- I posted my Ensoniq EPS for sale yesterday. And then a friend wanted it and I suddenly became Bilbo Baggins with the ring with Gandalf and my inner voice said "It's mine I tell you! Its my own... My precious..."
Sigh, I have TWELVE synthesizers that are 49-61 keys sideways in my studio. That feels terrible. I should sell something, but everything has magic - I find it difficult. My friend understood (and I'm not saying I won't sell it still)... but I'm still annoyed with myself. I thought this would be the easy one to part with.
It wasn't.
Eventide Blackhole VST used for reverb.
❤❤❤😊. Merci
Thank you!
sounds really great. My best friend is also a collector. Sometimes it does seem absurd to own so much gear (I used to have this addiction, back in the 80's when I was a full time pro, and the touring income and tax write offs allowed it).........Love the 'Ring' analogy........................
I just don’t want to be a collector, you know? My brain is unfortunately calling the shots.
I hear you......these days, I'm finally over that G.A.S. (luckily my very close friend still collects obsessively, which does give me access to almost all the new, exciting, (expensive) gear.......
"I should sell something, but everything has magic" - This guy gets it.
I am for sure selling the EPS - might regret it, but my space needs some cleansing.
Also planning to let the mirage go!
They do have magic… but it reduces my ability to make my music, so… I think it’s time.
Thanks!
@@MIDERA those are important considerations. I have a rack of samplers that don't see enough regular use, but it's hard to bring myself to let them go.
Thanks for all of the great tunes and videos!
These old samplers were workhorses in their day. Had an ASR-10, and it had some of the best implementation of crossfade loop processing to create seamless pads and tones. Keybed was great too. Sold all my gear many years ago, except for a barely used RS7000 that I've just held onto for some reason.
I have an RS7000 too! It’s easier to use… but what it can’t do is cross fade between two samples, at least not that I know of!
Can’t believe your ASR is gone!
I can see that this is cool, but maybe not something I need, you know?
Midera! Wow, you managed to create a truly dreamy track!
Thanks :)
Incredible!
Thanks :)
You should have at least one Ensoniq synth, I've got 2 rack units here now to save on the space. I did have a VFX for a while. They're in a class of their own sound wise :)
I also have the mirage! But I’m thinking that can go too if I get the strength to sell it -_-
I find my RS7000 can sample and is much easier, but it doesn’t cross fade between two samples, which is where this EPS excels (doesn’t seem like the mirage can do it either).
Samplers remain as one of the last bastions of expression in a bland and uninteresting synth world. I know, I have owned a Korg DSS-1 for 16 years with hundreds of floppies I have created. One is only limited by his own ambitions and creativity. I indulge myself with samples I have made with my DSS-1, and feed them into my Lemondrop Granular synth for more unexpected sound samples. All that is required is patience, and a discerning ear.
Inspiring!
I agree - I love these samplers, but I have way too much stuff! And I do sampling least of all. Had a DSS-1 I loved though, but the sampling didn’t work so I never got to try it. Plus it was too big for my space!
wild sound! Would sound amazing mixed Lo-Fi 🎹
Ha, for sure :)
You sold the accelerator. That was one of your top three. You are free to sell it all now.
Who said I sold the Accelerator?
@@MIDERA Cmon man, you said it! This aint my first rodeo. But Midera will always be the accelerator boss to me, and the (novation? or something like that). You are the king of digital... ambient.
@@MIDERA What do you think of the big sky mx by the way
@user-zv7lm8uk7h when did I say I sold it? I’ve never said I sold it anywhere!
I don’t really care about the big sky. I’ve got my Eventide blackhole vst and space, it’s enough for me :)
Just sell it to your buddy, and pick up a rack if you feel remorse. Cool video
That’s a good point :) I decided to sell it.
Ahhh this sounds so good. Sorry if that’s complicating things.
Thanks :)
💁❤👍👍👍
Thanks!
12 is a good palette of synths.
That’s not including the ones that aren’t on their sides! Of which there are also many!
you dont have to sell anything
Yeah… I know. Only problem is my space is a mess. I don’t know how to keep it clean with all these big synths and no space to store them nicely.
@@MIDERA Sell it man. I sold a guitar recently it feels good to get rid of material things. You realize what you really have.
