I love love love the Batman. But I concede when he goes up against heavyweights the writers usually take a cheap way out instead of giving any thought. It's easier to write that Etrigan stopped choking the Batman for some unforseen reason rather than Bruce having some magic artifact to help for just that purpose. Batman greatest power is his ability to think his way out of situations. Unfourtanatly to many writers make him try and punch his way out. I mean Batman beat the Hulk by hitting a nerve cluster? Really. The Hulk! A being who has punched and been punched through a mountain? It's like saying an ant could stop a full grown man by punching a never cluster. It woukd not even register. To be honest the stories I have enjoyed most the Batman never throws a single punch. He solves crimes by being a detective. They should try and write to his strengths.
A bullet ant cant take out most humans with their bite. Batman is a bullet ant hes easily squashable but you give him enough time to strike its game over

Many if not all villains have emotions that get in his way. Etrigan for example, he doesn't want to just kill you, he wants to feel your fear, torture you and kill you. He failed to find fear and was therefore impressed. Darkseid is another example, he sees batman and finds him intriguing and even useful. Lobo is also a common example, he doesn't want the easy kill, he wants to show off and be cool. The list goes on but the truth is that emotions always get on the way of villains. I mean if frieza had decided to blow Namek the moment he lost his wish he would killed everyone and be done with it but that wouldn't make a good story would it.

I don’t think that these are good examples of plot armor as in both it shows Batman struggling while etrigian isn’t really trying. With the first one the demon kissed the dark knight. The second example had Bruce apply to the thought process of the the demon instead of physical fighting. I believe that many instances of Batman’s “plot armor” more arrives from miss understanding feats or circumstance. However if you do continue with bad plot armor moments look at Tom king’s run where it just full of bs things ie Batman beating death stroke and deadshot
Inconsistency is a major problem found in both DC and Marvel comics. My favorite Batman stories are ones that hint across that Batman is not sane, rather he is the the most extreme case of PTSD obsessed with justice.

It's been aknowledged in-comic by characters that represent the comic editors that stated that Superman's Story has grown beyond them. Superman is the very embodiment of plot armour, period.
