but fails every single time and doesn't bother reconsidering his strategy and maintains the same fighting pattern throughout. Empress - The Empress card is associated with life and nature, but the boss' design is a bit machine like and wields chainsaws, which is pretty much machine and destructive (often used to cut trees, the opposite of respecting life I guess) Emperor - The Emperor card represents authority and Emperor the boss keeps talking about how he rules over nature and such. Lovers - Although yeah, that's a male and female duo. The spiders represent the opposite of the Lovers card since female spiders eat their mates, so yeah not a healthy relationship. Chariot - His tendency to pursue you in Scarlet Dawn and his pattern in the first game where he just swings his axe represents the one-track minded nature of the Chariot card Strength - The card depicts a female angel but the boss is the complete opposite - male, muscular, ugly Wheel of Fate/Fortune - Literally has a wheel on his back and the fact he's Dr. Curien embodies the destiny aspect of the card. Justice - Is supposed to represent the opposite of his corresponding card since he looks like a tortured captive with the chains and exposed muscles Hanged Man - The card represents self-sacrifice but as seen in the first game, the boss tends to command bats to do his bidding, basically throwing others under the bus, the opposite of the Hanged Man card. Death - Probably an interpretation of "Death always comes for everyone." His pattern is to chase after Lisa and G and the police clothing may be because police are always known for chasing criminals, in this case, the player for "trespassing" Temperance - Explicitly stated by the devs that his fat look is the opposite of the Temperance card, which represents moderation Star - Has some star motifs on his shoulders and the projectiles look like stars??? Judgment - The card represents being able to reflect and make decisions on your own but the boss is literally a mindless entity. The puppet is headless and relies on someone else to make the decisions for it. The World - The card represents transcendence and the boss keeps on evolving (until James sacrificed himself)
Stars movements feels similar to the Emperor in 2 they both move around slowly and are protected by spheres that move around them both, while the magician moves around quickly to confuse you, it’s just something that got me thinking while watching your video, I do love that someone did an iceberg as I also love this and series and hope that the second remake one some new things to the series, awesome work, thank you, ps the movie are horrible I do agree
One thing O’m wonder is what do the bosses’ numbers mean? What differentiates Magician’s 0 from Wheel of Fate’s 0000? Why of all bosses did they decide High Priestess should be unknown? The highest number we in the games is 8830 (Sun’s number). There’s no way there’s that many creatures in the franchise, even if we count the regular stage enemies.
I see the numbers being representative of each villian's research. Goldman's creatures seem to use a four digit naming convention (like Type 0011 for Death, 0028 for The Fool, or 0053 for Justice), while Curien's bioforms typically used a 1 to 3 digit naming convention (Type 27 Chariot, 041 for Hangedman and 0 for Magician). Conversely, Thornheart forgoes Type Numbers in their entirety as seen in Scarlet Dawn. The only exception are creatures like the Hermit (which uses a 4 digit naming convention) but given its Type number similarity to The Lovers, it's entirely possible Hermit was spearheaded by Goldman and reflects his preferred naming scheme since we know both Curien and Goldmen were working together prior to the first game.
I think it's ridiculous that many fans don't consider canonical overkill, since the original director of the franchise said he can't officially say anything but personally he does consider the game canonical, the question of this canonicity is not only due to the little involvement of sega and the director but yes because of the tone of the game in relation to other games, since overkill is much, much more focused on humor than its predecessors, and in a very heavy humor indeed, with black humor jokes involving death, disabled people, sadistic violence, and even incest which is part of the main plot not to mention its much greater sex appeal, but so it's not like the franchise is childish or prudish, but I kind of understand what they mean by the game not having the same tone as the other games , but that is not a reason to reject it or say that it is not canonical, it is for me one of the best games in the franchise for being one of the funniest of all! His humor just complements him even more! In fact it is more Americanized in humor and plot but that is the overkill charm of the franchise for me, and for me it would become a spin off of its own! I love overkill too much because it was my first contact with the franchise and I still love this game with passion!
I consider Overkill canon going by Tarantino rules, where the events likely happened in the HOTD universe but Overkill itself being an in universe stylized retelling in the grindhouse style.
3 is when it started going down for me. 1 and 2 had a detailed but colorful and gory style. 3 went more realistic but at the cost of those gory shots in the original, blowing a hole in their torso, big meaty holes in their limbs and half their head shot off. 4 is just generic. This was an absolute BLAST. From loving to watch relatives rarely play The House of the Dead 3 on the original Xbox as i thought the game was extremely enteraining and intriguing yet thought it was too hard for myself to play at a young age, to going back years later when looking back at the awesome bosses from 2&3 and giving the games a real go for myself turned my interest for the series sky high. Soon after that i found out about the existance of a specific game i just had to get. I ordered myself a copy of The House of the Dead 2&3 The Return for Wii as i saw it as the best way to re experience the two games i grew up being fascinated by to finally play just like they were made to be played made 2&3 The Return a game i consider very special along with being within my Top 5 Favourite Games. This series truly is an underrated gem which even with the pretty small lineup of games, ranks up there as one of my favourite game series. As soon as i saw this video, i knew i had to give it a watch and like since seeing others also into the series nowadays sadly is quite rare. An awesome watch looking into the depths of this insane series with a couple surprises even to me with my knowledge of the series, looking forward to see what you’ll get into next as you’ve definetly earned a subscription from me ^w^ (sorry about the long read btw, i can go on and on with any game/series i love as much as this one XD)

I would love you to talk about the collectibles in THOTD2 Wii version, because I looked at the collectibles I unlocked and there was one that said *UFO?* and I still have no idea what it does.
The fact they never release a PC version of the game never allowed me to play it, I managed to do it once back in 2019 on teknoparrot emulator, but ever since I can't find the game to try it, now that the emulator is better. I personally love THOTD4, it added a lot of new features like grenade, path chose.

i'm glad you like this video, it took me some time to make XD !
@@gingergamer5424 Are you going to make more House of the Dead content?
@@keynanmartinez yes dont you worry, got ideas kicking around and I'm also maybe gonna deicate a month to it
@@gingergamer5424 The House Of The Dead series is one of my favorite video games that is a influence to me.
Really interesting iceberg ! Just discovered your channel and it's pretty cool 👌
I am curently playing The house of the Dead: nightmare on my phone through j2me loader, which is basicaly a java-games emulator, and although the gameplay is all that you said it is, its still a lot of fun, coz zombies are litteraly everywhere, and you gotta aim quick if you want to get through it. Its good game.
6:55 That's actually Sega Dreamcast, with giant Duracell battery attached.
Cool iceberg, and cool video! My family basically loves this series and I'm glad there's an iceberg of it.
Don’t let the director hear you say that about his movie. He’s going to fight you for it.
Awesome! Thanks for showing this franchise some well deserved love! XD
Hey man you're doin great :)
Not many in depth videos about House of the Dead that I've seen, so I came across your video.
Cute avatar xD
I never once thought you had dyslexia until you said it like half way of the whole video. I was kinda annoyed with some of the spelling of the words in the video :D . I'm sorry mate! Great video btw. Finished the whole thing!
Harry is probably that character on one of the secret endings in hotd3
An awesome watch looking into the depths of this insane series with a couple surprises even to me with my knowledge of the series, looking forward to see what you’ll get into next as you’ve definetly earned a subscription from me ^w^
(sorry about the long read btw, i can go on and on with any game/series i love as much as this one XD)
Loved the intro haha I have fond memories of playing HOTD4 at the local arcade as well. Those cabinets are actually quite rare and expensive these days. I think the farthest I ever got on that game was The Star boss 😁
Awesome 👍
You said what I felt at the start!!!!! Exactly the same!
FINALLY SOMEBODY'S DOES A VIDEO ABOUT MY FAVORITE VIDEO GAME!!!!!!!!!
Lol you forgot one. House of The Dead Scarlett Rot Slott Reels. It's a slot game at my local casino.
here's a sub and looking forward to seeing more lore videos of HOTD
I've just found your channel and I am blown away with your quality of your videos!
If your going to do another THOTD video. I would love you to talk about the collectibles in THOTD2 Wii version, because I looked at the collectibles I unlocked and there was one that said *UFO?* and I still have no idea what it does.
Absolutely love the series and speedrun it
How do you speedrun a rail shooter? Legitimately curious if there's strat stuff I don't know about that goes into it.
@@birdfacemd how fast you kill the zombies and some routes are faster than others along with that there are sometimes strats to beat a boss faster
Maybe had you played more Typing of the Dead you would know how to spell
How am I just now discovering this channel?!
The fact they never release a PC version of the game never allowed me to play it, I managed to do it once back in 2019 on teknoparrot emulator, but ever since I can't find the game to try it, now that the emulator is better.
I personally love THOTD4, it added a lot of new features like grenade, path chose.
Bless you, Tarot is said like Taro my friend x
I didn't know thornheart was the guy from hotd 3 ending!
There's another comic, fanmade called The Resurrection Men.
Zombie revenge was the shit fixed camera like the resident evil games but with fighting game elements also when u die u turn into a zombie lol
Subbed, keep it up Ginger Bro!
I think the name G stands for goldman like G is the real goldman and the Goldman in thotd2 is just fake
And i think daniel or goldman is the devil boss because they are similar they had the same zombie genes
In 4 and scarlet there's to much zombies to a point it could cause lag
Overkill is on pc
And costs only around 2-3 dolars in keyshops
one thing that might help to know what G stands for, back in the 50's people called government agents G-mans, or just G's, which the fact that he is a caricature of a federal agent explains a bit the joke of he be a G-man lol!
Awesome content, keep it up buddy.
Amazing video I really enjoyed it, I love this franchise and I always have ever since I was a kid (your story is really relatable)
I'm working on a HOTD video myself, just ranking the games that's all! I'll leave a comment when I've made it for if you're interested :)
I also wanna say, I used to think Gary was the Mystery Man as a kid, I remember videos thinking he was Papa Caesar, ahh well
Please do , I've got and idea in the works the similar but I won't be making that till later on in the year
GOOD LUCK WITH THE VID !!!
@@gingergamer5424
Sounds interesting! Thanks a bunch!!
It's a fun video, tons of information but so many typos
Did not know house of the dead had an ice berg
Awesome video
Is it common for the iceberg graph to have terrible spelling?
"I died in stage two"
...so you beat half of the game, lol
Amy is probably Goldman's ex, which is why Judgement spared her but killed Harry
do you mean strength?
@@ViphouKuong heah that one
That dumb bald Uwu Ball, he also botched Postal, but that one is somewhat "entretaining" because is a stretch of Postal 2 but even more offensive and "The joke about the dead baby" type of funny
Hotd 3 cell shaded is gonna be cursed
Loved ITTTTTTTTTTT
On rails. A railgun is something else entirely
I love this game series except for the voice acting...
I wish they would bring back Isaac Washington
That Guy low-key reminds me of Samuel Jackson 😂
I've played loving dead it's a very weird game never finished the game
Link of the nightmare syndrome manga?
