Ensoniq EPS ambient pads

Sampled in a sound from the Sequential Prophet 10. Realized only tonight how to layer multiple sounds that could play simultaneously. Was about to give up on the EPS, but I think there's a lot of stuff it can do that is interesting. This was one of those things.

great sounds! - don't give up on the EPS! Try the "synthesise loop" function

I did - I can't seem to understand what it's doing because nothing much happens when I use it. On drums it goes crazy, on other sounds it just seems to change the looping.

I wonder if back in 1988 anyone thought to sample a Prophet 5, Moog, Roland, and layer them up. Sounds beautiful ❤ Hope you’re doing well my friend.

Nice sound! You can modulate the sound of each layer (and sample(s) within) independently of the others too for very complex soundscapes.

Cool. I had kind of done that here, but I didn’t modulate the loop points. What I don’t understand is how to mod the loop. There’s a setting to mod it with the wheel, but nothing happens. I was very confused. You can mod “loop” and “start” but neither of them worked. The mod wheel does work right though. I feel the manual is a little sparse on details too.

There’s reportedly a second manual on advanced sampling that also covered synthesis in depth but it I’ve never been able to find a copy.

Never had an EPS but I've had my ESQ-M and Mirage for a long time. Love Ensoniq products. Nicely done here.

Mirage is great - but hard to use. I bought one back (like the 3rd one I’ve had). Something pretty special about it. The ESQ seems great although I’ve never found one for a good price in my area. Ah well. Great synths all around though!

It’s just a sound I made in the sequential prophet 10 that I sampled. I’ll actually be using the original in a track I’m writing.
