*This is the most grounded story the MCU has ever told!* And sadly also the most believable. Many hostile nations throughout history have used false flag operations to start wars and today relations between the U.S. and Russia are right back to where they were during the Cold War. So one day radicals on either side could say they are tired of waiting and want to light the fire that can start a world war.
We're just about to watch it. The cast alone makes it a worthwhile adventure. 🔥
This episode crosses over with Mission Impossible:Ghost Protocol and next episode we will see Ethan Hunt since he is also in Russia, LOL!

It's trippy to see Samuel L. Jackson lead a project after being in the MCU for 15 years.
I LOVED how super serious it is. For the record, unlike critics and "fans", I've enjoyed the different variety of content from the MCU post-Endgame.
The death of Maria Hill??? Goddamn! For a recurring side character who didn't have a meaty role throughout, her death was the last thing I expected.
Also, that A.I. opening credit sequence was creepy AF.
When it comes to Emilia Clarke, I have a feeling that, knowing what happened to her mother, she switches sides before the show is over.

Skrulls can live on New Asgard, there they don't need to assimilate but I don't think Gravik wants to be a minority; he probably wants the entire planet. Another thing to note is that Skrulls have spent nearly their whole life on Earth, the plant Talos was talking about grew up there and Talos says he hasn't undergone midlife shopping spree yet so it is understandable why they don't want to leave.
There are several signs indicating Fury's new weaknesses. He went out on a walk and went to bar undisguised knowing there could be Skrulls around. He was also sort of distracted during the mission, I noticed that and thought at the moment he might miss something.
I'm really happy to see you again!! I'm so happy Robert is ok now and really to react for marvel/other shows. Let's hope everything is ok now and no more scary ups and downs with your health.

From the start this show is messing with your mind and makes you question who can you trust,gives off Mission Impossible vibes...Fury and Talos dynamic is fun to watch but I can't believe we've lost Maria already :(

Great reaction as always , especially at the final shocking scene RIP Agent Hill you will be missed .
This is a great opening episode , I recall watching the first trailer and was impressed at how this looked and was certainly not disappointed with the first episode . Really like the Cold War , Spy feel and tone and pacing mixed in with a liberal sprinkling of John Carpenters The Things paranoia , tension and suspense .
The writing , dialogue and pacing is especially enjoyable especially Fury and Talos back and forth very amusing banter ( Love Ben Mendelshem I think he is a fantastic and rather underrated actor , check him out in the great and very creepy , eerie HBO adaptation of Stephen Kings The Outsider I highly recommend it ) plus I love having an Aussie Skrull lol , I also have to mention the brief but fantastic scene with Olivia Coleman she had so many great lines , Olivia is a great actress and you can see she is really enjoying being a part of the MCU , I think Sonya is my favourite non returning character so far . The dialogue reminds me in a way of the banter between Bucky and Sam in Falcon and Winter Soldier which was one of that shows strengths .
As far as the similarity between the comic series and the show the comic focuses more on the costumed heroes - various Avengers teams , X Men , Fantastic Four , Spider-Man and Spider-Woman and by the looks of it the show is more about the non costumed non powered characters plus also there is the fact that the MCU Avengers are pretty much gone now , the X Men and FF have not been introduced yet also I think the show does not have the budget for the MCU movie actors to be in it with all the FX that goes with them , also making the show more about non costumed character gives it a more grounded realistic feel to it .
In the comic series as far as I can recall ( It has been a while since I read it ) the Avengers battle Elektra and the Hand which results in Elektra dying who then reverts to her Skrull form and then the Avengers start to realise that the Hero community has been infiltrated . The comic series is very good and well worth checking out and I doubt you will spoil anything as far as the show goes .
So a first great episode cant wait for episode 2 and the rest .
I really came late to this party The "Special Guest Star" at the end killed me, just when I thought this will be the time for Maria to shine more.. If they decide to TAHITI or LMD on her I will scream so loud that all the death agents will rise once again 😂😂

First thing I did after watching this episode was to go to IMBD. It states she is in 6 episodes, but that could be wrong! I hope she didn't die, they have killed off most of the important female characters! Good show, but I' holding out for Maria Hill. Also, Ross was rescued by Okoye on his way to jail (?) in Wakanda Forever, so I presume he is living out his life there!

People freak out when they hear AI, but they literally *paid artists* to use the AI to make it, and people are still freaking out like "dey took er jerbs!" At this point, the freakout over AI comes at the word "AI" without any rational thought about it 🙄

You can tell it wasn’t Ross as soon as he kills Prescod and doesn’t show any emotion to killing a colleague. No anger, no frustration or sadness that a paranoid colleague forced him to kill him.
Really enjoying Fury’s vulnerability, consoling Talos over the death of his wife ect.
Not sure I like the setup on WHY the Skrulls are invading; Fury and Danvers reneging on a promise to help them find a new home. Pretty sure Fury had nothing to do with that promise and had no space credentials until post blip, and not sure it’s such a good idea to write a scenario where it’s Danvers fault, what with all of the little loser twats out there.
If it isn’t revealed that g’iah was caught and Gravik hijacked and sabotaged the plan, then she’s irredeemable for willingly working with people that killed her mother.

There's only one episode of Secret Invasion, so we don't know if it is safe to watch the series in regards to Guardians 3 spoilers. As for the first episode, no. There is nothing Guardians related.

It’s a shame the hype is now being lost for this series because of the intro for this series being AI-generated, a hot button topic due to the writer’s strike, as one of the issues is to stop AI from replacing actual humans bringing films and TV to life.

AI is never going to replace actual humans. it’s going to be the next great tool, like the internet or smartphones, that we all use every day. that’s it. i’m a software engineer and i had the same fears with my industry but when you learn the limitations and actual purpose of these tools, you realize they’re just meant to be tools. why would humans want to make themselves obsolete????? like come on
As someone who’s used AI, there was still a team of people dedicated to polishing and animating that intro, I can guarantee it
Also they’re likely only going to use that in full one time like what they did for Hawkeye
The studio responsible for the credits has stated that they used the AI as tool, the team behind them are credited in the end credits. It’s a statement piece, which continues the theme of the show. Personally, I think the credits are fantastic and add to the show.

So what happened to the promise of nearly one long episodes that we heard about before the start of this series? Only 6 episodes and they are getting shorter every with every single episode. C'mon Disney stop with this these bullshit 30 minute episodes at the very least give us at least 10 episodes for this story to be told right. No doubt next episode will just end like all Disney shows with a big CGI battle.

Its actually a lot of work to create such ai animations. If you watch the credits you can see that a whole art team worked on it. Many concepts were drawn. So basically every image that you see in the intro was once drawn by a human.
I also think it fits the series perfectly. It looks humanmade but it isnt. I love it

Just because the images are generated using AI does not mean it didn't take artistry to know what to use and what not to and how to describe the vision needed, plus let's not forget also how to edit them togethe. As a former artist it's stuff like that annoys me to no end.
