To be honest, after the atrocity that was comment section for my last boss run (Mega Man X7) I thought long and hard if I should upload this video at all. After all, it seems people here are more interested in memes and whining and not in actual gameplay/game/nostalgia feelings/whatever. But in the end I decided to upload it and hope that there are still some normal viewers around here. Besides, my next project will leave so-o-o many butthurt haters that I can't even get angry at all. Well, about this video... It seems I am a little late and Shadowserg already uploaded third game. But still, better late than never, eh? So here it is. Dreamcast version of HotD2. Played on Arcade mode using controller. Perhaps I should have just played NAOMI version with mouse controls because fighting some of these bosses using gamepad was really hard. Especially the last three bosses (not counting resurrected ones). But in the end I managed to beat them all without taking damage. So... When will HotD4 appear on this channel? I can't say for sure. I will record the bosses, yes. But I need some time to rest from rail shooters. Anyway, enjoy the video.

Thought after 1 and 3 that maybe you don't like the second game for some reason. Having so many great memories of that game, was my second dreamcast game back in the day. Imagine orchestrating an end-of-the-world scenario with your army of superpowered mutants and zombies, and having it all stopped by some guy with a handgun and a half-assed voice actor.
Don't forget about metal slug, imagine having a country of robots ready to take over the world and some random guy stops you with a handgun He also defeated the grim reaper something like that
Symbolism in bosses: -Judgment: represents rebirth, absolution, judgment and inner calling. The monsters believe themselves to be judges, juries and executioners, twisting the meaning of the card for their own purposes. They don't follow an inner calling, being completely subservient to Goldman, plus they do get a rebirth: a second chance to fight you again. -Hierophant: represents the deep importance of spirituality and religion, resembling a pope. The monster is none of those things, resembling and acting more like a denizen from hell, and his actions are guiding the people towards destruction. -Tower: the monster embodies what the card is known for: a bringer of catastrophe, also being stationed in one place almost until the end. -Strength: represents purity of strength, not only internal, but also external. The monster only focuses on the external aspects, completely forgetting the internal ones, only focusing on the brute strength and asserting his control through force. -Magician: As I said before, it embodies having great power and the capability of using it for good. The monster has it, but abuses that power, using it for evil. -Emperor: embodies advice, wisdom, authority and grounding. The monster is a tyrannical and megalomaniac being who wishes to assert his authority to humans by subjugation, and also is overconfident and arrogant, underestimating his opponents, which leads to his defeat.

0:23 It's a very small detail, but I like the fact that the sign moves, whenever the big guy stomps around. It's nothing important, but kinda shows the amount of effort they put into this game.

Fun fact: during the second phase of the Tower boss, if it's the water variation, all you have to do is press the trigger to center your aimer, and then keep shooting. It will always hit him and is impossible to get hit this way.
Mainly because at the time those design documents were made there were no known weakpoints. It happened to Magician on the first game heck, it happens to all of the final bosses in the series. The special edition of HotD4 is weird though since supposedly Magician's weakpoint was already documented timeline-wise, yet it shows 'unknown.'
You notice a lot of the poor speech if you get the wii version and put subtitles on “Seems like my advice had no effect, suffer like G did?” Are..are you asking if I wanna suffer? Did I suffer?
Magician is pretty much the only thing in these games I can take seriously. I love him. It's always a pleasure to go through the cheezy dialogue and story just to reach him and his TWO great theme songs (dialogue and combat), plus he's probably the toughest boss in these games. Arek makes them look easy though.
if you are provided with great accuracy and reaction the magician aint really gonna be a problem, In fact the game is actually self aware about this. If you fight the magician and didnt get damage for atleast awhile now, His trail actually turns white and he'd be really fast (or its prolly just a bug)

Strength, this game's Magician, and the Emperor are the 3 hardest bosses in the game hands down. Still one of my favorite light gun shooters ever next to House of the Dead 1 though.

I just realized how awful the english voice acting is lol we used to play the crap out of this but never really listened to the voice acting because the arcade is loud as hell and cared more about beating the game. still a very memorable game from our past, along with the other arcade classics.
Back in my hayday, and when arcades were still fairly popular, shooters like this were my absolute favorite thing to play. My favorites were time crisis and house of the dead. I played house of the dead 1 and 2 so much that I mastered it, and could make a perfect arcade run... can't do it anymore though since arcades are rare, and these games even more rare... Got rusty as a result. But god I remember that it felt great playing that well, and even better when folks would watch you. Good times... I miss arcades. Maybe I'll make a personal one someday.

The nostalgia, it's one of my very first games during my earlier childhood. This game put me into PC gaming and gaming in general and now I'm forever interested in gaming I guess 👍😊
One of my favorite games of all time. Would really benefit from being remastered. I could easily see this game and the rest of the series becoming popular again with better writing, voice acting and graphics.
This along with Crazy Taxi, The Hulk, TMNT and Crazy Frog racer were the shit back in 2010. I remember playing these in our old Toshiba laptop (it had a keypad) and I stayed up all night playing it. Nostalgia.

Another of the HoTD game I loved playing. This one's a real rare sight in the arcade centers these days; finding one is like finding a beautiful jewel amongst the rocks. Magnificently done once again, bud. Keep being awesome; I'll always watch your gameplay :) The first boss is definitely one of the hardest one I had ever fought against; that little fella's really fast! Other than that, the others is but challenges for me to become a better gamer >:3

There are two versions for some of the bosses. For example, you could fight Tower while it glides along the ground instead of on water, depending on paths you took.
One thing for sure Idea,creativeness,unique (were top) Voice acting , sound truck (What the hell was that) I mean the evil man's laugh in 6:35 was like the sloth in that zoo movie Ha.ha.ha.ha.
What bugged me about the Emporer (final boss) was his speech. "I shall destroy and hate mankind." I always asked myself out loud... "In that order?" Because once you destroy mankind that's kinda it. Nothing to really hate after that.

IMO the only hard boss is Strength in the first few attempts because his chainsaw sounds and shaky movements catch me off-guard

I just realized how awful the english voice acting is lol
we used to play the crap out of this but never really listened to the voice acting because the arcade is loud as hell and cared more about beating the game. still a very memorable game from our past, along with the other arcade classics.
I could never even understand the cabinets cause the speakers were so shredded. XD

Back in my hayday, and when arcades were still fairly popular, shooters like this were my absolute favorite thing to play. My favorites were time crisis and house of the dead. I played house of the dead 1 and 2 so much that I mastered it, and could make a perfect arcade run... can't do it anymore though since arcades are rare, and these games even more rare... Got rusty as a result. But god I remember that it felt great playing that well, and even better when folks would watch you. Good times... I miss arcades. Maybe I'll make a personal one someday.
I rate goldmans laugh 10/10 because of the great voice acting.

The nostalgia, it's one of my very first games during my earlier childhood. This game put me into PC gaming and gaming in general and now I'm forever interested in gaming I guess 👍😊

One of my favorite games of all time.

This along with Crazy Taxi, The Hulk, TMNT and Crazy Frog racer were the shit back in 2010. I remember playing these in our old Toshiba laptop (it had a keypad) and I stayed up all night playing it. Nostalgia.

Magician is my only favorite boss in the entire series. His entrance, moves, attacks, and music are totally badass.

oh, that's right, the dreamcast version had green blood. I liked how the wii version lets you toggle green or red blood.
I definitely love that option, although I would usually choose red for more realistic gameplay >:3
it really drastically changes the looks of leeches.
Imageflexion Cartoons Dreamcast version let you use red blood too, but you had to turn it on. Green was the default setting.

Another of the HoTD game I loved playing. This one's a real rare sight in the arcade centers these days; finding one is like finding a beautiful jewel amongst the rocks. Magnificently done once again, bud. Keep being awesome; I'll always watch your gameplay :)
The first boss is definitely one of the hardest one I had ever fought against; that little fella's really fast! Other than that, the others is but challenges for me to become a better gamer >:3

What bugged me about the Emporer (final boss) was his speech.
"I shall destroy and hate mankind."
I always asked myself out loud...
"In that order?" Because once you destroy mankind that's kinda it. Nothing to really hate after that.
I think that's the point: The Emperor is so arrogant that he is unable to realize his mistakes and that's why he wouldn't realize them.
