- Last night I got to clean our plugged sink drain (had to access the grease traps in the basement). That was a fun 2 hours covered in god-knows-what.
Tonight, I got to replace my mother in law's blown tire at the airport.
Thursday - ???
Friday - I get to go to the doctor.
Just one of those weeks I guess. But, at least I did get water flowing again, and was able to replace the flat tire, so I guess that's a win.
Question - I am buying a JD-990, but have a chance to grab a JV-2080 for $280 as well... worth it?
For this track, Boss MD-500 was used for chorus and Eventide Blackhole VST used for reverb.
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for this wonderful music 🎵. So peaceful and soothing 😌. Exactly what the world needs right now and beyond 😌. I hope everything is going well in Your world 🌎. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.
Thanks :)
Everything is OK right now. I know that happens less and less often in my life, so I try to enjoy it when it does.
Super beautiful. This is a desktop synth from Mutable? Great playing. Love that filter opening up. Good luck and peace be with you!
Thanks :) Yes, this is a desktop synth. It's now made as the michigan synth works xena, and priced pretty cheap!
beautiful session..............and I love that shallow depth of field.............
Thanks :)
Yep, it comes in three, life's challenges, as if to test our metal and fortitude. The JV-2080 would look great racked with your JD-990, I think they would compliment one another very nicely, a definite YES, for the JV-2080, Roland gear rocks, plus you will have a piece of history. Love this ambient track with the AMBIKA!
Yeah - I actually didn't totally mind helping with the tire change. There's something about it not really being my problem at the end of the day, so helping someone solve their problem feels good to me. I was glad I could help. Cleaning the clogged drain? That was my worry, and it sucked, didn't know where the clog was and kept hitting something but getting past it only to find it was still clogged. Got dirty poop water all over me too. Was a lot of fun.
I might go for the 2080. I'm thinking yes. Worst case, I'd hope someone would buy it locally for $250 or something. I'd lose some money, but at least got to try it out.
@@MIDERA Clogs are the worst. Recently had to have $1500.00 dollars worth of main pipeline replaced because of pipe degrading over the years and becoming soft, all PVC four and six inch drainage pipe. Makes one feel good to help others, when one can. Hope you can get your hands on a 2080, they seem like great synths. Anyway, hope you have a fantastic day my friend!
What a sublime piece 😮 I saved this all day (in the UK) to cherish whilst eating my dinner. It didn't disappoint. Thanks for turning me on the Ambika, it's just so versatile and sounds so right. Will I ever make music this beautiful? I'm not sure, but I'll have fun trying 😂 Peace
Thanks! I dunno, I don’t think what I wrote was very good, you could easily make better stuff. And having fun is probably the only real reward worth gaining anyway :)
Fantastic piece! Love it ❤️ Reg. your question - I’d opt out for both and go for a JD-XA instead. Keep up the great work! Love from Khao Lak, Thailand 🇹🇭
Ah, yeah, I've looked at the JD-XA, but people seem to love the JD990 over the XA - I'd need to dig further into it for sure. Thanks :)
That's a fine price depending on the expansions in the 2080, but I'm not sure it fits your play style. It's a unit I enjoy and believe is better than people give credit but quite niche at this point and my guess, accounting for your discography and channel, you could tire of it quickly. That said it would be fun to try out if you have the funds!
No expansions in it that I know of. You're probably right about the 2080... seems a good deal on one, but maybe not really. I've heard the 990 is better in almost every way, so maybe I'll just stick to that.
Ambika easily makes up for all of those Roland JD, JV etc models. If you need extra voices, chain a second Ambika.
That is probably true… but I still have to decide if I’m going to keep the JD800 now that I have the 990!
Don't get the jv2080.
I say that with love
@@0e0 lol - why not?
Because i dont think it will serve your music especially if you already have the jd. You could have a lot more fun with $280 elsewhere @@MIDERA
Best to say it with reason or evidence. Holds more weight. @@0e0
had a 2080 for a couple of months , the big screen makes it the most editable of the jv's but it's still a chore of a file system of menu diving layers . probably my least favorite digital resonance of all time. does well with plucky clean transients for glossy pianos. some of the sound scapes are cool but generally too busy for practical use and a pain to make your own . when your soloing/editing one of the 4 parts it's lack of character is truly evident .
Thanks. This helped me say no to the purchase. But the 990 is a keeper.
